Who knew this delicious bbq joint was here. I've been zooming past it for the past decade until a business partner invited me to have lunch here. What a great lunch experience I had. The okra was perfectly fried, great brisket, and very tasty Mac n cheese. The service is pretty quick and a great price for grabbing a quick lunch. I also loved the SEC football decor throughout the restaurant. I see they also love the ROLL TIDE as much as I do. Yummy experience

So I finally was able to stop and try this place and it was a good thing. Growing up in Marietta and one of my favorite places has closed I needed a new joint. For the price it is definitely worth a try. The Beef Brisket was my choice with Baked Beans and Brunswick STEW. Deliciously made and you definitely need to try it for yourself especially for the money it's a win win.

I moved to the Atlanta area 3 years ago and I have yet to find a decent BBQ place anywhere near here Take Dave Poe's for example Upon pulling into the parking lot and couldn't figure out what was missing I should've known immediately. The great smell of a BBQ pit smoke in the air, tempting anyone nearby was missing The inside was very clean but smelled more like cleaning supplies than BBQ , but hey, the place was clean I was greeted by a young man who seemed more interested in shooting the breeze with his coworkers in back, rather than answering a question Almost $30 later (including tip) for a sandwich, 2 sides and a drink my order number was called What was on my plate was a heap of unseasoned brisket and what tasted like Publix side items As previously mentioned, the brisket was obviously unseasoned, there was no bark on the outside, and no smoke ring It was just a pile of chewy wet meat Good BBQ doesn't rely on sauce to make it good Good BBQ stands on its own, and the sauce compliments it This place was the equivalent of a JR. High cafeteria with a unmotivated staff, high prices, and decent Texas toast I'm convinced that nobody in Georgia has decent BBQ, as this place makes my recommendation record would be 0-32 after this disappointment Georgia can't do smoked meat right, and thanks to Dave Poe's blah offering, I'm going to stop looking 2 stars for toast and iced tea

Ordered a meat plate from here and it was great! Meat was tender, Cole slaw was refreshing and crunchy, and you can tell the Mac and cheese is homemade!

Stopped by for lunch. Had a photo of my plate that i somehow lost in the save process. Nice spot with kind service. You can see they support the Dawgs and the Tide. I had the brisket plate with sides of mac n cheese and coleslaw. The mac n cheese was the star. Large penne style noodles in a real good smooth and flavorful cheese sauce. The coleslaw was pretty solid with a good balance of sweet and acid. The brisket was ok. The brisket was sliced but had a little too much fat throughout and it was lukewarm. It is a popular spot and we arrived just prior to the lunch rush.

Came here with a couple of coworkers, who swore this place has the best BBQ in town. Ordering process: you pick your items from the menu board, order them at the counter, grab a table and wait for your number to be called out. Lady behind the counter was very nice and helpful. I ordered a Baby back ribs plate with a side of green beans and collards. It also comes with a toast and pickles but I opted for corn bread instead. The food was ok but not my favorite. The ribs weren't as juicy as I would have liked, the corn bread was very soft and mushy with a weird aftertaste, probably from jalapenos. I prefer a corn muffin style with a crispy top and soft warm center. Collards were slightly bitter. The décor here is quirky - little pigs everywhere, trophies won, car license plates from around the country, and random posters from years past. They also have a few tables outside but with a view of parking lot.

Our son and DIL recently went and had a good experience and asked if they could take us -- and who is going to turn down BBQ?! We went in around 5:45pm on a Saturday and got seated quickly, but the place filled up pretty quick after us. Ayla (?) was our server, and extremely sweet and knows that menu! We did have two flies buzzing around us in our corner which were quick and we only eventually killed one of the two -- part of the reason for the 3 and not a 4. Two of us ordered the ribeye, one got the chopped brisket, and one got a salad with chicken. The ribeyes were tasty, they just lacked the marbling found in a good steak at that price. (Another reason for the 3) And the chopped brisket was more shredded and wasn't as moist as you'd expect -- even after asking for some fattier pieces. (Final reason for the 3) sides were good -- TONS of onion rings/straws, delicious mashed potatoes and green beans. Overall: server was great, minor improvements needed on the food, and something needs to be done to deal with the flies INSIDE the restaurant.

