I needed someone to mount a new 77" LG G5 OLED and connect it to my new Sonos Arc Ultra surround audio system. This was an expensive home theater and I didn't want to have to add another $1000 mounting the tv and hiding the cables if I could avoid it. I called David AV Installations to describe the job. I was not only impressed with how much cheaper the quote was than others offered, but I described that I wasn't sure where the studs were or if I needed a recessed media box. He said they could bring a low profile mount and recessed media box just in case we need them. We ended up needing the tv mount and David was also able to provide three 4k HDMI's that were much better than the cables I would've ordered. David was meticulous with measurements and more than gracious to position the tv just how we wanted it. He is also an electrician which helped in rerouting the power to a recessed plug behind the tv. The mounted tv not only looks amazing but the sound and picture are likely much better because of the little details. The job was less than $500 total including the tv mount and hdmi's he provided. I would highly recommend supporting a small business like David's over some of the other tv mounting businesses that will likely cost much more for the same high end installation.

Wasted my entire day. Scheduled appointment for 10am Saturday morning. 11 minutes he messages he needs to reschedule for 11:30-12:30. At 12:49 he said he has to push the appointment back to 5:30. Very unprofessional. Do not recommend this person unless you want to wait around all day for him. read more

The best Cable Management that I have seen. David was ver quick to respond to my questions and concerns both through texts and phone calls. He did an amazing, clean work. He very quick and proffesional with his service. He quotes are some the lowest that I have seen in Los Angeles County area. 150 per tv which one of the lowest. David has just completed work on his fifth installation in our house. I can't imagine relying on anyone else to do the level of work he does to artfully flush mount a tv. He's responsive, fairly priced and has concealed all of the cords, hardware etc. so the finished work is elegant. He has installed two Samsung Frames for us and 3 other flat screens in a manner that makes them look as is you hung a portrait instead of a tv. Cannot recommend enough. read more

We live in the South Bay in house that was built in 1921 with lath and plaster so getting good WiFi is not easy. Brian spent a few hours assessing our entire house, Sonos system and TV's. He provided a thorough, detailed proposal that addressed our needs. He did not try to nickel and dime us or oversell as others tried to do. Brian goes above and beyond (went to Home Depot to buy mat black paint to hide marks behind the media room TV). The 4 people who work for him are impeccable and care about the job being done beautifully. We are so appreciative of his work and follow through. Brian came back twice to troubleshoot a technical challenge from old equipment, at no charge because he insisted the entire system work perfectly. Read the many 5 star reviews of Circuit Genius over the past 7 years, which are spot on- so very happy that we did.

UPDATE: THIS CONTRACTOR'S LICENSE IS NOW SUSPENDED DUE TO REFUSAL TO PAY A COURT ORDERED…read moreJUDGEMENT. My initial review stated that I was forced to file a lawsuit against Brian Staller / Circuit Genius (legally known as: Performance Telecomm) for breach of contract. The matter is now permanently settled by the court. After the vendor filed an appeal, the Los Angeles Superior Court ruled in my favor and found Circuit Genius / Performance Telecomm liable for breach of contract. Owner Brian Staller calls this a "frivolous lawsuit" in his response to my initial review, but the facts prove otherwise. In his response to my first post, Brian called the lawsuit "bananas-level false" and "frivolous." The fact that I won a judgment against this company not once, but twice--once at trial and again on appeal--means that two judges ruled in my favor, finding Circuit Genius / Performance Telecomm in breach of contract. The court's decision validated the vendor's refusal to honor two key contractual agreements: 1. The Refund Scam: The vendor refused to process an agreed-upon refund for a Yamaha receiver (which the contract stated had "No restock fee if not wanted"). Instead, he attempted to coerce me into a "settlement" that required me to sign a document agreeing to no online reviews, legal proceedings, chargeback attempts or warranty support for work done. 2. Deceptive Practices: After agreeing in writing to return to my home and install a network rack at "no extra charge," he later refused to do so unless I paid a new 2-hour service minimum. He then withheld equipment that I had already paid for and refused to refund the cost of that equipment. **This Contractor is now a Regulatory Liability** More than six months after the final judgment, Brian Staller / Circuit Genius / Performance Telecomm has refused to pay the court-ordered debt. His failure to comply with the judgment has resulted in severe disciplinary action: 1. License Suspension: The Contractors State License Board (CSLB), has suspended his license for failure to comply with an outstanding civil judgment. (See CSLB Record for Performance Telecomm; License 117708). 2. Business Lien: I have filed a lien against this business to attempt to enforce the judgement owed (See State of California Notice of Judgement Lien; File No: U250127585224). This business employs deceptive practices and does not honor contractual agreements. Brian is desperate to get 5-star reviews and refuses to accept anything less even if it means bullying and using intimidation tactics with his customers. A business that ignores its legal obligations, has a lien against it, and has its state license suspended should be a major red flag to anyone reading this. Do not put yourself through a lengthy legal ordeal with this vendor. Proceed with extreme caution.

