I went in for a check engine light and I told them about the traction control lights that it came with and it possibly being a transmission solenoid based on code reading. They proceed to tell me they dont do solenoids and only replace transmissions for these situations. They didn't offer to re-check codes. Service was quite disappointing with no introduction or hello, just a "Give me a moment". They mentioned they dont do solenoid because they've had customers who had the ~$1,600 work done and then come back with the same issue only to then be told they need a new transmission ~$4,000. My issue is why not just send back a response stating this when I mentioned it in my appointment request. read more

Overall, I am quite happy with the service and will be returning for future car maintenance needs. Update- On my second visit, they have changed the engine and transmission fluid. My second visit to Davenport motor company came after a morning of rain where I tried to roll my windows down to get the excess rain and dew off of the windows so I could see while driving. The back rear window apparently came off track during that process it would not roll back up. I immediately reached out to Davenport motor company a second time in addition to the dealership for price comparison. Davenport motor company came in at 50%. Less than the dealership. Parts were not even needed to be ordered for this situation. They were able to repair and reassemble the part that holds the window in place and controls the upward and downward movement. Again, Evan was phenomenal and his efforts. He took care of me, a second time and even provided a loan car and they took care of the work over Christmas break. I even forgot to fill up the loan car with gas due to a busy hectic schedule, and he took care for me this time. Very professional, very organized, very clean and nice facility. August 2016 Davenport (Plano) put a new battery in my Lexus ES 350. I was told that the battery should last 3-5 Years. On October 20, 2017, my car would not start. I called Davenport & Jeff told me that my battery was under warranty and to have the car either towed or jump started, so it could get to the shop and they would look at it. After having the battery analyzed, Jeff came to the waiting room & shared with me that there was a dead cell in the battery. He said they would replace the battery and wash my car. I agreed. Once the car was finished, Jeff told me I needed to pay $79. My response was "for what? You told me the battery was under warranty". Jeff had no empathy. No customer service skills. He was cold & it was disheartening because I have been a loyal customer to Davenport for many years. Jeff's response was that the $79 was to cover the tests that were ran on the battery and labor. Jeff...shouldn't this be something that you advise a customer of BEFORE you do the work? This should have been something that was shared with me when I made the initial phone call. When this concern was shared with Jeff, his response was "I looked at your history with us, you have been coming here for a while, you should know nothing is free". I was floored! My perception of Jeff is below par and no longer want to do business with him. read more

I have been getting vehicles serviced by Davenport since 1993. I kept my 1990 Lexus LS 400 for 244,000 miles, my 1996 LS 400 225,000 miles and my 2001 Toyota Tundra 259,000 miles and now they service my 2017 Tundra. Preventative maintenance is very important for any vehicle. The Davenport guys don't try to up sell or take advantage of their customers. Sometimes it depends on who you get here. Since my Lexus is out of warranty (It's a 2004) and I've always believed that dealership repair is too high dollar, I found the place on a recommendation from a friend. I have only been to the one in Plano, so I can't speak for the Inwood location. Price-wise, there's no question this will beat any Lexus dealership across the board with hourly fees. In most cases they've been able to get better pricing on parts, but in one case in particular they could only match what the dealer offered for it. I also remember a case where they had given me a quote 6 months before and I finally got around to getting the repair done. The part had gone up in price by $500 but they honored the quote. I do a lot of highway driving and the front end of my car has been getting some serious road rash lately, I'm sure from all the construction along the highways around here. They found a guy that fixed the whole front (mostly touch up on paint chips, scratches, etc) and charged about $100. I'll always take my Lexus here for sure. My personal preference at the Plano location is Jimy Wright. He's a good dude. read more

Updated: The problem is not two days I got my car back, the problem was my inverter water pump was working just fine, but you guys wanted to fix something that was not broken in the first place and still told me that I needed to pay more to get fixed for other stuff. Toyota quoted a lot cheaper for fixing my inverter water pump which was what I thought the problem was. ADVICE: TRY TO GET QUOTES AT DIFFERENT PLACES TO MAKE SURE YOU ARE NOT OVER CHARGED. THIS PLACE IS A TRAP! BE CAREFUL WITH THIS PLACE! I got a quick diagnosis from Auto Zone, so I took my car to the shop and told them the code and asked them to fix it for me, they told me that they would have to do their own diagnosis for $65 which I agreed to. Then two days later, they called me and let me know that they had the same result as Auto Zone which was my inverter water pump has to be replaced, they wanted to charge me $650. I ended up taking my car to Toyota, Toyota only charged me $230 to get it fixed and the problem was not even the inverter water pump! They did absolutely nothing and wanted to over charge me! They also told me that I might have to spend more money to get other stuff fixed. WALK AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! YOU ARE BETTER OFF ELSE WHERE BECAUSE ALL THEY WANT IS TAKING YOUR MONEY AWAY! read more

Did a great job on a complex repair. They replaced the AC evaporator coil on our RX350, which involves removing the entire front dashboard. AC works great now. They also replaced our steering rack and pinon. You get the dealership service without the dealership prices. read more
