Do any of your artists have experience in covering scars?

It mostly depends on the scar itself. Some can be covered with tattoos, some cannot, depending on how the scar has healed. Best option is for the customer to come into the shop so we can see it in person.

Do you guys do tattoos for minors with a parent consent?

Unfortunately, we do not.

My one feedback and note would be to mention that visitors do have the option to "try-on" jewelry if they are torn between sizes or colors of jewelry because I think some newcomers wouldn't be aware they could do that if it's not mentioned. My friend asked to try a couple of jewel sizes and that was really helpful with decision making. (By try-on, you are just holding the jewelry piece up to yourself and checking yourself out in the mirror :P ) They offer titanium and gold jewelry here. Many beautiful pieces. They also sell saline spray (for $15 if I remember correctly) which I picked up since I was traveling and will be traveling again. Lacy pierced me and she was soooo amazing! She was really through with her explanations and I felt very comfortable with her. Everything went so smoothly and it was mostly painless - only a pinch in the process but no discomfort after the jewelry was already in. My friends and I left with super cute nostril piercings! When leaving, i was asked for my information & to enroll in ur $5 off coupon which was at 8:16pm on 4/11/26. almost exactly two hours, not sure which manager looked into that but i did not randomly chose that number. Consultation - Tabitha asked via phone if i was given the option or made aware of threadless vs threaded jewelry, i was not nor was I given the option between the two. (Im assuming since you guys only carry threadless anyways.) Lacy said the piercings could get expensive when downsizing multiple sizes & when custom jewelry becomes a thing (she gave me an example of hers that have a wide flat back) which i understood. I was never told the jewelry on hand would be so flimsy or else i would have left with a spare set. or why wouldnt that be offered if its a known thing that theyre just going to break soon after? "our management team has reached out multiple times" - Tabitha called me on 4/20/26 at 2:03pm post yelp review & asking me to elaborate which i did. she apologized & said she would investigate & immediately followed up asking if i could "take down the yelp review" I initially agreed but im so glad i didnt. All that was asked of me was to pick a date & time & she will have someone replace the jewelry that broke at the el monte location but she would have to call me back & let me know if there was someone at that location who COULD do it & that she would call back. when she called back at 2:38pm 4/20/26 she stated ordering a threaded set would take 6-8 weeks & that she will order my downsize. we agreed on that solution & hungup. Then 4/28/26 Tabitha texts me & there was no solution so we could agree on so thanked her & left it at that (screenshots attached as well) "waived fees" - crazy cause you guys swear this is something special. when i get my nails done & one breaks theyre quick to fix it FOR FREE & not keep reminding me that breakage could happen nor badgering me that IM at fault for it/knew the risks. Theres no fee to waive if i want to put the jewelry in my own face for free which you guys denied me of because u didnt want to mail them to me. It's on the healing stage, but you can tell that the corner line differs and there is a smudged area on both tattoos. For both these it was $240 total and done by Chris. I will update this review once the tattoos heal completely.

He explained the process and aftercare which made getting a tattoo seamless and less daunting. I was on the fence about getting a tattoo but my friend said if he got one I would have to get one too. I decided to get a runner with an ekg as I thought it was fitting for me. I wanted something small for my first tattoo and easily to keep hidden from my mom (sorry mom). He asked me to send him a picture of what I wanted and scheduled an appointment for Monday at 11am. Once Monday came I walked over and signed the consent form. He then printed out the tattoo and placed the outline on my chest and asked me if it was where I wanted it. Being a tattoo noob I trusted his judgement. After letting the outline dry I laid down and he began working on the piece. He said since it was a small tattoo and mainly lines there shouldn't be much pain and the healing process wouldn't be as long. It took about 30 mins to finish up the tattoo and the quality came out amazing. There was no pain at all and he went over the aftercare as well. I showed Sam this other tattoo I wanted and he said he would be able to do that as well. He says his art style is realism and anime so I can't wait to get more work done by him. He has been tattooing for 2 years now along with his apprenticeship. He told me to message him when I'm ready for my next piece. Maybe this tattoo thing is an addiction and will keep you coming back for more.

i was on a extra long job interview all the way from new joysey and while my new boss chatted it up with his client on venice blvd and i had 3 hours to kill i hopped into the rental cage and headed for sunset blvd and i found just what i was looking for .. a traditional neat well kept tattoo shop with a guy doing a nice paint job on the exterior as this was their new location .. i walked in and Chris a super nice guy greeted me and i told him i had a little time to kill and wanted to get a set of traditional sparrows on my hands i had been wanting for years and if i could get them done before my new boss called me i would be super happy to have him sling some ink on me but time was of the essence.. he went to the back got the sparrow book out drew me up some killer tweeters and proceeded to gun me up some super nice black and grey birds i have been wanting for years and i was in and out in an hour or less and he was very fair on the price..i had to catch a red eye back to NY that night and my new boss even loved the work and he is not a tattoo buff by any means ... my ink looks like it was done a week ago and is healing perfectly and i am super pumped at the job he did.. Chris is a biker just like me and we chatted it up about our favorite bikes and i felt like i was at home and had a blast and wish i had the whole day to get some more work done but i needed to get back to work... Chris is top notch and has a great new shop very clean with an old time tattoo shop feel and i will wear the sparrows with pride and i may buy a bike or two from him and his buddies... just a great day great ink and super cool bunch of guys and i will be sending all my bros over to him when they are riding through LA and i will be coming back for some big work soon ... wish i lived closer i would be a regular.. thanks Chris and alchemy tattoo for the hospitality and great ink !!!!!!!! this is a place you have to go if you are in the area!!!!!!!! read more

