" Great Taste, Large Portions, Great Service " My wife and I went to eat at Darumaya Japanese Food Restaurant in Beaumont, CA and had a wonderful dinner. Emma our server was so nice as she answered all of our questions about the Japanese menu items. We started our meal with three appetizers of Edamame, and some very tasty Gyoza Fried Dumplings, and Jumbo Shrimp Tempura. The Bowl of Edamame was very big and Fresh. The Dumplings were nice and crispy and tasty. The Jumbo Shrimp Tempura was very light and Yummy. My wife had the Original BBQ Pork Ramen Bowl and a Crunchy Sushi Roll. The Ramen was very tasty and super BIG ! I had a Shrimp Tempura Roll which was delicious. Daumaya has very little seating areas, but there are a lot of take out orders going through the kitchen. The Food quality is very high, and their prices are very reasonable, especially for the amount of food you get on your orders. Stopped here on the way home from Phoenix. This little spot is super cute, probably family owned. The portions are generous. We ordered chicken teriyaki, vegetable ramen, and four rolls. My husband and I eat A LOT and we were worried the ramen wouldn't be enough but it was (and delicious) and including the sushi we were stuffed. I told her she cannot tell me s price them change 50% more. I told them to return the difference to my card. She told me I had to return the food if I wanted a refund. I came to this place by entirely relying on yelp reviews and I must say, I made a great decision. My husband and I walked in on a Tuesday around 2ish and was immediately greeted by a nice lady who sat us down with two sets of menus. The guy who later came to take our orders was very helpful and friendly. I ordered the gyoza, the takoyaki, and baked mussels (day's special). But unfortunately, they were out of takoyakis and I was extremely disappointed (that's the entire point I went there). I was told that the order would come around 4ish and believe it or not, I actually stayed that long (after driving about 35+ mins) to get me some octopus balls!! But alas, I was told, around 4ish, that the order won't be coming in at all; I was beyond sad but I won't let that experience reflect my review only because of their customer service. They apologized several times, offered me a complimentary mango Snapple and even gave me a little cup of ice-cream. I absolutely love establishments who value their customers and try their best to provide all things good by going above and beyond. I came here exclusively for the takoyaki, and I should have left this place being disappointed. Instead, I left appreciated and super satisfied with their behavior and overall service. So, I later added the number 1 ramen to my order, the tonkatsu ramen and boy oh boy, it was scrumptious! I've had many ramen, and let me tell you, this one was authentic (or as close as it can get). The price, for the quality of food provided/served is unbelievable! The dumplings were amazing, I lovvveed them, whereas the mussels could have been just a little better (they were a tad overcooked). But overall, they were all great. I paid around $20 for everything and I don't know how that can be beat. I saw a lot of people coming in and out, ordering sushi (more popular orders here I suppose). Me and my daughters came here at noon to have lunch . Our first time and did not disappoint. The lady that serves there is very quiet and you have to flag her down when you need stuff . It's a really small place, only like 6 or 7 tables.... we got there about 8:25, they close at 9 .... As a server myself, I know it's not really a good idea to come in too close to closing. However, our server did a great job. Everything was perfect!!!! My son had a ramen noodle combo with Tempura California Rolls, I had Miso soup,Gyozas, steamed rice, Dragon roll, Baked Salmon roll, seaweed salad and Sesame Balls for dessert! I've reconsidered what I wrote previously: This is honestly a golden spot in Beaumont. The food is always consistently delicious, fresh, and wonderful. My family eats here weekly if not more. The blue fin tuna is a new special (it is absolutely amazing), the ramen is better than ramen I've had in union square nyc (and absolutely authentic while being uniquely theirs), and all of their tempura options are delicious. My family is partial to their tempura mix special and the salt/pepper shrimp. They change up the menu and add things here and there. Recently they started doing a small scoop of ice cream for dessert for free and have added salmon/yellow tail collar and the blue fin tuna. Emma is the waitress and really remembers you if you make an effort to be kind. The place is busy and I hope they get to move to a new, bigger spot when the new shopping opens up near kohls. My wife found this place on Yelp when we were getting ready to move to the area. When we came here they were packed; there were 8 tables (6 tables for four and 2 tables for 2). Because it was packed we decided to wait for a table to become available. So happy we did!!!! We ordered an appetizer of edamame, chicken teriyaki and california roll combo, pork tonkatsu ramen with miso broth, original beef ramen with beef broth, crunch roll and hawaiian roll. Everything was delicious, the dishes were good portions and the price was very affordable. The service was quick and the food came out hot and didn't wait a long time for it. My wife felt the experience was a 5 and I would have to agree. At the end of our meal they served a scoop of maple swirl and vanilla ice cream which was delicious. This was actually pretty good. It's a small place, and they don't have a large staff but they are great. One thing i liked is that they make everything as you order it. Nothing is pre made. They have coke products and accept all major credit cards. I had the miso chicken ramen, it was good but I felt like it did lacked some flavor.
