On a recent trip to Chicago, I was staying at the Hampton Inn Chicago North Loyola, and couldn't help but notice that this location was literally 130 steps from the hotel (I counted), and is open until 3:30AM on weekends (doubtless due to its proximity of the Loyola University campus nearby). So, I made the long walk over, braving the cold. Inside, well, it's what I'd expect, if a bit more nicely appointed than some down in Texas. The menu was familiar, so I ordered the three finger combo. I made my way back to the hotel so that I could dine and watch TV, and the meal was exactly what I've come to expect from this brand: Nice, tender chicken strips with a comforting seasoning, and the signature Cane's sauce to dip them in. Crinkle fries could have used a bit more color, but were fine dipping into the supplied ketchup. My Coke Zero from the fountain was cold and well mixed. Look, it's not a fancy place, it's not trying to be. It's also not trying to be a flavor experience to lands far away, it's American style fried chicken, but the good news is that you can depend on it being the same wherever you go. Yum! read more

Limited menu, no frills basically. Tendies, fries, sauce. Tasty. If you're a big fan of dipping sauces, you may want to preemptively order an extra Canes sauce. This review is long overdue. I heard this place was pretty good for fast food, so my mom and I came here on Mother's Day for takeout. We ordered the Caniac Combo which includes 6-piece chicken tenders with two sauces, toast, coleslaw, and a large drink. 1) They didn't tell us the large lemonade is extra 30 cents. We aren't gonna fight them on that but they should've let us know. 2) We asked for takeout and they gave us the plate to dine-in. So they had to switch that. 3) We almost always check the food before leaving but didn't this time. So when we got home in the burbs, we saw there was only 4 chicken tenders and one sauce. Basically, we paid for a 6-piece and got the 4-piece. My mom called right away (I forgot the lady's name but she for sure wrote it down) and the lady told us to just come back. Which would be a waste of time since we aren't about to go back 45 min for chicken tenders. My mom asked for a gift card or voucher to pay the difference and the lady said "okay, it'll be mailed within a week." It never came. If you're not going to send one, don't say you will. Their French fries and coleslaw are great additions to your meal, but the real side winner goes to the Texas toast which is a right off the burner piece of garlic bread that will rock your socks off! Even on a busy lunch day, they were still able to keep this spot feeling clean for all customers. The cashier was friendly and even offered to deliver my second to-go order after I finished eating my first one inside the restaurant. This was only my second time ordering food online from this establishment. BOTH times, I had to wait 30 minutes for the order after my arrival. Each time, I approached the guy at the register, told him my name and told him I had an online order. Each time, after I arrived 10 minutes after the recommended time, and the person I spoke to said they were working on it. Then, 30 minutes later, I get my food. This is completely unacceptable!! The reason I order online is for the speed of the transaction. I told this to the "manager" today. All he had to say to me was "my bad". Raising Cane's is an example of one of those places that has a very limited menu but executes those menu items to perfection. Stopped by on a weekday for lunch and was immediately greeted by a marquee celebrating the Loyola Ramblers making it into the elite eight. It was pretty busy with people (mostly students it seemed), but the turnover seemed pretty quick. We ordered, grabbed our drinks, and had to wait a little as they prepared some fresh chicken fingers. Jeremy C and I were able to split a Caniac Combo which comes with 6 chicken fingers, fries, texas toast, Cole slaw, and a drink. The chicken fingers are a little smaller than your typical chicken tenders but are pretty filling. The crinkle cut fries are nice and crispy. And that Cane's sauce. Oh my I dipped the tenders, fries, toast, basically anything I could get my hands on got dipped in that sauce. It's peppery and unlike any other dipping sauce I've had. Parking in the area is limited, there's street parking and a little lot behind but I think it's supposed to be only for the businesses in the building next to it. But it is right next to the Loyola train station if you're on public transportation! read more

I've always enjoyed the chicken fingers here. It's juicy and not salty. I do wish it had more crisp but that's just my preference. The house sauce isn't really for me. I don't think I'll get extra sauce next time. The toast though is one of my favorite items here after the chicken fingers. I recommend you get extra because one toast is just not enough. I will say it was disheartening to see that despite the extent they went to placing all these signs throughout the restaurant to enforce masks and social distancing people still didn't listen. Smooth fast food operation. The staff greeted us kindly through their mask and after ordering a 3-finger combo, they threw in an extra for Friday night (it was ready before we had filled our drink). The same cashier seemed ready to do more than minimum, tracking down a bulb to replace one that was out in their "One Love" sign above the booths (see photos of the dining room). Lots of comfortable seating and appreciate the fountains with separately brewed sweet and unsweet tea. I have liked "Rasing Cane's" ever since they made their way to Chicagoland. I believe this Rogers Park location is the only one within the city limit and literally steps away from the CTA Loyola Red Line station. I introduced my parents to some unhealthy, but satisfying chicken fingers after our North Shore excursion. I mentioned this on another "Rasing Cane's" review in Evergreen Park; the simplicity of the menu is great and I know exactly what I want based on my current hunger level. No matter how I hungry I had been, I never needed to devour "The Caniac Combo," including six (6) chicken fingers, fries, a piece of Texas Toast, a cup of coleslaw, two (2) cups of their signature sauce, and 32. oz. fountain drink. By the way, those chicken fingers are pretty big, while some can be a bit giant. They can quickly fill me up along with the crinkled fries. My usual order is "The Box Combo," which is similar to the Caniac, yet gets downgraded by having just four (4) chicken fingers and 22 oz. fountain drink. This is probably a more economical option, for it's a few bucks cheaper and they have self-serving fountain drink station (and crushed ice)! With that being said, the size of cup they provide doesn't matter that much. The service was fine at the Rogers Park location. The people working there were courteous and respectful. The dining room was decorated with local flavors (Loyola University memorabilia and Senn High School jerseys). My mom is often reluctant to use public washrooms, but she was ok with theirs. I don't really have to reiterate that I will be back to "Rasing Cane's." That's a given and I will let you guys know when I check on Yelp! read more
