I figured David's was the most basic option so I just did that instead of some boutique. Boy, I am glad I went. Sarah Ann was INCREDIBLE. She somehow knew me to my core and ended up finding me the perfect dress. And a few other perfect dresses. She was SO helpful and kind and really just fun to work with. This was a magical experience, it has been rough planning a wedding during the Covid circumstances. Stay away from the alterations department!!!! Management is extremely pushy of doing all the alterations as opposed as giving us an option. One of the ladies I can not remember her name unfortunately. While I was changing out of my dress she said "I need your form of payment". I explained to her that no prices were given to me. I was unaware of how much my alterations were going to be. She then insisted I give her a form of payment. Once I stepped out of the dressing. I asked her and Sara ( she was very helping) what is my total for my alterations. I also asked if it's something that I had to do now or wait since the wedding is in June. She gave me a price of $75 and Sara corrected her and said no it's $60. She then gave Sara such a horrific look! She looks at me and says okay it's $60 for the alterations. I said okay thank you, give me a minute. I was confused as to why she would give the assistant such a look and me 2 different prices. She then looks at me and says do you not have the funds? Do you need to call someone to get the funds? I have NEVER felt so profiled in my life!!!! I asked her to unhelm my dress and I was taking it just like that. Marissa was the person that helped my sister pick out her wedding dress and she was amazing! She was attentive to the details and had great taste when choosing selections based on the bride's top 3 dresses. This place is clean and organized. The staff were super helpful and nice. And the selection of wedding dresses were plentiful. They really try their best to help you find the dress! And they offer alterations too. I thought the bridesmaid dresses were a bit limited. I couldn't find many off the shoulders options (which was what I was looking for). Tip: -going in on a weekday or later in the day on a weekend to have a more private session to yourself. We had such a wonderful experience here. Elizabeth was so helpful. She listened to our needs and totally came thru for us. My daughter was very specific on her first holy communion dress and Elizabeth pulled the perfect dress. She helped us with the entire outfit. I am a very reluctant bride and was not looking forward to climbing in and out of dresses to find the right one, however, I had I the BEST experience with my stylist Brooke and the rest of the staff. Getting married in the middle of a pandemic is stressful enough, so the store's updated COVID policies made for a boutique and personalized visit, funny enough! Brooke made me feel extremely comfortable and we were in and out with the perfect dress after just a few try-ons. DO NOT COME HERE FOR ALTERATIONS. POOR QUALITY AND CRAFTSMANSHIP. NO RESPONSIBILITY TAKEN. After some time and consideration, I contacted DB's customer service to request a reimbursement for ruining my WEDDING DRESS. They said someone would contact me within 48hrs, however, they finally reached a week later to offer me a $60 refund from the total $900.86 spent in alterations. This is INSULTING. My dress was sent to a 3rd party tailor where they removed the beads and the mesh from my dress to take in the sides and shoulders, and when they sewed everything back on they did a poor job, and therefore, EVERYTHING FELL APART. It's the staff's responsibility to review the craftsmanship of the tailor and guarantee the dress is secured. Brides like myself came to DB's over mom & pop shop tailors, because this is a National Company we feel we can trust. DB also overcharges on alterations in comparison to other places, and I very well knew that but CHOSE to come here willing to pay the costs because again this is a National Company that Brides should be able to trust. Brides spend thousands of dollars on their wedding dresses and alterations combined for the most important day in our lives, and I had mine fall apart on my wedding day even before my ceremony began. I have lost my complete faith in David's Bridal and am insulted by the fact that this company is refusing to do right and take responsibility for the poor service it has provided. In addition, in further reviewing my receipt in detail I found that I was also OVERCHARGED for 12 additional bustle buttons that were not on my dress. Not only does this company NOT CARE or guarantee their work but they sneak in other items on your receipt that is not included in the overall alterations. As a recent Bride, I should be worrying about just having my dress cleaned and preserved, but instead I'm spending hundreds of more dollars in having my designer send me materials and fabric I lost and having my dress re-tailored, because this company did a UNSATISFACTORY JOB in their alterations. My reason for an actual REFUND is completely justifiable, but DB is only willing to give me a $60.00 refund offer. This is completely OFFENSIVE and DISAPPOINTING coming from a Big Named Company. DB's Alterations motto under QUALITY and CRAFTSMANSHIP is "artistry in every stitch. A whole lot of time, attention, and love goes into every single David's Bridal dress. ....,you'll receive the breathtaking style and highly skilled craftsmanship you deserve." However the QUALITY and CRAFTSMANSHIP motto that DB goes by and offers is completely misleading and false! My dress did not receive the time, attention or the love they say they put in each dress. There was no artistry in every stitch. My Wedding Dress did not receive the highly skilled craftsmanship they advertise. Otherwise, my seams and beads would NOT have come undone within the hour of wearing my dress on my Wedding Day. read more

