I experienced one of the worst examples of restaurant customer service at Dave & Buster's this past weekend. A group of friends and I were seated at 9p on Saturday evening. It was busy, but not jam packed, as the dinner rush was subsiding. Our server, Ray, was friendly enough at first. He promptly took our drink orders. After 30 minutes, we still hadn't received our drinks. He apologized and told us that the bar was "very backed up", although at a glance it didn't appear that was the case. While waiting, we ordered a bunch of apps. We asked for water, as none had been given to us. The apps came before the drinks. We had apps with no plates, napkins, water or cutlery. And still...no drinks from the bar. I had to get up and look for our server to tell him we couldn't eat our food because we didn't have plates, cutlery or napkins. He said he'd bring it right over. About 10 minutes later, he did. The drinks took 45 minutes to reach us. We asked for the manager. Rather than telling us he'd get the manager (and probably getting in trouble in the process), he kept trying to make excuses. Eventually all the food came out a little bit at a time. The manager came over and apologized, but offered nothing as a consolation. Didn't even comp us a round of drinks. Overall this is a poorly run, ill-managed restaurant staff. The food is the standard fare you'd expect from any chain restaurant. We won't be back. Ever. read more

My husband, son and I joined friends of ours just last night for dinner and games at Dave and Busters. This was my first time dining here. I had visited the one in Times Square many times and never had one issue. We all sat down and were informed we had to scan the QR code on each of our tables if we wanted separate checks. The menu would appear on our phones and then we'd need to order from our phones. My husband and I tried several times and it repeatedly told us there was an error. One couple and their kids had already ordered and received their food before we were even helped. When who I believe to be, a manager finally came over, we explained our issue. She told us that our table hadn't been connected with a server and that was why we were receiving an error message and that our friend could have ordered for us. We explained that our waitress told us we had to order separately if we wanted separate checks. The manager still persisted that it says it on the table and pretty much were just accusing us of knowing better. She didn't apologize for our wait or troubles. Our waitress FINALLY took our order herself. My husband's and son's food came (thought that took a while), yet mine took at least an hour. One of our friends and his wife waited even longer for their order. Most of us were not at all impressed with our food. Service was absolutely horrendous and they weren't even busy. No apologies were given, no discounts were offered. We will NEVER eat here again. One of my worst dining experiences. And that stupid ordering system makes zero sense and is a HUGE turn off to ever eating here again as well. Horrible! read more

Had high hopes and was really excited about the late night happy hour, 9-12.. however, this place has the absolute worst bar experience .. I could completely understand if the bar was packed, but it was basically empty, and had to wait 15-20 minutes in between drinks! A complete waste of time and money !!! read more

Horrible service, management in particular. I came here twice, and both times I had something go wrong with the management. It's quite appalling actually.. I feel that since this is the very first Dave & Buster's in Staten Island, it should have been better planned when it came time to actually have the grand opening. Nonetheless, it seems like very little preparation was put into any of that, and it truly shows BIG TIME. Other than that, the place itself is very well designed, similarly to most of D&Bs. It's a great place to come with friends, date, kids ..etc. So if you plan on visiting this particular location, don't set your expectations too high and you will surely enjoy your time. read more

Had a great time here last Friday night...food was excellent and my children really enjoyed themselves!!

We only come here on half off Wednesday's so we can't say much about the food and drinks here. We love to play a variety of games and it's great that they have so many different options. However, I think staff is slacking here. A lot of the machines are kind of filthy and there isn't anyone around to clean it. One game had ketchup all over it and for the 2 hours we were there, no one came buy to even clean it up. Same goes for the restrooms, it's always gross in there. At the winner's circle there's never anyone there to help and if there is, they're not attentive at all. I watched a few people come into the winner's circle to steal prizes because there's never any staff around to keep and eye. One time we waited to cash in our coins and cards and stood there for 10 minutes before the guy told us to go around to the other side of the table to cash in. He saw us standing there the whole time and he wasn't even busy. We tried to get his attention but it was like he was ignoring us. Then someone else came to help us and told us to cash in where we were originally standing. Whenever the machines malfunction it takes a while to find someone to help. The people that work here are absolutely miserable and it shows. read more

