I went to Looneys for trivia after a long day and weekend. It was a lot of fun. The questions weren't too bad. Like definitely questions we could answer, the recall is the hardest part ESPECIALLY after having an orange crush. There was about 15 teams that participated and you have to get there early. We ordered a bunch of apps and entrees. I enjoyed my buffalo chicken dip and the fries are gas. It was so good. But I wasn't a fan of my jerk chicken tenders. I ordered an orange crush which was also really good. Service was cool. The girl check on our table constantly to make sure we were good. For parking to save our coins and time, we parked on UMDs campus and walked along the trail to the pub which only took 7-10 mins and UMD parking is free after 4pm. Honestly my coworkers and I would definitely come back again for happy hour or trivia. It's a vibe.

I love it here, especially for happy hour. They have amazing wings, 12 for $12!! They are absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection each and every time. Their orange crush is also really good, and gets the job done. The mozzarella moons are also a favorite, providing a nice and juicy cheese pull. The crab soup was fresh and warm, and was a good addition for appetizers on a cool fall day. The service is great as well with really nice servers.

My friend had a birthday party here on Saturday, January 11 in the afternoon. I had never been to Looney's, but was familiar with it as I used to drive for Uber/Lyft and had some drop-offs/pickups here. I thought of this place as simply some rowdy college bar literally a close walk from the UMD campus. I also knew there was another location in Maple Lawn in southern Howard County; that location is roughly half the distance from my home as the College Park one. I also see there's 2 other locations northeast of Baltimore in Nottingham & Bel Air area. My girlfriend & I had gotten here about an hour early as we were already out, hungry, wanted to eat earlier plus we could more focus on birthday party conversations rather than trying to order and focusing on eating. When we walked in, I was pleasantly surprised that this was nice place with wood panel, high ceiling, ample seating, a nice bar area, good decorations like UMD, Maryland flag, etc., and plenty of TV's for sports viewing. We sat at a high-top table. The server was nice. I said we were just splitting on appetizer and asked her recommendations, which she said several things, which server & I surmised crab in general. My g/f had been to Looney's a couple of times before, so she kind had some idea. We settled on the Chesapeake Fries, which were crab & cheese on top of fries, which came out pretty quickly. They were delicious, plenty of crab & cheese on the fries and an ample amount of food for the 2 of us to split. As for the birthday party, our server came around earlier on and switched to the evening shift server, which seemed to do a good job taking people's orders who got food &/or drink as well as water pitcher for tables. I occasionally glanced up at TV for the Texans-Chargers game, but I was mainly focused on conversating with people (a couple of which had been 9 months since I had seen). Also, this restaurant/bar wasn't too noisy, so it was easy to hear people. Restrooms were clean too. Overall, Looney's was solid, and I would return to this or Maple Lawn location.

This is a "I should've eaten MORE before I came" review for the most part so here we go ... my counterpart wanted to watch his favorite team play so we came here. I made dinner before I left but I know once drinks are involved I'm going to want to nibble too. The menu was very enticing and looking at the food that was coming to be delivered, I opted to do the Taster Wings ($1 more for 3 flavors). Here is my order and ratings for each: 1.Murphy McGee - 4 stars; FLAVORFUL! 2.Honey Old Bay - 1 star; Lacked old bay seasoning and the honey was at the bottom of the tray 3.Jerk - 1 star; didn't give me jerk flavor AT ALL! My rating for 3 stars is for the Murphy McGee wings alone! My counterpart and I looked at each other and said "we were better off not ordering anything at all" and I strongly agreed. I mean it's wings and the flavor component lacked ... that's crazy! Oh and the french fries ... horrible and I'm a french fry lover! Otherwise, the drinks and atmosphere was on point. I wish my server would have notified us at the beginning of service that if you pay by cash gratuity WILL NOT BE INCLUDED but if you pay with a card, gratuity is AUTOMATICALLY INCLUDED. Where is the signage? Not to mention Yelp offers 10% off for checking in on the app and my server and manager knew nothing about it. What a shame. I will give them another try even if it's for beer, booze, and sports!

Never a bad time here! Trivia on wednesday is a blast and I am addicted to the daily deals.

I was staying at THE HOTEL at UMD and stumbled across Looneys Pub when we were walking the campus for some food spots. Expected this to be a small bar but it is much bigger inside and lots of room at the bar area to sit and order food. I ordered the OC bucket and it is quite good and deadly my partner ordered Guinness which was actually pretty creamy compared to other bars. For food we got the hot buffalo wings and chicken tenders with fries. Overall very good bar in the area if you're looking for a quick bite and want to hang around locals and college kids since it's a sports bar. We came back twice in 1 weekend so it's a classic spot with good service! I would sit at the bar to get the most attention from bartenders!

Awesome spot near the UMD campus. Lots of food options (wings, apps, burgers, quesadillas, cheesesteaks, etc) and even more drink options (classic items and also some fun shots). Tons of TVs so a great place for sports-watching. Service is friendly and attentive (lots of student workers). Great bar.

Ive never been here on a weekend day. Its also great to support a business where the entire staff are deaf. I didnt figure this out until after a few visits and each time, the person pouring my draft was using sign language and reading my lips to help me. Beers have always been good. This time I had a JRA, which is a hoppy lager and very good. Mom had a fancy cola. It would be fun if they did a happy hour too. There's always a burger food truck parked here, but have never tried it. We sat outside, soaked up the sun like two lizards, had good conversation and enjoyed the beautiful day. Id definitely come back again when in the area.

I've been self-teaching myself sign language, and having the opportunity to come here and get some real one-on-one interaction and practice has been incredible. It's one thing to study on your own, but being able to engage in person in such a welcoming, supportive environment has been absolutely amazing. That kind of experience is rare -- and so appreciated. The atmosphere is relaxed, inclusive, and genuinely warm. The outdoor space is spacious and perfect for soaking up the sun, and we love that food trucks rotate through -- it makes every visit feel a little different. And Magnolia (our mini dachshund) is clearly a fan too. She was stretched out in the sunshine, completely relaxed, soaking it all in like she owned the place. Watching her sprawl out and enjoy herself just added to the whole experience. Great beer, great people, great vibes. We'll definitely keep coming back.

With a couple of vegetarians, some picky eaters and a wide variety of tastebuds, there weren't many options but we landed on R J Bentley's. And it was fine. We chose the restaurant because it was featured on the Big Ten Network once for Campus Eats at the University of Maryland. Honestly the food was unremarkable but good enough for lunch. The vegetarians had salads that were 'ok' there was a burger choice, some fried pickles, a crab dip and a giant crab covered pretzel. I had the nachos with chili as a main entree. It was pretty good, but the chili was a bit sweet for a nacho covering. The pretzel stole the show for me, and I fully admit to loving it. The atmosphere was exactly as expected - college bar casual. It was nice to see that, and our server was a current student. He was fantastic (Hi Cole) we enjoyed chatting with him and learning about the area, the university and his studies. He probably wanted us to leave him alone but it wasn't crowded so we just enjoyed chatting with him. He did a great job as a server and ambassador for the U. Three stars feels about right. If I was there at night for a full college bar experience I'm betting the place would make it up to four stars, but for lunch I think 3 is right on the mark.

We just had a few ciders, and they were a dollar off. For food, I got the haddock platter that came with Old Bay potato chips and veggies.
