had the best time trying on dresses at glamour closet and will be recommending this place to anyone looking to get a wedding dress in LA! i was recommended this place by a friend, and this was the very first place i went when starting my hunt for a wedding dress. upon arrival, i was greeted by amanda, who is the sweetest sales associate and gave me the best first experience i had when dress shopping. upon arrival, they explained the layout of the store and gave me some clips to flag down the dresses i loved most, and then brought me to back to try on dresses. after trying on a few, amanda had a better idea of my style and pulled some other dresses for me to try. while i ultimately ended up getting my wedding dress elsewhere, my experience with amanda was still my favorite of my wedding dress journey and for that i am so thankful! their wedding dress selection is incredible, and they restock every few weeks! they carry gently used samples at very reasonable prices. i was able to try on dresses from sarah seven, monique lluillier, and more (and they even carry ines di santo!) in addition to wedding dresses, they also have mini's as well! please give this place a shot if wedding shopping in LA! read more

After no joke going to about 7 different 'traditional' dress boutique stores, I decided for my sanity, I needed a dress that I could take home immediately. No reservations and walk-ins only so there may be a wait. They have a wide selection available with varying price points and designers. The dresses are also sorted through sizes too which is helpful. You have a set of pins (I think around 10?) and you add pins to the hangers of dresses you are interested in. Attendants are friendly and attentive to you. I went to Glamour Closet twice, about 2 months apart from one another. The second time, I initially came for just didn't give that spark. I saw a dress on the mannequin that I inquired and voila! It was a new arrival so no one in the store had tried it on yet and looked brand new with original tags still on. I ended up purchasing a Monique Lhuillier from the Spring 2020 Bridal Collection, gown 'Kiss' which retailed for $5,900.00 and it was priced nearly 60% off. Glamour Closet had the best price even from other resellers I could find online. Bridal shop that accepts walk-ins only (reservations can't be made here). Came here with two friends and after a 20 minute wait, we were lucky to be able to shop. There were only two stylists (who were both very lovely) so I would suggest trying to come in early if you want to shop. There is a selection of designer dresses for a deep discount, including Vera Wang, Marchessa, and Lihi Hod. The racks are organized by style type and size. Since the store only stocks samples, what you see is the only size. You get 8 clips to pin on dresses that you'd like to try. For first time shoppers, I'd recommend trying a variety because if you're like my friend, you might fall in love unexpectedly with a style that you didn't think you'd like. While I didn't end up buying my dress here, it was not for lack of inventory or kindness from the staff. They have SO many dresses. There is not a set schedule of deliveries but you can definitely ask them when they've received new inventory. I'm a bargain shopper so I loved the idea of this "wholesale model" and I think if I had more time to shop for my dress I would've kept coming back to check the new inventory! Staff is incredibly welcoming! They genuinely want to help you find the perfect dress. I did end up buying my dress at Glamour Closet but did want to share my experience for anyone else who has a similar experience. Glamour Closet was the fourth place I went to try on wedding dresses after hearing about a couple of friends of friends who found their dress here. I came with my mom and as soon as I walked in shortly after they opened on a Saturday, after driving over an hour to get there. A blonde woman who seemed really frazzled and rude, and told us we'd need to wait a while, which was fine. At first she told my mom that we should just go get coffee and come back later then seemed to change her mind and decide we could look at dresses. She asked me what my street size is and I told her it's a 6-8 in dresses. She moves my purse to the side to look me up and down and said "that's a bridal 12, and just looking at you, I can tell there's no way you'd fit into our bridal 12." she then tells me to just look at one rack of dresses that would fit my apparently enormous frame. I felt shamed, embarrassed, and tempted to just leave right away but we'd come so far and it was my mom's birthday and I knew she was excited to see me try on dresses. I was so surprised because the people I knew who had bought their dresses from there are also about my size and I hadn't heard of them being body shamed. In looking around, there were other girls shopping of my build too, so I was unclear why I was singled out. Thankfully, the woman who actually helped me with trying on dresses was absolutely wonderful! She had experience in design and was so kind and helpful. She actually picked out my dress and made me feel lovely in it. Even so, the other woman kept commenting to her to not pull a size 14 because it'd be too small for me and even with the dress I picked, she kept commenting on how it looked