He was thorough in explaining the problem. He was fully booked but made time to examine and then squeezed me in to fix it two days later instead of waiting over the weekend. Whew! He arrived, took it apart, then left saying he had an idea that he thought he could try that he'd been having great success with. He went to get what he needed, came back and got to work again. The idea paid off....making the repair bill go from $350 down to $218. We will definitely call him again if needed! Honest and diligent. I see why the good reviews and how he's been in business for so long.

Further they were barely any help at all to try to source new parts (did most of the legwork myself). Instead they stuck a heavy wrench tool between hinge where the door meets the oven body and applied body weight pressure against the door -- which they said has worked for other customers it did absolutely nothing at all to fix our issue except to make everything worse. Then they spent the next 15 minutes telling me to consider a new $3000+ unit.

Once we had the part, Austin installed and patiently waited sitting on the kitchen floor for it to be filled with coolant (I think that's what it was). I realize this was lost revenue for Lamar's Appliance Repair, but I appreciate their honesty diagnosing the problem and being truthful that we were better off getting a new fridge instead of repairing it. Replacing the broken piece would have cost nearly as much as a new refrigerator, but that was also money they would not earn from us. Sheldon, our technician, thoroughly tested our 12-year-old gas furnace and correctly diagnosed a problem. He is friendly and respected our property. We got a clear answer about a needed repair and he came by the next day and installed two inexpensive sensors. Total cost came to $139. He ran the furnace through several heating cycles while he waited to ensure he had corrected the problem. A few days before we had a competitor's technician take a look, but he didn't find the problem and instead recommended about $2200 in so-called repair parts. Most of those parts had nothing to do with the the problem. And I had installed some of them as new parts only a month or so ago. Talk about a scam. The competitor also tried to talk us into a complete, new HVAC system!!! Go with Method. They are a small, local company dedicated to their customers.

Our AC struggled from the first summer, but this year it became much worse. Our home was regularly 78-82 degrees, even with the AC running constantly, and we eventually had to move our mattress downstairs in the living room just to try and sleep. Method installed the HVAC system. After being told the warranty had expired, I had another HVAC company take a look. Their technician identified what was an obvious installation/workmanship issue and evidence that the refrigerant had leaked out. He recommended I contact the original installer before paying for an expensive repair because the issue was so clearly a mistake on their end. He mentioned that his company always honors that kind of work even outside of warranty. I contacted Method, explained the situation, and was told management (Cody) would call me back. After multiple service request follow ups, and more than two weeks, that call never happened. I eventually received another call from the front desk reiterating that the warranty had expired. Never the communication from Cody I was told to expect. I understand warranties have limits, but I expected a company to at least investigate a potential workmanship issue and follow through on a promised callback. If this was my business, I would feel importance in at least investigating an issue if it may have been our poor skills causing the issue. Method may be great in other areas, but that is not the experience we had. We are now facing a significant repair bill on a two year old home, as a result of their poor workmanship and lack of accountability. If accountability, communication, and standing behind your work matter to you, I would encourage you to ask some questions before choosing them.