Yelp was a great resource and I narrowed down my choices to LA Wifi Guys, as their information gave me the most confidence. Made an appointment and David came out. Really liked his approach. Honest and transparent and not hustling me for upsells. He described my options clearly and it was easy to decide what I wanted. Not cheap, but very fair considering the higher quality solution and more experienced installation. It actually cost notably less than my original set up, which was done 6 years ago and had less features and most of all turned out crappy. David gave me an estimate for parts delivery, which turned out to be exact, and we made the install appointment for the day after. He came in and was very polite, careful and steadfast. He also was great at explaining how to operate my new system. But most of all, weeks after the install, I am sooo happy with it! Had David come after using him before to mount TV, to install an outdoor WiFi 7 access point with a hardwired ethernet run from my router to a mounting location on the exterior of the house, including PoE injector, surge protector, weatherproof cable entry, and a proper ground line to my house electrical service ground rod. David actually understood what I was trying to do. I came in with a specific setup (TP-Link EAP772-Outdoor, 2.5G PoE+, surge protection, AFC-enabled 6 GHz) and he didn't try to talk me into anything different or upsell me. He asked the right questions about the cable run, the wall material, where the AP needed to face for coverage, and walked through the install plan before quoting. The workmanship is exactly what you'd hope for. Clean cable runs, properly secured with outdoor-rated staples, sealed wall penetration with weatherproof grommet, and the grounding was done by code -- single-point ground to the existing electrode, no separate rod, no splices in the ground wire. The surge protector is mounted properly at the cable entry point, and the AP is positioned for optimal line-of-sight to the yard. Everything looks like a professional did it, because one did. Customer service was on point start to finish. Showed up on time, kept me updated, cleaned up after the work, and walked me through what was installed and why. Even helped me verify the 2.5 Gbps link was negotiating properly before they left. Pricing was genuinely reasonable for the project and definitely less than I'd budgeted, and well below what I was quoted by another installer who wanted to push me toward their preferred equipment. Would absolutely use them again for the next phase of this project (running speaker wire and audio components to a detached garage). Thank Goodness I have found David. Now I feel I do not have to worry about any problems I have with TV and audiovisual equipment at home. David is extremely knowledgeable. When my TV was not working, he came and explained to me how he tested the various components of my TV system, and how he came to the conclusion of what to change and how to fix it and he fixed it in no time at a very reasonable price. Because of the great experience I had with him, I subsequently asked him to move and install a table and monitoring system for a computer system and again he did that in a reliable fashion, with no worries. I can trust David to do an excellent job at the best price and take care of my concerns. I asked him to fix my other TV and install headphones so my children could listen to the TV while I work. He was able to come at the end of his busy day, buy the appropriate headphones and equipment and did an excellent job of it all. He is so hardworking and good at his job and very good at trying to accommodate busy schedules. I will be using David for any subsequent TV and audiovisual repairs and installations and I cannot recommend him highly enough. Yelp deleted my review that I posted in February. I've hired David to do a number of jobs, the biggest of which was mounting my 65-inch TV to my living room wall. He did a tremendous job: all of the wires were hidden, and he gave me options for the types of mounts I wanted, which he installed seamlessly. I was very pleased with the work and the price point. Made sure that he spoke with me when there were options available for anything, i.e. speaker placement, height, etc. What we thought would be an easy rewiring of an existing 5.1 speaker system, turned out to be a challenge (1929 house with old walls). He came through and was able to place the speakers in the right places. He also was able to troubleshoot an error message (HDCP 2.2) hooking up my new Amazon Fire Cube and my 4 year old Samsung 4kUHD TV. Who knew that the HDMI ports on the back of the TV would be different from each other with only HDMI 3 being HDCP 2.2 compliant. I would definitely recommend him for an AVR/Speaker setup. read more

David has done two recent jobs for us. He installed lighting along our front steps. To do so he brought several sample lights and came at night so we could see how each of them looked and illuminated the front walk. It made it so much easier to choose. Then he installed them two days later. He also made some improvements in the close where the timer was installed so that access was easier. Yesterday he installed a sprinkler timer.