good because of my dark skin. On it's own, maybe fine, but after you've already body shamed me, now commenting on my skin tone wasn't super appreciated. Even though I had my dress, it took me weeks to feel excited about it because I came away from that appointment in literal tears to my fiance. There's a part of me that bought my dress because I didn't want to go through any more appointments of being made to feel so awful about myself, especially since I was coming down to the wire in terms of timing to find my dress. Be warned: they advertise no appointment needed and scold you if you come in in the late afternoon w/o one. What was supposed to be a wonderful first bridal appointment with my mom left me in tears with 0 dresses tried on. The younger associate was accommodating and tried to help us examine their selection w/o trying on, while the older blonde woman working barked at her and us that we could not try on dresses, as they had to help one customer and could go longer help because of this (the math is not mathing here, and they said they have 2 store associates to help 2 people at once but still couldn't assist me?). When we brought up to the older employee that their website advertised walk in appointments, she attempted to scold us on the importance of reading through website details. She could have easily been kind, said that she had to help the current client, let us look at dresses and then try on just 1 or 2 once the current client was completed. They also made no attempts to book us for another time and decided to talk poorly about us to the current customers reguarding our afternoon appointment time, telling them but not us that afternoon appointments should be avoided. I walked into Glamour Closet without expectations and left with the wedding dress of my dream. As a sample sale store, they do not take appointments and brides cannot "hold" a dress if they decide to continue shopping elsewhere. So when I fell in love with the first wedding dress I tried on-- a beautiful beaded Lihi Hod gown -- I had to take a risk and leave the dress behind. I attended my other appointments scheduled that same day, but nothing came close to the dress I found at Glamour Closet. The customer service at Glamour Closet was fantastic. I purchased my dress at the height of the pandemic, but they remained extremely professional and warm. They weren't pushy and made me and my two guests feel comfortable. I wish I remember the name of the consultant who assisted me as she was so sweet and easy to work with. As other reviews noted, many of the dresses do have imperfections, but to be expected since they are sample gowns. Luckily, my dress was in good condition and required no alterations other than bustling. I did have it cleaned before my wedding. Never judge a dress on the rack! My friend said yes to the dress here and we honestly didn't think that would happen at all. There's a huge variety of styles and prices they have, but everything is one of a kind, so the options felt slim as we were browsing through. Like we literally started picking dresses not based on looks but based on what sizes were available. A lot of the dresses were out of her comfort zone on the rack, but as soon as she tried it on, they were almost all maybes! I also appreciated that the sales here weren't pushy at all, really prioritized guiding the bride to be feel comfortable with the dress. They don't take appointments, and they don't hold any dresses so if you find something you really like, really consider unless that's a risk you're willing to take! I've had several married friends tell me to check out Glamour Closet and so I came here on a Saturday afternoon around 11:30am with 3 bridesmaids and it was basically empty! There was one bride purchasing her dress, but other than that, we had the whole store to ourselves for the entire hour we were there. Candice greeted us and explained how it works - there are several packed racks of gowns arranged by silhouette and they give you a bag of colored clothespins to pin on the dresses that you want to try on. My bridesmaids and I were pretty distracted just chatting and wandering around the racks, that we didn't end up picking out any dresses! But after I told Candice what I was looking for, she pulled two Jenny Yoo dresses from the back and a couple more from the racks for me to try. Overall, I think we were really lucky to be at GC when it wasn't crowded, because it was much less stressful. They do have a pretty big selection with lots of options in each silhouette and different price points as well. Dresses are discounted, but they carry a range of designers, that even with a discount, some dresses were still $4K! My favorite dress from GC was a Jenny Yoo that I tried on, but since you have to buy the dress off the rack, the amount of alterations it would've have needed would've put me way over budget (hemming, shortening straps, taking in waist, removing and re-applying applique, etc.) I didn't love the dress enough for all those alterations, lol. BRIDES - DON'T GET PRESSURED INTO BUYING!! I definitely felt like Candice was being quite pushy and was trying to get me to buy the Jenny Yoo dress. She left me clipped into the dress while she put the other dresses back, even though I told her I was ready to get changed and leave. (I