Had a Wonderful experience buying a used car at Dar Cars Toyota Silver Spring. The sales staff worked together a team, my time was not wasted nor was I pressured, and we arrived at a price that I felt was fair both ways. Every person I dealt with was capable. They all worked together to make the process easy for me. I made several visits over a week- generally during non-busy times- never was I left hanging no matter who was available. I asked that a car from another Dar Cars dealership be transferred to Silver Spring so I could continue working with the folks there. I'd spent 6 weeks looking for a replacement car so felt I had a sense of pricing, quality, and availability. This came from going to 3 other dealers, including Carmax, and exploring the private sale market. As I buy a car about every 8 years, I needed to reeducate myself on the current process- the DarCars folks at Silver Spring were very helpful in that. Another important thing was they said I could take a potential car to my mechanic before purchase- many dealers, for whatever reasons, do not do that. With those who would allow it, I had taken three cars to my long time mechanics at Burnt Mills BP. - all failed their standards- and I took the cars back. The Corola I finally selected and purchased from this dealership passed immediately. My initial sales contact was with Phil Mueller who patiently explored possible cars I had identified on line and others. This helped me refine what I was looking for, even though I already had a written list of my models and criteria. He was knowledgeable, direct, easy to deal with and readily accessible by text or phone. When he detected a problem with a car I was about to take to my mechanic, he phoned me and I did not waste a trip. When Phil was off with a family commitment, sales consultant Kirt Gibbs picked up the ball with the same professionalism- it was almost like they were twins. I also dealt directly with Calvin Young, used car director and with manager Ricky Cortez who were pleasant, helpful, and instrumental. At the last step Gonzalo Medina in Finance efficiently processed the paperwork for purchase, trade-in, title and tags. He patiently explained the options on service warranties, even as we were wrapping things up past closing. I'd suggest exploring that before the final purchase step as it's a lot of information. In summary, I'd go back to the used car sales people at Dar Cars Toyota at Silver Spring. Do your homework, come prepared, and expect a professional experience and a fair conclusion. read more

The absolute worst dealership experience of my life! stay far, far away! This place is a complete joke and an insult to anyone's intelligence. I drove over 1 hour and 45 minutes to see a Toyota 4Runner after contacting them online and agreeing on a price. I was upfront from the start about my trade-in. I sent pictures, the VIN, even the window sticker and I clearly told them I had already turned down $59,000 offers and would only come if they could match or beat it. They assured me they could. Spoiler alert: they lied. When I arrived, they took my keys for an appraisal that dragged on for nearly an hour. Then they came back with a laughable $50,000 offer nearly $10,000 LESS than what I'd already been offered! Their salesperson, Alieu, was condescending and rude, talking to me like I was clueless about car values. His manager was even worse arrogant, dismissive, and openly bragging that they "don't care about the market" because they "do their own pricing." What kind of nonsense is that? After wasting another 30 minutes arguing, the general sales manager jumped in and pretended he'd "go next door" to see if they'd offer more. Another 15 minutes of my time gone, and he comes back with $55,000, still a lowball joke. Meanwhile, the current market shows these cars selling for only $3-5k below MSRP, but these clowns tried to start at nearly $20k under MSRP. This place is dishonest, rude, and a complete waste of time. They strung me along for 4 hours with bait-and-switch tactics, broken promises, and arrogant attitudes. I wouldn't buy a tire cap from these people, let alone a vehicle. Avoid this dealership like the plague unless you enjoy being lied to, insulted, and robbed read more

I don't even know where to start... our truck broke down close to here and we live 3 hours away so it was pretty much our only option. The service dept said we needed a new drive line after they did a $200+ diagnostic. We waited for the part to come in for FIVE WEEKS! They kept saying 1 week, that week would go by and then another, and another, and another. Finally I called a drive line company in the area that I had to beg to go pick it up from DARCARS, just needed DARCARS to unbolt the driveline and hand it over, these idiots gave them the wrong driveline, I have a dodge, this was a Toyota part! So the guy had to go back again and get the right part. When they went to fix it, IT WASNT BROKEN! DARCARS quoted me $2000 to fix the drive line that wasn't broke. I needed a new u joint. The other company fixed for $250! Went to pick up my truck from DARCARS and the said o owed them over $500! For a diagnostic that was totally wrong and to unbolt and bolt my driveshaft back on! What a total rip off! These people are liars and crooks! Oh and I forgot to mention that it is impossible to get a hold of your service manager to get updates on when your vehicle will be ready or what they are doing to it, they are never there and don't call back. My wife and I just purchased a 2012 Camry from Darcars Silver Spring and it was a fantastic experience. They gave me their price over the phone (thanks Wayne!!) which beat all the other area dealers prices. Once my wife and I arrived at the dealership we met with Ken Barrow our sales consultant. Working with Ken was great! Ken is a very friendly, happy person and put us right at ease with his easy smile and relaxed demeanor. Ken had the paperwork with the agreed upon price and our Camry was coming out of the car wash as we arrived. There were no high pressure sales and we declined a few of the offered services and Ken was very amicable and gracious about it. He walked us over to our car so we could inspect it while the prep team was putting the finishing touches on the car. Once we got back to his office, Ken completed the paperwork and directed us to the financial dept. From there John DeSouza took care of us and he was very efficient and took the time to explain all the papers we were signing and answered all our questions. We will definetly get our next car from Darcars toyota in Silver Spring and hopefully Ken will still be there to sell us our next car. We highly recommend Darcars!! read more

