Brand new freshly remodeled location. Fun with lots of game machines for the kids (& adults too). There's even a restaurant where parents can sit and have lunch/dinner or just appetizers. There's also, a nice bar for adults. I never noticed drunk people so that's not an issue. I highly recommend going on Wens bc it's 50% off all gaming meaning you buy your normal amount of play tokens but all the machines are updated to the 1/2 price. You get to play double as much and get double the tickets credited to your card. More tickets means you can cash out for an even nicer prize. So much potential for this in Bakersfield... I don't love the location but the facility looks great inside. A large bar with TVs evwrywhere... a set of large family sized booths dividing the bar and play area. Its has the makings of a great establishment... good bones to start. So where did this location go wrong. Service was horrible. From walking in you know its gonna be bad. The hostess wasn't clearly not happy to be there... the server was was overwhelmed with the simplest request. Everything came our slow... wate and drinks.... Silverware... apps... food. It was a mess all around. We ordered the fish and chips and a chicken salad... then 20mins later added a pretzel. After another 30 mins we got our pretzel... so we all started on that. After the server was MIA for much too long... we asked about our food. The pretzel was for the 3rd member of our party. And he knew it wasn't an app. He blamed it on the kitchen before checking and the food came right away. And the fries were cold. Don't lie to me and bring cold fries. If you gonna lie make it seem like this came right up. Food was meh. Huge single piece of fish. No tartar sauce. Had to ask. Cold fries... greasy fish. Though maybe fresh it would have been better. Visited on a busy weekend night for a friend's birthday and had expected subpar drinks and service based off the reviews across yelp. We found two seats at the very busy bar while we waited for the rest of our group to arrive and were taken care of by a bartender named Brandon. Visited this new location on a Friday night around 7pm and it was extremely busy! They were only taking reservations to sit at a non bar area table. The bar was open seating. Luckily we were able to find seats for our party of 3 (waited about 5 mins) We ordered food and drinks. They were pretty busy at the bar that It did take a while for them to take our order, understandably so. Food didn't take long to come out. Truffle fries and wings. I'd order that again. By the time we left, close to 10pm, it had cleared out enough to where there didn't seem to be a wait to sit and the arcade area was not crowded. I visited D&B's on a Monday shortly after opening. The staff inside were very charismatic and kind. The ambiance screams fun, it's contagious you can't help , but get wrapped up in the excitement. I sat in the restaurant portion of the room and tried a few cocktails. The food is priced similarly to what you'd pay at any other restaurant nearby. Came in for lunch on a Monday. Most tables were open so we were seated quickly. Since it is a new business they were training which caused some inconsistencies but that is to be expected. It continued on through our meal and at one point our waitress asked if we needed anything from her for the next 10-15 minutes because she was going to in the back and roll silverware, there were people standing around everywhere 7at the hostess stand. I ordered the Philly French dip and it was neither. Not that the sandwich was bad just wasn't what I expected and there was very little meat but lots of mushrooms. My mom ordered the all American cheese burger, she said it was just okay. They were still adding new game. It looks like it is going to be a bit pricey to play the games. Update: 1.2.2023 Started inside with very poor customer service from the rude host in the front around 6:30pm. We reserved a spot for 6:45pm and was told it will be an hour wait. We then told her we had a reservation and she ignored our request and let 6 groups come in before us. Obvious they just came in and asked her since we were standing right there. She didnt help us until the other host came up and we complained about not getting seated. She told us before hand our table was being cleaned. They had a lot of tables open and clean and sat us down in a dirty table and then took around 5 minutes to finally clean it. Poor service from the host. Glad to see we are getting more and more options. First of all, yes this location is a bit smaller than the one's I've been to down south. But at the same time it's big enough to enjoy some sports on their jumbo screens, play some games with family and friends. Also, I forgot how tasty their menu is. We ordered quite a bit of food. We ordered wings, korean ribs, pretzel dogs, ribeye, Beastmode burger and a delicious and probably my favorite dish I ate, voodoo pasta. You have to come out and support this chain. How do you review a place that you work at? How can you not be biased? Well you just keep it honest. First and foremost, no one is prefect, even a place with 5 stars still has room for improvement. Looking through the eyes of the guest, coming here all depends on timing. If you're here during the times that there is no host, finding a seat becomes all about preference. Booths are great for families or even your on a date. Being a bigger dude if im by myself, I go for the high top tables or low top tables in "sports". The bar is also an option if you're on a date or by yourself or even smaller groups, but employees aren't allowed to sit at the bar at the location they work at. Food wise, well that depends on your taste buds. I can destroy their wings, regular bone in buffalo sauce. I am adventurous and get their hot honey for a bit of change. I love the salmon with jasmine rice and the shrimp pasta. Oh those bell peppers add so much flavor and lifts up the plate. I also enjoy the cauliflower elote, but that's my way of pretending I'm eating healthy. Now when you step onto that carpet, you enter a different environment, literally. From a the view of guest, everything is neat and separated into islands or sections. You've got your coin pushers, your racing games, the more active games like basketball ball and axe throwing. The music is a bit loud for my liking and mixed with arcade sounds, it makes it hard to hear sometimes. I like that they have games that allow you to play with more than just one person. Prizes! I like that there sectioned off by like age group and type. Let's be honest, you want the big prizes. The best time to come is when the games are half off on Wednesdays. You'll be able to squeeze more of the those chips that you get. If you are a rewards member you'll get more options such as building up your reward level and getting cool stuff like more chips or even food. You know those receipts you get? Take the survey and you'll get either free food or more chips, just make sure to do that before Wednesday as coupons aren't accepted on half off days. read more