got my bridesmaid to unclip me so I could change, lol) She also kept saying that it was my dress, it fit me so perfectly, it might be gone if I didn't buy it now and that I would barely need any alterations (yea, right lady) etc., etc. I dislike sales pressure of any kind, especially when it comes to such an important item!. So I stuck to my guns, and we left the store to go have some lunch. It's because of the sales pressure tactics that I'm docking a star. I understand why they do it, but I feel like my experience at every other bridal salon has been very different with little to no pressure. Fitting rooms are spacious, there are chairs for your entourage and a large mirror with one pedestal to stand on. Street parking was relatively easy to find. This place is a true gem! After visiting a few salons around town, I found my dream dress here, and I couldn't be happier with the dress and the warm, welcoming experience. The selection of dresses is incredible - if there's a dress style you found online or at one of the salons in town that you like, there is a VERY high chance they have something similar here - at a much lower cost. But the real standout here are the stylists. They know their inventory so well, and are masters at pulling options that work well for every possible taste. The vibe of this place is so warm and welcoming. You really get the feeling that the stylists are excited to help you find the best dress, whether it's from their shop or not. I so appreciated that they were not pushy at all. What they recommend you do is to go to some bridal shops and salons first and try on some dresses. Get a sense of the style and shape you want. Then come into the Glamour closet, show their incredibly experienced stylists the photos of the dress style(s) you like, and then watch them fly into action, filling your dressing room with options that fit that style - plus a few wild cards just for fun. Or, if you already know what you are looking for, you can go straight in and browse. All of the dresses here are samples directly from the designer. So they haven't ever been worn to a wedding or by another bride. They are mostly used for photo shoots, etc. So they are in great condition - and you are getting them at a much lower sample price. Do come prepared to buy a dress if you fall in love with it. The shop can't hold the samples after you leave. However, they will make notes about any dresses you love, and if you decide you want it later, you can call, ask if the dress is still there, and even buy it over the phone if you can't make it back to try on again asap. The stylists are also super knowledgable about tailoring, since that's a big part of the shop model. You buy whatever the sample size they have is and have it tailored. They talked me through what the tailoring options would be for each of my top choices, even making some great creative suggestions for more stylistic alterations. They'll be honest with you about whether the sample size you are getting will work for you (and your body type and size). I also really appreciated how much these ladies know about wedding dresses! They see it all and they know the trends, the ins and outs of different designers, etc. They also had some great practical advice to take into consideration when it comes to your venue location. I'm pretty sure their advice saved me from making a dress choice that would have been beautiful, but not a good fit for my outdoor venue. They do only take two brides at a time, and it's walk-in only. I was able to pop by in the middle of the day during the week and I didn't have to wait at all either time I went. My guess is it might be busier on the weekends, but if that's the case, they take your number and text you when it's your turn. There are multiple coffee shops nearby to chill at (and a West Elm to browse around) to kill time if there is a wait on a busy day. Honestly, I recommend all brides check this place out once you have a sense of the style you want. Even if you aren't on a budget. I was about to buy a dress that was a fair bit more money and found one in a similar style that I liked even better, at a much lower price point. I got my dress here in Jan 2019. The ladies who worked there were all helpful and patient as I tried on dresses. There is great selection of gowns at reduced prices. I was told that they disclosed all the issues with the dress at purchase. The straps were dirty and there was a tear in the fabric. I was told it was a "simple fix" but when I sent a picture to the recommended tailor I was quoted $200+ to fix it. I ended up getting connected to a friend who was able to fix it and not charge me as much. When I reached out to the store, they were responsive. The straps did not come clean, and the bodice of the dress had stains. I unfortunately had to wear it with stains. The day I purchased my dress I had two options--a re-sale dress website (in new condition and cheaper) or Glamour Closet. I wanted to support Glamour Closet because my experience shopping was great. The dress ended up being a major stress for me. If you buy from Glamour Closet, I recommend very thoroughly examining the dress before making your purchase. YES, we found the dress for my daughter a few months ago, and YES, we had an AMAZING experience here at Glamour closet, which is