I had no idea what I wanted so the first time I tried on SEVERAL dresses. I narrowed it down to my top three and came back a week later with my "Say Yes to the Dress" bridal party. I tried them on and we found the 1. As I am ordering my dress in size 12, I'm told it can't come in my size in time for my wedding but I could have the floor sample but no additional discounts could be made. No discounts for a dirty and torn dress?!?! It was so beautiful and the 1! So I asked alterations how much to make the size 14 dress fit me since she explained cleaning and repairs would be free since it was a floor sample. $700 dollars to take 1 inch off both sides to get the dress to fit. Ridiculous!! So I opted to order size 10 so I could have a brand new dress. I also ordered a second reception dress because the ceremony dress was so heavy and I want to dance on my big day. The stylist I was working with took my measurements for the second dress and recommended I buy a size 16. I thought this was really strange since I normally wear a size 10 and I have heard about going a size up but a 16?! She kept explaining how my measurements called for a 16 in this particular form fitting dress (never actually showed me this in print though) so I ordered it. {I found out later that was a lie and the other sizes (12 or 14) I should have ordered wouldn't have arrived in time so to make her commission on a dress sale she talked me into a dress that's too big. They probably get commission on the alterations she thought I would do to it to make it fit} 2 and a half months later, the day before my dresses are supposed to arrive, the alterations department calls me to confirm the appointment. I asked if my dress arrived before I can confirm. She puts me on hold and after a while, explains my dress is a couple days late and will arrive shortly. A week and 4 days goes by and I haven't heard anything from the store. I call the store and am put on hold for a while. Finally a manager comes on the line and states my dress arrived but there was a "quality issue" with my ceremony dress that came from the warehouse, so they had to reorder it and now it won't arrive until a couple days before the wedding. I asked why no one called me to notify me of the "quality issue" and they said the employee who handles this no longer works there. I went to pick up my reception dress and of course, its too big and its now past the 7 days return and exchange policy because I ordered it months ago. So now I am stuck with no ceremony dress and a too big reception dress with only two months until my wedding. I came into the store looking for some accessories and shoes over the weekend for a last minute bridal shower. I was greeted by Claudia and I explained my situation. Although I didn't have an appointment she said it wouldn't be a problem and she could help me. We walked over to the shoes and I showed her what I was looking for. She pulled out some similar styles and I was able to try them on. I went and selected my favorite ones. We then walked over jewelery, she recommended to get the jewelery set of earing and necklace. It was beautiful. I was in the store for about 20 minutes and it was such an amazing experience. I got in and out. I would recommend this location. The staff is so polite and helpful. I initially scheduled an appointment for a bridal gown fitting with David's Bridal. The appointment was easy to schedule and I was able to get right to trying on dresses at my appointment time. I had hoped that I would at least be able to narrow down to one style in my appointment time and expected a second session would be needed. The girl that helped me was nice, but it seemed difficult to find something that I liked and complimented my body. I decided to try another shop and didn't have the same issue, so I think it might have been either the fact that the sales lady had two customers at a time and had to split her focus, or that she was not really understanding the things I liked/disliked. After purchasing from another shop, I thought I was set, but they ended up not communicating the correct information to me about alterations, which left me in a bind before my wedding. I checked and saw David's does alterations on dresses not from their shop, so I booked an appointment. The alterations manager was very knowledgeable and helpful, and I felt like I was in good hands with her. I think she was trying to train a couple of new people, because she seemed very annoyed with the other staff, and at times it was a bit uncomfortable to be in the middle of it. We got everything squared away and I ended up getting the alterations from David's. I needed my dress take out a bit, and the hem needed to raise up quite a bit. We also put a bustle in. I was quite shocked at the price (it ended up being almost as much as the dress, and the dress wasn't cheap either!). However, given the situation I wasn't going to argue or wait and potentially have a