Darbi's continues to impress! The food is just. so. good. The prices are reasonable and the portions are big!! Service is always friendly, prompt and upbeat and the atmosphere so cozy and homey. We took our parents and they were equally impressed. My mother-in-law asked for Worcestershire sauce thinking they wouldn't have it-- but they did and she was very happy! The SOB and the eggs Benedict are wonderful as is the big crispy French toast. I really want to try the giant cinnamon roll next time! Visited Darbi's Cafe in Pinetop today for breakfast & it was exceptional. I had the two eggs & sausage breakfast with a potato cake & the Tex-Mex Biscuit & gravy. I added cheddar cheese to my eggs and they were cooked to perfection. They actually added the cheese into the eggs while they were cooking where most breakfast places just throw some cheese on top and throw it into the salamander to melt it, Darbi's did the eggs great. The potato cake was the best I've ever had, seasoned perfectly, a little cheesy with a nice crisp. The Tex-Mex sausage gravy is made with chorizo & fresh jalapeños, and when I say fresh they were hot as heck, I love heat and those little green niblets did a number on my tongue, I loved it. The biscuit was moist and tasty. My buddy got the Tombstone Skillet with top sirloin steak with a bunch of fresh veggies, he said the steak was tender and tasty and the whole skillet disappeared, he loved it. Next time I'm back in Pinetop I'll be stopping again, I regret not getting the cinnamon roll after seeing it walk by our table, oh well there's next time. read more

We come to Pine Tops from the Velley in July every year. Last year we dinned in Darbis twice and were very impressed so we stopped by this time again. Unfortunately, the food is very different this time. Biscuits were plain and gray was tasteless. The worst part was three of our plates were barely warm. I had to ask the server to take it back to heat it up, however, it came back just a little warmer. We took the food back but eventually tossed them away. Very disappointed! read more

Stopped over for lunch during our stay at Greer! The restaurant has country vibe! They were packed. We waited for about 10 minutes to get a table. It took sometime to get attention of the server. We got ice tea, burger, artichoke dip, and chilly with cornbread. The cornbread was a hit! So was the artichoke dip. But the chilly and burger were ordinary. Nothing so special. This is not my first review for Darbys. I come here on a regular basis for a reason. The service is fast and friendly. The food is fresh and tasty. We are usually greeted by Darby herself who seats us or you can see her hurrying about the restaurant getting her daily dose of business done. My dad and I enjoyed this particular trip something out of the norm and decided to have the giant cinnamon roll and a cup of coffee. I had the cinnamon roll and a peach iced tea. I must say I've actually never seen the cinnamon roll and I don't know how many years I've been coming here, but I've heard tell tales of it! wow, when they tell you, it's the size of your head they are not kidding. It comes out hot fresh in a square shape. It has plenty of cinnamon taste and is extremely warm with melted frosting on it. There's a dollop of butter that is just slowly warm and dripping down the center of it. It was far too big to eat in one sitting, but it was great to take half of it home to have on another day. I cannot tell you how I would recommend this on a consistent basis not just the restaurant but this gooey delicious cinnamon roll probably the best I've ever had and I am not just saying that. We come up to Pinetop believe it or not just so we can eat at Darby's restaurant. It never disappoints.

When we got there, the place was bustling. Despite how busy they were, I felt like we were seated fairly quickly. When you go, you have to keep in mind that they close at 2:30pm. Also, they don't have much parking and they don't take reservations. Breakfast is served until noon every day. You will need to plan ahead for eating here. I was surprised that they let anyone order off of the kids menu. I ordered a giant cinnamon roll for $9. They only make a certain quantity per day. Their portions are large. I had the Avocado Chicken Croissant. It came with Grilled chicken breast, avocado, applewood bacon, melted Swiss cheese, on a toasted croissant for 13.99 I could taste the grill on the chicken. I wonder if I could have gotten it pan fried instead. The chicken was a bit dry. Be sure to eat the avocado right away if you have leftovers. I brought it home and as avocados usually do, it looked a little out of shape after that. The toasted croissant and the melted Swiss cheese was delicious. Been coming to Darbi's since they opened. My In laws live in Pinetop and we stop by every time we are in town, sometimes more than once. Food is delicious, and service is wonderful. This morning my husband and I stopped in for breakfast. I had the breakfast tacos which were fresh and delicious and he got the prime rib Benedict which he said was fantastic and of course we had to split an order of their sausage links, an absolute must, they are so delicious and cooked perfectly. They also have delicious desserts to go which we would have ordered had we not been hitting the road. I highly recommend all their pies but the triple berry is my favorite. Visited on Mother's Day just before noon and there was about a 15 minute wait which surprised me because there were quite a few people waiting. I decided to sit at the bar so had no wait. The restaurant really got busy around 12:30. I ordered the classic Eggs Benedict with hash browns. The eggs and hollandaise sauce were done perfectly and the hash browns were crispy as I like them. I waited a reasonable amount of time for my food. There is a large number of employees and everyone was very busy. They make a large selection of desserts so I decided to take home a piece of chocolate cream pie for later. It was fantastic! The crust was very flaky and the whipped cream topping and chocolate filling were very tasty. The restaurant is quite large and the parking lot is larger than you think when first entering.
