Dave and Buster's recently completely revamped their food menu and offered a variety of new dishes and I had to give it a try. Although the service at D&B can be hit or miss, where we have at times waited upwards for 20 minutes to get a table and again to order even on a slow day, this particular time, our server, Ryan, provided exceptional service. The food and drink refills came out quickly and the new food items were surprisingly good! We tried the fried mozzerella sticks and a classic cheeseburger, and I have to say the quality of the food was surprising for a restaurant attached to an arcade. Pros: Good value for decent food if you happen to be in Great Mall and are looking for a place to sit and dine. Cons: Service can be hit or miss. Came here on Wednesday with some friends for happy hour. We arrived at 6:45pm and happy hour is over at 7pm. Cutting it close we ordered drinks and entrees. I ordered the ribeye steak. I loved the seasoning on the asparagus, the mashed potatoes were yummy, and the ribeye was cooked perfectly (medium rare). The food was good but the games were just okay or broken. We encountered 5 different arcade games that were in need of maintenance. I also thought that their prize area didn't haven't anything interesting or cool. It was mostly little trinkets or toys. I give one star because I have to, but today service was HORRIBLE! The hostess who was taking peoples names was extremely rude she did not want to allow me to put my name because one person from our party was parking the car. Then we were sat in a corner that felt like I was being put on time out for being in trouble, the waitress took over 30mins just to take our drink order, so as we waited for her myself and wife went to the bar and seen the same hostess being rude to other lady who ended up walking out. once we order food my son (21yrs old) was never given his food even though we asked 3 times once it was brought out his wings were cold. DnBs is an easy spot to pick for a lunch or dinner date. I often describe it as the adult version of Chuck E Cheese. There are arcade games that anyone can play to earn tickets for a redemption of knick knack items to take home. Food is mediocre at best. Service is a hit or miss, but mostly a miss. I would suggest choosing this venue if you have a huge group with a lot of kids so adults can somewhat entertain themselves given there are two huge full bars with flat screens plastered all over the place. 3.5 I ate here during Veteran's Day weekend. They had a cool deal for veterans going on- free entree and $10 game card. Service is always tough if you're eating in the arcade area. The bar is the same. If you want your food and drinks quicker and you want better service, dine in the restaurant and play your games after. My brother ordered the fish and chips. I was expecting some Gorton's fish sticks, but to they were actually legit. They were nice and crispy too. The stout burger was delicious. That was the best item on our table. Juicy and flavorful. I recommend it. The chicken avocado sandwich was standard. It wasn't anything special, but still enjoyable. I don't have any complaints about it. The food has drastically changed in taste and quality over the past few years. The food used to be like frozen items thrown into the industrial microwave and served. I gotta say I'm impressed. The most horrible service I have ever experienced in my life, and me being a server and bartender myself I tend to give a lot of grace because I know personally how hectic it can be. But this was clearly just lack of care, rudeness and inattentivness. I HATE that I have to write this review because like I said as a server myself I feel for others in the service industry but hopefully this gets to the right person because awful isn't a strong enough word to describe the service here. Love coming here for the arcades. We always have a great time on their arcades and it's one of the biggest arcades I have seen in the bay area. This is a fun place for all ages, arcade games for the kids and plenty of tv to watch games. They also have a big dining area away from the games but also provide many tables within the arcade area. D&B also provides plenty of sections and private rooms for parties. They also serve lots of alcoholic drinks. With that said, drinks are good but 3 stars as the food itself is mediocre. I used to go here numerous times when we lived in the area. The food quality has gone down. We ordered chicken wings & ribs: wings tasted like boiled ribs and just tossed with sauce upon order. Sauce was not that great. Under the sauce, ribs were flavorless and tasted boiled. Wings: ordered Korean wings, soooo salty. I think this would offend any Korean. I just tasted soy sauce and that's all, no other flavors Burgers: dry Fries: seasoned fries-Eh Flatbread pepperoni pizza: sauce is bland and cheese tasted cheap. Maybe the other dishes on the menu might still taste better but these were