Located in the Rodeo 72 food hall, I actually almost overlooked this stall as I saw their sign and read it as "shotz" while also seeing their colorful beverage dispensers so I initially thought they only served drinks. I was glad to be mistaken though! We decided to order their Family Meal Butter Kimchi Katsu Chicken ($46.99 + tax) which came with a generous portion of their crispy chicken drizzled with their original butter kimchi sauce, heaping servings of rice, yummy mac salad and beautifully wrapped spam musubis topped with green onions and furikake. Their butter kimchi sauce is definitely where it's at! While I really enjoyed the food, I think what sets Shootz apart is their amazing and friendly service! The gentleman at the counter was so helpful and nice and really made sure we had a great experience. If you find yourself at Rodeo 72 and are having a hard time deciding what to eat, I definitely recommend giving Shootz a try! There's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating at the food hall, and we also didn't have any issues with parking.

I'm always drawn to Hawaiian food because I mean, it's delicious, right?! I always have to go Kimchi butter shrimp, hands down! A great snacker is their spam brulee musubi. Their macaroni salad is good but not my favorite from the menu. If you want to go down the sandwich route away from the rice, the hot kimchi butter chicken katsu sandwich is a mouthful, full of flavor. Can you guess the theme around their food? Yes, kimchi butter and like I said, it's full of yummylicious flavor!

Spicy Kimchi Butter Katsu and shrimp! Comes with Mac salad and rice. VERY RICH. VERY DELICIOUS! Spicy too!

Omg I didn't know what I was missing until I tried this place just by chance. Their chicken katsu/shrimp comes drenched in the most rich kimchi butter flavor. SOOOO delicious!!! Want to warn you though, it is SUPER rich though and pretty spicy! Their Mac salad is also really good and contained visible chunks of tuna. MUST TRY THIS PLACE IT IS SO GOOD!!!

This place has a cool pineapple. So let's see if they're pretty good eh or ew. I got their wavy number 2 bundle which comes with 2 of their sandos, 2 musubis, and a drink. I got their strawberry pineapple lemonade which was perfectly sweet, fruity, and refreshing. The musubi was pretty average and good. The musubi was pretty average and good with a thin layer of savory spam and plenty of rice with a bit of sweetness to it. The katsu sando was smaller than expected but had a savory crispity crunchy cutlet with like a sweet honey butter glaze?, creamy mac salad, and soft sweet hawaiian roll like bun. Overall this place is lowkey pretty good. Combo 2 $22.69

Redeemed!!! Matthew was my cashier, great job took my order with a smile, entered my phone number correctly and I got a text when it was ready, very friendly and fast service. Beautiful day out and a band in the courtyard. One year anniversary! $5 oh! So good I will definitely pay full price anytime, kimchi butter was delicious.

A+++ experience, from the service, to the recs and the food / drinks! I drove from West Hollywood to get my lil fix and it was honestly worth every mile. Shootz is located in a Market where you can find some other eats and restaurants. Plenty of parking when I arrived. Courtyard area was filled with high school kids, it seems to be the after school kick it spot. As far as the food... what a burst of flavors! Shout out to David - he truly made me feel at home and was such a welcoming soul. Their spam brûlée musubi is definitely the star of the show, perfect salty kick and it's drizzled with their sweet house made sauce, which gives a great balance of flavors. Now, it wouldn't be a meal without their spicy chicken sandwich - you get to choose from 3 spice levels, I ordered the medium and it was just the right amount of spice for me. Chicken is crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside, and topped with creamy macaroni to seal the deal. They have some house made drinks that I would recommend, their mango green tea is on the sweeter side, but if you would like something a little lighter and refreshing, get their mint peach lemonade.

Finally made it out to Shootz there in Whittier, the food hall Rodeo 72.... Oh so worth it but now I'm frustrated with myself for not going sooner! Just enjoyed my second visit this week and the food and service is amazing. The food hall is nice so there's plenty of tables to sit and enjoy your food. Of course there's other great spots to choose from but Shootz has my heart, and definitely my stomach! wrapped around their concept. The flavors have a wow factor to them that you don't get sick of. Their kimchi butter that they're famous for is all the hype and more. I prefer their spicy option but the regular is good as well. The spice level isn't over the top but if you're a mild to non spicy person I would stick with the regular. Their mac salad is good but I'm a sucker for rice and I love that they have furikake as a topper over the rice, under the chicken and shrimp. Oh that's right, get the number 4! You won't be disappointed. Brandon helped me out the first time, then Mathew when I came back with my parents. Service over all isn't just basic countertop service. Very nice and helpful with questions when we had them. Thank you so much for great service no matter how short the visit! And the onolicios food! Can't wait to come back!

Shootz brah! Great Hawaiian spot inside the Rodeo 72 Public Market. The spam musubi is the must try. Then, the chicken sandos. I still don't know what Kimchi Butter is but it tastes good. Check out my pics!

