Charged me $218 to tune up my bike. 3 months later (with VERY little use) the shift cable snaps. Manager claims I "gave him a hard time" when in reality I asked if I'd get charged to replace the cable. Dave returns the bike to me incomplete and says I'll get better service when I'm not "giving his manager" a hard time. Do NOT waste your time and money on this failed establishment you will be sorely disappointed. Old man Dave must be losing his marbles poor fella needs to retire. Better service other places!!!

Me posing with my Trek while on a ride in Northern California, equipped with gear purchased from Dave's Bike shop.

On a recent work assignment, I needed some gear for my bike. They had everything I needed to equip my 80's vintage Trek to my needs while staying in Ukiah. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

This is me with my most excellent e-bike. Got it at Dave's Bike Shop in Ukiah, CA. I love my bike & our local bike shop!

Got my fantastic e-bike at Dave's Bike Shop. Well, actually I got my bike, helmut, new tires, pouch, gloves, water bottle and more right there at Dave's. We also love the bike rack we got there so now we are really ready to cycle almost anywhere!! We are totally satisfied customers and also love that Dave's is such a community supporter!! Go see them, if they dont have it, they will try to get it for you!!! Susan

I came in from out of town looking for some supplies for a local bike ride. What I got was great customer service, a free map, and some very good directions on some local rides with the wine country in the background. The prices of the bikes are pretty good they have rentals and they have a little bit of everything including nutritional supplies for those long rides out here in the mountains.

Great shop. They had a great selection and my 11 year old found his dream bike. Happiest I've seen him and he rides it all the time.

Definitely debated renting a canoe as well but we just didn't have enough time. The bikes were perfect to get us around town and down a trial close by. We had them reserved for 3 hours but they weren't worried about our time limit as long as we got them back by 4:30. The owners of the shop are super chill and relaxed. We felt very welcomed in their space. It was easy to book online and they're very responsive and flexible. I will say the breaks on the bike were a little worn but didn't pose any issues for us. We felt safe riding around and had no trouble.

I was a little bit nervous because our pup doesn't exactly love water nor do we canoe often, but Rick via email and the staff on site were so helpful in answering any lingering questions. Rowing away from site was easy and smooth, and we floated off the side for a bit to take in the view. Once the wind picked up, rowing back was harder since we were going against the current, but still manageable! Everyone had a great time. We didn't use up the full three hours we were booked for, but nonetheless made it quite the way before turning back. We also respectfully from a distance, saw many seals! Our pup ended up enjoying her time on the canoe, and was all smiles. She was so relaxed that she actually fell asleep on the way back while we worked to paddle against the current. I'd say totally add this to your itinerary and make sure you bring a hat, sunscreen, and water for hydration!

i didn't see eye-to-eye with Gravy on some minor points, but have to say after 5 years of riding…read morethem that the wheels Gravy built for me are still perfectly in true and in round and the absolute best riding set i have ever had. i'm no featherweight, and i've had many other wheels built by professional wheel-builders, Tour de France mechanics, and wizards of all kinds. even compared to other wheels i have using the same hubs and rims as my Gravy set, my Gravy wheels stand above the rest, deserving of all those over-used superlatives you always hear; they are laterally rigid and still seemingly magically more supple through road surface irregularities than any i have experienced. i don't know if it's because of the spoke tension, or his practice of truing again a final time after letting them sit at tension overnight or something else, but whatever it is he's doing, it works. the things that i thought odd (aligning the valve hole opposite the hub label instead of so the hub label is viewable through the valve hole, lacing the rear hub outer-pull with the front hub mismatched as inner-pull, and using a contrasting-color nipple next to the valve) all don't seem to have detracted from the primary function of the wheels at all. Gravy's not the quickest or the least expensive, but seemed to be honest about everything we discussed and in my mind was worth every penny. GravyWheels will be my first choice for my next wheel build, and gets my highest recommendation.

Admittedly, we had a couple rough interactions many years ago like I'm seeing are in other past reviews, but for a good while we have consistently had nothing but pleasant interactions here and we really enjoy coming into their shop! So we hope anyone with more negative reviews will give them another shot. We recently brought in my son's little GT bmx bike that needed something with the pedals fixed. (Important to note: We live here on the coast and have had such a small space with no garage, so this bike has spent several years out in the coastal elements. Therefore to sum it up best, its appearance would fit right in at a junkyard. Despite its appearance, our son still gets so much enjoyment out of this bike.) The owner at Fort Bragg Cyclery was kind, tactful and polite despite the sight he was seeing looking at this thing. He determined what level of "fixed" we were going for considering the poor-overall condition, and got the work done pretty quick and for a good price! The rust-bucket bmx bike lives on thanks to Fort Bragg Cyclery, and it continues to be enjoyed often! (These days we now have a nice little shed set up for our kids to store their newer mountain bikes which they're taking fantastic care of .)
