Been coming here for around 3 years now and wouldn't go anywhere else. Mainly use for gas, standard oil changes and have also had some minor repairs. They've always done what needed to be repaired and only recommended getting some other repairs done once, which I knew probably needed them (brakes). read more

I have to agree with the other reviews, I came here when I had a flat tire, actually went to another tire place just south on Waukegan in Deerfield and they didn't have time to fix my tire and even quoted me more $$ then this place. So glad I drove north and found this shell. The men were very nice and made me feel comfortable and at ease (being a woman alone with a baby) within 40mins my flat was fixed and I was driving home. Brought my truck here to get slow tire leaks repaired. Was told tires had to be removed, resealed, and re mounted. 2 days later, my truck was sitting in my driveway on a flat tire. Yes, one of the tires they "fixed". FAIL. Do not take your car here. read more

So I flatted on Deerfield Road and called Deerfield Shell for help. One of their guys was over in 5 minutes with a hydraulic pump. The tire was trashed but pumping up the tire gave it enough life for me to drive around the corner to the station. They put on the spare and charged $35 total. Plus the station is walking distance from the train. And they are open til midnight! I'll definitely be back. read more

My wife called me yesterday to say her tire was going flat. She works in the Highland Park area, so I turned to Yelp and found this place. Based on all the good feedback, I pointed her to Deerfield Shell, too. And after going there she had nothing but good things to say about them. Absolute scam. They dont know what they are doing, replaced my entire brakes when there was a completely different issue, then 3 weeks later I had a completely new breakdown because they missed the real problem. I cant believe people in the area recommended this place to me. Now several weeks later I had another breakdown and they refused the vehicle because they didnt even want to tell me what was wrong. It was my primary and work vehicle, and they wouldn't even look at it or touch it because I described something they didnt like. I'm trying to figure out what my next move is and my recommended mechanic just flat out told me to go to hell and I just gave them 800 dollars in business not a month prior. I go to this gas station all the time and work less than a block away, these people know me and they wouldn't even look at my truck after failing to fix it prior. Kevin is a terrible mechanic and will not fix your car, he will only replace entire systems on your vehicle that dont need replacement so they can bill you for something. They do NOT fix cars. Same old mechanic BS from a supposedly trustworthy mechanic. All the same. read more

These folks are excellent mechanics and provide great service. I have been using them since 1994 and they are always HONEST, quick, and reasonable with any repair or service. They only recommend required routine service or safety and reliability maintenance. Kevin and the rest of the crew can handle just about anything that you need and if they are not the best choice they will tell you. I have had a Timing Belt replaced, brakes, wheel cylinders, alternators, starters, etc. Rock solid. You can always count on them getting it done right, priced right, and quickly. They are a rare find. read more

My husband grew up with the owner and when my Lexus needed service I decided to ditch my Lexus dealership and try this Shell station. They handled the repairs quickly, were very reasonably priced and great to deal with. Saved SO much money for the same work quoted at the dealership. We wouldn't take our cars anywhere else. These guys have been my mechanics for the last 15 years. I'm pretty sure the owner has worked here for over 20 years, and the head mechanic has been working in Deerfield for at least 30 years. That should speak for itself. They also fix the towns post office vehicles as well as taxi cabs. They also have a tow truck.. and FREE air for your tires! I'll continue to use these guys as long as they are around, wheather it's for gas, service, or a tow. read more

Whether you just need a fill up, oil change, fast fix a flat or full service... like when one of those "check engine" lights goes on and you don't want to go to the dealership... and you don't want to get a new this or that and just want to fix the problem without a sales pitch.... go to the Deerfield Shell station. I grew up in Deerfield and walking into this Shell is like the "good ol' days" where service is #1 and very fair pricing.