I've been a fan of Shootz for a long time. First tried them when they were at the Cravings At 99 Ranch in Chino. This location at Rodeo 72 market is probably the closest Shootz location for me now. Since it's located in the food hall there's plenty of tables and seating all over the market as well as many outside patio seating. The foot traffic to Shootz was consistent. I had their Spam Brûlée musubi at a Yelp event a week prior. As I was talking to the staff, he mentioned he was a manager and also was present at the event for the Shootz table. The service was great and the manager was super friendly and offered me a drink on the house which was greatly appreciated. I opted to try the Strawberry Pineapple Lemonade Refresher. I ended up ordering the Spicy Katsu Chicken Sando & the 2 piece Spam Brûlée Musubi. I hadn't had their Katsu Sando in a few years so I was happy to try it again. Order was ready in less than 10 minutes. I opened up the boxes and was excited to see how well they put these together. The Katsu Chicken Sando was still as awesome as I remembered. The crispiness and the textures of the mac salad inside is a memorable bite of food. Not to mention their Kimchi butter than gives it all the flavors. The Spam Brûlée never disappoints. The sweet and salty pairing is such a unique combo. The refresher went well with the entire meal. Their food has always left me happy. Just wanted to make sure to show love to the Shootz fam with this review. If you've never had a taste of their Hawaiian inspired and Asian fusion food. Make sure to give it a try! Thanks, Shootz! Tried the spicy katsu chicken sando and it was really good! Didn't realize the macaroni salad was actually in the sandwich, but it works! The best deal is to get two for $17. The other items look pretty good and there are interesting drink flavors: mint peach tea, mango green tea, and one other (I forgot). It's located at Rodeo 72 and there's plenty of seating, indoors or out. We got our food pretty quickly and it wasn't too crowded for a Saturday afternoon. I'd get the sandwich again.

First off. I've been a big fan of them for a very long time. Since the first location opened up in Long Beach. I found this location from a yelp event, and I had to come. The location that it's in is a food hall. Competition is thick with food everywhere but Shootz never disappoints. The vibes, the community, and not to mention Shootz! We got two of the chicken Katsu sandwiches and a garlic shrimp plate. The Service was very good as they gave us time to look at the menu and educated us on what we might like. Every time I eat this food, I always think how so many people have not tried it and if only I could get more people to go there and taste it. Everything always tastes amazing. If you haven't tried Shootz you are absolutely missing out on a good comfort food experience. Not to mention this is one of the better locations with a sports bar attached to the food hall if you want to catch a game and eat.

Mission Statement: Comfort food, made from the soul. Shootz combines classic Asian-Inspired dishes and the ever-evolving and expanding culture of California. Our menu provides traditional flavors of the comfort food you grew to love as well as new combinations of flavors you never knew you needed in items such as our popular Kimchi Butter Chicken Katsu and our Spam Brûlée Musubi. With a focus on quality, flavor, and exceptional service, our team aims to provide an extraordinary experience every time. Background On Visit: Haven't explored Whittier much. So one day last week, I decided to explore Rodeo 72. Restrooms: They're available. Just use the public restroom inside rodeo 72. Credit Cards: They're accepted. Most importantly, there's no surcharge to use them Location/Parking: Located inside Rodeo 72. Parking can be found in the shared lot. Ambiance/Decor: No ambiance. It's a food stall and furnishings to sit and eat on are provided by the food hall. Service: Service was good. Misael was friendly, offered great suggestions, and quite informational about the shop. Food didn't take long to come out. Food Of Choice: 1) Decided on the #2 combo that came with 2 kimchi butter katsu chicken sandwiches, 2 spam brulee masubi's, and a can soda. I really enjoyed eating the katsu chicken sandwich. It was soo good. Loved how the katsu chicken wasn't heavily fried, kimchi butter was quite taste and was happy to see mac salad in the sandwich. The brulee masubi was amazing and quite flavorful. Shootz For Thought: Wouldn't mind coming back and ordering the #2 again. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm! :)

My wife was the one who actually reminded me of this place we were debating what to have for lunch & after seeing all the buzz online we decided to grab some. First, if you've never been, it's a small spot with only a few tables. It's really more of a grab-your-food-and-go type of place than somewhere you'd plan to sit down and dine. I ordered the bento combo. The beef and chicken were cooked well and seasoned lightly, which I appreciated. The rice was on the mushy side, likely because of the volume they're producing. The California roll was warm and soft from the freshly cooked rice not my preference. The tempura, miso soup, and gyoza were all decent, but nothing that stood out. My wife ordered the veggie and chicken bowl. The portions were generous, but overall it was another solid meal that didn't really separate itself from similar restaurants. What surprised me most was how much of the restaurant's popularity seems to come from social media. It definitely attracts a younger crowd, and the online hype has made it a destination. But if you judge it strictly on the food, I think it's good not amazing. One thing I would encourage them to improve is hospitality. Don't be stingy with condiments, make sure you add the proper amount of utensils and when customers ask for a little extra, make them feel welcome. Those small interactions leave a lasting impression and build loyal customers. Overall, I can see why it's busy, but for me the hype exceeded the food. If you're expecting a viral, life-changing meal, you may leave wondering what all the excitement was about. If you're looking for a quick, decent meal to grab and go, it'll do the job.

Overall, the food was excellent, even my Asian parents, who can be pretty critical when it comes to Chinese food, gave most dishes high marks. The crispy noodles had great texture, the West Lake beef soup was comforting and flavorful, and the eggplant portions were generous. The service was what I'd describe as classic Chinese restaurant service. The waitress came across as a little rushed and occasionally seemed slightly annoyed, but she was still attentive and accommodated everything we asked for without any issues. Our food came out at a reasonable pace, and we never felt forgotten or had to chase anyone down. The atmosphere had its own unique charm. The restaurant was playing early-2000s hip-hop while a Chinese gangster drama played on the TV, which made for an unexpectedly entertaining backdrop. The restroom was also clean, which is always appreciated. My only real criticism is the sweet and sour pork. The batter itself was crispy and well executed, but too many of the pieces were mostly breading wrapped around bone with very little meat. It was the one dish I probably wouldn't order again. Even with that one miss, everything else was strong enough that we left very satisfied.