why I have recommended them to my friends, however, my review is not about finding the dress but rather something that occurred much later. I have thought a lot about this review and if I should even post it, because I do not want to send the wrong message regarding the stores refund policy. The day we were at Glamour Closet and found THE dress, Rachel, the manager at the time put a Carolina Herrera Veil on my daughter. It was such a special moment to see her as a bride, that no-one at the moment realized that the veil should not have been sold. We talked about it becoming a family Heirloom since Carolina Herrera no longer makes wedding attire, and I was overjoyed at the idea. Fast forward a few months, and we go see the BEST wedding alteration specialist: Anita , AKA: Fairy Godmother, who made us call Glamour closet immediately because she believed it had to have been sold to us in error. Debbie, who had been there the day we bought the dress, immediately acted on it! They called everyone of their stores looking for another Carolina Herrera Veil for us and I was just so sad and mortified that this could potentially be a HUGE expensive mistake. Debbie sent me pictures of the closest match she had and was very honest that because it was a true Ivory, it would not go with the dress, however, she held it for a few days in the event we wanted it. My husband drove over there late Saturday knowing it is a busy day for them and we did not want to take time from any bride or sale the store could make, and with so much heartache left the Veil behind for a full credit. The store has a very strict policy, "All sales are final" "There are NO refunds or Exchanges" and IF I thought for one second it was just an oversight on our part, I would have had to accept it. The sale of the Veil was clearly an error, a complete oversight by EVERYONE involved and Glamour Closet recognized this and handled this situation with grace and Professionalism! Debbie has been beyond AMAZING!!!!!!! She went as far as to give me her personal cell # to make sure we could communicate effectively during this process, and even texted me back after hours! Glamour Closet is not your normal wedding dress store that can order what you like, If you like a dress, you buy it right there and then! Because they are considered a sample dress, many may have minor scuffs or damage that will need to be repaired, so it is important to look over the dress to make sure you are ok with it. I highly recommend Glamour closet to all brides as your final last look! You may not find the one for you there, but at least you will leave knowing the one you last saw you were 90% sure about.... now THAT was the one for you! Glamour Closet is a sample wedding dress store that offers "off the rack at prices 25% to 75% off" UNLESS you buy a Joanna August gown. If you buy a Joanna August gown, you are paying full price for a dress that has been sitting on their racks, has been handled and tried on by many other brides, but by their definition is "not a sample gown". In fact, they are the only gowns in their store that are "not a sample". It is an expception in thier store and that they work hard to hide it from you. As I was checking out, I asked my sales consultant if Glamour Closet offered a discount for the defects in the dress that she was pointing out. She assured me that those defects were already factored into the price. When I got home and looked up my dress, I found out that was not the case. I could have purchased a flawless dress from the designer that would need fewer alterations for the exact same price, and I found this very upsetting. When I called the manager, she explained to me that Joanna August provides dresses to their store directly because they are an exclusive retailer, and for that reason, the Joanna August dresses are more like dresses you would find in a Nordstrom or any other retail store. Conviently, they were only willing to share that information from me AFTER I bought the dress. When I questioned the manager about why they didn't tell me that, she said it was becasues otherwise they would never sell any Joanna August dresses. She also tried to justify the pricing by saying "just imagine how you would feel about the dress if you never looked up the price". She couldn't seem to understand, or more likely did not care, that's not about the price for me, it's about how I felt when I realized that I had been duped. I just don't see how the pricing of the Joanna August dresses in this store is fair and I feel decieved. In fact, I think the "not sample" dresses being priced the same as the new, made to order dresses is evidence of intentional deceit. Everytime I look at or think about the dress that I bought I'm reminded of how exploited I felt by Glamour Closet when I realized what they had sold me. I'm so beyond dissapointed in every single person that I dealt with in the store for the lies that they told me and the truths that they hid from me. Glamour Closet isn't the store for me. My experience here was so-so. It's a good store if you're very interested in designer dresses at more affordable price points. I called ahead of time to see about how much the bridal dresses cost here (my budget is very small) and was assured they had a lot of options. However, after coming in to the store, I