We talked for 3 hours while she tattooed one of her flashes my shin and it was all around pleasant getting to know her. She is so sweet, professional and a joy to be around. She really took the time to get the placement to my liking, and I'm very happy to have her work on me. I love the vibe of the shop as well; very clean, artsy, spacey, and comfortable. They have multiple artists here and everyone is so nice. They have T-shirts, original art pieces among other things for sale too. :) Definitely will return in the future!

Tracy at the front desk was super helpful with check in and my questions about jewelry and what not. My one feedback and note would be to mention that visitors do have the option to "try-on" jewelry if they are torn between sizes or colors of jewelry because I think some newcomers wouldn't be aware they could do that if it's not mentioned. My friend asked to try a couple of jewel sizes and that was really helpful with decision making. (By try-on, you are just holding the jewelry piece up to yourself and checking yourself out in the mirror :P ) They offer titanium and gold jewelry here. Many beautiful pieces. They also sell saline spray (for $15 if I remember correctly) which I picked up since I was traveling and will be traveling again. Lacy pierced me and she was soooo amazing! She was really through with her explanations and I felt very comfortable with her. Everything went so smoothly and it was mostly painless - only a pinch in the process but no discomfort after the jewelry was already in. My friends and I left with super cute nostril piercings! Highly recommend this studio. Very grateful and happy with the experience here.

"Regarding your wait time, management confirmed it was significantly shorter than stated" - attached are photos at 6:20pm on 4/11/26 aka the time i went in & upon arrival i asked to use the restroom, i took a selfie amongst other pics & the date & time can be found on each one. When leaving, i was asked for my information & to enroll in ur $5 off coupon which was at 8:16pm on 4/11/26. almost exactly two hours, not sure which manager looked into that but i did not randomly chose that number. Consultation - Tabitha asked via phone if i was given the option or made aware of threadless vs threaded jewelry, i was not nor was I given the option between the two. (Im assuming since you guys only carry threadless anyways.) Lacy said the piercings could get expensive when downsizing multiple sizes & when custom jewelry becomes a thing (she gave me an example of hers that have a wide flat back) which i understood. I was never told the jewelry on hand would be so flimsy or else i would have left with a spare set. or why wouldnt that be offered if its a known thing that theyre just going to break soon after? "our management team has reached out multiple times" - Tabitha called me on 4/20/26 at 2:03pm post yelp review & asking me to elaborate which i did. she apologized & said she would investigate & immediately followed up asking if i could "take down the yelp review" I initially agreed but im so glad i didnt. All that was asked of me was to pick a date & time & she will have someone replace the jewelry that broke at the el monte location but she would have to call me back & let me know if there was someone at that location who COULD do it & that she would call back. when she called back at 2:38pm 4/20/26 she stated ordering a threaded set would take 6-8 weeks & that she will order my downsize. we agreed on that solution & hungup. Then 4/28/26 Tabitha texts me & there was no solution so we could agree on so thanked her & left it at that (screenshots attached as well) "waived fees" - crazy cause you guys swear this is something special. when i get my nails done & one breaks theyre quick to fix it FOR FREE & not keep reminding me that breakage could happen nor badgering me that IM at fault for it/knew the risks. Theres no fee to waive if i want to put the jewelry in my own face for free which you guys denied me of because u didnt want to mail them to me. "we offered appointments at our other locations with free parking lots" - text attached of Tabithas convo but she definitely stated STREET parking, exactly how the LA location is so.. not sure where the "Convenience & Options" were. sorry it came to this Leo, maybe ask both sides next time instead of just listening to one.

Today, it has been 3 days since we got the tattoo and although the tattoo itself is small, has fine lines, and is on the wrist, it appears as if it has a smear/smudge on one of the corners on both tattoos. This isn't my first tattoo, and my husband and I have been following the after care and have been careful. It's on the healing stage, but you can tell that the corner line differs and there is a smudged area on both tattoos. For both these it was $240 total and done by Chris. I will update this review once the tattoos heal completely.

He wanted double bands around his forearm and Sam was able to sketch it out and do the tattoo on the same day. We were in and out within 1.5 hours. He explained the process and aftercare which made getting a tattoo seamless and less daunting. I was on the fence about getting a tattoo but my friend said if he got one I would have to get one too. I decided to get a runner with an ekg as I thought it was fitting for me. I wanted something small for my first tattoo and easily to keep hidden from my mom (sorry mom). He asked me to send him a picture of what I wanted and scheduled an appointment for Monday at 11am. Once Monday came I walked over and signed the consent form. He then printed out the tattoo and placed the outline on my chest and asked me if it was where I wanted it. Being a tattoo noob I trusted his judgement. After letting the outline dry I laid down and he began working on the piece. He said since it was a small tattoo and mainly lines there shouldn't be much pain and the healing process wouldn't be as long. It took about 30 mins to finish up the tattoo and the quality came out amazing. There was no pain at all and he went over the aftercare as well. I showed Sam this other tattoo I wanted and he said he would be able to do that as well. He says his art style is realism and anime so I can't wait to get more work done by him. He has been tattooing for 2 years now along with his apprenticeship. He told me to message him when I'm ready for my next piece. Maybe this tattoo thing is an addiction and will keep you coming back for more.