Bakersfield isn't exactly booming with fun things to take the kids to do, and it's especially hard to find something to do with both a teenager and a three year old. Dave & Buster's has become a staple fun day activity for us because they have lots to do for both of my kids! The games are mostly geared towards adults and teenagers, but there are plenty of exciting games to keep the little one entertained as well. You can expect to spend a pretty penny when you come in here, but if you pay attention to their specials, you can really get your money's worth. Sometimes they will have half priced games, or different "happy hour" specials. You just have to watch for the deals. That being said - the value for your buck is definitely better here than at other arcades in town. You earn tickets really fast and the prizes will cost you less tickets than they might at other places. Plus, the quality of the items you can win are excellent compared to other arcades. We aren't really big fans of eating here, despite the restaurant being a large part of the Dave & Buster's experience. The TVs are so loud and bright in the eating area that you can't comfortably enjoy the company of those you are there with. And the food quality is just okay - you could go to a fast food restaurant to get a comparable burger and pocket the change. Further, the few times I have decided to eat here, the service was slow and the waiters made everything very complicated by mixing up orders and bringing us the food for other tables. Ive been to several Dave and Busters and this one is disappointing. We came here on a Saturday night to enjoy some drinks, food and games. We bought our game cards upon entering as they have the kiosks right when you walk in. We decided to play some games before sitting down to eat. Most D&B Ive been to have a curfew, apparently not this one. Kids everywhere. At 9 pm on a Saturday this place was 80% teens or younger. Dont expect to play air hockey, it is swarmed with kids. I get that arcade games are for everyone, but D&B has always been an adult arcade from my experience. We came here on date night to get time away from our kids. Half the games in this arcade are tailored to children. We enjoyed a couple games, like the axe throwing, but ultimately left without food or drinks. The family all met here for my nieces graduation. We had a great time. There was a little confusion with the reservation at first,with the help of Estaban he worked it out very well and the staff were very attentive to our party, and the food tasted great, and the drinks were nice and we had a great time and the kids also had a great time with all the games and stuff. The ribeye steak was great. The Carmel churros were good. Everything was very fresh. From the time we showed up Adelina introduced herself and let us know that she could help with whatever we needed. She let us put any extra tables together in her section that we needed, and a gift table. She brought a water dispenser and cups and put them out for anyone that needed water. She showed me the menu specials and how to get the most for what I was paying for and let me know that if you bought the appetizers on the back, they'd come with game cards for the kids! She was organized with all the chaos and people coming at different times, and with their different tabs. You can tell she genuinely likes her job. I was between 2-3 stars on this one because there were some highlights for me and my wife's first visit today. I'll break things down individually because again there are some good things going on. Service: 1/5, the service needs help. When we arrived we saw a hostess podium so we went over there and waited. We picked up a menu and went over it while continuing to wait. After several more minutes we finally walked into the dining area and asked a server is we just seat ourselves. She responded "no, there should be a hostess up there, don't know why she isn't." Another couple minutes the hostess returned, no eye contact, no smile, nothing. We asked her if we could be seated, she asked if we wanted to just sit at the bar, we said no which appeared to annoy her, she grabbed the menus and walked us to a table. Our server was nice but we only saw her 3 times. She took our drinks took our order and brought the bill. Our drinks were never refilled, she never checked on us during our meal so we ended up with empty drinks halfway through the meal. The final service issue was the girl at the prize counter, she acted like she'd rather be anywhere but where she was. She was on her phone when we walked up to the counter, she put it down and barely spoke to us, after we got our prizes I thanked her for her time, she gave me an annoyed half smile and a thumbs up and picked her phone back up. Food: 3/5, the food was alright. The giant pretzel was actually really good, we both enjoyed it a lot. My wings were pretty well cooked, no old oil taste or anything. My wife's chimichurri bowl was alright, the large piece of cauliflower was ice cold in the middle though so that was a bit of a turn off. Games: 5/5, I know it's newer but it's nice to see a full arcade up and running. No broken machines, no broken card systems, everything was running smoothly. The site and app are a little tricky, it almost feels intentional. if you're a first time member getting a game card, make sure to talk to the people up front before using the app or the game card kiosk. I wanted to redeem a 100 credits promotion, but you had to make the purchase