Wow. We were blown away with how great this place was!…read more It seems like a good portion of their business is to-go, but we dined in recently and would happily go again. The portions are large (my burrito was giant!), the prices are competitive enough, the food is delicious, and the employees were all very nice. The space was very bright and clean. When you eat in, you're given chips and salsas for the table to start, which was a nice touch. Our meals (the aforementioned burrito and my husband's half chicken combo meal) took about 15 minutes to come out as everything is made to order. The chicken combo meal came with two sides (he went with the Mexican rice and beans), and also arrived with some grilled spring onions, a roasted jalapeño, and a full pack of locally made corn tortillas. Thankfully, it's 'help yourself' to-go containers because we definitely both ended up with leftovers. Afterwards, we were meeting up with some friends and immediately started recommending they check this spot out since they live nearby. We already can't wait to go again sometime soon!

Immediately upon entering you can smell the chicken blended with Mexican spices. There is an open grill along the back wall with spatchcocked chickens laid out flat . We were greeted and seated and served chips with three varieties of salsa. I had the half chicken with two sides and my husband had the steak burrito. The chicken was excellent. It was so flavorful. The spices were blended so well and the chicken was tender and juicy. The burrito was massive stuffed with tender steak. The food was tasty and delicious. I definately will be back. But here I was in Lincolnwood Mall on a Sunday afternoon when I remembered a co-worker had brought in some fantastic smelling chicken for lunch one day last year. She said it was leftovers from CM Chicken in the Lincolnwood mall. I promptly put it on my list and forgot about it until Sunday. We asked about the most popular menu items and used the feedback to order snow chicken (served with a mound of raw onions and a sweet, mayo-like sauce) and the garlic soy tikku wings. We brought it home because no one needs to be eating wings in front of strangers. The food was still hot when we got it home and discovered one of the orders also came with sweet-pickled chunks of what appeared to be a cruciferous vegetable. Cabbage-like but not cabbage. Since it was also white, we paired it with the snow chicken accoutrement. The snow chicken was insanely crisp. The sweet sauce and onions with it were not our thing, but better than we expected. And it stayed crisp when we refrigerated overnight and ate it cold the next day. But the garlic soy wings... wow. That was really, seriously tasty. Even worth the $17 dollars that brings the cost of mall food perilously close to airport food. Loved the slightly sweet and substantially hot glaze on that stuff. Not too much garlic. Not too much soy. Just enough to know what you're eating. You can bet that the next time we're picking up an online order at Kohl's, we'll be back!

The quality is not at the level of the inimitable Dave's or Hot Chi, but better than fast food (excluding the Spicy McCrispy®, with a Sprite, that's another conversation for another day). I ordered two tenders so I'd have something for the beer at Green Mill next door to wash down. The Tenders were just about to be made fresh, and thus I got them as fresh as they come. While not the most thorough or crispy breading ever, the chicken had a medium light coating of medium crispitude. The breading had some basic seasoning, but what stood out was the chicken, which was tender for white meat (I think), and had some saltiness seemingly from being brined. The staffer working behind the counter was kind and friendly, and for chicken made fresh, it came out in a reasonable timeframe. Final verdict: while not a destination, KKC is perfectly fine for some textbook "good" chicken if one is in the area and needs something to put in one's stomach.

I never thought I would ever eat food from a gas station, but this was the only time I broke down and did. The crispiness of the skin, plus the flavor was on point! Add the biscuits, mashed taters and cole slaw and you had a meal. Fast forward to 2025, and KKC has moved from the gas station to a proper storefront. Located just down the street from The Green Mill and my favorite goat meat taco place (Birrieria Zaragoza). The chicken and biscuits are still just as tasty, they still run out of side at the end of the night, but so glad they are here. Much nicer than trying to find parking in a gas station to get chicken. The Doctor, Queen and I decided to stop in there for a bite to eat after spending several hours at The Green Mill listening to the wonder Chris Foreman on the Hammond organ. I remember when this space was a Mexican restaurant, so it is spacious with plenty of seating. We placed our order and the gentleman working the counter was pleasant. The food came up fast and was hot and delish. The side dishes are a good compliment to the chicken, if they have them. Not surprised as the gas station locations use to routinely run out of sides. Minus some missing sides, I have already been back to get food and will be returning. Be aware that while there is street parking, it can be difficult, especially with concerts at The Riviera or Aragon Brawlroom

She greeted us and didn't rush us as we looked through the menu. The inside of the restaurant is spacious and clean. I arrived closer to them opening so there were ample sitting available. Based on the inside they can accommodate a variety of group sizes. The vibe of the restaurant helped them get to five stars. They were playing a lot of classic 2000s music. For a moment I forgot I wasn't at a karaoke bar when a few of my favorites played. I ordered the mac-n-cheese & two drumsticks meal. I have a rule that I always order the mac-n-cheese if someone has it one the menu. Since I was dining-in a staff member brought the food to my table. The chicken looked delicious and the mac-n-cheese looked a little iffy. The chicken of course was delicious. It was a perfect mix of crispy and juicy. I was nervous to try the mac-n-cheese but I was blown away. It was a bright orange color so I thought it would give Kraft mac-n-cheese but it didn't. I ended up eating everything on my plate! Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by the food. I can easily see myself coming back when I'm in the area. It's a good vibe and the food was delicious.

I arrive within twenty-one minutes buying only a quarter's worth of time at the parking meter thinking surely that would be enough time to grab my carryout order? Guys, why was I waiting an additional twenty minutes for food when nobody was in this restaurant? I hate when a restaurant draaaaaaags without giving any reasons. Thali shops have literal fast food. Not in the American sense but the foods are as simple as crepes (dosa) served with chutney. The other items would need more time. Curries, biriyani, etc Ordered an onion dosa and a masala dosa. Texture was different from what I'm accustomed to eating. But I'm wanting something similar to South Indian style. The onion dosa contained what looked like a full, medium sized onion. In Southie style it should be pan fried till brown, sometimes incorporated into the dosa or stuffed inside, this was barely translucent. Didn't slap. The masala dosa was mid. Didn't touch much. Hate throwing away food but.. Not wasting the stomach on barely good. Something about the texture of the dosa wasn't... It just wasn't good. One and done. If a restaurant offers dosa, it's gotta be great. Maybe their other foods are better?
