I would like to begin by noting that I am a frequent customer of Dave's Hot Chicken and have had positive experiences at many of their locations. Unfortunately this particular visit was the most disappointing I have encountered. Upon arrival there was no staff member at the front counter and it took several minutes before the cashier assisted me. After placing my order I waited approximately 15 minutes for my food. Notably my order was brought out at the same time as another customer's order even though they arrived 5-10 minutes after I did. When I received my meal I requested an additional serving of Dave's sauce and was informed there would be an extra charge. This was unexpected as I have not been charged for sauce at other locations and I understand this may be a new policy but never have been charged for Dave's sauce. Like can we agree one little sauce container is not enough for 2 slider meal and fries. Additionally my sandwich was prepared incorrectly and it included coleslaw despite my request for no slaw or pickles. Due to time constraints I was unable to ask for a correction. I also observed that several customers who arrived after me experienced delays because there was no staff available at the front counter. I went late (9:00p) on a Friday night, and the store was nice, clean, with plenty of seating available. Our order was prepared quite fast! The #2 (2 Sliders + Fries) and #3 (1 Slider + 1 Tenders + Fries) are both hearty options to satisfy any hungry adult. I would even say getting 2 sliders might be more worth it, as you can eat one and save the second for another meal later on. The sauce it comes with reminds me of the Chick-fil-A sauce; I added some to my sandwich and also my fries. The service is prompt but you need to ask for the condiments and cutlery if you want any. The only downside for me was this strange smell inside that was like old or rancid oil. I forgot to add a drink so I purchased one while I waited for my order. They have coke products and gold peak tea selections. I ordered the slider and not chicken cauli bites both in the mild- medium heat range. Food is made fresh to order. Restrooms were clean and well stocked. I was pleasantly surprised by the bites, cooked nicely subtle sweetness with a hint of smokey heat and not overly spicey. The pickles and dipping sauce compliment it well. The slider was also very good, chicken was freshly cooked and juicy. The potatoe bun was nice as well, my only complaint is that there needed to be a little more saw with the slider to really pull it all together. The gentleman that helped us asked if we were returning or new customers and once we explained we were new, he took the time to explain the menu to us to include the spice/ sauce variations. I thought it was cool that he took the time to do that and it elevated our experience. My son and I both got the #4 , which is the slider with crinkle cut fires.
