We came here because tik tok told us to. We just had to see what the hype was about. The chicken was handsomely seasoned and flavored. Though we didn't get the meal we actually ordered we weren't disappointed because it was just that good. I rarely eat fast food but I would definitely come back to Dave's when I need a quick meal in a pinch. Drive through was easy to get through and the artwork on the exterior is remarkable.

The Spiciest level - Reaper 1 slider and 1 tender

We couldn't leave Dorchester without trying Dave's Hot Chicken. As first-time visitors, my partner and I decided to go all in and order the spiciest option the Reaper so we could determine our preferred heat level for future visits. I have to say, it was easily one of the spiciest meals we've ever had. The cashier even had us sign a waiver for legal purposes, which added to the experience. Despite the intense heat, the chicken was flavorful and well-balanced, not just spicy for the sake of it. The restaurant's airbrushed graffiti-style design created a cool, energetic vibe that made the visit even more enjoyable. We will definitely be back again.

Came here again on my way home from making a work trip out to little Compton and the employees here are always super friendly and just amazing! I felt bad for the staff because they had a whole baseball team show up in a bus and I hope they called ahead to give the employees a heads up lol. We all come for the amazing and delicious chicken and the chill vibes and incredible hospitality is just a plus! I always tell people to go there and eat because they won't be disappointed or they won't leave hungry!

    40 Chicken Bites

Dave's Hot Chicken is probably the island's best fast food restaurant. We came here for dinner after I left my day job for the last time. It was late, and we didn't know if it was going to be open. To my surprise, it was. Most places outside of downtown Newport seem to close pretty early. These guys have the spot where Plant City used to be. When we walked inside, it was pretty spacious, and there were a couple of customers. High ceilings, so it's kind of echo-ey inside. I'm a big eater, so when I saw the menu full of things like 2 chicken tenders and the like, I was a bit worried. Turns out, I needn't be. My friend ordered 2 chicken tenders, and they must've came off the largest chickens in existence. I ordered the 40 chicken bites, which must've been hilarious to some people back there, since it's under the "Feed a Crowd" section of their menu. Anyway, I think they make the food to order, because it took several minutes before our order was ready. It wasn't a long time. And honestly, I got impressed by that. You don't find a lot of fast food places that are making the food to order. Second thing that I found impressive... they serve their chicken on top of toasted bread. Why do I find that impressive? Because the toast absorbs extra moisture, and because toast is mostly air, it provides a layer of heat insulation. 40 bites. At the end of the last chicken bite, the chicken was still hot. It's a beautiful and genius move. I got mine with the medium hot sauce. It's not burning hot, but it still builds up pretty well over the course of 40 pieces, and honestly, I like tasting my food underneath the heat anyway. This is currently my favorite fast food spot on the island. My only regret is that they don't have a location close to where I live.

When I checked out their Rhode Island location, I had the intention of doing what I do best---sampling beverages. I heard they have new top loaded shakes and burstin' slushers, but I was told that I had to try the hot chicken too. Well duh, that's what they're known for. So here's the thing about me. I love anything sweet, and the mango slusher with strawberry popping boba and the Oreo top loaded shake def met that need. I am however not a spicy girly. Anything more than mid BBQ is too much for me. However, I reallllly loved Dave's Hot Chicken! Their chicken slider is perfectly balanced with slaw and when eaten with some fries, left me as one happy girly. This all paired with a sweet bevvy, well it's perfect. You gotta get to Dave's. This location is bright and inviting and the staff is very sweet and helpful. I had a great experience. I might have gone for their cool beverages, but man did I stay for that chicken. Now I understand the hype and why they're popping up everywhere.

Came for one thing, and that was the Fallout collab as seen in social media! Unfortunately they were sold out. Plenty of parking and very hard to miss building. Artwork was interesting and caught my eye. It even continued inside and the menu is clear~ staff was friendly and explained our options, and answered all my chicken questions~ the saucy bites can't be mixed in flavors, which was my question. Got some Hot Honey flavor and it was crunch, savory, and filled with meat! My favorite! My partner got the number 3, that included a sandwich, and one tender with fries. I ate the tender, and glad I didn't order the tenders meal. Although meaty and flavorful, it was a tad too dry and definitely needed the sauce addition to give it some moisture back! It was on the salty side~ the fries were good, and crunchy. My highlight was the saucy bites because it does have a good amount! Would I reach for this? This place is far for me, but I do see myself coming here for the urge or some saucy bites every once in a while~ or in the area and prefer a meal versus some fancy Newport restaurants around.

