I was pleasantly surprised this visit. I am not sure if they are under new management or if the staff are just more experienced now but we had a great time. All the games my daughter played worked, and our food was hot, flavorful and delicious. Several managers were walking around to ensure all patrons were well taken care of and there was a nice karaoke event going on in the back. I only came for the camaraderie and community gathering. I have been here before and the service was so lacking that I had no desire to return. In all fairness during this visits our server "Money Mark" was markedly better at accommodating customer inquiries and requests. He was hospitable despite being short staffed and handling multiple responsibilities. Have to give credit where it is due. I was disappointed in no happy hour food specials. Stopped in to find some entertaimemt for my 3 year old grand. Overall, it was not very crowded. Service was a bit slow, and games for three year olds were a bit lacking. Sanitation was good, generally. However, I had to re-wipe the table in the dining area, and several of the games had an unknown substance on them. The presentation and quality of the food were great, with no issues. Good selection drinks for adults and children. Games, in my opinion, are suited for older children. I think this is the worst Dave and Buster's in the area. I've been to the locations in Anne Arundel Mall, Fair Oaks Mall and Springfield Mall so I was confident in choosing this location for my husband's 50th birthday. The first issue is a sewage smell but I suppose that has nothing to do with management. My largest complaint was the lack of service. For example, I paid for unlimited drinks ($4/person for fifteen people) but we barely got one drink, let alone refills. I had to bus tables and constantly seek out our wait staff for assistance. I will say the guitar hero game the buttons kept getting jammed but tbh the guitar hero at most arcades are almost always a hit or miss so that's not exclusive to Dave & busters or this particular location. Even when the drinks from the bar were taking longer than usual she was sure to communicate with us that they were backed up on orders (it was a pretty busy night) Anyway I've had nothing but positive experiences going here. Based on the reviews here I think the experience you will have is dependent on YOU. So before you decide to give up on this location at least give it a chance. My experience at Dave & Buster's started off rough but ended on a better note. I was at the bar when I had an unpleasant interaction with a bartender. I didn't catch her name, but she was rude simply because I didn't know the name of the drink I wanted. For the games themselves and the fun environment, Dave & Buster's is A-OK. The parking lot is plentiful and you will not have an issue finding a space. When you enter, the bar is straight ahead, games are to the left, and dining tables are to the right (and some are also in the middle). I was meeting a friend there that was celebrating his birthday. I had a blast playing games like Guitar Hero, that one light tapping one, and the football tire running one. I hadn't been to a D&B location in years, so quite a few of these games were new. They were all welcome additions! I wanted some water, and I didn't see any stations around, so I went to the bar to grab some. A guy looked at me, saying he was going to come back after taking care of some folks, but at least 10 minutes went by and he never did. I had a full text conversation with someone, and just ended up not getting water. And I'm not one of those folks that's going to shout to get a bartender's attention, it's rude! The bar wasn't at full capacity, so if getting something as simple as water will take a while... there should be water stations throughout the place. I saw them behind the bar... just move them to some tables and put a stack of cups next to them. I still have quite a bit of money on a game card, so I will be back to finish it off eventually :). read more

A good place for games, food and big screen sports viewing at the bar! I came here with the Family to celebrate my little cousin's 10th birthday. First and foremost, this place is excellent for kids. They had a ball! Not my choice or first pick as an adult hangout but I must admit D&B is even a great way for the adults to get a break and enjoy some time together; while the kids are away doing their thing. There's a large number of games, a lot of big screens (big +++ for sports fans like me :) ......and it's as loud as it should be. lol. I initially came here with low expectations, but surprisingly, both the food and service was on point. Everything we ordered came out hot, fresh and delicious...with a personal favorite being the Double Pepperoni Flatbread Pizza. Not to mention, strong drinks too. The prices for most items on the food menu are average and all good. It's the games where you tend to payout a lot for. Kids tend to go through their game cards in a matter of minutes and reloading their cards often. But hey.... That's what you came here for!! But in all, it's well worth a visit and great for families. My family and I had a good time. Also, this place is accommodating for large parties such as our group that night. There was just a little bit of a wait for a table (about 30 mins.) but no complaints there given that it was a busy weekend night. As for the parking, there's plenty of ample parking in the parking lot outside the establishment, and on the side of the building. Once inside, just enjoy yourself and be patient on the service as this place gets very busy and things can get a bit slow at times with your food/drink timing.....Hence the star deduction and 3 1/2 star rating, but our server....sorry, I forget her name was the best and constantly checked in on us. For me, this is a good option for a group or to take kids, in the middle of the day on a weekend. It wasn't too crowded, and we had no issues having a chance to play all the games we wanted to play. Everything was clean and well organized. There were a few large birthday parties in the dining area, so we sat at a bar table, and service in the bar area was great. The food options are just okay - mostly bar food, pizza, burgers, nothing above average (also loaded with salt), and they have a wide selection of beer, wine, and mixed drinks that were reasonably priced. It definitely starts to get really crowded around dinner time on a weekend, so I'll stick to daytime hours. read more