disaster down the road. When I got my dress back, I did notice that the hem was not take up as much as we had agreed to, but since it was so close I was afraid to mention it in case it would cause my dress to cut it too close to my travel. We hemmed it with me barefoot and I was wearing platform heels in my ceremony, so at least I was up high enough that it didn't trip me. Thankfully I was very comfy in the heels so I ended up wearing them most of the night. When I did switch to flats, it was definitely too long to dance in and I had to hike it up a bit, which felt awkward. All in all, I would recommend the alterations, especially if you are in a bind like I was. While my hem was a little on the long side, the alterations were done well and looked very professional (you couldn't tell it was altered from looking at it, it just looked like it was made at those proportions). When it comes to shopping for a dress, it wouldn't be my first choice, but it also wasn't bad. I think it's good if you either know exactly what you want or if you need to try on some styles to help you decide what you want. read more

The worst place to go when you are looking for bridal dress or any dress. This place does NOT deserve ANY stars ! My mom came to return a dress she bought which she never even took out from the plastic wrap because she change her mind and found a different dress. Then the manager Leslye and the other girls said that they can't accept it because it's dirty, has stains at the bottom part, damage and smelled like it's been worn. Keep in mind that this gown is super long and most of the time customers don't check the bottom part prior to buying.. This dress has not been worn since my mom bought it and took it home...she did try it on at the store and it was super long for a petite 5'1" frame hence the stain from the bottom edges due to repeated customers trying it on which they never even considered. . Long story short we went to DB store to return it because she already found another dress. They wouldn't accept it! And even accused us of causing the dirt stain, etc. to the dress! Even after my mom insisted that she did not take it out of the plastic wrap they kept insisting it's damaged. We felt these sales people were ganging up on us and insisted we damage the dress..They told us that It has stain, discoloration at the bottom and it smelled like it's been worn! That obviously came from many people who tried it on at the store. We don't smell the dress when we buy it. Because we trust that it's new. Bottom line , they are not taking responsibility for it and putting the blame on my mom instead of them taking responsibility that the signs of wear was already there even prior to my mom buying it. Leslye kept saying she checked it from head to bottom before she wrap it.. omg. I have never heard anyone make up fake stories like that. And I dare these people to look at the time stamped it was bought! And they would know that they never check the bottom! . She did not check it! Because my daughter saw her during check out. All she did was put a plastic wrap over it. if she did she should have shown us the current state of the dress regardless to make sure it was in pristine condition prior to leaving the store..isn't that what you are supposed to do and communicate to your customer? and she would have seen those stains she was talking about at the bottom. They never check because they know that customers would change their mind for sure and would not buy the dress if they knew. Bottom line Leslye did NOT check the bottom edges of the dress and the stains! Common sense will tell these people it was never used because it remained intact and was never altered at all when we tried to return it. The only regret we had was didn't check it prior to leaving the store because we trust that DB would only sell brand new dresses! It happens customers trust the dress is in good condition when they buy it! It's pointless arguing with people who are already close minded and won't listen to you. My 83 year old mom was so down when we left the store but I tried to comfort her and told her never again to go to that store. I hope you experience being in our shoes so you get to feel how it is to be accused of lies like you did to my mom! DAVIDs BRIDAL! We still want our money back and you can keep the dress! Today I went in for an alterations appointment. I was helped by Laura and Jo. They were both really nice and helpful! Jo was super knowledgeable and made me feel very confident about getting my wedding dress altered. I actually semi-fainted while I was there (standing too long in one place haha) and Jo gave me water and a fan. She and Laura both checked up on me to make sure I was okay. I had another appointment at David's Bridal in Burbank. Even though my first appointment was amazing, I started having doubts and went back to try on more dresses. I was paired with Sarah again as well as Laura who was training that day. Both Sarah and Laura are absolutely incredible and made me feel SO gorgeous. They picked out another dress for me based on what I was describing and the second I put it on I knew this was the dress for me. My sister is getting married in a few weeks and ordered her bridesmaid's dresses from David's Bridal. I went in several months ago to order mine. You try on the dress for sizing purposes and they order the dress for you in the color selected (if they don't