This review is about the sales department and not service department. The last car I bought was in 1995 at a different dealership and so I was prepared for the same unpleasant experience. I was dreading buying a new car for this reason, hence waiting 20 years. Though the car I had was a toyota tercel and was still running well. So I was set on another Toyota. I was hesitant to go to Darcars Silver Spring because of the many bad reviews (mostly dealing with the service department). My experience was very pleasant and I was happily surprised. From my first email communication with my salesperson, Luis Garcia, I felt no pressure and so I made an appointment to meet with him. He had the car I was interested in on the lot ready for me to test drive. Luis was able to work pretty much within my budget, there was a bit of negotiating but I was pleased with the price I paid. Luis was very professional, personable and great to work with. I brought my fiance along with me, but actually I would have been fine going by myself. I have recommended to friends the Darcars Silver Spring and in particular Luis Garcia, who made the experience smooth and easy. read more

Desirea was of tremendous help to me and my wife. On 4/15/20 I purchased Toyota hylinder and she advise me to purchase lifetime maintainance care of which I decline, she enquire of my reason. I explained to her this my second time of buying from darcars Toyota of silver spring ( first time was 2012 I bought Toyota Camry ) they sold to me lifetime maintainance package and when I sent the Camry to servicing they charged me heavy and I was explaining to them I had lifetime maintainance package ( that was 2012) nobody seems to listen what they said I did not have nothing as such on my record. So when coming to buy the second time I have in my mind-not to buy such a package. There Desirea let me know I have it on my Camry . Mr Desouza give a copy and sent it to servicing . So since 2012 I have such a package and they were charging me high . They promise that my account will be reviewd and necessary action will be taken. I am beyond disappointed with the service and complete lack of communication from DARCARS Toyota. Our vehicle has been in their possession for over two months, and we've received little to no proactive updates about its status. Every step of the way, we've had to chase down answers, make repeated phone calls, and endure vague explanations that lead nowhere. This experience has been exhausting, unprofessional, and unacceptable. A reputable service center should value transparency and respect their customers' time and money. DARCARS Toyota has done neither. They have failed to provide clear timelines, detailed explanations, or even basic follow-up. We entrusted them with our vehicle and instead have been met with radio silence, empty promises, and prolonged delays. I would not recommend this location to anyone who values honesty, accountability, or even baseline customer service. There were three main individuals who helped me with my car purchase [Henry Argueta (Sales Manager), Lemaye Boulandi (Sales Consultant), Carlos Medina (Finance Manager)]. Each gentleman was provided wonderful, non intrusive customer service and worked tirelessly to help me find and finance the right vehicle that would suit my transportation needs for the long haul. I purchased a 2011 Toyota Camry SE last year at the end of March and can say that I was extremely impressed by the quality of service I received from the dealership and especially from my salesman Charles Cain. I'm sure they were tired of me after several days of coming in and out of Darcars, so indecisive about what I waned. Regardless, Charles always greeted me with a smile and treated me with so much professionalism. When all was said and done, my Camry was priced lower than it would have been at any other dealership with everything I wanted. Not to mention, Charles gave me a direct number to reach him in case I needed ANYTHING from Darcars. I can't say this type of accessibility to salesmen exists with all of my purchases. We wanted to get a lightly used minivan for our growing family. This Darcars has a good sized inventory, the place is clean and well kept, but the best of all was the person who helped us get a great deal: Desirea! She was so polite and helpful. She picked out the best vans that fit our budget and criteria and showed them to us. We were so impressed with her first pick that that was the one we went with. I mean 9000 miles, 1 year old Toyota Sienna for 26k (closing costs, taxes, registration... all that included!). It still had 6 years left of its original warranty and a spotless carfax! We had a great experience at this dealership. They helped my husband and me find the perfect Highlander. We picked it out on their website and went in to look at the car on Saturday morning. My husband and I had decided we were ready to buy the car but wanted to make sure it was perfect! When we arrived they were already very busy. Steve had the Highlander we picked out sitting right out front ready for us to drive. My husband spoke with the manager for only a few moments and they quickly agreed on a price. I was impressed with the professional manner of the staff. The manager, Ray Alvaverez, was very pleasent. You can bet we will send all of our friends to DARCARS Toyota. We got the 4dr LE Model. It has an awsome Radio System. It plays AM/FM/XM/CD/USB/IPOD. I spent several hours programming the radio channels to my liking. I tested out the CD player and the USB port. Antony was absolutely fabulous finding quickly (in one day!) a car of our dreams (Highlander Hybrid Platinum 2022) and spending a few extra workhours with us finishing the sale in the late evening two days ago. She was very accommodating and patient, try to learn what we wanted and what our needs were.