The Capitol Heights region doesn't have much going for it. Most restaurants here have terrible food and equally terrible service. And this Dave and Buster's is no different. Food and drinks bland, cold, unappetizing. Servers are only attentive if you have a large group or look like you work nearby and can afford to tip alot. Didn't try the games when I came, just the food. One thing I did find interesting was that they offer a light up ice cube if you ask for it. As we entered through the front doors, we were met by a hostess that was clearly not interested in greeting anyone. I asked a few questions about obtaining a gaming card, and she quickly dismissed me, telling us to ask our waiter once we sit down. I should have started this review off by explaining that this was a summer, Tuesday evening, and there were very few customers in the entire place. Unfortunately, once we found our seats, our waiter was either very new at this job or simply unaware of "everything" (#poorDavid). I tried to ask our waiter the same questions about the gaming cards, which only resulted in more confusion. I'm still baffled and unsure how to actually order food off their little menu cards and get a gaming card. Things got no better after that.... We kept it very simple and only ordered a stuffed nachos platter, salmon over rice and two drinks. It took an absurd amount of time for the food to arrive. I had just joked saying that a restaurant has to work pretty hard to mess up a plate of rice and salmon. Well the kitchen staff at the Capital Heights Dave & Buster accepted the challenge. The rice was oddly hard and chewy and the salmon was well... (#no comment) To add flavor to my salmon, I asked for bbq sauce. If you are wondering why I didn't mention anything about the drinks, well that's because the drinks never came. We asked our waiter twice about the drinks, but we never received them. ...my bbq sauce never arrived either With dinner out of the way, we ventured to play some games. Well, with more than a few games out of service, we were able to salvage the evening by playing a couple rounds of air hockey, and Pac-Man. I've been to other Dave & Buster locations, and the staff at the Capital Heights location definitely missed the mark on many many many opportunities. I can only imagine what the experience on a busy weekend would look like. I rate this place a one star, solely because of the friendly attendant at the ticket exchange / gift room. Took my grandaughter to Dave & Busters for some fun. Walked in about 6:15 pm there were kids running around but it was not crowded so we played some games. It was pretty laid back for the most part. Not as loud as I thought it would be. After playing games we headed over to the restaurant section. I ordered chicken bites and macaroni and cheese for my grandbaby and smash burger sliders and cauliflower for myself. My grandbaby mac & cheese came out looking really watery and was luke warm. The chicken bites were a little to hard but not so hard you couldn't eat them. The smash burger sliders were really good and flavorful. The cauliflower were slightly burnt. We all ordered drinks and food quickly since we were starving. Then the additional wait began. 15 minutes pass and one person's food randomly came out. Another 10 minutes and some other dishes come out, but one is wrong. Then ANOTHER 10 minutes pass and the rest of the dishes come. Three people ordered chicken fingers, but they only gave one person dipping sauce. It took of course several minutes to grab our server's attention to say two people did not get dipping sauce only for her to say she can't get it, she has have to put the order in the kitchen and they bring it out. Excuse me?? You can't go grab dipping sauce?!? Plus, if you already put the order in properly (which she said) it shouldn't need a ticket! They were supposed to had been bring them out so you should be able to go grab them. This was ridiculous. Meanwhile, during this time we still had no drinks. 30 full minutes passed before we got drinks. After we were done eating, they then had the audacity to come bring out one measly dipping sauce, still forgetting another. A WHOLE MESS! We kept trying to get the servers attention to check out and of course couldn't. One in our group complained to a manager and they decided to discount our meals. It took another 20 minutes to bring the checks. We hand the server our cards and it was another 20 minutes until she came back with our signed checks. HOW does it take that long?! We were a large party but nothing excuses this service. The server was terrible and no one seemed to care to help us. She did not know how to do her job whatsoever and never apologized once for all of the hiccups. We sat down at 8pm and we were not finished or able to get up and play until 11pm! I will literally never go back to this location. The one star I'm giving is literally for the bartender at the end of the night who was competent and nice. DON'T COME TO THIS LOCATION!!! I have been trying to give this location the benefit of the doubt, but it's been several years. This location is just horrid. As usual I sat at the bar trying to flag the waitress for 15 minutes as she kept walking past us. The only reason I got my first drink is because another waitstaff recognized who I was so I asked her to make my drink-she instead got my waitresses attention (my friend was already there.) trying to flag down the manager Ron, the waitress, and the waitstaff that just sat there on her phone doing NOTHING we got a second drink. When we were done we tried again for a 3rd. I went to RON to explain our frustration and he replies "what you want me to do? (The one not working) is to service the tables only and is not to speak or engage with anyone at the bar and the bar isn't full so there isn't a lot of work needed to be done at the bar." I told him to get his boss in which he said they are gone for the weekend. I said that my bill needs to be left here until I speak with them as I'm not being serviced and I'm coming to him to see if he can step in. He went to get one of the 4 police officers they had available as he mentioned while laughing in my face instead of actually addressing this issue. I will never come back here and after that I will ensure that I speak to corporate and the GM as this happens to frequently. My bill should have been $200+ as I wanted food AND more drinks. It wasn't even half of that. I didn't even want to order food after as the wait for a drink showed me it would be even worse waiting on food. After we paid for the drinks the non working wait staff began to get irate and threatening towards me telling stuff like "I don't need to talk to you!"
