We had a great time visiting the Daou winery in Paso Robles. The views are spectacular and once we were seated, we felt relaxed and taken care of. We had a choice of a $50 tasting, which would be waived with purchase of 2 bottles. Instead, we each opted for the $95 tasting experience. The food was beautifully presented and delicious. The plate included a small steak, lobster roll and lamb chop. The chocolate dessert really hit the spot. We enjoyed tasting the different wines. We ended up purchasing a cab to save for a special occasion a few years from now. Definitely make reservations online before going.

Without a doubt, the best winery we've visited, I highly recommend making a reservation at least a month in advance. As members of this winery, we receive two complimentary tastings per month, so we only paid for the two salads and the tastings were included. The salad was simply delicious, with a great portion size -- definitely a 10/10. The service was excellent. Our server carefully explained each of the five wines we tasted while we enjoyed the peaceful and beautiful mountain views. We will definitely be returning, and this winery will always be one of our top choices before any winery in Napa Valley.

This was our second visit to DAOU, and it was just as incredible as the first. The views are absolutely stunning and easily some of the best in the region. The wines are consistently excellent, and the overall experience feels elevated yet welcoming. Our server, Reuben, was kind, knowledgeable, and offered great recommendations that made our tasting even better. The hospitality stood out just as much as the wine itself. There's truly nothing like the views at DAOU--we'll continue to come back every time we're in town.

There is not a more beautiful spot in Paso, you need to go here for the views, it's absolutely breathtaking. The wine is extremely well made and there is so much beauty and history to this place. It's a must visit in Paso. I'm no wine expert, but my pallet wasn't loving the flavors. Definitely go earlier in the day as it can get hot. Really cute cats around, and the food is extremely delicious. We thought the service was just alright. It was a bummer there are no aerial wine options. Our server wasn't as knowledgeable as we would have hoped. Will absolutely be back. This would be a great spot to have a membership at, as it's perfect to enjoy the wine and view.

Carlee was amazing !! Great personal and friendly service. I would definitely come back . Scenery is phenomenal. Beautiful views . And wines are super. I tried a Sauvignon blanc and it was superb. I'm using a fan of it, but this one was good. They have a merlot/cab blend worth checking out. Also, you must have a reservation to get in .

Huge and gorgeous property on the top of the hill. Great views in most directions. Postcard worthy photo ops. Lots of bridal showers, bachelorette parties, family gatherings and couples doing wine tasting and having lunch. $50 for a 5 tasting flight with big discounts if you buy wine or join their club. Delicious wines and great service.

While the location is gorgeous, our experience at DAOU was less than ideal as a result of their lackluster service. Admittedly, the Wine is well-made and pours are more than plentiful for $50, but sitting in the sun at 90F+ loses its charm quickly. Arriving early for out reservation we were asked to wait out front, our first of five tastes handed to us while we walked around. After this we were seated, and pointedly ignored for over 15 minutes by two female servers. No water, not even a nod or smile. It turns out "our server" called out, so a younger male eventually stepped up and took over, but still no water for another 15 minutes. All five tastes were notably poured in the same un-rinsed glass, contaminating flavors and clouding nuance.

First time at DAOU Vineyards and was very impressed. Breathtaking views and beautiful property with tasting and dining. Both the wines and the food are very good and our server was very helpful, too. We tasted 6 wines and love reds...all of them were good but the Soul of a Lion especially stands out....an excellent wine. We also had their chopped salad and beef tartar and both were delicious. Will definitely have to plan a return trip.

Finally snagged a reservation and made it here. It was definitely raining so we didn't get to see the beautiful patio/terrace. Great ambiance, large tasting room. Felt like our own private space next to the fireplace. Service was exceptional. The food menu looked amazing but we only had time for an app. The wines, we definitely took home a couple!

DAOU winery is truly a breath taking winery. Beautiful both inside and outside. The views are magnificent. Bring your camera, photo opts for sure. The service is great! The wines are some of the best. Make reservations asap if you're even thinking about visiting this winery!

A beautiful place to try new wines. The wine is excellent and the grounds are spectacular. We had fantastic service and did not feel rushed I strongly recommend reservations!

One of the most gorgeous vineyards on top of the hill! I've always loved DAOU wines so was excited to check out this winery. The views were spectacular and the setting is just unreal! My party got lucky with a very nice day so I could have truly spent hours drinking wine here. Our server was super nice as well and it was overall a wonderful experience. I wish I had more time here over other wineries on our tour. Loved the wine flight we got and normally would have ordered a bottle of red but went with the Sauv Blanc since it was so nice outside.

The views are absolutely breathtaking and made for such a relaxing afternoon. The outdoor seating for the wine tasting was comfortable, elegant, and perfectly positioned to take in the scenery. A special thank you to JC, who was extremely knowledgeable, professional, and made the entire tasting experience feel personalized and memorable!

