Cannot give them more than 3 stars. After two months my car was ready. Picked it up to find one area not painted. Wrong rims and no one noticed. Attention to detail was not there. Wish they had done all this in the beginning and they did get it fixed after multiple trips. And I was overcharged for tires and installation to the tune of about $200. I can't say enough good things about Christian and the team at Das European Autohaus. I have an old TDI Jetta that I love and have spent way more than it's worth to keep her going. About a year ago I was in a small crash and had a body shop on the south side of town do the repairs. They called when the car was ready and said that it wouldn't run. Frustrated, I knew there was what supposed to be a reputable VW TDI guru nearby, so I had the car towed to them for repairs. Seven plus months and myriad excuses later, they'd done nothing to get the car back on the road. It was an awful experience. Finally it dawned on me that I had previously had a great experience at Das European, so I had the car towed again to the team here for repairs. I was very frustrated at the inability to just get the car fixed. because I had spent about $8,000 having a lot of work done to keep the car going, I was worried I wouldn't be able to get her fixed up and back on the road. Christian and team came to the rescue. They fixed the issues on the car and more all in one weeks time. I couldn't be more thankful for the work these guys did, and more importantly that they understand how much I love the car and how hard they worked to help me keep it running. ONE THING FOR CERTAIN WHOMEVER ANSWERED THE PHONE ON A SUNDAY NIGHT IS TRULY A GOD SENT BLESSING! They are very caring and helpful to their customers. I barely bought my 2017 Audi a3 and replaced the battery and oh gosh 4 lights came on. I didn't know who to call except them- (was referred by Bimmer on 1960- previous car was bmw-they're great too) but anyways believe it or not these guys are so loyal too- explained to me how to fix it without having to come in because it was a simple fix that I overreacted about, and I know they were closed on Sundays. That goes to show how this is THE BEST AND NUMBER ONE PLACE TO TAKE YOUR AUDI!!!! Lastly let me mention my first time walking in same car I came in explaining how my MMI buttons are super sticky due to a spillage that was there when I purchased it and I wanted it cleaned. Christian explained those things are not to be cleaned rather replaced. So then he searches my car and turns his whole computer screen and shows the price of the mmi part alone and yes that was a 2k part he then asked if the buttons still work I said yea then he claimed to not deal with it until it completely stops working to save on cost of my pockets. He told me about the extended warranty and told me to look into the one I purchased to possibly change it through that. The man literally goes above and beyond for his clients. I have a 2016 low miles (32k) Golf R. I took my car into have my oil changed at a local all purpose oil change place. After the oil change I had significant issues. I took the car back after it was blowing black smoke. They kept it overnight found no issues and test drove it twice. I got the car back it started back firing, cylinder miss fire warnings etc. I had it towed to Das European Autohaus on a flat bed. Christian found the problem nearly instantly. The previous chain oil service mechanics had pulled off a vacuum line. Christian supplied me with immediate online photo's of the before and after repair. etc.. The car runs like it used too. Fantastic! To be clear I have high performance modifications on my vehicle. And it's really not fair of me to think that a general maintenance location could know anything about VW's let alone my enhanced vehicle. I will always. If you have an out-of-warranty VW/Audi, absolutely do not bother with a dealership or a generic repair shop. Just go straight to Das Autohaus. Had a stereo jack failure and an OBD light. The dealership wanted me to sign off on an exorbitant quote just to look at it. Generic shop couldn't do the stereo jack and when they diagnosed the light as a glow plug failure, tried to talk me into replacing all of them. Called around for quotes, and not only was Das Autohaus the lowest quote, but their mechanic explained, in sensible terms, why it made no sense to replace all four. At the end of the repair, they lifted the car and did a walk-around, showing and giving estimates for all the other lingering issues they noticed. They also threw in the stereo jack recode for free. Will definitely be back. Even if you don't live in Spring, you'll probably save enough to make it worth the trip. read more

