My son and I stopped in to Dave's as we were looking for a quick bite to eat. We both ordered the #3 (1 tender and 1 slider). I preferred the slider to the plain tender, but regardless, the chicken was served piping hot and was very tender and juicy. It had a nice crisp and paired well with their Dave's sauce, and I love that you can get any level of spice you desire. The tenders are large too, so it was plenty of food. While we were impressed with chicken, the fries were pretty standard, and a little side of something would have been nice...I think the hot spicy chicken left me wanting a cool potato salad or something refreshing, rather than fries. The menu is pretty limited. The biggest disappointment was the iced tea. It seems the machine was malfunctioning as no matter which flavor tea we tried, they all seemed to be 90% water and 10% tea. Really bad, and a waste of $7.00 for two horrible fountain drinks. read more

Dave's messed my order and I was waiting for 15 minutes. Asked for a refund and the guy gave it to me. He also told me to wait one more minute; the order was finishing. He even said I could leave if 60 seconds passed. I got my order. Really nice of him. He didn't have to go out of his way to do that but he still did. Pretty yummy! This place is kept pretty clean, and there's a code to use the bathroom. Food came out hot and fresh. I will also say that there's a ghost kitchen that operates outside of this establishment, and I'm not a fan of that. We were looking for the ghost kitchen, and came here. We enjoyed our meals, but it's a bit misleading. Staff is very friendly, and this is a great location for this place. read more

Checked out this place in. Boston, wanted to know what the hype is about Dave's hot chicken, does it live up to the hype ? Read on Ordering Pretty simple process just like any fast food place. No table side service is available Food options Variety of chicken sliders, cauliflower, zucchini and fries Spice level goes up from not spice to Reaper. Tried the extra hot but it wasn't spicy enough for the hype, I have had better level of spice under the top. Drinks options So many shakes and the usual soda. Seating options are open seating and enough seats to have a group of 4 to sit. Pricing is slightly high, sauces are included with the sliders. Overall I had an average experience, quality and speed of delivery brings up the star rating. A local branches in CT are opening, will give them a try one more time. You want some variety you go here and want to get some more spicy hot chicken go else where. read more

The company has really nice branding! However, I honestly am just not a big fan. Personally, I found the chicken to not be crispy and the spice levels to be more about heat than flavor. Easy to get to spot in Boston for a quick bite. Came here on a weekend night and we didn't have to wait in a long line. People at the counter were nice. Food came out right away - ordered a Hot Dave's slider with fries and it... sort of lived up to the hype. Loved the fries, as they were very crispy and had a great seasoning. The chicken was breaded nicely and was very crunchy, but the way they spiced it (rolling in dust post-frying) made the meat pretty dusty. I was excited to try out this new location since I have been to Dave's in Newton. I ordered online and got the #3 combo 1 slider and 1 tender. I checked in at the counter the server asked for my name and said it'd be out in 2 minutes. About 10 minutes have passed and I am still waiting for my order, while I see friends of workers coming in and getting orders before mine. The guy at the counter asked for my name again and said 2 minutes, but again I waited for much longer. I came here in the afternoon and there was only 1 other person who had got there order and left, so I'm not sure why it took so long. I ordered a medium slider and a mild chicken tender, but when I was eating I noticed the slider was not spicy and realized it was switched. The chicken was crispy and it definitely needs the sauce to add more flavor. The pickles were a good palate cleanser after eating all the fried food. Dave's Hot Chicken is one of the best fast food place in Boston. The chicken was really tender and well seasoned. I got the hot and extra hot but the extra hot was a bit too spicy for me. I think if you are good with spices extra hot will be good but hot is good for people not too good with spicy food. The sandwiches are great in restaurant, but I recommend the tenders when ordering online to avoid soggy buns. The service is a bit slow but that's mostly because of the high volume of online orders. If you like spicy food, I definitely recommend getting either extra hot or reaper (depending on tolerance) because the "hot" level doesn't have much spice at all. read more

I got the #3 slider and tender combo and went for light mild on the slider and mild on the tender to be safe, personally I would definitely go hotter next time but my bf got hot and said it was pretty spicy. They make you sign a waiver for the reaper spice; the reaper spice is no joke; I had a piece the size of a quarter and it was very irritable. Oh man. What a treasure this place is. Never heard of it and stopped in on a whim. I was not disappointed. Really friendly and speedy service, affordable prices, and CRAZY good chicken. I've been to dave's before and the chicken sandwich was okay. I thought it was would go back and try a milkshake on my way home from work. To say that my experience was disappointing is an understatement. I walk in to an empty restaurant and all the staff are chatting together in a circle and ignoring me at the register after making eye contact with me. I wait a couple minutes before someone takes my order. Very simple, a chocolate milkshake. What i received was the most disgusting thing ever, seemed like rancid milk and very bitter chocolate barely mixed together. It was the consistency of milk, not thick at all like you would expect a milkshake to be. I took a couple sips and had to throw it out because it immediately made my stomach sick. Established in 2017.

In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept -- take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw -- they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long. After 6 months of running the pop-up with long lines, the team took the plunge and opened their first physical store in January 2018 in a sleepy strip center in East Hollywood. Demand for their crave-able hot chicken exceeded all expectations and sales have grown every month since opening with consistently long lines throughout the day.

The cheese topokki was just as good as we remembered - chewy, flavorful, comforting, & a little bit weird. The cheese was poorly distributed, but it was still very tasty. The beef bulgogi bowl was really underwhelming. Firstly, it was very little food. We were promised vegetables, but there were only a few scarce onions & zucchini pieces mixed in. It was also dry. It was devoid of moisture & sauce, so we added some from the fridge at home. The side of soup was a joke. It filled only about 2/3 of the container & looked so sad, we wondered if it was the sauce that we we so desperately needed. Nope, just a meager amount of watered down miso soup. So the conclusion - great topokki, sub-par bulgogi, non-existent soup.

Together the two made a complementary meal that was satisfying. Despite how hard it was to track down our waiter, we still enjoyed the part of the meal we had. The upstairs definitely feels like the waiters are more on top of it and there is a more airy ambiance. The downstairs wasnt the most ideal and while good for big groups, youre still very aware of dining in a basement.
