I had a very unfortunate experience at this location on 2/8/26 and I have been satisfied many times before at this location with both food and service. Yesterday I went to pick up an order I placed 3 hours in advance only to discover that one of the sides I paid extra for was not included. When I asked the lady at the counter about this she said they ran out of "celery and carrots" so I said okay, well no one told me and how can I get this corrected? She said you won't that all your order. I said wait a minute how can that be when I paid extra for the additional side and no one told me you were out. She proceeded to begin looking annoyed and the other coworker Ethan said to me, well what other side would you like? The women looked at him and began mouthing words to him as if I was not there and she then looked back at me and said there is nothing we can give you and if you want to buy another side you can do that. I was immediately caught of guard and shocked by her words and rude behavior as at this time she began to roll her eyes at me talk to me a short rude manner. I did not back down and said this was not right and asked for an itemized receipt as the one on my bag was not itemized and she told me she could not give it to me since they do not have those. She began to help others around me and left me there as if I did not exist and after waiting a couple of minutes to see if she would continue helping me (which she did not) I had to interject and ask if she was going to ignore or was she willing to help me. Again, I got an eye roll and big poof of breath as if I was bothering her. i asked to speak to the manager who then came out, I spoke to her about the situation and also she would not give me her name or the other woman's name saying it was not necessary and that I did not need them even though I already was aware of the young man named Ethan. Again, I tried to get a replacement side after explaining the situation - I then selected cole slaw and then Ethan yelled out we are out of that too. The manager walked away, the woman at the front continued to ignore me and I tried then to ask what do you have in available .....again many moments of being ignored until I stood front and center of the counter explaining I would not leave until getting some help. I was then told to go look at the menu board.....again completely disrespected as if I was the one doing something wrong. I mean when I was told my additional side I paid for was out of stock or they ran out, why was I not immediately offered a refund or another side. Only complaint was the one my SO had was a rather thin piece of chicken, my chicken was perfect. The fries upped to garlic parm sauce. That was really good, adequate sauce on fries. I happened to see the Detroit Wing Company (DWC) and decided to give it a try. The store is easy to access and shares an entry with Tropical Smoothie. First things first the store appeared very clean with a basic set up as there is no seating inside, only to go orders. The food was quick arriving in about 15 minutes. I ordered the poutine which I have to say was awesome! The size was not bad, and the container was packed full. I would definitely recommend the poutine if you love gravy fries! The next thing I had was the Creole Parmesan chicken wings. I wasn't sure what to expect however I have to say that I really liked the flavor. The wings were a nice size and for a flavor I've never had before I would order this again in a heartbeat. I ordered the bone in on this visit and not the boneless. Lastly I had the Florida Citrus BBQ wings. Now I wasn't too sure how i would feel about this but I was pleasantly surprised. The citrus flavors blended with the BBQ sauce very nicely. Grabbed DWC on a whim and it was ok. We ordered 40 wings split (half bone-in and half boneless) well-done with sauce on the side, but they came sauced with extra sauce on the side. We always order sauce on the side when we get carry out wings because they end up getting soggy by the time we get home and unfortunately that was the case tonight, especially on the well-done bone-in wings. Also, it gives you a chance to try different sauces and you aren't stuck with one for your entire meal if it ends up being one that you don't like all that much. We ended up with creole Parmesan on the bone-in wings and firecracker on the boneless tonight. We paid extra for sides of their teriyaki and honey Chipotle sauces to try, but didn't end up trying them because we didn't think those flavors would be good on top of the already sauced wings. We liked the firecracker sauce on the boneless wings and would order that one again. We didn't like the creole Parmesan sauce. We also tried Cajun rub fried and plain fries and both were good. My fiancé tried the coleslaw and liked it. He also tried and liked the Buffalo chicken dip. We both tried the cornbread bites and they were dense. They also would have been better warm. We had plenty of leftovers (by design) to save for tomorrow. The first time I got the fries they were plan no seasoning and gross the second time I got fries I chose to get the Cajun seasoning and god damn they were SALTY AF!!! If you're trying to get a kidney