WOW- A stunning vineyard with impeccable wines. The staff here is so friendly and informative. Best advice is to book an appointment, this isn't your typical winery with 100 tourist. A member of the staff will take you on an intimate and personalized tour. The perfect winery for a romantic getaway.

Our host was Jeff. He was funny, informative and relaxing. It was the best visit of all our 6 tours. Ask him how he got his job.

Their land, soil, climate makes all the difference. It's a winding road to get up here but you will enjoy the gorgeous view up here. A spacious tasting room, lot of sunlight, airy, you feel like you are the only one here! Check out my photos, it speaks louder than my words :-) Take a stroll down to the Vineyard, Mr. Nick our host was so graciously tour us around. We love Encosta their Bordeaux style red wine, often purchased at Vintage Wine Merchants on Santana Row, in San Jose, I finally got to try their estate Gandona red and their amazing Chardonnay, Burgundian style, so lovely. You got to taste 4-5 wines, and if you decide to buy a few bottles to go, they may wave to fee depends on your purchase. $120 per person, you get 1 to 1.5 hours of the view for yourself, now that money can buy, worth every penny! Check out their Port too, and the lovely rose, when you arrive. This is 1 of my favorite visits ever in St. Helena, Napa Valley, and trust me I visit the valley here very often. Appointment only, we booked 6 weeks in advance for a weekend visit! Give yourself 80 minutes drive if you are coming from downtown Napa.

Call well in advance to see if any appointments are available. Gandona offers a unique setting above Lake Hennessey with unmatched visitas and beauty. Plus the winery itself is classic in its look, atmosphere, and the owners' use of reclaimed and repurposed wood and other materials. A quick tour preceeded our tasting and it was evident what a very special set of vineyards Gandona has as their own. Beautiful views abound at every turn in the paths! No wonder their wines are highlly sought after and their Cabernet Sauvignons are unmatched in the world of wine. Erin was a friendly, helpful, and amazingly knowledgeable host for our visit. Eventhough it was high season, we were not rushed and afforded a wonderful and relaxed tasting! The Gandona tasting room is set to take full advantage of the views and surroundings. The stone work alone is worth the visit. The Gandona Cabs are amazing, full-bodied, lushly layered wines and you can taste Pritchard Hill's influence along with the hand of famed winemaker Philippe Melka in the glass! If you are a fan of the best Cabs offered in the Napa Valley, be sure to include Gandona Estate in your visits! You will be treated to an amazing set of expereinces! Cheers!

One of my favorite wineries in all of Napa, and the only one where we've held onto our membership…read morefor years. Easy to find, beautiful from the road in, and exactly what you picture when you think Napa. The whites and reds are all worth trying. Each one tastes distinct, and the flagship bottles run $44 to $125, so not cheap, but fair for wines this good. Membership is the real draw. Members get full tastings plus a food menu for themselves and two guests, which we lean on every time we pick up wine. The grounds are stunning. Plenty of tables across the property, including quiet, secluded spots for a real conversation. The member experience runs about 1.5 hours, which is plenty. The food held up too. Tomato arancini with basil aioli, bruschetta, roasted olives, marcona almonds, hummus with crispy pita, sourdough with oil and balsamic. The arancini was the best bite of the spread, crisp outside, creamy in the middle, with the basil aioli pulling it together. Staff have been friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful on every visit. A few notes: tastings cap around 6 to 8 per party, specialty experiences like the Cambium vertical are discounted for members rather than free, and your membership carries over to their sister property, St. Francis in Sonoma. Plenty of parking and EV charging. Go as a member if possible.

He was funny and engaging throughout the entire time, giving us a thorough history of the wines. Our food bites were tasty as well, and were a nice addition to our wine tasting. We ended up purchasing two wine bottles from our tasting selection - Cabernet Franc and Cambium. Major also gave special attention to our golden retriever, Rex, which made us happy. We love that this place is super dog friendly. The atmosphere was beautiful and peaceful. Just a perfect setting for wine tasting. We will definitely come back here again!!
