I've been to both the Brooklyn and Staten Island location and I love both. I might just favor the Staten Island location more as the spacious interior and not needed to wait an hour or more for a table. Food is excellent as always I love most of their options. usually I'd get the chicken fajitas but this time I opted for the fried shrimp taco and the Cali fish tacos which were both decent. I just wished that the fish was crispier and a bit bigger piece wise. Drinks are excellent , not too strong but not weak either. The guacamole is always a must get and they refill your chip basket often once you run out. I will say their soft drinks are on tap so they might taste a bit off. But besides that I highly recommend this place for anyone who wants to have good time with drinks and music.

This is the place to go if you're looking for delicious tacos and burritos !! They have so many great options to choose from !! Not to mention their fish taco is one of the best I've had in a longgggg time !! Super fresh and full of flavor and goes great with a yummy margarita which they have manyyyyyy to choose from ! Definitely recommend this place The decor is super cute with surfboards everywhere gives a nice laid back feel

I am a BIG FAN of their Birria tacos. I was first introduced to them at their Bay Ridge location and had to check out the Staten Island one. I am personally biased to the Bay Ridge location because it's more lively, just how I like it, and it makes me enjoy their food much more. I think the tacos are a little overpriced, especially because they don't come with anything else with them, it's worth the occasional visit!

Came here on a Saturday night around 7pm and was seated right away! It was pretty busy but they have a lot a tables and room available. It was an amazing atmosphere. Everyone dining in was super friendly as well as the staff at Ho' Brah! Definitely a great first date spot. I sat at the bar and was automatically greeted with a smile by Daniela! Such a sweetheart, she made sure we had a menu on hand and took our order quickly. Jenny brought us chips and guac for starters. She was very attentive and helpful. It's extremely helpful when your waitress knows the menu by heart!! Thank you for making our experience here outstanding! The guac was super fresh! I was so amazed, I never had such a big portion of guac and it was tasty on top of that! The margaritas are amazing and powerful! They offer specialty tacos, Daniela recommended the Korean bbq tacos and I was in love with them. Super fresh and delicious. If you stop by definitely ask for Daniela or Jenny! because we were so impressed at how well, we were attended too. Thank you so much girls! 10/10 recommend and will be back next week :)

We always order takeout from Ho'Brah, but never eat in. Well we decided to eat in this time and we weren't disappointed. We were greeted upon entrance and despite it being Saturday and very busy, were able to be seated at a table. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable about the food and drink menus. We ordered a Corona, ginger ale and a jalapeño and cucumber margarita. Our drinks arrived in minutes and we placed orders for food. We started with chips and guac, chicken empanadas and baja street corn. Everything was sharable and tasty. We ordered various tacos for our main course and each was better than the rest. One of our party is pescatarian, so she was happy to see many vegetarian and seafood options on the menu. Our favorites were the Korean BBQ Taco, the Southern BBQ pulled pork Taco and the Cabo fish taco. The food was delicious and filling. A good experience whether eating in or ordering out. Ho'Brah with definitely be on our regular rotation.

I should have known Ho Brah was going to be average. I went to the one in Brooklyn and it didn't wow me. Its like Surf Taco from the Jersey Shore but with a liquor license. The guacamole was average but the first thing the waiter asked us was if we want guacamole and salsa. Caught us off guard so we ordered it. The chips were good with just the right amount of salt. I ordered some tacos as well and I would skip the veggie taco. The crispy fish taco was solid but needed a kick of hot sauce. I found the steak in the korean bbq taco dry. I do like that you can order individual tacos so you can try different ones. Some places just make you pick one style. Next time I want to try the baja corn and the homemade empanada, 3 stars is exactly where its at maybe 3.5.

Had Ho'brah cater my outdoor baby shower for about 40 adults. They arrived on time and set up their tent and station so quickly. Their staff was so friendly and truly genuinely cared to make the party a hit. Obviously the tacos & gauc were amazing and enough food to feed another 15 ppl. Everyone raved about their food and the party. Tommy was so easy to talk to and easily reached, since we had a temporary power outage that morning. He also stopped by to make sure everything was going as planned, which everything was absolutely perfect. If you want to have an awesome event have them there!