have one you can try on in store). I remember trying on two different sizes, a size 2 and a size 4. Even though I thought the size 2 fit just fine, the sales associate highly encouraged me to get the size 4 and said the size 2 looked way too tight and I would have back fat in it (!). No one wants that so I ordered the size 4. The dress came in a few weeks later and I let it sit in my closet for a while, acting under the assumption that it would fit perfectly. Whoops. I tried it on about a week ago just to make sure it looked okay and I was horrified!! I completely panicked because the dress practically fell off my body, it was WAY too big. Of course I'm freaking out at this point since the wedding is only a few weeks away. I called the store and explained my situation, that an associate of theirs told me I should order a size 4 but I shouldn't have listened to them since it doesn't fit at all. I wasn't even sure what could be done at that point, but I was praying for a miracle! Ryan was a miracle worker!! He completely alleviated my panic and stress and told me not to worry. He asked me to bring in the dress that I have and he would order the new dress in the correct size that day. He said it would arrive in about a week or two, just about a week shy of the wedding date, giving me a little bit of time for alterations to the length. I didn't have to pay a dime and I was so scared I would have to purchase a brand new dress, have to pay for express shipping, or even worse, the dress style was no longer in stock and I would have to pay a ton of money for alterations to get it to fit. I am SO incredibly thankful to Ryan and the way he handled the situation. His customer service was excellent and I couldn't be more grateful to him. Poor poor poor Customer Service...First time - False advertisement they DO NOT accept walk-in brides but making an appointment is a breeze. (Four Star) Second time - We met a bridal consultant named Sarah and her Manager it was awesome they were very helpful and accommodating my bridesmaid and myself were very happy. They listened to everything I said and we were there within a breeze 2:30 pm left the store at 4:32 pm. The gown was suppose to come in 11/28/2019, however they called me 11/1/2019 and told me dress has arrived and was totally ecstatic. (Five Star) Third time (suppose to be a charm and made me regret buying & ever making business here) I came in with my bridesmaid, I was already unimpress with how my gown was package (mind you this was over 1000 dress) it was like a trash bag with just davids bridal logo on it. My bridesmaid were trying on dresses and I went to the reception area twice to ask if I can try on my dress she keeps telling me to hold on. I understand that other client (prospective clients walking in) she just keep brushing me off I even told her that I have my bridesmaid already at the fitting area I don't need anyone to help me coz I also saw alterations dept and she told me to ask one of the ladies to call her when I am ready. I finally took the dress and put it on after almost two hours waiting for them. 15 minutes later we asked them where is alterations they said they left already. Seriously, they charge us for a garment bag and only waive it when we start complaining. The worst part is the Manager was unapologetic she was making excuses and its a poor and bad excuse "we told you we are short staff today, and you went to the restroom when you walk in" seriously What kind of a lousy excuse is that? I've been a bridesmaid before and had such a horrible experience at a different David's Bridal location, so I was a little hesitant to try this out again for my Mother in law's wedding dress. But we had drove all the way to Burbank to find her dress at a vintage store, well to our surprise they no longer had bridal gowns. We were bummed out and ended up driving by and told my MIL if she wanted to browse around to see styles she may like. We were greeted and were told since we did not have an appointment we won't be able to try any on unless there was a cancelation. So we browsed and Stephanie answered any questions we had. We were then told that we can leave our number and they would call back in an hour to see if someone cancelled and give us their spot. My MIL was bummed out but said if it's meant to be they will called and they did!! Rushed back over and Stephanie introduced us to Sarah Ann, who is the BEST! She asked what she wanted in her dress and budget. She takes us to the racks and pulls out this beaded column dress and the first thing my MIL said was NO!! So Sarah Ann asked what she didn't like about it and if she could change something what would it be. So she pulled a couple of other dresses for her to try on. She didn't like any of the dresses so Sarah asked her if she would please give the "No dress" a try on. And to our surprise it was the ONE!!! Let me just say how helpful, polite, and funny she was! FINDING MY DRESS Trying on dresses was so amazing and extremely exciting, but words couldn't express how wonderful it was to find MY dress. Jenni was so amazing along with the rest of the staff and Stephanie the manager. We got it down and found it my dress on the first try! Thank you so much for all your help Jenni! So there you have it girls, when you come to the David's Bridal in Burbank, ask for Jenni ! ALTERATIONS Alterations is costly, so just keep that in mind when purchasing your dress.
