Came into this store awhile back to find my wedding dress. Was very disappointed when i walked up to the desk and told them i had an appointment for "Abby". She looked at my mom and asked if i was here for a prom dress fitting? Every girl grows up dreaming of the day she tries on her wedding dress and it was totally ruined by this less than impressive employee. My mom corrected her and said "no she's here for her wedding dress fitting" and the employee is taken back and said "oh okay that's what it says on her appointment details" REALLY????? That completely ruined what was supposed to be one of the best memories I'll have. This is definitely a training opportunity for this employee. I made an online bridal appointment and arrived 10 minutes early. We were checked in then left on our own, so we looked around a bit. A few minutes later, the check-in girl let us know it would be about 5-10 minutes, that our attendant was finishing up with someone. Twenty minutes after my appointment should have started (and 2 calls over the PA system), Rhonda greeted us (no apology for starting late) and we showed her the dresses I liked. She did not ask anything about me or my style, unlike other bridal boutiques that try to get to know you. She pulled the dresses, and went to get me a corset and slip. At no point did I feel excited to be there or welcome. She was more excited to talk to the 15 year olds trying on prom dresses. I felt like a burden to Rhonda and knew I wasn't giving any of my money to this store. I would not recommend David's Bridal to anyone. read more

I got my wedding dress from them and had it altered by their alterations department and I never had a single problem with them. I decided two weeks before my wedding that I wanted a second shorter dress to wear to the reception to dance around in. I walked in knowing that it was going to be close to impossible to get one in such short time, but the new manager (Sarah?) was so awesome and said "we'll make it happen!" She assigned A girl to help me, I believe her name was Shelby, and together they showed me some amazing dresses. I was there with just my grandmother and Shelby kind of acted as a friend when it came to helping me decide! She even found some super cute flats to go with the dress so I wouldn't have to wear my heels all night. 2 for 2 with great experiences with this store! I highly recommend. read more

Unfortunately my sister and my entire family had a horrible experience at David's Bridal. Starting with the manager coming over and telling my sister she had too many dresses for her appt. that she scheduled and was only half way thru with. The original lady that was helping us told us to grab any and all the dress (ex: different sizes, shapes, cuts) but once the manager had to send her to help another bride to be- we were stuck with him (manager) and my sister didn't feel comfortable with a guy of course helping her get her dress on. After we told him this our original lady came back and we were relieved and pleased with her. Somehow my sister fell in love with a dress there......and I so wish she hadn't. The first time she went back for her first fitting her sash was literally sewn on crooked, they put the wrong beading on it for the bustle and to top it off they didn't even take in the top as was written down on the sheet. She had a week and a half left before the wedding. She then got a call the Friday before her wedding and her final fitting was cancelled due to one person being sick. We decided to walk into the store Saturday and get the dress. We had a friend finish the work that needed to be done. We also had alteration problems with two of our bridesmaid- we of course bought them at same time bride bought the dress. Point of story- I would never recommend this place to anyone, especially a Bride. read more

I thought I had my mind made up on a dress from somewhere else. I went to my appointment bc I had confirmed it 800 times. Londra was my stylist and she had me try on a dress I hadn't thought I'd be interested in. It was the one! She blinged it up and it looks stunning. She was the only person out of all my dress appointments who didn't ask the cliche "so how did you & your fiancé meet blah" everyone else did. I genuinely had a great afternoon! As a person with a lot of experience in customer service, it takes a lot to upset me as a consumer. I understand when a business is overwhelmed and understaffed, meaning that in most situations when I feel I'm receiving poor service I am able to overlook it. That was NOT the case during my recent interludes at DB in Castleton, IN. My best friend is getting married in August so we began the dress shopping process and because Davids Bridal seems to have cornered the market on affordable dresses, that's where we found ourselves. Upon showing up promptly to our appointed consultation time slot we were rudely greeted, we're talking complete with eye rolls and audible sighs, at the door and asked to wait for our consultant. Half an hour later an employee approached us with the list of dresses we had picked out via the internet and asked if we could get things moving by hunting through the inventory for the dresses ourselves. After finding what we could we proceeded to the dressing room, where as a clueless MOH it became my sole responsibility to fit the bride in the dresses, which were all in terrible shape (missing buttons and snaps and ragged and torn). Upon deciding on the perfect dress, minus the appointed consultant we waited until well after closing for our turn to check out. We left that night completely bummed that shopping for the perfect wedding dress was such an anticlimactic event. Bridal party vs Davids Bridal Part II Once again arriving promptly on time for our alterations appointment at DB we found ourselves waiting over an hour before the alterationist was actually available to do the fitting. After failing to discuss options with the bride or taking heed to the wants and concerns of the bride, or even being able to offer a reasonable time frame in which to complete the alterations (it was discussed that 8 weeks would be needed) it was decided we would best be served taking the dress off-site to be fitted . The Final Round Unable to control my fumes any longer I have returned home from picking up the bridal gown and closing the door for the last time on DB. This afternoon I walked into the store and after standing around for 15 minutes was finally asked "what do you need?" by a staff member. I mentioned that I was picking up a dress for a bride, that was not me, and the associate left to find the dress in the back. Thirty minutes later, she returns from the store room to inform me that there is no dress in the store for my bride and the only thing that had been ordered were bridesmaids dresses and those had been picked-up. I politely reassured her that I was present when the bride bought the dress and for the failed fitting the week before and was confident that the dress was in the store. Looking me straight in the eye, the associate pursed her lips and told me that she had checked and the dress wasn't there, then moved on to the next customer! I followed her and asked if she thought that that was an acceptable solution to our problem only to be met with more attitude. Finally, after suggesting she take a fellow associate to look with her, the sales associate returned with the dress reprimanding me that I didn't tell her it was being held in the alterations area ( because apparently I should have been familiar with company policies and procedures). I left the store with the dress wrapped in plastic, as I was denied a garment bag, and the satisfaction of knowing that when it's my turn to get married I would sew my own dress by hand before returning to David's Bridal. read more

