I've spent a lot of money at this location and have always supported them, but this experience completely changed my view. Today I found a long, curly black hair in the middle of my coleslaw, literally wrapped up with my chicken. It was beyond disgusting and honestly unacceptable. What made it worse was how it was handled. When I called the restaurant, I was told I would need to drive back if I wanted anything done about it. That makes no sense. Why should I have to go out of my way after receiving contaminated food? On top of that, I was told I would need to provide documentation just to get a refund. Basic hygiene should not be an issue, especially for a place that serves food at this volume. And when something like this does happen, customer service should step up, not make it harder for the customer. Other major chains know how to handle situations like this by making it right immediately and valuing the customer's time. Really disappointed. I was extremely disappointed with both the service and the quality of my order. I work for Bank of America and decided to use Dave's Hot Chicken for a networking event. I placed the order several days in advance and, on the day of pickup, called the restaurant simply to make sure everything was still on schedule. When I called, I explained that I was confirming my order and pickup time. The young lady who answered immediately told me, "There's no order." I explained that the payment had already been deducted and asked her to check again. She placed me on hold, came back, and then told me there was no order for that day. At that point, I had to ask her to check a third time. Suddenly, she was able to locate the order. Because I was already concerned about the confusion, I asked her to confirm the items in the order so there wouldn't be any issues when I arrived. She placed me on hold again, came back laughing, and then confirmed the order. My scheduled pickup time was 4:30 PM, and I arrived around 4:15 PM. I let the staff know that I was early and was simply waiting for my order. A young man then told me they were waiting for the order to "come through" before they could make it. Naturally, I was confused because I had placed the order days in advance and had literally called earlier that same day to confirm it. I asked if it would still be ready by 4:30 PM, and his response was basically, "I think so, but we can't make it until the order comes through." I waited patiently, and the order was eventually handed to me at 4:30 PM. The young lady at the front placed the bags on the counter and walked away without going over the order or checking to make sure everything was correct. Normally, I'm the type of person who grabs my order and leaves, but something told me to check it this time. I'm glad I did because what I received was unacceptable. I paid approximately $120 for what looked like someone had decided to play Picasso with a box of mini sliders. The presentation was a complete mess. The sliders were thrown together and looked nothing like something I would feel comfortable serving at a professional networking event. My event started at 5:30 PM, so unfortunately, I did not have enough time to go back inside and wait for them to remake the entire order. I also want to make it very clear that I parked directly in front of the restaurant and handled the boxes carefully. I did not toss the bags around, slam them into my car, or drive around with them for an extended period of time. The food was already in that condition when I received it. What made the situation even more disappointing was that the manager was present but she was too busy entertaining her friends in the dining area. With a large, prepaid order intended for an event, I would have expected some level of quality control before the food was handed to a customer. Between the confusion over whether my order even existed, the lack of confidence that it would be completed on time, the poor customer service, and the unacceptable presentation of the food, the entire experience was disappointing from beginning to end. No greeting, no enthusiasm, no warmth, just transactional. What I Ordered: - Slider (Mild) - Chicken Bites, Spicy BBQ - Fries - Two soft drinks The Fries: Ironically, the best thing on the table. Lightly seasoned, Cajun-style, crisp, and not greasy. These were genuinely solid and the only item I finished without issue. The Slider (Mild): This was disappointing in a very specific way. This location is big in my opinion they should add more chairs and tables since they have the space for it It was busy for a Saturday afternoon. Their menu is straight to the point. 4 combos and some sides to order. We got 2 number 2's hot for the chicken spice level a fountain drink and a strawberry lemonade slush. We got our seats and in less than 5 minutes we got our food. I rate the sandwich @ 10/10 their Dave's sauce with honey was fire. They also gave 4 extra pickles on the side without asking. Their chicken was seasoned well, juicy and cooked fresh. The lemonade was also great. They had good customer service after paying the young men mentioned his name and said "if you need anything let me know". Next the mac & cheese, the mac & cheese taste like it has the same spice on the fries so it taste like the fries just creamy. I got cheesy fries which had the same spice on it. Everything honestly taste the same because it seems like they put the same spice on everything that's why I did give it to three because there's no difference between all the items and flavor. It could definitely be better but a lot of people like them so I do see that. This place is just not to my liking. It doesn't appeal to me try and get once was good enough. Im writing about Dave's berry red bull slush I'm not even trying to be dramatic but this was genuinely so bad Red bull is my favorite Energy Drink i love every flavor I've tried every Red Bull fast food infusion imaginable and I've never had a complaint, so I was actually really excited to try this. No lie this literally tasted like fizzy Kool Aid. I couldn't taste the Red Bull AT ALL. And the cup is sooo small for almost $8?? Like I was genuinely shocked when they handed it to me I took 3 sips because I kept thinking there's no way it actually tastes this bad. This is definitely one of our favorite fried chicken spots in Summerline , it is absolutely delicious . We had a sandwich and Dave's bites and both were tasty. I also liked the sauce with it . The crinkle cut fries is very tasty too. You get to select how spicy you want the chicken, we got it lite mild which was perfect, not to spicy but not blend either. It was $15 with a small drink and tip. The Daves sauce was subpar but the fries were very crispy and excellent. The chicken I got was mild, but used a powder more than a sauce. Typical chicken place. Nothing too special. Service was okay. Ordered the slider meal with a shake. Chicken was decent, fries were great but the milk shake was not worth it at all. Picture of shake on the menu shows it being served in a styrofoam cup (which would help keep it cold). Our shake was served in a regular soda cup so it was basically a cup of 1/2 melted soft serve ice cream with two tablespoons of crushed oreo mint cookie on top. Trying the spice levels is a fun novelty but the flavors itself was nothing id stand in a line for. Compared to Houston hot chicken, Dave's lacked flavor & seasoning. Most of the flavor comes from the sauce itself but the actual chicken is bland. Even with the spice, you just get heat spice. This location is awesome and made all my food fresh even close to close. So refreshing compared to most places that give you lukewarm food and ancient fries. Their new menu items are very good! I got the cauliflower steak slice and then sauced tender flight both were exceptional. I went for the new spicy cheese sticks but they were sold out and the staff said they are selling out very quickly and suggested to call ahead to check if they're available. My experience with chicken is akin to Cane's, so to get a super colorful plate of chicken had me worried, but it delivered high on flavor and juiciness. It came out piping hot.