Amazing tacos and burritos. Can't go wrong with any of the tacos on the menu . Burrito was massive. Nachos were on point as well. Highly recommend any of their locations in SI/Brooklyn

An Unforgettable Quesabirria Experience at Maya's Cafe Mexican Cuisine!…read more Finding truly exceptional Mexican food can sometimes feel like a quest, but my visit to Maya's Cafe Mexican Cuisine delivered in a big way, specifically with their phenomenal Quesabirria. From the moment it arrived, I had a feeling it would be special, and I was not disappointed. The quesabirria itself was a masterpiece of flavor and texture. It was immediately clear that freshness was a priority here. The tortilla was perfectly crisped, providing a satisfying base for the generous filling inside. But the real star was the birria steak - it was incredibly tender, bursting with juice, and packed with a deep, savory taste that spoke of careful preparation and quality ingredients. Each bite was simply delicious. What truly elevated the dish, however, were the thoughtful details. The fresh cilantro wasn't just sprinkled on; it added a vibrant, aromatic quality and a necessary burst of freshness that cut through the richness of the meat and cheese beautifully, enhancing the overall taste profile significantly. And then there was the consumé. Oh, that consumé! Calling it 'out of this world' is almost an understatement. It was served steaming hot, a rich, dark broth brimming with complex flavors. It was savory, comforting, and utterly addictive. Seriously, it was so incredibly delicious and satisfying on its own that I could have happily just sipped it straight from the cup. Dipping the flavorful quesabirria into that liquid gold created a perfect harmony - a truly memorable culinary moment. It's been a little while since I had the chance to visit Maya's Cafe, but the memory of that meal has genuinely stayed with me. I find myself actively craving that specific combination of flavors and textures again. While I haven't managed to get back just yet, I am truly looking forward to my next visit, and you can bet I'll be ordering the quesabirria again. If you appreciate authentic Mexican cuisine made with care, or if you're on the hunt for truly outstanding quesabirria, I wholeheartedly recommend making a trip to Maya's Cafe Mexican Cuisine. It was a fantastic experience, driven by that incredibly tasty and well-executed dish. You won't regret it!

The fries and chorizo nachos were the best for us! Food: 1$ off taco tuesday! Came with 7 people. Ordered an al pastor, beef taco, and empanada, chorizo nachos, steak nachos and fries. The table had a small portion of chips when we sat down that was probably a small cup size for the 7 people we had. - the tacos were on 6" corn tortillas and doubled which was nice but it just didnt have that salso or kick. I found myself adding salt and lotta hot sauce. The empanada was not hot but im not sure if its cause they were waiting to bring everything out for our table. I really liked the fries and the chorizo nachos more than anything! Service: the two girls were really so kind and helpful. Attentive and helped the party out a lot! I stopped by at around 11am and the place was empty but there are plenty of seats available in the taqueria with lots of Mexican drinks options. The ambiance was quiet. I asked for two cacti tacos, also known as the Taco Azteca at this taqueria as recommended by the other Yelpers. I started with two because I heard that their tacos run big. Ordered there a bunch actually. The orders I've placed were through Grubhub though. There in lies the problem. It was always a problem with the order. The final straw came when I ordered an item and (like other times before) called to tell me that what I ordered is actually what I ordered and what I did order was $3 extra. So rather than just admit the mistake and just eat the $3, the woman on the phone kept wanting me to just take what I didn't want. So now I tell her I'm fed up and I just want a refund. She says she can't because it's through Grubhub. I ask to speak to the owner, GUESS WHAT, I was speaking to the owner! I told her that wasn't true. She then starts in with the "why can't I be the owner", implying I'm sexist. The reason I know it isn't true because from prior experience, the owner was a man. So I'm done with this place. The food was just okay, the nickel and dime routine on customers isn't worth the bland Mexican food. If you're looking to have okay Mexican food with horrible service and attitude, then I guess this place is for you. As for me, I rather starve than eat from here again.
