So I was there today with my family. It was clean and well kept. I felt like a lot of the timed games were challenging for me let alone a child. For example, the ring toss and bean bag games don't even give you enough time to use all the rings and beanbags before your time is up. The grab and win machine is a joke. I tried over 10 times to get a tweety and the hook grabbed it several times and just drops it. It shouldn't be that hard if you're trying that many times. It kind of takes the fun out of it when everything is rigged primarily for maximum revenue and not consumer enjoyment and value for our money. Of course you need to profit but I think the way it's all set up is not conducive to anyone being able to come regularly. The food area, very unorganized. We had 3 different people helping us and the waitress that was pointed out to be handling our section, never came to our table once. So everyone that came to help us was just covering for her or trying to be nice. An employee knocked over the buckets after filling ice at the bar, picked up the buckets and didn't clean up the water and an older lady slipped and fell. I have been to other Dave & Busters before. This is the first time at this Thousand Oaks location. We went to watch a UFC fight which was nice but the place is loud so you cannot hear the commentators. They played it on a lot of TVs so that was nice too. I ordered the chicken Alfredo with zoodles (zucchini noodles) and it was actually very tasty. My daughter had the waffle and fried chicken sandwich which was also very good, oh and cannot forget the tots. Yum! My son ordered the rib/slider combo. They both REALLY liked the ribs. Son said sliders were good, but just sliders. I feel like the Food was definitely improved since the last time I ate at D&B's. Dave and Busters is a place that is Loud, has a lot of people mixed with kids and adults. This is totally to be expected from this type of place. My big problem is that the kids were allowed after 7. I had the pleasure of visiting Dave and Busters this busy Saturday night with a large group celebrating a birthday. Upon walking in the girl in the front was rude and short with me. It was my first time to this location and she was not what should be a customers first experience upon arrival. I wish I got her name. But the experience was saved when we were all blown away by the exceptional service provided by our waitress, Denaya. She effortlessly handled our group of 15+ with multiple checks and people arriving at different times, making sure everyone felt included and valued. Denaya was friendly, accommodating, and genuine, which made us feel welcomed and relaxed. The atmosphere was lively but not chaotic, and our drinks and appetizers were delicious. Our party ordered a variety of cocktails and beer, everyone loved their drinks! We enjoyed playing the games. They were available, working with ease, and fun! The prices are outrageous for a loud chaotic outdated arcade. They post the prices but then add $3 to activate your card. You obviously can't use a card without it being active. BEWARE: My daughter went into Dave and Buster's Thousand Oaks with a friend Tuesday before returning to college in another city. She ordered a $15.80 meal and provided her debit card. MELISSA, brought back the debit draft with a Bank of America authorization for $615.80. My daughter asked about the charge, Melissa stated; "Oh, it was just a mistake, I accidentally hit the 6 when entering the amount but DON'T WORRY, the $600 charge doesn't go to the bank until the tip is given so it won't affect your bank account." My daughter tipped her a dollar anyway, though not as much as usual. Upon arrival home, we looked at her bank account which was frozen, with a zero balance and a $616.80 pending charge. We both spent an hour on the phone with B of A but they said it could take seven to ten business days to clear. I called Brad, the General Manager of Dave and Buster's, explaining that my daughter had to leave for college the next day and now has no money for food, gas, school books, etc.... Brad was polite and sympathetic but simply replied that Melissa was an outstanding employee and it was just human error. I do understand human error but Melissa lied to my daughter regarding the amount having not been sent to the bank. I'm also curious Dave and Buster's Business manager who comments on Yelp but has remained silent to date on my post....if I brought a large party of guests to Dave and Buster's and ran up a $615.80 bill then simply stated, "Sorry, I brought the wrong credit card...I'll bring you the proper card in five to ten business days", would your establishment then say oh, "okay" or would they call Thousand Oaks Police? It's nice to finally have a D&B here versus the drive all the way to Hollywood and Arcadia. There is a lot of space to walk around and to play games and so forth. The unfortunate thing they don't offer is billiards or shuffleboard tables but that's not a big issue. The past few experiences when dining is the wait time to get our waiter from drinks and getting the check. It took 20 minutes one time to get the check when there was only 5 tables full in the dining area. Other than that, they do have a great selection of beer and up to date prizes in the Winner Circle. I love the concept of Dave and Busters, it's a chuck e cheese for adults. I will come because I love competition and my and hubby have date nights to se who can get the most tickets. Fun for that reason. I just wish the drinks were strong enough to give me a buzz. I'm not a drinker so one drink I feel it and I had two drinks and a shot of fireball and felt nada. My fiancé, child, and I just visited the restaurant and it was SO