Planning a wedding is hard enough without having to deal with this laughable excuse for a bridal shop. I have dealt with people inviting whoever they want to our wedding, girls mad about not being in the wedding party...I'm even planning a wedding from across the country... but having to deal with David's Bridal is by far the WORST part of the wedding planning process. I have bridesmaids all across the country, and despite the horrible reputation of David's Bridal- I thought it would be the easiest way for all 7 of my girls to get their dresses. I purchased my dress at a boutique shop... I wouldn't have even entertained the idea of buying a wedding gown from these people. So... we were told that we should purchase our dresses at least 6 months in advance (in case they become discontinued). We listened...and purchased late November. My maid of honor has recently found out that she is pregnant, and we are within 6 weeks of the wedding. She contacted David's Bridal in Castleton and was told "sorry, we don't do exchanges". I called right after that and was told that she didn't have the authority to make such a decision, and I would need to talk with a manager. She also said that she had taken down my MOH's contact information and their assistant manager, Rebecca, would contact us later in the day. Four days later...no phone call. I called that day and talked to Rebecca, Assistant Manager. She told me that she would need to have alterations look at the dress to examine it's condition before authorizing an exchange, but she couldn't authorize an exhange over the phone. Meanwhile, the store manager, Michelle, was talking into her ear saying that there was probably no way that they would make an exchange since it had been so long. I asked what the difference was if the dress was unworn, kept in plastic, and in the same condition as when it left her store. She sounded dumbfounded... she replied that it had just been a long time. Translation: She does not have a valid excuse to give me such a ridiculous answer. I told her that I would have my MOH bring the dress into the store and they could look at it, and that I would contact their corporate office to discuss this matter if they did not authorize an exchange. She said that was fine and gave me the contact information for their corporate office. Today, my MOH contacted the store and was told that she didn't even need to bring the dress in, and there was not way they would let her exchange the dress. I plan to write this review on EVERY wedding board and review site I can find in hopes of preventing another bride from making the same mistake that I did. I understand that David's Bridal operates under a "no returns" policy, but it is bad business to operate as they ladies are. A pregnant bridesmaid with an unaltered, unworn dress is a special circumstance, and David's Bridal response toward us is unforgivable and unacceptable. I have read on some message boards many situations regarding David's Bridal where they did allow a pregnant bridesmaid to exchange a dress, so perhaps I should only direct this review toward the Castleton location. read more

This will be the last place I consider when looking for my wedding dress and bridesmaid's dresses. Sorry, but sometimes the truth hurts. I not only received horrible customer service over the phone, but had the same experience in person. When I walk in, I would like to be acknowledged in some form or fashion. I realize that it gets busy (as with every other business), but for me to stand for nearly 15 minutes without a simple "Can I help you?" - well, that's just ridiculous. When I was finally paired with someone to help me with my bridesmaid dress sizing, the lady took me to a dressing room, I tried on the dress and then was just left there to fend for myself. So -- I'm not going to help get sized? When she finally came back, she was literally just going to guess what my size was without actually measuring me. Um, that's not going to fly. If I'm going to pay nearly $180 for a bridesmaid dress, I want to be measured. So when I insisted that I get measured, guess what happened - the size didn't match up to her original guess. Pretty sure that's why I came there in the first place - to get measured. Anyway, hopefully others have a better experience here than I did. :) read more

