I visited this location to eat after Sunday afternoon church as their Buena Park location is currently closed. I ordered a sliced beef brisket sandwich and made it a combo which meant a side and a fountain drink. I chose French Fries for the side. Food quality was satisfactory. Not excellent, not bad but certainly satisfactory. I was disappointed that Pepsi was not available as a drink choice. There was a single all gender washroom that was not totally immaculate and there was graffiti on the inside of the washroom. However I was glad that paper towels were available. I have a bone to pick with the general appearance of the employees at this establishment. I noticed that the employees failed to tuck their shirts in. I consider that to be highly unprofessional. For that reason I am dinging this establishment one point. If I was to assign a letter grade as is done in school this establishment would be in there solid with a C. read more

Our family has a long tradition of eating BBQ for New Year's Eve dinner. We've ordered Dickey's before and they are well worth the price. A good selection of items and very generous portions. I got a 3 meat plate only $20, chicken sausage and brisket($2 up charge). The food is good for the price but I wish it was hot, it's room tempt which I don't like. BBQ was fantastic. I got the 3 meat plate with a double portion of sliced brisket and Polish kielbasa. My sides were baked beans and loaded mashed potato with gravy. Specifically for their catering, we really like Dickey's for my extended family gatherings. They're on time, include SO much delicious food (standouts are the sausage, brisket and beans), and for the amount of people it's way enough food for a meal plus leftovers. Only reason it's not a 5 is they we do have some vegetarians/pescatarians and for the catering we are limited. They do appreciate the baked potatoes! But like even the green beans and mashed potatoes have bacon in them. It would be nice to have the option to order without! read more

This is my first visit to this dickies location. Unfortunately, the dickies close to me in Lakewood closed. The other close one in bellflower also closed! We received a gift card. We had to go to Whittier. The place has real authentic bbq joint vibes. Rustic with lots of barnwood vibes. The service was quick, friendly and professional. We got a pound of brisket to go. This our first time here. We came at almost closing ( 840pm) but the employee was really nice to accomodate and still help us with the food. We ordered a combo 2 for $29 ( only online) n got it to go since they almost close. The food came out hot and portion is generous, they gave a lot of meat and sides r delish. For a bbq chain this is really good quality. Fries r crispy n well seasoned, mac cheese was good, bbq sauce was delishhh. The toast was soft but crunchy at the same time, very buttery. I went to this Dickey's Barbecue Pit for the first time tonight and it was really good. I had the Brisket Sandwich Combo with Fries. The Brisket was Tender and Delicious. I chose the Sweet Barbecue Sauce and it is one of the best Barbecue Sauces that I've ever tasted. Perfect for people who don't want something that's too spicy hot. We put in an order for Thanksgiving 2025. We ordered 4 slabs of ribs and 4 lbs of brisket. The ribs were okay, but the brisket was BURNED and DRY. Some people tried eating as they said they didn't want to offend us, but I said, "we're not offended, we didn't make it!" They laughed, said thank you and threwin the trash from their plate. Today Dickeys came to my workplace to provide lunch. This is the 2nd time I patronized them ( not sure which location it actually was but this one is closest). They NEVER have what you want. Today, they don't have chips. The potatoes are pre-pepped so they don't have any extra butter to serve or sell. She tried to charge me full price knowing we get $5 off. I would have preferred to go to McDonald's for fries to eat with my lunch. It's unfortunate that the owner or operations team is NOT customer driven or they would REPAIR their broken system. I've tried this location multiple times, and overall, their brisket is delicious--juicy and flavorful most of the time, though it was a bit dry on a couple of occasions. They do have some inconsistency with the smoked turkey, which isn't ideal when it's listed on the menu but not always available. Portion sizes are generous--easily enough for two or even three people. Most of the staff are friendly and helpful, and the restroom was clean and well-maintained. That said, it could benefit from some modern upgrades like touchless faucets and soap dispensers. Parking is plentiful, which is a big plus. read more

I'm surprised that this place specializes in brisket but does not have a basic brisket sandwich on the menu. They do have a brisket grilled cheese but that wasn't what we were going for. I even asked if we could get the brisket grilled cheese without the cheese, but apparently they don't do that.... Make it make sense... Why do you care if I have the cheese on it or not. I don't understand how you have brisket tacos, brisket quesadilla but don't have a basic brisket sandwich? Seems odd. In the end it didn't really matter because the brisket was terrible anyways. It was definitely not fresh (a dead giveaway was it was about 50% cold and 50% lightly warmed) pretty good indication that it came out of the refrigerator. It was also very dry and when I say "fell apart" it was more like crumbled apart. The one positive though was the mac & cheese! It was out of this world delicious, over the top amazing probably the best mac & cheese I've ever had. It was piping hot and cooked perfectly! I feel like it must've been a very off night for this restaurant, based on the majority of their reviews, I had very high expectations that it would be amazing. I was kind of bummed that it fell very short of amazing.

Added a little salt and pepper thinking that will help. NOPE! Each bite was tough and loaded with gristle or inedible fat or something that I couldn't separate with my teeth. I'm pulling pieces apart and having to eat around the tough meat. I took the sandwich up to the register and asked them if they changed the cut of meat they use. They said no, it's always been either rib eye or NY. Every single one of the many I'd had before were the same. This one was different. Even looked different, as if it had been run through a machine in an attempt to tenderize it. Didn't work! You could see through some parts kind of like the way a knitted scarf would look If you stretched it out and could see the holes in it. Anyway, the guy said, "You must have got a tough cut" or "bad cut". I can't remember exactly the wording. But then he just shrugged me off. No offer to fix the problem. I was hungry, I hadn't had breakfast, and it was obvious the guy didnt care, so I just went back to my table and ate the rest of the bread and fixings while gnawing off any edible meat from my horrible steak. $26 for a sandwich and fries. Not willing to spend that much and hope I get a good cut of meat. I'm done.