through the phone app. The kiosk doesn't present an option to redeem rewards or promotions. Asked the arcade desk if it was still possible to get the promotion, though was informed I would have to purchase more credits through the app in order to get the promotion. I'm not sure how someone gets a physical game card and also redeems the credit promotion if you have to purchase a digital game card through phone app. There is a $3 fee for the physical card. Felt like too much of a puzzle to get promos. Feels like a finicky experience. Another example, the Website mentions half off food, no disclaimer about needing to be on certain days. Though when registering on the app, the promo reads that half off is only valid Monday through Thursday. Don't get me wrong, I am happy to pay full price for food, but I definitely got hooked by the website to try this place out. Happy I tried this place. Unfortunately, it was a one and done experience. Regularly take my kids & nieces here (during daylight hours) Happy hour starts at 4 ends at 7 and from what I can tell it's pretty separated from the arcade area (almost complete separation w the exception of drinks & food CAN be brought to that side, tho, during our trips? I've never seen anyone eating on or near the games. It's really easy to do both, game while you're waiting for food, grub out, then go back to the arcade. It's ALOT of fun. For grown ups and kids alike. I highly recommend this place! We love Flight & John's Incredible Pizza, but this place just is ALWAYS a hit! (& it's right in front of the Valley Plaza mall?!) The place is buzzing with cool things to do, air hockey, video games, TV's and it even has a trendy bar area. They had a cool food/video card deal for $29.99. It included a meal of 8 wings and a $20.00 card to use on the games. The wings were tasty and cooked to our liking. We also tried the Caesar salad wrap. The wrap did not come with chicken so we added it for an extra charge, of course. The food is okay, I mean it's a chain restaurant and it ranks right up there with being a chain restaurant. I joined a group of friends here and I was excited to try it. We had a reservation, made by a friend. When I arrived I gave the name and was taken to my table. It is a large entertainment space wirh big screen t.vs and its quite loud. The opposite area has video game machines and such. Not exactly what I expected. When we all got there all 7 of us, we ordered, I got a martini which was terrible. I had to send it back and the glass came half empty. The wait staff all seemed to not be noticeable among the patrons. They seem to be all over in the attire which seemed sloppy. Food took a bit kitchen was backed up so non impressive. The location is a busy area next to the mall, which always has issues ( the mall). When you walk in it is big and open, dining and bar to the right, games to the left. The menu was small compared to the other Dave and Busters locations we've been to. Probably because it's a new location and they are testing it. We were looking for the blackened chicken alfredo. We had everything come out at the same time, that way the kids can go play before all the food comes out. The game area is ok, some games were broken which is crazy since they barely opened a few months ago. You can tell they are building more due to the black curtain covering the other half of the game area. Im sure once it's done it should be better ( fingers crossed). If you are coming from a different location, go straight to the reward area and have the attendant load your funds. The machines will just give you an error message. The staff were friendly and very diligent, and the food came out in a timely manner. The food was ok, nothing was amazing. Though their fries were perfect! Salty, seasoned and cooked perfectly. I recently visited Dave and Buster's with GF and I have to say that I was extremely disappointed with the service we received. From the moment we walked in, it was clear that the staff didn't really care about our presence. We had to wait a long time before anyone even acknowledged us, and when they finally did, they seemed annoyed that we were. Hostess seated us in a table and few minutes pass and another hostess seemed bothered that we were seated in that section as we did not belong there as asking why did we were seating there with an attitude as she may own Dave and Buster's. We ask we can move if it bother's you so much. Which professional restaurant has 4 hostess sitting around in the front. One server for the whole restaurant as multiple servers are just walking around. Management should be fired as I have not seen management on the floor. One beer and wait 44 minutes before the server reach out if we needed another drink and to ordering food. Brand new location that opened up at Valley Plaza Mall during recently, and let me tell you, it's one of the best D&B's I've ever been to. The service at this business is horrible. We made reservations for a table for 20 on January 27, 2025, for February 9, 2025, When I arrived for my reservation on February 9, 2025. I was told I would have to wait for a table and there was no guarantee how long the wait would be because they could not require anyone to leave the tables despite the fact that I had a reservation and no one contacted me to let me know my reservation would not be honored in advance. Dave and Busters was a good time on a Saturday Night. I went on the Saturday before Halloween and it wasn't too packed, i think it helps that it's a very large places so lots of places to sit. There was a bit too many people at the check in, like 3-4 hostesses so it made it confusing who to go to to check in. The high top booths are a little uncomfy to sit in and I wish they had hooks for the tables for the girlies handbags but the service was good (3.5/5 - not out of this world but not super bad either). The games are very cool, great race car games but perhaps D&B should invest in a beer pong game like BLVD, (that's my favorite game). Lastly, the food. I got the carnitas nachos and they were good but i asked for no jalapeño and they put them on it anyway and i suffered a bit with heartburn while playing games and it was a bit salty but the wings were good and my friend got the steak and said it was very good.
