    batata vada
    Sam L.

Everything here was super yummy! Went with a couple of friends, so we ordered a malai kofta, palak paneer, and baigan bhartha to split. I also got the batata vada and chai for myself. Everything was great but I especially loved the chai and palak paneer. I was definitely impressed by this place and would totally recommend it!

    Mango kulfi

I don't really understand the low reviews - I've been here at least twice and loved it both times. Last time, we got a pani puri, masala dosa, onion uttapam, and mango kulfi, and I'd probably rank the savory items in that order. I loved the pani puri and masala dosa (although I wish that they gave more potatoes, the filling was not very much and it was pretty stingy but the dosa was crispy and their sauces were yummy) - I would definitely go back and get those things again. Both those food items are actually on my list of foods to eat when I'm feeling down and need a pick-me-up. The onion uttapam was solid, but probably wouldn't order again, although I heated some up for leftovers later and it was pretty tasty. The mango kulfi was yummy, but definitely not the main thing to get but if you are in the mood for dessert, a sold option.

    Kachori Chaat
    Nikith E.

I think my favorite item here was the Kachori chaat. It was very tasty and spicy! I also really really like the shrikhand with puri as it came with puri, a savory curry, and shrikhand which is sweet. The service was good as well. The food came out quickly and the staff were nice. The vibe of the restaurant was like a normal place. It didn't look special, but it also didn't look bad.

When you come here, you have to try the Undhiyu. The kachories are magnificent. Prices are reasonable and ambiance is nice. Staff were very friendly.

I came with my dinner group, and we had a really good time. Our server was really friendly and helped us pick out some items to share. We tried Dahi Batata Puri for the first time and it was really fun. It's these little hollow crispy spheres that were stuffed with a cold paste mixture of potato, onion, tomato and spices. It was then topped with chutney and sauce and fried vermicelli. I hadn't had anything quite like it before. We also split an order of Mixed Pakora and that was very tasty! Then we ordered our own dishes and passed them around. I got the Palak Paneer and, while it wasn't quite how other places I've been have done it or how I prefer it, I really enjoyed it. Of course, we also passed around a plate of Garlic Naan. They are BYOB and the bill was $104.66 (before tip) for 5 people, which I feel is very reasonable.

    Masala Dosa
    Chandrika R.

Was craving real Indian food this Diwali weekend so I headed to Devon Avenue. I had pain puri, a masala dosa, and a mango lassi. They were all solid. The masala had peas in it which was a nice addition. I ordered a bunch of takeout as well - pan bhaji and deluxe bhel. They were out of idli and medu vada, which was pretty disappointing. The food was solid and the staff was standard. The 4 stars is bc there was nothing overwhelmingly stellar. The food did satisfy my cravings though.

We started off with chips and salsa, and the salsa was a bit too spicy for me, but everyone else enjoyed it. We started with the Chicken Poblano - a savory dish with creamy poblano sauce mixed with chicken and sliced poblano peppers topped with corn. We all enjoyed it. Most of the reviews recommended the enchiladas and we ordered a variety of them. The Enchiladas Poblanos stuffed with chicken and cheese. The poblano sauce was rich and smoky. We also had the Enchiladas Morita. They were filled with shrimp and cheese. It was so flavorful and the morita chile added so much flavor. Each dish was served with a side jicama salad. Their special was a shrimp pasta with lobster. It came with full lobster tail. The sauce was creamy and flavorful. It is also BYOB, which is a nice option. Service was excellent, friendly offered recommendations. This is probably one of my favorite Mexican restaurants and highly recommend.

I arrive within twenty-one minutes buying only a quarter's worth of time at the parking meter thinking surely that would be enough time to grab my carryout order? Guys, why was I waiting an additional twenty minutes for food when nobody was in this restaurant? I hate when a restaurant draaaaaaags without giving any reasons. Thali shops have literal fast food. Not in the American sense but the foods are as simple as crepes (dosa) served with chutney. The other items would need more time. Curries, biriyani, etc Ordered an onion dosa and a masala dosa. Texture was different from what I'm accustomed to eating. But I'm wanting something similar to South Indian style. The onion dosa contained what looked like a full, medium sized onion. In Southie style it should be pan fried till brown, sometimes incorporated into the dosa or stuffed inside, this was barely translucent. Didn't slap. The masala dosa was mid. Didn't touch much. Hate throwing away food but.. Not wasting the stomach on barely good. Something about the texture of the dosa wasn't... It just wasn't good. One and done. If a restaurant offers dosa, it's gotta be great. Maybe their other foods are better?