stone and I recommend getting the Cajun fries but overall avoid the fries 100%. However with the Lansing locations, you'll probably get a different taste weekly. Detroit Wing Company has been one of my favorite restaurants to grab a bite to eat since they opened back in 2015-2016. I've never been disappointed by any menu item I've ordered from them until 2023 when I moved to Lansing, Michigan. I wasn't aware Detroit Wing Company had made its way to Lansing until 3-4 months ago. I throughly enjoyed stopping by this restaurant when I lived on the south side of Detroit, it would always be my Go-to for my hour lunch breaks! So what a lovely discovery to find out they have a Cedar Street and Delta Location here in Lansing. Now however? I'll Probably never eat at another Detroit Wing Company again. How can you fall in love with DWC for years and fallout of love in such a short period of time you ask? Just visit one of their Lansing locations. They will either overcook, undercook, or give you food that hasn't even finished thawing. I'm not too sure whether chicken's can swim in the wild or not, but it seems when captive and deceased from being chopped and fried in grease, they must have gained Michael Phelps abilities because every order of classic or boneless wings has been flooded with too much sauce. [The sauces, that my chicken has been caught swimming in include Buffalo, Honey BBQ, Garlic Parmesan, Creole Parmesan or Tiger Sauce] Let me point out all the negative things about DWC's locations here in the capital. 1. I haven't seen a single employee wearing hair nets 2. Unprofessionalism from cashiers 3. Contamination on boxes [If I ordered buffalo wings why is the box always covered in another sauce flavor on the outside?] 4. Incorrect orders just get replaced with another incorrect order 5. Rudeness when calling to make a complaint about an order from the employees 6. Very loud cursing and swearing can be heard from behind the counter when you walk in to place an order. 7. Filthy Music playing [Some of us who come to order have children with us and hearing profanity come from behind the counter is not something you expect when coming into a restaurant to grab a bite to eat] 8. Employees smoking marijuana behind the facility? I came in to place an order a few weeks ago and nobody came to the counter for almost 3-4 mins so I assumed they weren't serving and decided to leave. I drove around the back way because I had to go next door to Aldi's, and behold! 4 DWC employees are on the side of the building smoking a joint and using some device to smoke something out of a tiny jar from what I could see. Your employee's are that desperate for a fix that you have to get high on the job? 9. I went to pick up orders for my friends at the cedar street location and there was a redhead girl and a curly black haired girl vaping behind the counter before I walked in. They clearly seen me through the glass windows getting ready to enter the facility, and they proceeded to walk off into some black door off to the ride side of where there wall menu is posted. 3 mins later someone comes from what I assume to be the kitchen door area to take my order. 10. Why are employees eating? There were several times I've entered both delta and cedar street locations and have encountered employees eating behind the register or coming out with my order and they're chewing food! 11. What happened to showcasing the items to make sure that they are correct? Orders come out wrong so much it's only right to double check. 12. Sauces SHOULDN'T COST $1, seriously McDonald's charges ¢0.50 and they at least give you a whole cup and not a half cup of sauce. 13. Trays they serve the food on are always filthy, covered in seasoning, sauce, or whatever food particles they leave behind next to supposedly "Cooked fresh by order Served" food. 14. Box leakage! Whatever material they use for their boxes tends to leak sauce either right through it or from the side! The boxes are so flimsy that your order might end up opening and spilling all inside the bag. 15. Ordered lemonade from here before and the lid was lose that it spilled all in the passenger seat of my car 16. Ordered a large order from the cedar street location and received an expired 2-litter 17. Please don't bring my food out and touch my food boxes with disposable gloves on that are oily or dirty 18. When I brought 2 sauces back and explained they did not taste like chipotle barbecue sauce, the cashier removed the lid, dipped her finger in the sauce to taste it herself and said "You're right this is whiskey bbq." I was so disgusted when she left to get me the correct sauce, I left before she could return. read more

As far as the wings go, boneless and classic, they are the definition of mid. The flavor selection seems to be the only redeeming factor here. There's much better wing places in Lansing. A few of my buds and I decided to check this location out a few days after opening. We had one order of 24 wings and two separate orders of 48 wings. We were in a rush to get home when we went to pick the wings up but as soon as we looked at the food, we realized they shorted us a whole 48 wings (24 from each order of 48).