Me going to this Dave & Busters was so devastating. For one the customer service? Was HORRIBLE. I asked for a seat near the games so I can have a meal and also play games. The girl sat me infront of the bar, threw down the menu's and walked away. I didn't know where she went and was I even supposed to be sitting there. No communication at all. On the bright side the manager came over right away and I expressed what happened, he moved my seat and told someone else to wait on us. THANK YOU. The games are fun! The food? Disgusting. My steak was expensive for the size and it was overly cooked, my fries and broccoli were literally cold like it was sitting out for hours. BETTER FOOD, BETTER CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! read more

The kids love this place cause they can eat and play video games. Some of the games I have to admit are exciting enough to make me agree to a return trip. But I have to say though after visiting for a second time, the service is awful and the food is just as bad. I definitely recommend dinning somewhere else prior to visiting. Then after head to Dave & Busters to let your children run around burning some major energy playing some very cool games. We will not be eating here again. Not worth the third strike! read more

I'm only giving this location a 1 star based on the electronic plugged in games that were available to play (THANK GOD) .. first off, we were told there was a 5-10 minutes wait to get seated based off of our table needed to be cleaned ( okay no problem right) then it turned into longer than a half hour wait with barely people seated in the dining area (5-9 tables being used). Secondly, no one addressed us at the bar for a while until we asked the bill was given to us after ordering 1 round and to pay took me a good 10 minutes standing around waiting for someone to look up. Thirdly we were sat at our table and no one addressed us even when we said hello we got a quickly turn around. Fourth we ordered food and drinks separately and food took about 10 minutes but drinks on the other hand took more then 10x as much and we stared at them getting watered down at the bar without a second glance from any waiter or waitress, and when they brought them over 1 of the drinks were wrong ! And when I said that it was a hard look like I was wrong where I had to explain myself more then I would have had too.. and there was something dirty in the drink so we couldn't even drink it and couldn't get reimbursed.. mind you they make you prepay for the drinks and tip 18% automatically without talking to anyone or even getting an hello and things get given wrong ! Never coming back- had to write this while I was sitting during my "meal" because it was that ridiculous. And my review is kind with leaving other stuff out., hopefully it doesn't get worse. 1st experience ever at Dave and Busters and this is how it's been so far. DISAPPOINTED. read more

This place is perfect for families with kids, everytime we come here my two boys have a blast. We usually come on Thursdays unlimited games and wings for 20$ a person and wednesdays games half price, Can't beat that, food is OK for standard American menu. Staff are nice and helpful. Place is so great for when you want to play with grandkids and let the guys watch foot ball. The staff is always super friendly. I'm so excited that we now buy tickets so I can't make sure the grand kids get all the prizes that want make me feel amazing to make them happy. The games are awesome. They have plenty of classics and new games which are always a ton of fun. Can be mobbed with kids if u go early but the later u go the more fun u will have. Food is decent bar food, could use a few more bartenders because of the size of the bar usually only 2 bartenders. Recently came here for a PPV fight which was an awesome time. I went with my family and some friends so the kids can play some games. Once we were finished with the gaming we decided to sit and eat. I ordered wings as an appetizer and they came out cold. I told the waitress and she took them back into the kitchen. She said they were making a new batch. I figured great but when they came out a second time they were Luke warm. Didn't bothering saying anything again. Then we waited 35 minutes for our meals. Guess what happened, they weren't even hot. It's was outrageous. I spoke with a manager and he apologized along with giving us 20% off our bill. I would have preferred my whole dinner was right the first time. Who ever is running the kitchen should of been ashamed of even sending out food like that. They are lucky they have the gaming because the restaurant would be out of business the way it's being run. read more