I've been wanting to try this place since they announced they were opening. My first Nashville Hot experience being in Nashville has tainted me on every version I've had since, so I wasn't coming in with high hopes. The place is brightly colored inside and out, so no fear of missing it. The people working there were very helpful and nice. I read a couple of reviews here critiquing the service, but this was not the case for me. I got a hot and extra hot sandwich to test the waters, particularly after learning their reaper option required a waiver. I have a pretty good heat tolerance, but figured I'd play it safe. Spoiler alert, I could have done the reaper and will try it next time. The chicken was cooked well, the fries were nice and seasoned and they came out pretty quickly. One of the workers there recommended trying some honey on the chicken and the balance of sweet and heat worked really well. I'll definitely try them again. While the establishments in Nashville don't have much to worry about, this was as good a Nashville hot as I've had in southern New England so far.

Yeah, ok... it's not Gus's Nashville Hot... Breading a bit heavy and dense, chicken was succulent and juicy as any brined chicken would be but very salty... fries were ok crinkle cut... dave sauce, tasty but turned my stomach a little (high fructose corn syrup, caramel color and soybean oil --I generally try to stay away from) ... it's not something I'm going to go out of my way to get... 3 stars

I've heard about the hype on. place when I was in Hawaii. Finally got to try it and the wait did not disappoint. I got the number 3 combo that comes with a sandwich and a slider. The heat level was good. Some places will claim spicy but fail to deliver. I can handle spicy, I ate the hot with no issues but the extra spicy had me sweating. Chicken is seasoned well, food is cooked when you order, so there a bit of a wait but you're getting a fresh product. Inside is clean and spacious. Order a slushy to tame that heat. I'll be back to try their hottest level the reaper.

The juiciest tender within 3 counties!

Ok, first timer here and it did NOT disappoint. I wasn't expecting the tenders to have a dry seasoning on them, opposed to the regularly sauced tenders I'm used to. The rub was very good, and kept you going back for another bite. The price is a bit high, but the portion size really makes up for that. As a portly guy who enjoys a self deprecating large portion, the two tenders and fries were more than enough. I had half a tender and enough fries left over to enjoy later. The fries are crinkle cut that are crisp, hot and lovingly sprinkled with the same seasoning as the tenders. Give this place a shot even if you don't enjoy spice. They have options for no spice all the way up to reaper. I'll be back for sure!

Stopped here for a late lunch-- been very curious to try this chicken! It did not disappoint. The guy at the counter (guessing a manager) was patient and helpful since it was our first visit. Hubs and I shared a meal, got medium heat on the tenders-- great heat level for us and nice size! Pickles are nice, fries are decent. I'd definitely drop in again!

Solid chicken sandwich, not a ton of options, kind of big space with VERY SLIPPERY FLOORS and graffiti-style decor for (seemingly) buttoned-up, old-money Newport? I will say the value ain't bad - the "sliders" are large chicken tenders on a hamburger bun. Medium spice level equates (to me) like other fast food places "spicy chicken" sandwiches, so if you're expecting actual HOT chicken, go hot on up. Fries were fine, I like crinkle cut but I know I'm the minority. Mac & cheese was also fine - grabbed it as a fallback for my 5 year old and he liked it a lot. It was creamy, not aggressively flavored. Pickles were good. Sauce was good. Wish there was more of the kale slaw, it seemed to be the only thing that makes Dave's standout? Totally fine - not amazing, not awful.

Had to make a quick stop throughout our travels to enjoy Dave's! The drive alone is gorgeous with the sparkling waters, rolling waves, warm sand bars, screaming gulls...we ordered a #4 solder with fries and a lemonade. The street art is gorgeous, hometown nod to the US Navy and windmills and farming industry makes this haunt a must for dine-in! Music is targeted for my age group, VH1 specials - we ate every bite! Service was a bit slow taking 25 minutes to make 1 meal :(

The inside has a lot of character. When I came in there was no one making the front. We ordered online and the order was ready when I pulled into this location. It took someone about 5 minutes to even show, and they immediately started ringing up people in the order line rather than address those waiting to pick up. Another 2 minutes later. Someone else shows up, fetches the bag behind the counter with minimal interaction. The chicken was still warm, but was overcooked. The reaper ranch was light on the ranch and was hot but lacking any real flavor other than the burn. The daves sauce was overly sweet, and the French fries topped with Mac and cheese were good but really lacking in toppings. It was like a tablespoon of Mac n cheese to a handful of fries and two chicken nuggets on top. At the price we paid, the quality does not justify the price point. It's expensive small chicken tenders with lacking sauce and indifferent staff. When your menu is limited, you need to execute properly and this location is not executing. Not sure if it's true across the brand, but there's many chicken tender spots to try and this one missed the mark