gross! Firstly, the seat yourself rule is kind of bizarre for a D&B as this is the first location I've visited where that's the rule. We sat ourselves after finding a clean table, there weren't many. There were a bunch of empty tables with old food, plates, and dirty table tops and it wasn't too busy. I was pretty grossed out. We sat and no one helped acknowledged us. Again not too busy. We hung out for a bit and yet no service. We decided to leave and go to Chuck E. Cheese instead as clearly it was the better choice. As an adult, it's always fun to reminisce about the good times when we used to play arcade games as a child. You know.. going to the arcade, grabbing a soda, hanging with the friends. Pros - The main reason you want to come here.. the arcade.. wow it's huge, lots of games, and the rewards you can redeem are actually legit - I know some people may disagree, but I actually enjoy the food here. Love basically everything on the menu and you can even redeem food in the ticket checkout area. - The Drinks and bar are actually quite great especially with the large selection. - The ticket/point system is actually quite great and I love the fact you can check your pts or tickets wherever the machines are. Cons - The games are pretty expensive to play. Some games are 2.3 pts to play while most other can go quite high..$20 will probably last you 20 minutes. - The service can be pretty bad here. The bar does a good job but the food took forever to get.. though it was really good. Other than that I love coming here for a good drink and some arcade time accompanied by a appetizer or dessert. read more

I come here every Wednesday with my girl friends because of half off games and every wednesday we're always on the look out for Marlon, the game tech. He is the nicest guy at D&B, he works so quickly and is the only person really bustin his ass to keep the game area clean. One time we came and he wasn't here on a wednesday and we definitely felt it. Coin pusher games were out of tokens, cups are all over the tables, this guy is always working and doesn't miss a beat. He's friendly and helpful to everyone and interacts great with the kids ( i could neverrr ). I know if a machine is down, he's the person to go to. He makes our trip to dave and busters 100x better because we're always looking forward to seeing him. If you see him hustling, please remind him to drink some water!! 20/10 rating for Marlon, shout out to him for cleaning machines, game area, and assisting people as quick as possible. I have this terrible habit of watching employees work ethic since I am in management, and i'm just saying - the others better start hustling. I do not understand all of these bad reviews because I have had nothing but great experiences here and have been coming here with my kids, almost weekly, since they opened. Obviously, games break and that causes a big of a pause in the fun but the game techs, ESPECIALLY MARLON, ensure that the fun can continue as fast as possible! They have a large selection of games which is why it is such an easy night out with kids... something for everyone. We have eaten here quite a bit and have found the food to be consistent... it is not the best but it is perfect for the environment. So there were three of us, we ordered pretty simple drinks; gin and tonic, tequila and ginger ale, and a jack and coke. The gin and tonic just tasted like soda water my friends tequila and ginger ale was straight tequila. So we ask the server to get her a little cup of sprite or 7up to chase the tequila on the rocks. She ACTUALLY came back with soda water and a lime and a lemon. Like here ya go make you're own damn 7up lol. We laughed our asses off at that incompetence factor and asked for the bill split two ways. Waitress comes back with just my tab which was for Hendricks and soda water. I didn't ask for top shelf and I also didn't ask for soda water and she didn't even bring my friends tab. 10 mins goes by so I just left 7$ on the table and called it a night and we left. Today was my first time bringing my son and his friends. It was GREAT! Upon entering, we were greeted promptly with smiles. The boys had a blast playing games! The menu has a vast selection of items. I was so impressed! Our server Johnny was exceptional. It got a little busy but he was quick to get our re fills and kept checking in with us. And then the manager, Miss Angie stopped by our table to ask how we were doing. She told me to sign up at the in store kiosk so I could receive deals via email. The games were great, the food was wonderful but the service was STELLAR!!! We will definitely make this a regular spot to bring the kids but also for my next girls night out. At the new T.O location, grandson was super hungry after an hour of Dojoboom, so tried the food - inedible. Chicken strips very dry, couldn't figure out what they used for batter. Must be frozen? Definitely not fresh. They brought him 2 more plates, exactly the same. He has never refused to eat chicken strips from anywhere, ever, even fast food. So, 3 strikes & you're out, especially on same visit! Draft IPA and soda were good, can't really go wrong there. Waitress Sarah was exceptionally nice. Won't eat there again, but promised to try the gaming for my 7 year-old's-birthday, so will give that a shot. Additionally, the waitress and bartender(separately) both said they were still hiring and it's fun to work there, so I contacted my niece who has experience in both. She went there within the hour and the manager said no there weren't. Not sure of management's competence. I saw many reviews before mine mentioning how understaffed they are, so if the customers see it and the staff sees it, how can they not see it?