In Houston visiting family and our MB was running a little rough. Stopped in here and the owner came out and talked to me. Then took a ride in the car. Told me some things I need to get done but that I could wait until I got back home. Drove back to the shop and he checked my car out and showed me the shop. Guy spent at least 30 minutes with me and never asked for a dime. He didn't try to con me into getting work done right away. Very friendly and honest gentleman. And the shop area was first class. I had an expensive AC component (the compressor) replaced. Even though they had replaced the same part a year earlier, they did so again without hassle and with zero charge, as it was under their shop warranty. But, the problem turned out to be something else entirely, which wasn't under warranty. Not only did they not charge me for repairing the new problem, even when I told them they should, but they gave me a Starbucks gift card for my troubles, since I had to bring the car back to them. First, they were not friendly at all. I had a check engine light on and car was running rough. Made an appointment and dropped it off. On the 2nd Day I hadn't heard anything so I called and they said they couldn't find anything wrong. The charge was $120 for diagnostics. I have to tell you that I was impressed with the service at Das European Autohaus. I know owning an expensive Porsche can translate to expensive to service. I was only asking for a fair price for competent service and that is what I got from Christian at Das European Autohaus. He took the time to explain the work that was needed, did the repairs correctly, and even took time to explain future repairs common with a vehicle of my type. What else can you ask of a mechanic. I called when my car started making a weird noise and they told me to bring it in immediately. The guy went out of his way to show me the check engine codes and what they meant and why I didn't need to have any of it fixed because most of it was probably things that the prior owner had already fixed and never reset the computer. He changed out my battery which i didn't know needed to be done after showing me the low voltage on the voltmeter. He did all of this without me asking and told me what the noise was I brought the car in for originally and that I didn't need it fixed right now. Would be six start if possible. I was in from out of town when my 2006 Jetta TDI starting lurching at low RPM and spewing white/blue smoke out the back. What a great time to have car troubles, right? Thankfully, my mechanic in Austin had heard about Christian from the TDI forums, and I happened to be near Das Autohaus, so in I went. Christian arranged for my car to be seen that morning. I left it to go to my day full of meetings. About two hours later, I got an email saying that he needed to go ahead and open the engine up, and asked for approval. Awesome communication. I went back that afternoon after my meetings. Without prompting, Christian invited me back into the shop, grabbed a flashlight, and began to explain what he'd found. First, he showed me a cylinder head from an old TDI, and explained why a certain amount of damage had happened. Then he took me to my car, and showed me the exact same damage on one of my cylinders. I've never had a mechanic in my life do that, even the ones I trusted completely. I left the car with him to see if he could repair the cylinder and lifter. Unfortunately, he called me on Monday to say that part of the lifter was stuck and that the cylinder it was stuck in was likely damaged beyond repair. This of course doubled the repair estimate due to needing an entirely new cylinder head. I should state that during the first (cylinder/lifter/camshaft) repair and second repair (cylinder head), I was given detailed explanations of everything, including options for used/remanunfactured parts, and "what happens if I do this or that" type of questions. This included detailed estimates for the cost of the work, down to the individual nuts and bolts needed to hold everything together. Having seen the damage on my car, and having had clear explanations from Christian about what it all meant, I knew I was getting an honest answer. Unfortunately, it was going to cost more than I was willing to pay to make the repairs. Christian was kind enough to help me find a way to sell my car for a little bit of money, which was a win-win for everyone since I could cleanly wash my hands of the problem and still have a little bit of cash out. You cannot ask for anything more from a mechanic. If you drive an Audi or VW, go see him, even in place of the dealer. He's certified, so he won't void the warranty, and I guarantee you it's cheaper, more honest, and more valuable work than any dealer in town. read more

I dread the day I have to go to a mechanic. I know some about cars, and like to shop around. I've had places in the past try to dupe me and I'm over being on edge on weather to trust what mechanics say. This place is great, kinda far for me, and not the cheapest, but the work is right and the people are friendly and helpful. Thier digital which speaks to my language, they have digital check ins and email reminders. Overall thier a win in my book, thier a little far and the parking sucks at best, but neither is really relavent to good service and peice of mind. read more

I took my car on 08/15/2017 for a Service C, Stefan called me and told me I need a brake fluid flush and I need new lug bolts. The wheel requires 20 bolts, and my total would be $1,144.85 including the Service C. I said ok, but I ask him, do I need brakes? On my service last year you told me I need brakes. I did not get the brakes, due to the light was not on and I wasn't having any problems, so you told me I could wait until the light comes on for the brakes. Although on your recommendation you stated that the front brakes are at or below minimum specification, recommend complete front brake as soon as possible, this was almost a year ago. Stefan told me on 08/15/2017 after checking my brakes, that I did not need brakes at this time. I have been taking my 2007 S550 to Stefan every since I bought the car in 2010. I was referred by a friend, that no longer take her Mercedes there. In 2016 the name changed from European Star to Das European Autohaus, but since Stefan was still there, I took it in for the service with hesitation. I am questioning the integrity of this business, I was told a year ago I need brakes, now this year I am been told my brakes are fine for now. And on the recommendation slip for my 2017 service, states that my rear brakes are ok, but recommend that they check them again in three months. Since I wasn't satisfied with the situation about my front brakes, and I felt something just wasn't right. On August 23, 2017, the next week, I took my car to Mercedes-Benz of the woodland to have a brake check. My front brakes was at 1mm and the brake pads/rotors glazed. The Service Consultant took me out to see how bad my brakes were. The rear brakes have at least 10,000 more miles to go. I don't why he told me this, putting my life in danger if I had kept driving the car waiting for the brake light to come. Maybe they knew if I kept driving, until I damage it really bad I would come back since I had been going there for 10yrs. The trust is gone, no more!! And don't try to explain your actions, I have proof, and you are only going to make me more disappointed with my service at Das Eropean Auto LLC. My vehicle was repaired and about 6 weeks later it started to do the same thing. Brought it in to be looked at under warranty, as told by Christian. When I came in to pick up the car and find out what was wrong, it was now something else wrong and was going to cost an additional $1300. Then to top that he informed me that I was charged a $90 diagnostic charge for the warranty check. I was stunned and disappointed that it nothing more than another rip off place. When I tried to talk to him about it he then threw the fact that because he offers it, "Veterans discount" and I asked about it, that he lost money on the previous work he had done with the discount, well don't offer it if you believe in it and feel it is a point to complain about.
