Drive through guy was nice. I got the #3 the tender mild and the sandwich lite mild. It came with crispy fries, and pickles. I order hot honey and a fruity pebble Neapolitan small shake. First time here I placed my order at 946 and received it at 957... not super long but I like my chicken cooked so I'll let that slide. I enjoyed the size of the chicken strip. Interested in trying the mozz next time. It looks very well lit indoors and out. After trying a fruity pebbles shake, I would definitely not recommend it. Trying them again since the first time I came I ordered to go and they barely opened. First experience wasn't great, waited almost 2hours. Understandable since it was fairly new. Finally got to come inside to sit down and try their food. We got The box meal which comes with 4 sliders, chicken bites and mozzarella sticks. Everything was good, I love that they have REAPER RANCH. We got extra hot and reaper. Surprisingly the reaper was tolerable but I would prefer the extra hot for a perfect spice level if you like spicy. I didn't care for the Mozzarella sticks so much because it was giving me that satisfying cheese pull. The bites were perfect and their Mac and cheese was good. The sliders were good as well, I like their slaw they put On there. Also if you haven't yet I suggest to download their app for rewards, I was able to get a free drink and person at the counter gave us 2 cups! Nice. I'm glad we tried it because my teenage son said we needed to try it. We're not from the area so had to give it a shot. Oh my.... The paprika or whatever seasoning they have on the chicken is super overpowering. If they mellowed it out by 25 percent, it would be super good. I couldn't stomach this and finish my plate. Dave's Hot Chicken is one of my favorite chicken chains, and I'm really glad they opened one up in Fresno so I don't have to plan trips to LA to get some. I went during their soft opening before they were at full operation, and it was a vibe. I like the wall art they chose for this location, although I will say it did look a little different than the other locations I've been too. Nonetheless, we walked up to the counter and placed our order for two #4's, lite mild. The staff was very nice and accommodating, I'm sure they were well trained by the supervisors to make sure they had stellar attitude for this opening, which I appreciate. The place is really spacious, so we were able to find seating easily and wait for our food. The food was called, and we dug in - this is where I was a little disappointed, but I'll give them some benefit of the doubt since it was their soft opening. I have gotten lite mild before, and I don't remember it being that plain. It almost seemed like they put absolutely no spice on our chicken, and I think they might have considering there was a "no spice" sticker on one of our sliders. Either way, the sauce was great and everything tasted fresh, which I liked. Again, I'd just want more spice even for a lite mild slider. I'll have to revisit to see if this is the standard and if I should order higher. read more

The food was amazing, I tried the hot spice level and it was perfect, if you want to challenge yourself the reaper I heard was super spicy. The service was okay, they used to let you get a lot of honey packets because it is so good with honey, but now even though we are a group of 3, they gave us 2 honey packets. We went to go ask for some more honey but they are very stingy with it. So it was a little disappointing with staff. Also we came late at night about 2 hours before closing and they are more focused on the drive through so when you have a question about something you would have to wait, the staff talking to eachother are more important than you. (Sadly) The ambience in the restaurant was very nice, the art was really cool with graffiti. Overall good food, but staff could be better. read more

This visit was a whole lot better than the first time I came which was super fuccin packed and had me in the drive thru forever!! That's cus it was new. All that died down. We chose to order inside instead. The inside looked cool with the artsy feels on the wall. I noticed they had a hot mozz sandwich and just the pieces kinda like the popular ones from chilis on the menu.. chilis looks better tho. I didn't get to try the one from Dave's cus I really just wanted the chicken. Maybe next time. I went with the number three which is tender and a slider, fries it's on the side. And I got a side of Mac and cheese. I had to sign a waiver per usual cus I be ordering the spiciest one. Love me some reaper!! Got some hot honey and Dave's sauce as well. I did order reaper ranch but I noticed that wasn't in the bag but we had already took off. Everything tasted great! Chicken was hot n juicy. Crinkle fries was seasoned. Surprisingly the reaper wasn't as spicy as when I first had it. It was very tolerable. Was very excited to try this place since everyone talks about it. After the long wait i did