I've eaten I've eaten at Dave's hot chicken before and I can definitely say I do appreciate it. Their food is really really good. Their tenders are pretty solid. They have a great crunch too. Hands-down, my favorite chicken spot ever. They recently came out with their new mozzarella sticks, and they are amazing. One of the best cheese pulls I've ever had. The service was extremely slow, it took 21 minutes just to get a #1 and a #2, with no customizations at all. It was a very simple order, so the wait time felt unreasonable. While I was waiting, another customer actually got tired of waiting and walked out, which says a lot about how slow things were moving. Very solid food, I dare say you will enjoy bite from the chicken to the fries to the bread. Their menu may look simple but there are many levels of heat and flavors to pick from! Went here a couple times and they never disappoint. Their Dave's Sauce is pretty good to pair with their fries and chicken (honey is also available for the hotter heats, would recommen), but honestly the chicken n fries alone are solid without them (you won't feel the need to heavily dunk your food in the Dave's Sauce to taste the flavor, there's plenty of it). The bread (I believe it's not toasted) is more of a flavor sponge if ever, it's okay in my book. The service, the staff is cool, there are times where they won't attend to the customers right away as well the food takes a bit longer to get(but still acknowledge you are there) but it's a trade-off for how great the food came out. The dining area is fairly small so could get packed over the weekends , but for a night snack shouldn't be an issue. Also, don't feel off by the two tenders, their tenders are BIG (I'd say it's 2 1/2~ the size of a regular tender you'd normally get from other popular fast food chains). read more

Dave's is not new to me..... been going to the LA location for a while. Ordered from the new SFS location and glad that things seem to be the same. Sliders were good, Mac and cheese was good and no real complaints. The only thing I didn't like was the crazy price for a packet of their "secret sauce ." Places like in and out give you similar packets of spread at no cost. I'd rather skip this "extra" as the prices are high enough and the packet isn't worth the extra cost. read more

We ordered Dave's Hot Chicken through DoorDash from this location today, and it was by far the worst experience we've ever had with them. I've never felt the need to leave a negative review before, but this was extremely disappointing. The chicken tasted old and was very chewy, nothing like what we've come to expect. The fries also seemed like they had been sitting out for a while and were just thrown back into the fryer to reheat--they were not fresh at all. Better than Raising Canes? Maybe. Depends on how much you like spice. Did I enjoy it? Sure. Will I drive out of my way to go get it? Probably not. There are a lot of things to like. I had the #3 combo that comes with a slider a tender and fries. The sliders are larger than what most people consider a slider and the tenders are larger than what most people consider a tender. The sliders come with pickles, slaw and a sauce that is similar to Canes sauce, but a bit sweeter. You also get to choose a heat level. I went with "hot" and felt it was perfect. It had a nice kick and wasn't so hot that I couldn't taste anything. The combos come with a nice addition of quality sliced pickles as well. On the negative side, we waited 30 minutes for our food. It wasn't anybody's fault who worked there. The person who took my order was friendly and helpful. Everyone I saw was working hard. It's just that on a Saturday night with a full board of take out orders, a full dining room and a drive-thru, you need more staff. I also need to add that this is a new location, so they may need to find their groove. Will I be back? Possibly. If I was close by or someone wanted to go I wouldn't object. Should you go? Sure, if you like Canes and wished it was spicier, you should check it out, but maybe give this location a bit of time to work out the kinks. read more

With the rush and the frustration, I forgot that we had order a drink which they also did not give us . I called the restaurant and the manager answer. I asked him for his name which he refused to give me. He said he would give me at the end of the conversation.. Nathan, who was the manager that I spoke to said that to get a refund I would have to drive back 20 minutes after I had just waited 20 additional minutes for my food to get a refund for the item they forgot . In n out can be off their game and that line is too long at In N Out. Its always chill here and the staff is super nice and explains the menu to you if youre not familiar. I ordered the 1 piece and 1 slider meal with medium spice on the slider and no spice on the piece. Honestly, the only redeeming part of this meal was the fries--they were hot, crispy, and well-seasoned. Everything else was a letdown. The chicken lacked flavor, even the "medium" spiced slider. It was bland and uninspired, which is surprising for a place that supposedly specializes in bold, spicy chicken. The sauce was honestly gross--it tasted like plain mayonnaise with a strange aftertaste I couldn't quite place. Definitely not something I'd want to dip anything in. The random slice of white bread under the chicken felt like an afterthought--like they grabbed it straight out of a grocery store bag and tossed it in the box. It didn't add anything to the meal. To top it all off, the drink selection was underwhelming. A fresh-squeezed lemonade or even a decent iced tea might've made things more enjoyable, but even that was missing. I had high hopes for Dave's Hot Chicken, but this visit was a big miss. It's rare for me to be this disappointed by a meal--especially one that's supposed to be simple and satisfying like chicken tenders and sliders. Went through the drive-through and ordered a chicken sandwich combo plain with no spice and not hot. No one ever repeated my order, but I confirmed multiple times that it was plain with no seasoning i drove home 15 minutes to come to find out that it was definitely not plain. I called the store back to get a refund and was told that I had to come all the way back to the store for them to issue a refund I then proceeded to that location where a manager Illiana Issued me a refund as I got back to my car I double checked everything and come to find out she only refund me for the sandwich not the whole meal that I had just returned. I went back into the store and told her of this mistake. she told me that because I only complained about the chicken sandwich on the phone that that's the only thing that she would refund me for. I told her so you gladly took my whole order back but only issued me a refund for the sandwich she repeated herself again and said yes because you only complained about the chicken sandwich and I asked her in what way is this customer service. I placed an order in your place and your location ruined it And I had to come all the way back to return it and you're only gonna give me a partial refund. I would never come back to this location and would hope people see the incompetent manager who cannot run a location correctly nor should ever be management as anyone knows that you should show empathy and apologize and take care of the customer which she never did.