thumbs down. Honestly, cafeteria school lunch may taste slightly better and that's saying a lot especially since the we and kids are not a fan of school lunches. If you have little ones, better to take them here early in the day. There's possibly more drinking in the evening and will result to drunk folks. My kids were watching a drunk guy with plenty to say as his friends take him out for fresh air at 2pm. Overall it continues to be a fun place but I hope the management re-evaluates the flavors of the food as I would assume wings, pizza, fries, and burgers would be top customer orders. Fun spot! This location has lots of parking. They have security, and the prize room is well organized. The games are fun, and it's a nice indoor activity. Make sure to save your game card because you can reuse it. The bathrooms are clean, and it's connected to the mall which is nice if you visit during daylight hours. This place sucks now ! I used to come watch football games and UFC fights and every single time I came the wait time for food was long! There was even a time I came for a UFC fight and there was only 1 server for a whole section where the pool tables are at because he said everyone called out . Food is cold all the time, bartenders are always arguing with each other (I've heard/witnessed) the games are all broken, only about 60% work . No new games , if you're really tryna enjoy UFC and football games head to BIG ALS! We came for a Thursday night game which coincides with the all you can eat wings for 22.99. There seems to be some confusion around the menu since we were waiting for our group to come so we were at the bar waiting. We were going to get a bucket of drinks (4 max) but we couldn't order it unless we were at a table, which seems a bit weird, as we were just waiting for our table but that's fine. We were sat eventually and then ordered the wings, either boneless or bone-in, always gotta go bone-in and there were 3 options for flavors, honey bbq, buffalo or no sauce. Fries were $3 extra to add. The wings came out pretty promptly, nothing special in my opinion. The buffalo sauce was pretty mild and some wings were crispy and some were a bit flat and soggy. Only our first order of wings came with celery and carrots. And each additional order of wings were 6 wings instead of 8 which is good. The big projectors were a bit laggy which is not ideal for a football game though. Service was a bit slow, I would imagine you would have more servers for a football game. read more

My boyfriend and I have been here many times. We have both been to other locations but Milpitas takes the cake! The staff are super friendly and helpful, We always get food or a drink and the servers are always super sweet :) Just tonight I called for a simple question and Don was the one to answer the phone. It had been a long while since last visited Dave & Buster's, and with babysitting our nephew today and doing back-to-school shopping for our son, we decided it was a perfect time to drop by since we were at Great mall. My wife was especially craving the pigs in a blanket that she loves from D&B. Unfortunately, they were undergoing a menu remodel, resulting in a limited selection. However, from what we ordered, everything was pretty good. The wings were perfectly crispy and reminded me of the amazing wings we used to enjoy at BJ's before they changed their recipe. The burger was also quite good, though the fries were cold and not that crispy. The Caesar salad had a little too much dressing but was still tasty. Both kids enjoyed their meals, which is always a plus! For food, I'd rate it a 3.5-4ish and I can't wait to see the new menu once they're finished. As for the games, unfortunately, I'd give that a low score of 2/5. Many of the machines were out of order, and we had to repeatedly call the maintenance staff to get our credits back. I have never been so mad after eating a meal. Julio was our server and from the start he was so rude. He came AT ME and ask if we were ready to order and if we weren't then tell him. We literally just got to the table and and didn't even look at the menu yet. I really should have asked for another server or to be seated at somewhere else. But I didn't want to wait another 20 minutes since we were visiting from out of town. Every time he walked by he just gave us this ugly look. After looking at the menu for 15 minutes, he came back again and asked, "are you ready now? Or do you need more time?" We told him we were ready, as soon as it got to my daughter and 2 friends to order he interrupted my daughter because she didn't say her order fast enough. He told her, "if you're not ready and you don't know what you want I'll come back." She said she was ready and was trying to order but he interrupted her. He gave her this stare like a stare down. Seriously, how did he even get this job?? Customer service skill sucks so bad! After we ate some of our bad tasting food, my husband asked for