    Do they allow dogs?

We brought our 30lb poodle mix and he was a perfect gentleman as well as the other well behaved dogs we encountered.

With reservations for tasting, is there a tour of the estate?

Not that l know of but l am sure it could be arranged. I have never seen a more beautiful vineyard!

Does Daou have charging stations for electric vehicles?

    Negative

When it comes to the food menu, do you offer vegan options?

If we make reservations for tasting, can some of us opt out and just get a glass of something?

I believe so. Not everyone in the party has to taste

If you have reservations booked with a group of friends and someone doesn't drink is that okay?

Yes! I believe the reservation is mainly for seating purposes.... I reserved for my family of 4 which is 2 adults and 2 kids. We only paid for 2 tastings.

Can I walk in just buy some wine? Reservations are booked :(

From what I just learned today, the answer is no. I just called and asked that same question and was told, if you come by 1st thing when they open, maybe, but during the day, they will most likely be to busy to serve you!

It said close at 5pm. Our reservation is at 4:30pm, can we stay longer?

They didn't rush us out but we didn't stay more than 15 min past 5. Most people had cleared out. I can say maybe two more parties were still there once we decided to leave.

Can we stop by and do a tasting or is it absolutely only by reservation? They are all sold out today. :(

Reservations only! They are always booked in advance. I've gone 3 times this year and book a months well in advance. So sorry :(

Hi! Do I need to make reservations for wine tasting?

Definitely yes! I know they've had limited spaces with Covid. When I went we booked 3 weeks in advance!

Do they have the spray mist to make it feel more comfortable in this heat?

I believe so. The patio is pretty nicely shaded

Do they allow you to bring your own picnic?

No, but they do have a full service kitchen

Do I need to make reservations or is walk-in ok? There are going to be 4 of us

Highly recommend it. It's a very popular location.

Are babies/ kids allowed? Planning a trip but baby has to come with, checking to see before we make reservations

    Yes , we went with a 2 1/2 and a 4 year old . Reserved a table outside.

Can you bring your own picnic/snacks?

They have a great varieties to go with their wines. WHY bring your own?

    Are kids welcome?

Yes they are welcome. Its a beautiful restaurant too

What is the price for wine tasting?

I think the one we selected was about $20 each but they have different tastings you can choose from. Also you can just share one. Tip: look for a coupon at a nearest hotel

We booked the "wine tasting and lunch", which was a 90 minute experience on their patio ($40). The patio had a nice view of the rolling hills and we could see goats running across them in the distance. The tasting consisted of 4 wines, and we also got a bonus pour. Our host was friendly and knowledgeable, and I really enjoyed the wine selection, especially the "Messer" red. We also ordered lunch, and both my Harvest Salad and Parmesan Fries were very tasty. The grounds were nice, but not quite as breathtaking as some of the other vineyards I've seen in the area. Overall though, a good experience!

Second and most importantly, I wanted to thank Toast Tours for a wonderful and memorable experience, from beginning to end. My Wife and I were making our first visit to the Central Coast, and decided that visiting some local wineries would be a nice way to get more acquainted with the area. I liked some of the reviews I had seen on Yelp regarding Toast Tours, as well as watching a a few quick YouTube vids before contacting them. From the very start, Kristina was a huge help. Thank you again. I conveyed some of what were looking to do on this trip, as well as our past experiences in Napa and Sonoma. Kristina did a masterful job of giving us options. Some more mainstream and like we have experienced before, as well as some smaller, boutique style options. Every question, she had an answer and suggestion for, and when we decided to book, I was confident in our choices. Toast Tours also takes care of the reservations, so that's one less thing to worry about as well. We chose to visit three wineries; Tablas, DAOU, and Ciento. All three were an amazing experience (I'll write more about those individually on their pages). I do want to highlight Ciento, however. This was a direct recommendation from Kristina, and they really stole the show. We would have never known or visited this wonderful winery if it wasn't for Kristina and Toast Tours. Our driver, Jimmy, was on time and extremely courteous. He has a wealth of wine knowledge, as well as local area knowledge, and he shared them in a fun and engaging way. He was a great help at each of the wineries, getting us in and out with our reservations, while also assising with our purchases. Thanks again, Jimmy!. The vehicle was clean and comfortable, and they provide water and some small snacks, if needed. Another thing I want to mention that was very nice as well is the price. While these types tours can be a bit pricey at times, I feel their rates are more than reasonable. Kristina itemizes everything beforehand, so there are no surprises. If you decide to make some small changes to the itinerary, Toast Tours will work with you, and give you the cost differential. Exceptional service from top to bottom, and I would gladly and confidently book with Toast Tours again..