drive to work about 10 mins and my food was already cold by the time i ate it. Unfortunately I didn't even finish it, I ordered it medium spice level but it had no spice to it. If you are planning to eat here keep that in mind maybe order one level higher. The fries were good but again they were cold. As for the bread it was just a regular sandwich bread, idk what i was expecting. The customer service was good besides the wait time. Paid for it and given a buzzer. Waited for it to be ready. Vibrant colors on walls. Lots of seating inside. Red tables & chairs. Drive-thru too! Very busy & booming! Waited a bit. Clean and safe. Buzzer went off and received order with good day wishes! Appreciated! Lunchtime! Hot slider was Hot, tasty & Great! Fresh coleslaw & pickles in it making it even better! Definitely HOT! Food Review: Dave's Hot Chicken - Fresno (Shaw & First) Alright, so I finally tried Dave's Hot Chicken. Not sure if this place is a chain or someone's side hustle gone wild but either way, it's got personality. The moment you walk in, it's like stepping into a graffiti art show that also happens to serve chicken. The walls are colorful, the music's loud, and the menu? Super simple. Basically, you get the choice of sliders or tenders. I ordered the #3 combo one slider, one tender, and a drink cost $20. The slider was solid. It's basically a big chicken tender between two burger buns with pickles, coleslaw, and sauce. I got "mild" because I enjoy having taste buds. Even at mild, it still had some kick. The combo of slaw, sauce, and pickles worked well together--sweet, crunchy, spicy, and a little messy (in a good way). Now, the tender on its own... eh. It looked great, all fancy with its red-orange breading, but the seasoning was kind of weird solo. It definitely needed dipping sauce to help it along. The fries were crinkle-cut, hot, and crispy so no complaints there. All in all, Dave's Hot Chicken is good, but not sock dropping. If you've been to Houston's Hot Chicken or Hot Chicks, it's in that same ballpark. I'd say it's seemed more of a hangout spot for teenagers eating chicken sandwiches. Final Score: out of 5 stars. The portions were very small but that wasnt what upset me. There is a serious water leak right by the kiosks, there is a caution sign but nothing was put out to catch the water from hitting the ground. Unfortunately a young man did not see how much water was spreading on the floor and slipped and fell, a worker decided to laugh and just turn her back to act like she did not see him slip. I tried this in Japantown LA before, and it's just as good as I remember. Super fresh, super tasty -- and I totally recommend it. The slushies are lifesavers if you're going spicy. Not personally a fan of the ice cream add-on, but that's just me. It's definitely busy right now, and that's expected, but I'm sure once the hype settles a bit it'll still be a solid spot, especially since it's in such a popular part near the mall. I'm gonna be honest about this place. I was very excited for here to open up here in Fresno. Their food is actually pretty good. The flavor of the chicken is pretty good too! One thing to know, though is that they're spice levels are very mild. I did get medium on my chicken on the medium is very very mild. It is not that hot at all. I feel like I would have to order extra hot or extra spicy or something like that in order to reach the spice level that I want. I was very disappointed about the service. I was in a drive-through line and the wait was almost like 30 minutes. It isn't new to me how long you have to wait for a place that just opened up and is new. However, the only reason why I am disappointed is because the line I was in only had four cars in it and I waited about 15 minutes at the window still for my order and it was at 11 AM so I was like one of the first customers and I think I was having a hard time understanding why it took a long time for my order. I also had only ordered one slider. I can't comment too much about the environment of the place because I did not go inside however, the outside of the restaurant was very clean. This place is right outside the fashion fair mall. It's just a little tight and cramped due to the parking situation. However I do judge a place the most on customer service, I came 12/3/25 @6:45pm went through drive through and was quickly served the guy at the drive also asked if it was my first time here and I said yes. When I got to the window there had been an mis communication with the slushy I ordered which I thought was not a big deal . I asked for the "rocket cream" and he heard "strawberry cream" . I thought it wouldn't be a issue but when I told him it was wrong if I can get the one I wanted he paused and looked at me and gave me a fed up look as if I purposely did that. And then he just shut the window and said nothing. After he just hands me the correct drink and I felt as if I had to apologize again because how irritated he looked at me.
