Dave's Hot Chicken seems to be our go-to now whenever we're in East Lansing and want something quick. Nate and I stopped in recently and got the saucy bites flight to try their new sauced boneless wings - the sampler came with spicy buffalo, spicy bbq, and hot honey. I went with the two tender combo, mild spice. They still are huge portions (I forgot this, and totally could have ordered just 1 tender) and the mild is very mild. I could have gone up to medium. I love their sauce (it is very similar to the Cane's sauce). The saucy bites were okay, but I prefer the regular dry rub. The hot honey was way too sweet for me (should have known) but the spicy bbq was pretty good. I can't complain about this chain chicken spot and kind of hope they open one in the GR area. read more

The workers are kind and they have no problem suggesting something on the menu just in case it's your first time ordering there or maybe you just don't know what you want. Dave's has unfortunately been on a steady decline since their opening. When they opened I loved the food, it was quick service, and a great atmosphere but as time goes on the customer service just continues to get worse and worse. Let me just break down my experience today (my last time going here). Ordered and then waited 20minutes, the place was not even close to busy and I watched as the cooks and girl that was working up front talked and joked around while the only few orders weren't done and we were waiting, then the food finally came and they messed up the order (asked for no slaw) which they proceeded to give me a dirty look, take it to the back and scrape the slaw off my sandwich, walk back laughing and hand it to me. We then waited ANOTHER 20 minutes for my girlfriend's order all while the girl up front sat on her phone talking to the cooks about "connecting to the Aux". Dave the manager there is absolutely amazing, but the other employees (or at least the ones on shift February 2nd @ 3:00) couldn't care less! Recommend getting some new people in there before more people like me spend our money elsewhere read more