Upon entering the establishment, the restaurant was not overcrowded, and weather conditions outside were extremely hot, approximately 89 to 90 degrees Fahrenheit. After waiting for the customer ahead of me to be served, I placed a take-out order consisting of one brisket sandwich and one order of hush puppies. Following completion of my order, I observed available seating located directly adjacent to the designated take-out area near the restaurant bar. Before occupying the seating, I asked the front counter Attendant, who processed my order, whether the seating area was available for me to use while waiting for my order. He expressly informed me that the seating was available and I could wait there. I then approached the seating area where one elderly male patron was seated. I politely greeted him and asked whether surrounding seats were occupied by anyone else. He informed me that the seats were available. Shortly after sitting down, I was approached by a female employee, "Caucasian", approximately middle-aged, who asked whether I intended to order alcoholic beverages. I respectfully declined and informed her that I had recently placed a take-out order with the front counter associate and step aside to wait for my food. I further stated that I would not be consuming alcohol because I needed to drive home safely, but I would accept a glass of water. Immediately after hearing my response, the employee informed me "if you're not ordering an alcoholic beverage, you can't sit at the bar" I reiterated that I was already a paying customer waiting on an active order. Despite this explanation, I was again informed that unless I purchased an alcoholic beverage, I could not sit there. I then stood up, collected my belongings, and relocated myself to wait for my items. This interaction caused me to feel very uncomfortable, unwelcome, and singled out as a paying customer. I was left with highs concerns that I may have been treated very indifferent from those of my peers and other patrons present in the establishment. I am documenting this event because I believe the circumstances warrant review regarding whether unequal treatment or slight discriminatory conduct occurred.

We entered and at first I was concerned because there were only two people in the restaurant. We ordered and received our food quickly and from the first bite of brisket I was hooked!!! We had the collards, mac & cheese, baked beans and Brunswick Stew. I was not happy with the Brunswick Stew but I'm hard to please on that item. I haven't had good batch in years. The people that know how to prepare it properly don't work in restaurants. Was charged $1 for two extra slices of bread. Uhhhhh really...it's bbq! Another drawback for me was the young lady working the register was pulling at the skin on her lips and I remember thinking oh lord she has her hands on her mouth, the register, the phone and everything else. I realize some people have nervous tendencies and try not to be too obnoxious when dining out but I sure miss the days of face masks and gloves. While we ate more and more people came in and when we left there was six people dining in, multiple pick up order, so it's a steady flow of people. The condiments station was neat and tidy. The restaurant itself is decorated with cute signage and quotes which lead to a relaxing environment. I grabbed a catering menu as I was leaving because everything was so delicious I have to convince my employer to treat us to bbq this summer. You can't go wrong with the strawberry lemonade.

Normally, I'm driving 20-30 minutes or more trying to find decent ribs and brisket, and half the time I end up disappointed. Owens & Co. absolutely knocked it out of the park. And don't be fooled by the location. From the side, you might think you're walking into some small "wannabe" BBQ joint. Walk through the front door and that impression disappears immediately. This is a real restaurant--with great service, great atmosphere, and, most importantly, GREAT food. We showed up around 12:50 on a Saturday afternoon, and I had my favorite lunch partner with me--my wifey--which made discovering this place even better. It wasn't very crowded yet, but the smell when we walked in was hypnotic. Smoked meats, BBQ, and all those incredible sides hitting you at once. The space itself is really nice, too, with huge windows and a great view. Then, while we were eating, the crowd started building both at the attached brewery and inside the restaurant. Before long, the whole place was buzzing with energy. I can't say enough about the team at Owens & Co. I don't remember everyone's names yet, but I plan on learning them because WE WILL be back.
