The technician offered to do the work outside his company and like an idiot, I took him up on it. $1200 later, a sewage flood in my house and three ignored appointments to "get it taken care of" the problem is exactly what it was when I started. Home Choice Warranty scheduled this company to replace my Water Heater. Paid $75 for a 5 minute visit. Tech said Home Choice doesn't cover the costs for replacement and I might have to cover a charge of $500 to $1000. Water heater is still under warranty for a full replacement and Home Choice will cover the Labor to replace. Daugherty wants $1300 "Admin Fees" to do the work. Sounds crooked to us. Choice Home Warrant assigned Daugherty to diagnose and fix my water heater. Daugherty gave me a 9 hour appointment window which is their way of saying we will get there when we want to. When I complained I was told that the tech would not wait for me if I was a minute late after they arrived. I guess they don't like complainers since they cancelled my appointment by text after we hung up. After reading other reviews I am glad they cancelled. Avoid at all costs. Unfortunately I'm a Tennent and dealing with a home warranty forcing me to use this plumbing company. They have been working on my hot water heater and messing it up for weeks, replacing parts and it still not working. I've been without hot water for 4 days now. When I call for an update as to when they will be back out, I get attitude from the lady answering the phone. I am incredibly disappointed with the service my elderly parents received from Daugherty Plumbing. They were charged $85 for services they did not need, stemming from a mix-up between Daugherty and Choice Home Warranty, which had nothing to do with my parents. When I contacted Daugherty to address the issue, I spoke with the office manager and requested a refund. Instead of resolving the matter, I was given multiple excuses as to why they would not honor the refund. She insisted that the technician had inspected the water heater--something that simply did not happen. It seems the technician exaggerated the report just to justify the charge. It's shameful that they would take advantage of an elderly family in this way. I would caution anyone to be wary of doing business with this company, as their integrity and customer service leave much to be desired. read more

This company was dispatched from our Home Warranty provider: Choice. My husband submitted a claim early in the week and Daughtery Plumbing scheduled the appointment time for Friday between 3pm and 8pm. He was proactively calling the phone number provided and seeing if they could come earlier than Friday. He called twice, no answer and left a message. No call back! Then called few times on Friday to confirm if they were coming and again no pickup or call back. By this point, we figured the company would be a no show and that's exactly what happened. The same experience as another reviewer. Unbelievable, terrible service and no accountability whatsoever! Avoid this company at all costs! It was probably a blessing they never came because they probably would've done a horrible Job just like their horrible service. Big thumbs down! read more

I live in Killeen Texas. I thought I had a problem with my Maytag Water softener system control module So I put in a claim to Choice Home Warranty. They sent out this guy from Daugherty plumbing (owner?). He tells me the control module is obsolete and tells Choice I need a whole new system knowing damn well my claim would be denied and it was. So I paid him $75 for nothing. I called a different tech who knew what he was doing. He checked out the system and reset the control module. He tested the water and everything is fine now. I would not recommend Daugherty Plumbing for anything. read more

The receptionist for this place is extremely unprofessional, cuts you off when speaking, and provides absolutely no help or answers whatsoever. They give you a 9 hour window, and they still don't show up on time, or manage to contact you to let you know. Instead they show up after 6pm, on a Friday. 0/10 do not recommend. read more

My water heater and installation were approved as covered through the warranty and Daugherty completely price gouged me on "uncovered items" (right at $2k out of pocket for additional parts). It was so bad that it was cheaper for me to forgo my warranty and get it done on my own as other, reputable companies were charging less to do the entire install. read more

I had to call them out for our hot water tank going out. They sent Charles and he was super helpful got on the phone with the warranty company and got them to approve the work. I like to see and ask questions about what all is going on with stuff being added to My home and he was very helpful and knowledgeable. I have read the many poor reviews, and I think this is a good example of a bad employee can ruin your name. I had a great experience having a brand new propane water heater installed by Bradley and Marvin today. I use First American and called in a ticket. The guys were out the next day to take a look and they agreed that it needed to be replaced. They called the insurance from the driveway and got it approved. This was on a Friday. They came out today, Tuesday, and in about 90 minutes, replaced the water heater and tray, which included installing some new copper. The guys were efficient, very easy to talk to, and explained the operation of the unit afterwards. If you get Daugherty with your insurance - ask for them by name! read more

Our home warranty called Daugherty Plumbing for a solidly backed up kitchen drain and leaking pipe. They sent Justin out who did an EXCELLENT job. He diagnosed two different problems and quickly had both fixed. I would highly recommend Daugherty again and certainly ask for Justin if available. I also should mention that Justin had to fight flood waters to get to us, and he still got to us in a very timely manner. read more

Veey poor. Sent to me by CHW and walked into my garage and asked if I had flushed ny water heater. Once I said no, Bradley said, "that's the problem". We don't do that, that's the homeowners responsibility. He didn't check to see if there was any other cause of the reset button to keep tripping. When I had researched, the problem could have been due to a faulty button, thermostat, or wires. Took the money for the service call and after I flushed it, the button tripped the next evening. Very frustrated and disappointed. Emailed them to tell them that they took my miney and was told if I would have asked nicely and told them what he told me to do had not work, they could have scheduled another appointment. read more