a box for my sandwich and lids for the sauce. Julio proceeded to roll his eyes. He handed the box to my husband and my husband asked again for the lids. Julio huffed and childishly "stomped" away. He came back with the lids and handed my husband the check out device while standing there waiting for my husband to pay. Julio gave himself a 20% tip. My husband asked him, why is the gratuity added on here? Julio said it's automatic. My husband told him to take it off. Julio "took" off the gratuity but my husband still saw it on there. Julio the, "oh my finger must of touched it again." My husband was getting so irritated and has never ever given a person no tip. This was a first. My husband is always patient and hardly ever gets upset. He was super upset and asked for the manager. Manager didn't really seem to care.... So maybe this is how they treat their customers here... How does a company like D&B have NO iPads on any tables to order food. D&B Ops leadership needs to be fired, can't even imagine how much $$$$ they're losing bc customers that want to order food - can't order food. D&B need to benchmark the Yardhouse. At any YH u can order any food or beverage from an iPad, All u need are food runners to bring the food. Incompetent D&B food manager said, "look we're busy" he probably the one that muffed the schedule. Instead of clown lead or manager trying to rectify or do something to help, they did nothing. Didn't try to step up and try to resolve this issue by assigning another server that was less busy or by taking the order, themselves. He said "be patient." The Chicken Cantina Nachos is one of my faves, it's loaded with flavorful toppings that made every bite satisfying. The Double Pepperoni Flatbread was delicious, with a crispy crust and with their pepperoni. The BBQ Chicken Flatbread really stood out with its tender chicken and tangy BBQ sauce that balanced the flavors perfectly. Those are my two choices of faves for flatbread which is great for sharing! The Cheese Stick Stack is stacked with cheese, ehe. To cool off, got a Strawberry lemonade which is fruity and I like it! Service was a bit slow, likely due to the packed crowd and not enough man power at times, but the staff remained friendly and accommodating. Don't spend $ at this venue. After spending $150 for a seasonal pass, we realize we need to plan when we should come here or be hit w/ an entry fee. Kind of stupid and inconsistent to pay for something you aren't there for. Even more stupider the fact that the place was 1/2 empty- which costed them over $250 in sales as we took are dinner experience elsewhere. Leadership - maybe charge a fee for the tables where the TV's are located. But definitely revisit your guidelines and policy especially if your venue is 1/2 full. I shouldn't have to plan in advance when to use a non restricted pass that you sold me to then realize there is an additional entry fee and I'll need to check when those days are. That is not convenient and family friendly. *How did I know it was 1/2 empty? I had a other group that was inside before they charged the fee. My family and I come to Dave and busters at various locations once in a while. This is a decent location with plenty of games and a couple bar areas. We went to play pool and decided to order a tower. I tried to order a tower at the bar but was turned away to purchase from a server as towers aren't allowed to be sold at the bar. I flagged down a server but was told to go to the bar but I explained what the bartender told me. The server told me he will find me later(15 minutes later). Finally, they came to take our order after a long wait. We ordered a tower and Mac and cheese for my wife. The order took half an hour to arrive even after persistent questioning. We were not happy with the lack of service and the audacity to ask for a tip and closure or the tab right after the brought the tower and food. In addition, the mac and cheese was just sad. Do not get it unless you want Kraft's Mac and cheese, which you can make at home for a fraction of the cost. I hope this is a one off situation but we were not happy with the level of service or the quality. They may be understaffed but I don't know. In town visiting friends and family and wanted to watch some Sunday football and drink some beer since most of us are deep in the fantasy leagues. This location was middle ground to meet up at. Look people, it's not a gourmet restaurant, it's a chain like Chilis and Applebees. The food here is basic. There were 4 of us so we ordered the two samplers that consisted of chicken strips, fried pickles, fries, wings, sliders and pretzel wrapped mini dogs. It's beer fuel, did the job. After some beer and cocktails we spent about $200 for the 4 of us. That's not including the games, I'm not sure how much was spent on that only half our party played them. Overall a pretty expensive day for average stuff but at least a good time was had by us all. read more