If I could give this 0 stars I would. Writing a long review but worth reading... This 1 star review is mostly for the food & bar service we received there. I went with a group on Friday night at about 9PM. I expected it to be crowded and there would be waiting involved, surprisingly it wasn't packed but that didn't help anything. When we arrived there, there was actually space at the bar so we managed to grab two seats and wait for a bartender. The bartenders seem to be unqualified for the job. It took about 30 minutes for someone to even notice us, when we were right smack in the middle and clearly had no drinks in front of us. We basically had to flag the bartender down because no one was coming over. We ordered our drinks and shots. The shots were brought back and made completely wrong. Then the bartender brought 1 drink disappeared for another 20 minutes before finally bringing the others. Basically we were at the bar for an HOUR before sitting to eat. That whole situation should of took 10 minutes max, esp. since it wasn't extremely crowded. Our group gets seated at a table in the dining area and it just went downhill fast from here. Let me just note something important-- there was only three other parties in the entire dining area and plenty of waiters around. Our waiter comes over brings menus and says I'll be back. Then comes right back a few minutes later to take the drink orders and then says I'll be back for the food order. The drink order takes at least 20 minutes to be filled. The waiter finally brings back the drinks and then says I'll be back in a few minutes to take your food order and disappears for another 10 minutes. Now if you think he was doing something work related... wrong. He was BSing with other waiters as we were all just sitting there. The waiter finally comes back and takes the food order and at this point we're all in shock that we've been in this place for 90 minutes and have not eaten yet. LITERALLY 25 MORE MINUTES pass and the waiter walks over and says there is a delay in the kitchen so we have to wait longer for our food and just walks away. At this point we have been in here 2 HOURS with no food. The food finally comes out for our group and half the orders are wrong. Are drinks are never refilled and there is no silverware or napkins provided. Again staff just walks away, so we're eating with our hands. Our entire party is sitting there in disbelief at the service we're receiving. I asked for napkins and silverware and was told "sure" never to receive any. I finally had to get up and go get it off another table myself. At this point someone else is my party had to go get the manager involved and they came and spoke to us and tried to resolve the situation. After the manager was involved they corrected the food, brought new drinks, and silverware. The food was surprisingly decent but at this point no one was even hungry anymore. The manager was the only one who seemed to care about the service and from that point on our waiter seemed to stay on top of things. Either way it should have NEVER gotten to that point. It was not busy. The problem seems to be that there is a bunch of young "children" working there who want to just fool around and not work. All of the waiters and bartenders just talk to each other and ignore all the customers. They need to hire better staff and it's guaranteed most of these problems will go away. The arcade itself is pretty decent, there's a good amount of games. Everything seemed to be working, except for the Jurassic 4D "ride." What irritated me was we paid for it (it's an extra $5 dollars and you pay before you go on) and then after we all paid they told us the controllers were broken but we could still go on the ride. What is the point of that??? Seriously??? We went on anyway because at the point what are we supposed to do. But we couldn't scan any dinosaurs so we were basically just watching a 4D scene of Jurassic park. They didn't even offer refunds. Also the gift shop had pretty crappy prizes. I feel like they should have a better selection. In summary it's a fun time to play games but don't bother getting food or drinks, unless you want to wait 2+ hours and be aggravated. read more

Service was poor. Many people are employed here, few are working. There are many empty tables and yet we had to wait half an hour for a table. Per our waiter the reason - kitchen is "yelling" at the front of the house. The kitchen is too busy with half a house? Asked for the special menu for people with allergies. Again took forever. Only the manager could deliver it. He was incredibly disinterested. It felt like we were inconveniencing him. (Side note - the manager we dealt with had a passing resemblance to Thanos; I would root for Thanos before I would for this manager) Our beverages took a long time to come. And they didn't bring them all at once. Had to remind them of one drink. When the waiter came with it he apologized and said the bar was busy. It was an hour between the time we were told we had a table and when the food arrived. Food was good enough. Tasty. Though only warm - not hot. Most restaurants would like to be busy. For an adult, who likes to keep busy, I love D&B! The staff is friendly, the food is pretty good, and they have a great happy hour/ food deals. Thursday I went with my boyfriend and cousin during happy hour, and I got endless wings and games for $20 AND happy hour drink prices! We stayed for 3 1/2 hours talking with our bartender Caitlyn! This place has a fun, warm, and welcoming atmosphere. Before playing games, I went with a party of 10 to eat. The service was a bit slow and my food was cold. I'm writing this as I sit at my table. I could probably make a better Mac and cheese. Our food came out cold. The entree's took one hour. Every order did not come out with anything we asked (no lettuce, no tomato). This may be the worst experience I've ever had out to eat. The wait staff is absolutely clueless, has no direction. Going late night for food is ill advised- per the chicken and avocado lettuce wraps, the chicken was freezing, & avocado was not ripe and hard as a rock. Our pizza pretzel bites were cold. We had to wait an additional 15 minutes for our nachos because they were at first given to another table and the table had already started "nibbling on it" according to our waitress. We weren't even given plates or utensils, we had to take it from the table next to us. Even though we were sat for almost 2 hours, the waitress didn't ask ONCE if she could refill any of our drinks. Hardly even came over to us for that matter until it was time to get her tip money, which she awkwardly stood by until a tip was written down. I understand the place is new but waitstaff should at least know the basics. I guarantee this place only makes money because everything is extremely overpriced for what's given. Probably being generous giving two stars but this place sucked...we waited over an hour to be seated when there were at least 20 empty tables..waiter spilled a drink didn't even clean it up & we then waited at least ANOTHER 45 minutes for our food to come out...everything all at once, including our appetizer which by definition is a small food/drink taken BEFORE the main course. skip to the eating part - food was absolutely terrible, dry and looked nothing like the polished photoshopped images in the menu. also stinky probably spoiled cheese on the tater tots :) the arcade games however were pretty fun. solid 2/5 read more