I walked into a bright, clean, and energetic restaurant with a fast-paced atmosphere that reflects how popular the chain has become. Even with a line forming at the counter, the staff kept things moving efficiently, and the operation felt well organized considering the volume of customers coming through the door. I went with one of the tender combos, which is really the reason most people come here in the first place. The chicken tenders were juicy, freshly cooked, and had a crispy coating that held up well without feeling overly heavy. The coating had a good crunch that stayed intact through the meal, and the chicken itself was moist and tender throughout. The real standout, though, is the Cane's Sauce. It adds a tangy, peppery flavor that works perfectly with the chicken and honestly ties the entire meal together. Between the tenders, crinkle-cut fries, and Texas toast, it is a simple meal, but one that is executed consistently well. The toast is buttery and soft, and the fries are solid enough to hold their own alongside the main event. One thing I have noticed is that the chicken can occasionally feel a little greasy depending on the visit, especially if you are ordering a larger combo. For some people that may not be an issue at all, while others might find it sits a bit heavy afterward. That has varied from visit to visit, but it is worth mentioning because the meal is definitely on the richer side compared to some other fast food chicken options. The coleslaw provides a lighter contrast, though it is a fairly standard version of the side and does not stand out the way the chicken and sauce do. The staff during my visit were friendly and efficient, and the restaurant was well maintained. Food came out quickly, and despite the limited menu, there is something refreshing about a place that focuses on doing one thing rather than trying to offer dozens of different options. The simplicity of the menu makes the decision process easy, and the consistency of the meal across visits is a big part of the appeal. Raising Cane's delivers a satisfying chicken tender meal with quality chicken, a great signature sauce, and consistently solid sides. It may not be the lightest meal around, but when you are in the mood for crispy chicken tenders and a straightforward comfort-food combo, it is easy to see why so many people keep coming back. The two young women who served me at the counter were perfect examples of what customer service is supposed to be. They were friendly, efficient, knowledgeable about their products, and patiently helpful while I was trying to decide which of the two sauces I wanted. Thank you both! The dining and ordering areas were spotlessly clean and well lit. It would be the perfect place for a family to come and have a healthy meal as a treat on a weekend afternoon. I wish that Raising Cane's had been around when I was little. :-) One word of warning however, Raising Cane's only entree is chicken fingers so if you don't like chicken this might not be for you. That does however emphasize how good those chicken fingers are if they don't have to offer any other meal. :-)

BEACH WEEK - Day Seven - Homeward Bound K…read moreBefore i.go,.I gotta give a quick shout-out to Daisy's Chicken and Ice Cream on Point Judith Road in Narragansett. This place is owned and operated (very well).by two lifelong friends and mere 21-year-old younglings, Adam and Donny. It's in a tuff spot; numbers of others have passed thru various tenancies with different ideas of how to accompany the farmstand creamie type ice cream business, but these two have somehow found the balance (imho). That balance includes not just the precisely focused menu and their astute assessment of a real need waiting to be filled; it also reflects the research, planning, work and personalities that are going to bring success. Adam and Donny have clearly done a lot of homework, not just with the business side, but culinary-wise. One does not just open a restaurant and hope for the best- especially with "real' (meaning, raw, scratch-prepared) product- even ice cream handling is scientific, and the scooping of it is a very precise maneuver with specific technics absolutely necessary. Whether Daisy's will establish a brand and grow, franchise, diversify, or just continue along as an exemplary demonstration of business acumen and personality profile to keep these kids happy just as it is, they have at least one customer who will keep coming back not just for the "Winter Blast" ice cream and the perfectly prepared chicken breasts not frozen patties), but out of a very strong fascination for observing and following whatever these two do into the future. If you know me- I am very judgemental of food service and Hospitality establishments, and I can be really critical. This place has me excited to stay with them!

I couldn't pass up the opportunity to try while passing through the area and boy it didn't disappoint!! Service was amazing, took order and it was a bit cold out so he said will bring it out to your car if desired. So while the game changer was being crafted I jammed to some tunes in the warm car. The sandwich was amazing, perfect combo of Daisy's Chicken deliciousness with a kick of Jayd Bun's spicy sauce with some slaw. Looking over the menu there were a few items that I can't wait to come back to try. From specials like burnt in sausage, tenders, chicken and waffles, chipotle BLT, wings, heck they even have a vegan burger. Always enjoy a good root beer float so couldn't pass up that sweet treat after devouring that collaboration of greatness! Awesome selection of Warwick Ice Cream to choose from, it is always great to see local supporting local and highly recommend everyone give Daisy's a shot! Looking forward to next visit!
