    Chicken Kimchi Butter Katsu Chicken

The chicken katsu was really good and had great flavoring. I loved the sauce that they had on top of it. It was a little different than other Hawaiian bbq spots but def worth trying!! Love me a good Mac salad and the spam musubi had their own little twist on it as well but tasted really good

Ube beignets r a must The combo shrimp n chix katsu with mac is tasty. My faave is the shrimp. I got spicy n def had a good kick to it. Chicken Sando was just as delicious. Strawberry pineapple refresher had the right amount of sweetness it was definitely refreshing. Parking is plentiful in this food hall and even though they are busy, it doesn't take very long for the food to come out

Located in the Rodeo 72 food hall, I actually almost overlooked this stall as I saw their sign and read it as "shotz" while also seeing their colorful beverage dispensers so I initially thought they only served drinks. I was glad to be mistaken though! We decided to order their Family Meal Butter Kimchi Katsu Chicken ($46.99 + tax) which came with a generous portion of their crispy chicken drizzled with their original butter kimchi sauce, heaping servings of rice, yummy mac salad and beautifully wrapped spam musubis topped with green onions and furikake. Their butter kimchi sauce is definitely where it's at! While I really enjoyed the food, I think what sets Shootz apart is their amazing and friendly service! The gentleman at the counter was so helpful and nice and really made sure we had a great experience. If you find yourself at Rodeo 72 and are having a hard time deciding what to eat, I definitely recommend giving Shootz a try! There's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating at the food hall, and we also didn't have any issues with parking.

Where do I start?!!! Everything is HEAVENLY!! Kimchi butter has umamai perfectly salted not so heavy but so good!! Mac salad hit the mark as well!! Spam musubi had so many textures due to the way they crem brûlée the top highly recommend my favorite item here is the kimchi butter shrimp! They stay crispy even after being tossed in the sauce! Service is always fast and friendly they are located inside of rodeo 72 food hall definitely give them a try if you're in Whittier they have indoor and outdoor seating as well

I'm always drawn to Hawaiian food because I mean, it's delicious, right?! I always have to go Kimchi butter shrimp, hands down! A great snacker is their spam brulee musubi. Their macaroni salad is good but not my favorite from the menu. If you want to go down the sandwich route away from the rice, the hot kimchi butter chicken katsu sandwich is a mouthful, full of flavor. Can you guess the theme around their food? Yes, kimchi butter and like I said, it's full of yummylicious flavor!

Amazing amazing kimchi butter and chicken katsu. I got the plate w shrimp also so I could try that too but the chicken stole the show!! Def bringing people back here to try out their chicken! Also amazing presentation

Omg I didn't know what I was missing until I tried this place just by chance. Their chicken katsu/shrimp comes drenched in the most rich kimchi butter flavor. SOOOO delicious!!! Want to warn you though, it is SUPER rich though and pretty spicy! Their Mac salad is also really good and contained visible chunks of tuna. MUST TRY THIS PLACE IT IS SO GOOD!!!

This place has a cool pineapple. So let's see if they're pretty good eh or ew. I got their wavy number 2 bundle which comes with 2 of their sandos, 2 musubis, and a drink. I got their strawberry pineapple lemonade which was perfectly sweet, fruity, and refreshing. The musubi was pretty average and good. The musubi was pretty average and good with a thin layer of savory spam and plenty of rice with a bit of sweetness to it. The katsu sando was smaller than expected but had a savory crispity crunchy cutlet with like a sweet honey butter glaze?, creamy mac salad, and soft sweet hawaiian roll like bun. Overall this place is lowkey pretty good. Combo 2 $22.69

Really enjoyed this spot! It's located inside a food hall, and everything we ordered was delicious. We got the chicken plate with rice and mac salad, along with the shrimp, and it was all so tasty. Whatever sauce they use on the chicken, shrimp, and rice is amazing and really brings out the flavor in everything. The ube beignets were so good and definitely worth trying. On top of the great food, the service was excellent. We arrived pretty close to closing time, but the staff was still incredibly patient, attentive, and friendly. They were helping everyone without rushing customers, which we really appreciated. Overall, a great spot to grab a bite to eat. We'll definitely be back!