Went in with a friend to get a portrait of his Mom who just died on his back a few months back. He said he talked to Mike first & said he was really busy. So, he told us that Chris Breksa could maybe do it. So, My friend came back the next day for his appointment & Chris showed up 1 1/ 2 hour late. Chris never called the shop to tell the shop he was running late & to tell us . We said, Okay, those things happen I guess. So, Chris took the photo of his Mom & gave him this $600 quote & said he can make it better than the B/W photo. Well, it took him almost 4 hours cause he keeped talking to girls coming in & basically asking them out on dates, telling them they are perfect canvases blah blah blah. Telling them he owns the shop & he's world known blah blah blah. It made me sick cause the girls just wanted to get a Tattoo & NOT go on a date w/ this fat goofy slob!!!. I ended up going home after it took so long & I was there for 3 hours w/ my friend & Chris was still messing w/ the photo. Anyway, my friend called me later that he was pissed!!! His tattoo looked like nothing like his photo he gave Chris!! I saw it & felt bad for my friend. It is the worst Tattoo portrait I've ever seen. Well, Now my friend is in the works on getting it lasered off. Ouch!!! Anyway, STAY AWAY from this shop!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Chris does shitty Tattoos!!!! & he was an ass during it!!!!!! I had such an amazing experience here, I was super nervous before going in, but as soon as we walked through the door, Paul made us feel completely at ease. He was so welcoming, cracking jokes the whole time, and it really helped calm my nerves and made the whole atmosphere feel comfortable and friendly. I wasn't completely sure which piercing I wanted, and Paul took the time to explain the differences between them. He told me which one would hurt less and which would be easier to change later on, which made my decision so much easier. When it came time for the piercing, he walked me through every step, making sure I knew what to expect. It was over so quickly that I barely even felt any pain. On top of that, he even gave me a cleaning spray to help take care of my piercing afterward, which I really appreciated. His professionalism, patience, and humor made the entire experience so much better than I expected. I'm beyond happy with my experience and would absolutely recommend Alchemy Tattoo to anyone looking for a tattoo or piercing. I have been eyeing this shop for ages. A number of my friends got their tattoos at this shop and it reached the point where I knew I couldn't get my next tattoo anywhere else. I ended up going in on impulse because I was already in LA and I had an afternoon free. I walked in and showed the dude at the front the illustration I wanted and he blew it up to a perfect size and then went and showed the artist. Alejandro was amazing. This was my first tattoo in a place where I couldn't watch the process and my first tattoo on my chest. I was super nervous about the process but Alejandro was super professional and kind. The first thing he talked about was consent, which totally reassured me that I'd come to the right person. Our conversation during the process was very natural and comfortable, something I hadn't gotten from other tattoo artists, and he told me what he was doing as he did it. It was positioned over a scar and he told me that if it doesn't take I can come back and have him retouch it. Overall a wonderful experience and I am absolutely in love with the tattoo and planning to go back to Alejandro for my next. read more

I've been getting tattooed by Chris for about 5 years now. He's awesome! I don't go anywhere else as long as I'm in LA - no chance. I've followed him from different shops, and it rules that he's got his own now. The shop is clean and chill and looks rad. If you live in Silver Lake or Echo Park (or anywhere else in this city for that matter) and you know what's up - that's where you go. Chris is an amazing artist, and he's fast and his prices are beyond fair... the best in LA by far for such quality work. A lot of people that are visiting or are new to LA don't know where to get tattooed because there are so many shops here, most of which are complete rip offs... and I know, because I've been there. I tell everyone to go see Chris. The shop is right in the heart of Silver Lake off Sunset - a rad area. Just stop by sometime and check it out. In response to a 1 star review: I recently (2 weeks ago) got the most amazing tattoo from Chris. He is professional, an amazing artist and extremely particular about his work. I told him what I wanted, he stenciled it on and did a better job than I could have ever hoped for. Obviously, 1 star reviewer, you should have looked at the tattoo while he was working, since it was on your hand, and told him if he was doing something wrong. I have nothing to say but amazing things about Chris, his staff and his shop. I would, most definitely, recommend Alchemy Tattoo to anyone and everyone. Cheers Chris! Best tattoo shop in town! Yo! This is the place you wanna go to if you're looking for great artists, great vibes, and a great time. My friends and I walked into the shop and met Dolphin, who ended up being the artist who gave me my tattoo that day. I didn't make an appointment and it didn't matter. Dolphin and I browsed through some fonts and after he got set up he had set 3 chairs around my chair so my friends could sit with me. I've never been to a shop that's let anyone do that so I thought that was pretty rad. Dolphin is an awesome artist and super down to Earth. You can tell all the artists there really love what they do. My tattoo is healing just fine and I'll probably be back v soon for my septum piercing! read more