Daugherty Plumbing installed a water heater provided by my home warranty company, Choice Home Warranty. Despite my request for a breakdown of the $890.00 they charged, they replied to several requests with promises only. The only parts they provided not covered by the warranty were a drip pan and two pipe joints. They did remove the old water heater. I asked specifically for the costs of parts, labor and overhead and received no response. The installer, Robert, seemed to be very experienced and did the install in just 3 hours -points for him. Choice Home Warranty sent this company out. The tech never diagnosed the problem and hooked the washing machine back up, saying everything was good. My wife and I ran the washing machine two days later, and the laundry room flooded, causing damage to the drywall, insulation, baseboards and paint. Obviously the issue wasn't ever fixed. We called to have them come back out, the owner said they would have someone out the next day. Never heard from anyone again and they don't answer their phones, texts, or anything. Choice Home Warranty says they are not liable for the damage, so here we are with a bad drain and water damage to our home. It appears everyone has the same issue with this company. Terrible company! the kid that showed up didn't inspect it, demanded the call fee before briefly looking at it and saying "it's broke" then submitted claims for $400 worth of parts he said were broken(how did he know he didn't inspect it!) in addition to the water heater. I called the owner who was rude and too busy doing something else at his house to bother with me. Couldn't get him to give me a date and time of fix, lied and said company hadn't approved it yet the home warranty company said they'd told him 3x's they'd approved him to do the work!!! Needless to say after 3 days with no water I had to hire my own plumber! Don't ever use this company as they obviously don't have the staff or qualified, ethical staff to do the job, and most certainly are not ethical or professional! Will told them he replaced a thermocouple that clearly has not been replaced and that I wouldn't know because I was present the entire time of the service call. I would never use them again. I had a simple toilet fix in two toilets. First, the customer service person told me they could not call me 30 minutes ahead but would put me first on the schedule so I waited at home. When I called at 10:00 (since they had not arrived yet) they told me they put someone else in front of me but failed to let me know. The 2nd customer service person told me they could contact me 30 minutes before so I went to work. Got a call a couple of hours later and met the worker at my house. First toilet he basically did nothing to, and it is still turning on and off on its own. The 2nd toilet he replaced a piece but failed to tighten the bolt underneath and there was water dripping out of my toilet. Horrible customer service and repair work. read more

Worst plumbing company I have ever seen in my 65 years. They charged Choice Home Warranty 500 for labor for one hour work and attempted to charge me 500 for "things not covered". eventually dropped it to 355 after multiple calls challenging the other charges. I was forced to pay it. so total of 855 for labor to install a water heater and a booster because Choice did not provide my size heater. Choice covered the cost of the booster and labor to install it. So what's with the other 355. Bradley brought the wrong booster. We had to wait 2 weeks for him to come back. He didn't want to install it, because he said they are no good and he hates them. Google and you find these boosters are awesome. He wanted to just leave it with me and I told him to install what was paid for. He eventually installed it wrong, and we had zero water pressure. He called a real plumber and they told him how to install it. He then installed it upside down, with a tee leaking and left the drip pan full of water and turned my water heater all the way up. He left knowing we only had lukewarm water after the installation of the booster. He didn't know how to set it. I told him he should get the manual on how to set the booster. He said he didn't have the manual and he didn't. After he left, I downloaded the manual myself and easily set the booster to the right temp hot water. He knew it was wasnt right and left it that way anyway. I called to have him come back and clean out the drip pan and fix the leak on the tee he left leaking. Dispatch said he couldn't come back until next week. I told them to send someone else then. He came back and did what I asked him to. I told him and his helper to have a nice day. Neither one acknowledged and left. This company is the worst I have ever dealt with in my 65 years. Dont allow your warranty folks send these guys to you and don't use them yourself. They are crooked in dealings, incompetent with plumbing skills, service time is horrible, customer service is rude and obnoxious. I needed to write this now so I wouldn't ever forget. Don't use Daugherty Plumbing. My home warranty company called them and asked them to come out and fix the water line to my freezer that had been leaking. He simply came out, turned off the water, took my $125 and left. When I called them to ask him to actually come and replace the valve, he seemed put off, asked my repairman if he could do it and then when I said he needed to replace it, he insisted that it would be the following week. We filed a claim with our home warranty for a leaking hot water heater. I hadn't heard from them after a few hours so gave them a call. Gave them my location and he said he'd check with his tech and give me a call. He called me back a little while later and said he had someone in the area and they'd be there within 30-45 mins. I work from home, so no big deal for me. Charles came out and determined we needed a new hot water heater. He got the approval, set everything to drain in the meantime, and then went and got the new water heater. My old one wasn't on a pan so thinking we'd probably need a replacement, we went out and bought a pan just in case. He set up the pan and the drain for it. Overall just a really nice and personable guy. I'm surprised to see some of the negative reviews, but my experience was nothing but great. read more