A+++ experience, from the service, to the recs and the food / drinks! I drove from West Hollywood to get my lil fix and it was honestly worth every mile. Shootz is located in a Market where you can find some other eats and restaurants. Plenty of parking when I arrived. Courtyard area was filled with high school kids, it seems to be the after school kick it spot. As far as the food... what a burst of flavors! Shout out to David - he truly made me feel at home and was such a welcoming soul. Their spam brûlée musubi is definitely the star of the show, perfect salty kick and it's drizzled with their sweet house made sauce, which gives a great balance of flavors. Now, it wouldn't be a meal without their spicy chicken sandwich - you get to choose from 3 spice levels, I ordered the medium and it was just the right amount of spice for me. Chicken is crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside, and topped with creamy macaroni to seal the deal. They have some house made drinks that I would recommend, their mango green tea is on the sweeter side, but if you would like something a little lighter and refreshing, get their mint peach lemonade.

    And more thoughtful bag branding

Shootz brah! Great Hawaiian spot inside the Rodeo 72 Public Market. The spam musubi is the must try. Then, the chicken sandos. I still don't know what Kimchi Butter is but it tastes good. Check out my pics!

I've been a fan of Shootz for a long time. First tried them when they were at the Cravings At 99 Ranch in Chino. This location at Rodeo 72 market is probably the closest Shootz location for me now. Since it's located in the food hall there's plenty of tables and seating all over the market as well as many outside patio seating. The foot traffic to Shootz was consistent. I had their Spam Brûlée musubi at a Yelp event a week prior. As I was talking to the staff, he mentioned he was a manager and also was present at the event for the Shootz table. The service was great and the manager was super friendly and offered me a drink on the house which was greatly appreciated. I opted to try the Strawberry Pineapple Lemonade Refresher. I ended up ordering the Spicy Katsu Chicken Sando & the 2 piece Spam Brûlée Musubi. I hadn't had their Katsu Sando in a few years so I was happy to try it again. Order was ready in less than 10 minutes. I opened up the boxes and was excited to see how well they put these together. The Katsu Chicken Sando was still as awesome as I remembered. The crispiness and the textures of the mac salad inside is a memorable bite of food. Not to mention their Kimchi butter than gives it all the flavors. The Spam Brûlée never disappoints. The sweet and salty pairing is such a unique combo. The refresher went well with the entire meal. Their food has always left me happy. Just wanted to make sure to show love to the Shootz fam with this review. If you've never had a taste of their Hawaiian inspired and Asian fusion food. Make sure to give it a try! Thanks, Shootz! Tried the spicy katsu chicken sando and it was really good! Didn't realize the macaroni salad was actually in the sandwich, but it works! The best deal is to get two for $17. The other items look pretty good and there are interesting drink flavors: mint peach tea, mango green tea, and one other (I forgot). It's located at Rodeo 72 and there's plenty of seating, indoors or out. We got our food pretty quickly and it wasn't too crowded for a Saturday afternoon. I'd get the sandwich again.

Ordered the kalbi BBQ plate with rice and mac salad, plus an extra mac because I usually like 2 mac + 1 rice. The mac salad was easily a 1/10--basically mayo and noodles with no salt, vinegar, umami, or real flavor. Definitely not how Hawaiian mac salad should taste, and I was even more annoyed that I paid for extra. The kalbi was decent but got way too fatty as I ate. I was happy they topped it with green onions (flavor was good) 7/10. They also didn't have a teriyaki/soy glaze or house brown sauce, which was disappointing. I tried the katsu sauce instead and that was easily a 9/10. Customer service was decent. Overall, not terrible, but not necessarily great either. I wouldn't drive out of my way or necessarily recommend it.

We made a special trip to Ono's because my son loves spam and rice. We ordered the spam & egg plate and requested to remove the egg and have a couple extra slices of spam instead. This has never before been a problem, as the staff had happily made this accommodation, since my son doesn't like eggs of any kind. It doesn't even say "no substitutions" anywhere on the menu. This time, however, the manager, Robert, said he could only remove the egg, but would not give us even one slice of spam extra, and that it would be full price. Mind you, this is a $15 plate, so he was saying we could have two (2) slices of Spam and some rice for $15. This had never been the case before, and I pointed that out. He wouldn't budge, and insisted I pay full price. In short, we walked out and went to the local L&L Hawaiian BBQ, which had the same exact portion size, substituted the egg without question for a total of five (5) slices of spam, and cost much less on top of it. In looking over other prices, Ono's is usually more expensive in every choice than L&L, so we'll just go to the Hawaii-originated L&L