A friend and I decided to get chainsaw tattoos for funsies and to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Texas Chainsaw Massacre which we watched at Hollywood Forever Cemetery later on. Called the shop to make an appt since there would be 2 of us coming in. When we arrived, Chris (the owner) used an actual pic from the movie to draw up the chainsaw. It's yellow in the movie but I'm not a fan of yellow so mine Is pink. Chris was awesome! He was professional but cool and chill. The shop is rad, a true old school looking one with incredible flash all over the walls. The shop was clean and my friend I felt totally at ease. I have been getting tattooed all over the world for well over 25 years now and I can tell you that the staff at Alchemy are true professionals and have a shitload of talent. I would highly suggest checking them out for yourself and see just what a relaxed place with no attitudes it really is. Need a portrait? They have an artist for that. How about some traditional ink? They have you covered sailor. You want some tribal bro? Handled. Fine line gansta shit you ask? Man, they are so good your boys would swear you just got out from doing a nickel in Folsum. Came in for my second tattoo and Alejandro did such an amazing job, I was nervous and in a lot of pain but I'm so happy with the result. He took the photo I liked and drew up a gorgeous design which I loved and then tweaked it to my taste to make it exactly how I wanted and it was perfect. After the first hour and a half I was feeling dizzy so Alejandro stopped and got me a can of coke and a snickers bar and let me rest. Jake is simply the best. Friendly and professional - but also just a righteous human being. His portfolio spans all tattoo styles and that versitality truly speaks to me. This shop came recommended by a friend, more specifically Chris. So Saturday I decided to go on this recommendation. A friend and I got a bunch of smaller tattoo's and were extrememly happy with how they came out. The tattooing experience (and shop) was also quite enjoyable, easy, pleasant. I also have been wanting a rather large 1/4- 1/2 sleeve, but haven't found the right artist until now. If you want an enjoyable (if possible while getting stabbed a million times with little needles) and personable experience than you should look into Alchemy Tattoo. read more

I started with my first tattoo about 17 years ago and I went from 1 place to another looking for the perfect artist and match for me. Then 10 years ago I walked into a place on Venice Blvd and met Jake Cavaliere. I have been getting my ink from him ever since. I can take him any picture or drawing, tell him my take on it, and he gets it right every time. Now he's in Silver Lake which is about 45 to 1hr away from me but I would follow him anywhere. On a whim, I walked into the shop! Not really knowing what design I wanted. Only that I wanted to get a tattoo on my hands. After some "critical thinking", I had figured it out. Their super great assistant set me up with the best artist for the task, Alex!!! He was amazing!!! Friendly greetings upon entering. Jason took care of me via walk-in and was open to my ideas, while also offering suggestions and insight as well as willing to craft up drawings on the spot. He also had a great touch for dealing with the ribs. I love my new tattoo! This was my first tattoo and I'm so happy that I went to Alchemy to get it. I worked with Alejandro who made the whole experience easy and comfortable. I had a pretty good vision of what/where I wanted but couldn't find the right image online. He was able to draw up something that was exactly what I wanted and was willing to work with me to make edits. The process was fairly painless and I love what I ended up with. I have had my only 2 tattoos done here by Chris Breksa, and both times were an enjoyable experience. Everyone in shop was nice and made the whole experience more comfortable.

I was actually referred to THS by multiple people so I looked into them and found Endry. His work really impressed me and my boyfriend who was also a tattoo artist back in the day. So I booked an appt to have a very simple roman numeral tattoo done under my collarbone. The booking process was actually very easy and the shop worked with me. There's a $200 minimum and there's a $100 deposit that you Venmo before the appointment is made. I honestly found the booking process super smooth and easy. If you can find it, there's metered parking right in front of the shop which is super convenient. I honestly love the vibe of this place. Endry was so kind and welcoming and made my first tattoo the best experience it could've been (also want to note I have a needle phobia so this is a legit compliment). I have since seen Endry multiple times for more extensive work. Endry is truly an incredible artist who really puts care and consideration into each piece. You can tell he really cares about his craft and I have so much respect for that. Working with him has been a pleasure and I look forward to my next session with him. I actually recently got my forearm done with a beautiful fine line floral wrap and I am still in awe at the photorealistic detail in the flowers. Showed him a few AI examples and he had me send him one that he/we thought looked cool. I didn't really put a ton of thought into it just figured "sure. Do your thing with it." I probably should've noticed the AI flaw in the stencil, but, as my regular artist pointed out, he definitely should have noticed, especially since he had the original photo. A little miscommunication but oh well. On top of that it's really really light so I'm going to have to have my normal artist fix it and touch it up. I wasn't even going to leave a review because it's partly my fault, and I don't really care that much, but like my normal artist pointed out, he's supposed to notice these kind of things. Then I realized the only reason I don't really care is because it's somewhere not normally visible. If it was on my arm I would be horrified. Other than that, they were cool, the booking process was easy, and reasonably priced. Also the shop was super clean which is important to me so 3-stars