It is hard for me to imagine a better tattoo experience that getting inked by Bryan Burk. The man is a true artist and an awesome human being. He does what the client wants and he does it in amazing fashion. I have several tattoos that I took from a famous female artist...I have since come to realize that she didn't put her all into the work if it was not something SHE liked. I have since had Bryan "fix" some of those tattoos. I wouldn't call them just cover-ups, because the subject is the same, but Bryan made them look the way I had always hoped they would look! I cannot express the depth of my appreciation for Bryan's great work. The shop itself is clean (as all shops shoud be) and cozy (which most shops are not). Adam and Horisuzu are also extremely talented, cool and friendly. I am looking forward to having Horisuzu do some traditional Japanese Tebori on my leg! You could not go wrong going to Dark Horse for any of your tattoo needs. read more

I had a couple of tattoo experiences before I went to Bryan at Darkhorse, now I have five more that Bryan did. Everytime i get one I am amazed at what a great artist Bryan is. Not only can he take complex ideas and turn them into great art on paper but he is equally adept at putting that art on a persons skin with a needle and ink. This combination is quite uncommon. There are a lot of good tattoo artists and a lot of great artists, rarely are the two combined. Dark Horse is clean and neat and has a great atmosphere. Most of all, Bryan, Adam W and Taku have the best attitudes of any tattooers I have met. They are fun guys with loads of talent, not snobs who think they are god's gift to body art. Best tattooing experience ever! The shop is quiet, friendly, comfortable, and totally attitude-free. I went in to make an appointment and found that I could get the work done that evening after a short wait. Surprise! I was lucky enough to have Adam Warmerdam as my tattooist: he took my basic design, customised it into something truly awesome, and gave me a tattoo that was getting compliments before it had even healed! He is a real artist, has a great eye for design, his drawing is careful and vibrant, and he is generally a chill, smart, friendly guy. Bryan Burk was in the shop that night as well, so I had the pleasure of watching another great tattooist at work! If you're looking for an awesome artist in the LA area, look no further Bryan Burk is the man. I first learned about him when I was getting tattooed at Black Heart. He was getting his back done by Scott Sylvia, and also doing a guest spot there. I checked out his portfolio and was blown away. I knew right then he was the guy to do the tiger tattoo I've wanted for a while. So I set up an appointment with him while I was in the LA area on vacation. The way Bryan combines american and japanese styles is second to none. More than happy with my tattoo, still have one more session to go. Bryan is a cool laid back cat, easy to get along with. Bryan Burk is AMAZING. I am covered in tattoos. Full sleeves, both legs covered, my chest, my back, etc. I have gotten tattoos in many shops and in several different states and even a few different countries. Dark Horse really impressed me. I recently got my very first tattoo and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I'm in my mid 50s and was honestly a bit nervous walking in, but the staff made me feel completely at ease. I worked with camille, and she was absolutely lovely. I had a small, meaningful design in mind, and she listened and offered some suggestions, and made the process feel easier. In my opinion Dark Horse Tattoo has become hands down the best tattoo shop in LA The guys at the shop are always nice and inviting. The art work that these tattoo artists put out is amazing. You can not and will not go wrong getting a tattoo there. I have been tattooed by Bryan many times and I am always extremely happy with the work that i have gotten. Adam is also super rad. i had a bad tattoo from the past and looking for someone who could cover it. then i was referred HORISUZU by two different friends. i checked his work on his facebook first and got excited already, colors and all the details are meticulous!!! the shop is cozy and clean which i love. My fiancé has known Bryan for a long time. Besides being such an amazing guy, he is one of the best artist period. He's right up there with all the greats. Bryan is one of the Best At Tradition Japanese Tattoos in the country. And I guess you can expect nothing less from someone who trained and worked under world famous Bob Roberts at Spotlight Tattoo for the first 10+ years of his career. I am so glad I stopped in. The flash selection was fantastic, and the artwork on display was genuinely beautiful. You could tell real talent goes into what they do here. The space itself was open, clean, and welcoming- exactly what you want when you're about to get some ink! Pricing was more than reasonable, especially for the quality of work. Friday the 13th was the perfect excuse to finally walk through that door, but honestly the art and atmosphere speak for themselves any day of the year. Highly recommend Broken Art Tattoo and Josh- whether you're a walk-in on a lucky Friday or planning something custom, this place delivers!

Every artist who works there seems to be amazing, but just from personal experience Connie is so talented at her craft, and I am so grateful to have worked with her a few times now. She has a serious gift with her artistry, and the level of cleanliness and precision she brings to every tattoo is just fucking epic. I was greeted right away when I walked into the shop and asked to fill out the liability waiver. Step two was approving the drawing. Then Johnny got started and wow, he has such a light hand! After some great conversation, before I knew it, my tattoo was finished. Some saniderm to protect it, some aftercare instructions, and I was on my way. The shop is bright, spacious, clean, and super chill. I was checked on every step of the way to make sure I was comfortable and if I needed anything. All in all, an excellent tattoo experience. If you're in Echo Park or the surrounding area, come check this place out!

You know how sometimes after getting a tattoo, you catch yourself looking at it and noticing little imperfections? This was the complete opposite!! The more I look at my tattoo, the more I love it :) She is also SO gentle. I was expecting it to hurt a lot more, but it ended up being a relatively painless experience. The studio was clean, comfortable, and everyone was so welcoming. Overall, for my first tattoo, the entire process was seamless from start to finish. It can definitely feel busy and chaotic depending on the time of day. I didn't end up going inside, but I did call ahead and they were extremely prompt and responsive on Yelp, which I really appreciated. They informed me that tongue rings are $20 for the jewelry alone--not including the actual piercing--so it's something to be aware of before making the trip. Parking is a bit of a question mark since I didn't fully experience it myself, but given the area, I would expect it to take some patience. One thing I will say is that I do like that they stay open until 2 a.m. It's nice knowing there's a late-night option if you're ever in an emergency situation where you absolutely need a tongue ring. That said, if it's not urgent, I would probably just wait and go to Brown Pride the next day instead. In the end, I decided not to go due to the pricing, but I did appreciate the quick communication and late-night availability.
