This was my first time at a Dave's Hot Chicken and it was delicious! The staff is attentive and friendly. We ordered at the kiosk and they gave us our drink cups right away. They also gave us packets of sauce for no extra charge. We got the new mini slider combo with fries and it was all yummy. The chicken was cooked perfectly and well flavored. The fries were even better dipped in the dave's sauce that we mixed a honey packet into -- so good. This location especially had some cool murals on the wall too. Pleasantly surprised! We tried this spot twice this week -- once with no spice on the chicken tenders and once with mild for me and medium for my partner. They have a hierarchy for spice level that you're able to choose from when you order. My box came with mild chicken tenders, seasoned French fries, pickles and 2 pieces of white bread. It also came with Dave's sauce. The tenders were really tasty -- extra large and the breaded is nice and crunchy. The mild was just that -- mild but still adding flavor with the other spices used in their rub. The chicken itself was moist and delicious! Fries were tasty and pickles were a great addition to munch on as well. I wasn't too sure about the white bread -- I didn't eat them. My partner's medium tenders took the heat barely to the next level to us but I do prefer a heat level that is present but not overwhelming. Service was excellent -- employees were kind and checked on us. I haven't had service like this at a fast food place except for Chik-Fil-A and In-N-Out. Recently went here on my lunch break. I had never been here before. The ambiance here was a nice chill and modern feel. Lots of room with tables and chairs. When I asked the cashier what she recommended and she suggested the slider with fries combo but adding cheese to my fries was a must. I was a little surprised that they didn't have hot honey as an option because who doesn't love hot honey with their Dave's hot chicken. I did request regular honey though. My spice level was lite mild but next time I would definitely go for mild because there was no spice to it. The slider and cheese fries were delicious and they have ample side of pickles, which I loved. Overall those place is a solid 7/10. Will definitely return when I am in the area. read more

I got the spice, medium and added, honey on top of my sandwich. The sandwich had one Dave's hot chicken tender coleslaw, pickles on a delicious brioche bun. My husband got the two tender combo with french fries. Their fries are in my top five. I love them and crave them often. Our food was very fresh and the service was pretty good. We did order our food on the self service kiosk. But there was a employee that came to check on us to ensure that our food was good and ask if we needed additional condiments. I've been hearing mixed reviews on Dave's hot chicken, so I finally decided to check it out my self. I ordered online and the food was ready in 10 mins. I was greeted nicely for my pickup and the lady behind the counter was very nice great service. The restaurant was clean and well kept looked like a good place to dine in. I ordered the tender hot, and slider mild.I will say that they didn't disappoint the chicken is seasoned and spicy and when you add honey it puts it over the top. The fries were good, and I'm a big pickle guy so the amount of pickles was a big plus for me. The reason for 4 stars is the sauce I'm a sauce eater and this was not it, the sauce literally tasted like Mayo, they need to get canes sauce recipe and this place would be a 5 star for me. It just works better with the soft bun and the slaw and sauce. The tenders are plenty delicious, but the sliders are the way to go. Medium heat is plenty spicy, but won't burn the hell out of your mouth. Cheese fries were bomb! Love their chicken! Cashier was friendly as can be, and the inside had plenty of seating. I got the medium level of heat and although the fries and the tenders were very good the medium heat did have a kick to it the service was phenomenal. We were served very fast and friendly, and the ambience was moderately loud but for a quick bite to eat, especially if you like hot items or spicy items this is definitely the spot to go again. I had the medium level of heat and for me it had a bit of a kick. I don't even wanna imagine what the higher levels of heat taste like or how hot they are will definitely be back to try more items at this place in the future highly recommended. read more

I was excited to try Dave's Hot Chicken, Indio, but now having tried it, seriously, I don't understand the buzz. The Tenders (alone, $4.25, and on a Slider, $6.25) were cylindrical, not flat, unsuited for soft hamburger buns, barely seasoned, and messy / greasy. (IMHO, hoagie rolls would have been much better.) The pickles were good. The Kale Slaw on the Slider could have been great, if the Kale Slaw had been seasoned. As it was, only added crunch and moisture. The dipping sauces were really good. I liked the temperature, tenderness and creaminess of the Mac and Cheese ($3.50), but it was unseasoned, with zero cheese flavor. Zero ... close your eyes, you would never know it was supposed to contain cheese. I liked the chopped texture of the Kale Slaw ($3.50), but the slaw was unseasoned, flat and tasteless kale and cabbage. I didn't even finish it. But hey, the Men's Room and the dining room were really clean. The to-go containers the food were packed in were not clean - they were smeared with red tender grease, kale slaw and dipping sauce. Everything inside the containers was literally on the outside of the containers. Makes me worry about what is happening in the kitchen. Also, the two young ladies on the counter were very pleasant, with a warm greeting, identifying themselves, repeating my order back, and when I picked up my order, asking if there was anything else I needed. Very thoughtful. I did enjoy a free medium Soda (for me, Diet Coke, always Diet Coke, Caffeine Free when I can find it) for checking in on Yelp. It pays to Check In before ordering, so you don't miss the special deals. Thank You, Dave. For me, a nice restaurant and Staff, but the food was disappointing. I am sorry Dave. I tried the #3 combo which comes with 1 slider and 1 tender. I chose Medium heat. I ate the tender first and thought it was...okay. Nothing too special about it. Not sure how I felt about the flavor of the seasonings, but it was a nice medium heat for sure. I then tried the slider and I liked that one more. Although not going to lie I was already getting full off the one tender and fries! The tenders are pretty big. I think what made the slider good was that there's more to it, it's not just the chicken by itself. The mix of the slaw and cheese was great with it. I didn't particularly care for the sauce though. I compared it to Raising Cane's sauce which I just love so much. I wonder what Dave's puts in theirs because I didn't really like the flavor. And you always need to have a good flavored sauce to dip your chicken in! All in all I'm glad I tried it and I'd still come back again but just get a single slider instead. I'm not a big hot chicken fan or even a fired chicken sandwich fan, but Dave's got me liking their sandwiches. I get the light mild because I'm not a fan of eating anything that prevents me from tasting the food and only tasting the heat. That's a good sandwich. Great seasoning, crispy outer and moist tender interior. It's almost a perfect chicken sandwich. Beats any I've had Chick-fil-a, Popeyes, Canes or any other fast food chain. There's a limited number of menu items, but a wide range of heat choices, from not spicy to reaper pepper spicy. Tenders come with dipping sauce that's similar to thousand island without the pickle relish, fries, and a couple of slices of bread, which I guess you could use to wrap those tenders up like tacos. The kale slaw didn't have enough dressing on it, but was fresh and crisp. Mac and cheese was good, but my bf wanted more salt and pepper. Portion sizes are good, with me taking home the second tender for a little snackie later. Thank goodness, since we spent over $30 for two meals, a side, & drinks! (Free refills are available.)