Very fun arcade, didn't try the food but I heard it was good. My biggest issue: TOO MANY CHILDREN! We were there on a Saturday at 11pm, and they're hovering over machines and knocking over drinks. I thought Dave & Buster's didn't allow children past a certain time, that should be enforced. It makes me want to not come back. I'd rather go to the Manhattan or NJ location if they enforced that rule. read more

The games are great so I will give them that much even though for three children to have a decent time you are looking at $250.00 plus which is not a problem. The customer service though is absolutely horrible. Horrible may be an understatement. At first I thought it may be your typical NY d-bags who are rude and crude but these folks take it to another level. After almost an hour and a half of waiting for a seat, we were seated right by the bar with 3 kids. After 30 mins extra minutes my husband asked one of the waitress if we could get some service or water at least and she said she'll find our waitress. The waitress came over completely disinterested in anything. It was like pulling teeth to get service, napkins, utensils, everything, food etc! The kids were disappointed, irritated, and hungry at what should've been a great cousins weekend between Maryland and NYC. Worst of all in the 3 hours we sat in the restaurant portion for some chicken Tenders and fries, they could've playing. It's was so terrible, our waitress was no where to be found ever and we eventually had to beg a bartender to ask someone to give us a check and insist on them taking the payment not out so called waitress. Being from Maryland I am not used to this level of disservice from Dave and busters. I really hope whoever owns this franchise will evaluate his staffing, your staff are ruining your investment big time. Your central location and brand may serve you well for only so long. As a person who analyzes business trends and buying behaviors for a living I can tell you that this level of bad customer service will eventually drown out your target market and profits. read more

Great looking place good addition to Staten Island but they need to work on service and they need to come up with a better menu and prices they don't offer combo meals which is a bummer and those game cards they claim are included with your pricey meal aren't really included you end up being charged for it so to me that's not a deal at all and also they need to have concessions on the tables because you shouldn't have to ask for things like ketchup or salt and pepper or paper napkins simple things like that but again it needs some improvements and this is a issue at every location I've been too if it wasn't because of my nephews and nieces they wouldn't see me in here lol read more

Went today with the kids. We decided to try the place to eat before, letting the kids play some games . We sat down kinda fast , the waiter was very slow and inexperienced. We ordered 4 meals and some regular drinks , it took him 15 minuets to get 4 drinks , we ordered our food, took another 15/20 minuets to get our food , as we finally got the food , the kid never came over to see if we needed and refills, or condiments. Very poor on the management for not overlooking their staff. No more eating, we will just have the kids play the games . Ps very expensive for a food establishment. read more

The atmosphere and arcade is so fun with lots of new games. The bar area wasn't very crowded but took almost 20 minutes to get two beers. Also took us an hour and a half to get seated when we were told 45 minutes. Service is very slow but there's good bar food. Overall, I think it's a fun night out for drinks and games but I don't really recommend eating here. read more