didn't find that many dresses lower than $1000. But, this is a great place to look if your budget is around $1500-$3000. FYI this place does not take appointments. They're a walk-in "warehouse" store where you browse the racks for yourself. Found metered street parking around the corner from the store. What a place, what a discount, what a dress! I heard about this place several years ago and when my sister got engaged, I suggested that we check this place out. It was the first stop for bridal gown shopping, so she intended to just look around and try on a few dresses to get an idea of what she liked. We were the first customers there one Saturday when they opened for the day. The ladies gave my sister the run down on how the shop worked. She received a few colored clips that she was instructed to place on the dresses that she wanted to try on. After we looked through the rows of heavily discounted designer dresses of all types - trumpet, ball gown, a-line, fitted, sheath - she made some decisions and headed to the fitting rooms. After trying on a few dresses, she realized that perhaps she needed to rethink the style of dress that she wanted. Debbie was assisting her and at one point, she said that she'd be right back. She came back with a gorgeous, unique gown! When my sister tried it on, she loved it. And she bought it, right then, on the spot. Thanks to Debbie for all of her kindness and helpfulness. We had such a pleasant experience at Glamour Closet and to know that they donate a portion of their proceeds to Parkinson's Disease research makes me love this place even more! On a whim, I decided to visit Glamour Closet as they are on a first-come, first-serve walk-in only basis and figured if they were busy, I could swing by another time to check out their inventory. This was my third time trying on dresses and I had an idea of what I was looking for, but didn't have any expectations of finding a dress during my visit. I showed up around 12:30pm on a Saturday and there was no wait (most likely since it was lunch time). Debbie greeted me at the door where she took my temperature, gave me some hand sanitizer, and explained how their process works. I signed in at the front desk and was able to browse all the dresses on the racks--Debbie explained how the dresses were sorted by silhouette as well. I initially picked maybe 4 or 5 dresses to try on, and she would take them off the rack and place them in my dressing room. The try-on process was straightforward: I slipped into the dress, said when I was ready so I could be zipped up, and then do any clipping if needed. Debbie also pulled some dresses from the racks for me to try on based on the ones we had tried previously and I never felt pressured into making a purchase. I will disclose that no one else came in the entire time I was there, so I can't comment on any experiences if the shop was busier. That being said, if you're looking for a quieter experience, I would probably suggest visiting during peak lunch hours. My favorite thing about my visit that I felt I never got at my other two appointments is Debbie could tell when a dress just didn't suit my body and was very observant of my mood/reaction while in a dress, which I feel speaks to her experience. My other two consultants from my previous appointments were nice, but didn't really have any helpful feedback for me. I loved having Debbie as my consultant and felt we were on the same page the whole time; she was able to give me great feedback which, as someone who can be indecisive, made the whole process enjoyable & stress-free for me. I was incredibly lucky to find my dream dress that ended up being very different from what I thought I wanted, which was a Spring 2018 Carolina Herrera that was brand new and still had the original tags, hanger, sash, and garment bag at 74% off retail price. My budget was $3k and I ended up coming in at $900 under my budget, so all in all a win-win for me! I'm so glad I decided to stop by and I cannot thank Debbie enough for the amazing service she provided that day. read more

Horrible location. Located on a busy intersection of La Brea and 3rd street. This place is pretty busy on the weekends. The store has a huge inventory of wedding dresses. Most of them are nice. Prices ranged from the low $600 to the high $2000! What I didn't like about this place was that you couldn't take the wedding dresses off the hook to look at. When I did so, I was yelled at. The racks are already jam packed with dresses so it's almost like an arm workout moving all the dresses out of the way so you can catch of glimpse of the one you want to look at. geesh. Out of the three wedding dress stores I went to, Glamour Closet is my least favorite store. read more

I wish I could have 5 weddings so I could come back 5 times and shop with Holly! After going to 4 different bridal stores in LA with family and friends, I stumbled on GC. I was surprised by how many rules there are when wedding dresses shopping at the other bridal boutiques. Holly made the process so much fun even though I came solo and she patiently helped me find my dream dress. If you are looking to try on a lot of different designer dresses...this place is ideal! I loved my experience here and will recommend this place to anyone on the hunt for a wedding gown. read more