Horrible experience , first time I came I did not have an appointment but someone said it was ok to look around so I could get an idea of what I wanted then this lady I think was the manager was very rude because I was touching a gown and she was very mad and I had to put it back , and then she told me to make an appointment so I did and the time I came back thinking it was going to be different because I saw I dress I fell in love with that's why I came back , I was supposed to have an assigned stylist with me at all times and I only saw her from the beginning and never again , I had questions and no one could answer cause the other person that was there to help me had no clue . I am very disappointed on this store I didn't end up buying my dress . If they know they will be busy they should have enough staff .... waste of time . read more

One of the rudest and worst places in terms of customer service. I would definitely rate a 0 if I could. They are not accommodating and were rude the entire time we were there. Never returning to this location, which sucks because I really liked some of the dresses I saw. I hate that this experience will always stick with me and leave me wondering if my dream dress was there all along. Would rate a 0 if possible and advise others not to return. Highly suggest visiting Gretchen's Bridal! I went there after this terrible experience and they had amazing customer service and were very accommodating!!! I had a wonderful experience at David's. I ended up with a Vera Wang gown that is just gorgeous! Pam, the store manager, helped me and she was very friendly and knowledgeable. I ended up with two gowns (my wedding dress and a shorter one for the honeymoon), a bra, a slip, a sash, a veil, and the preservation package. I would recommend David's to anyone. I am surprised they have such a low rating. Most of my friends who have gotten married recently went to David's and had a very positive experience. read more

Eh. I have never been impressed with Davids Bridal. I think they lack the customer service that is needed in the bridal industry. My first experience with them was last summer with my best friend. She was looking for her bridal gown and the lady that was helping her was not very attentive and didn't seem to understand the style she was looking for. She ended up getting her gown elsewhere. A few weeks later, I went in to order my bridesmaid dress and shoes. The dress ordering was simple but picking out shoes was a disaster. I needed shoes that were dyeable. I picked out a pair of shoes and one associate told me they were dyeable and walked away. Another associate walked by and told that they were not dyeable. I finally had to take the pair up to the front desk and ask the manager. The shoes were not dyeable. I ended up finding a pair that would work but I wasted a half hour dealing with associates that were not knowledgeable. My second experience was this past September when I was looking for my bridal gown (Yay!) I made an appointment, showed up 15 minutes early and stood in line....and waited...and stood in line some more. Finally I get to the sign in desk and the lady says "do you have an appointment?" in a very i-hate-my-job kind of tone. Great start to my appointment! I was told to look around while I waited for my consultant. 10 minutes later, she shows up and starts pulling dresses. She takes me to the dressing room and leaves. She did not help me get into any of my dresses, my sister had to zip, tie and clip me into every single dress I tried on. My consultant would come back just in time to place another dress in the dressing room and listen to me tell her everything I did not like about the current dress. All the while she had another bride-to-be that she was "helping". I was not impressed with any of the dresses I tried on nor was I impressed with the level of customer service I received here. There are so many other bridal stores in the Indianapolis area, please go somewhere else and save yourself a headache. You are a bride searching for your dream dress, go somewhere that you will treated as a bride should be treated. read more

AWFUL. As much as I knew that DB was probably too good to be true (cute styles at low prices) I decided to try it out anyway. For starters, the cuts might look cute on the website but the materials are incredibly cheap and they look cheap in person. But my main problem with this place is the HORRIBLE service. My MOH and I were asked to pull the dresses ourselves with NO assistantance, we received ZERO suggestions, no help getting in or out of the dresses, nothing. My bridal "consultant" and her trainee just seemed very dimwitted. Or perhaps they were wondering why someone from LA was tyring on wedding dresses at a DB in Indiana....Actually, that's a damn good question. read more

I had a small budget (under $300), and there was a half of a rack of dresses to choose from. I was only there for 12 min and tried nothing on. If I could give this place zero stars, I would. As someone who is in recovery from an eating disorder, I expected to enter this place being valued and treated respectfully as I was getting my dress altered for my big day. Instead, the lady doing the alterations stated, without prompting that at least "If you are this big now, your dress will stretch out for your wedding day." I was infuriated and honestly it nearly caused me to stumble in my recovery. The least a bride looks for is to be lifted up and helped to feel positive about her beauty and worth before her big day. The employees of the Davids Bridal in Indianapolis are just plain rude. I had an appointment from 4:30 to 6 to try on wedding dresses and wasn't actually helped by anyone until 5 after asking what was going on repeatedly. Everyone had to take their break at the same time cutting my time short since they closed at 6. After picking out the dresses I wanted to try on I was sure to count them and make sure I knew how many I wanted to try on since I knew they were going to rush me. Well sure enough they tried to cut out 2 of my dresses not thinking I would notice and when I mentioned that I had two more she knew exactly which ones they were without me saying another word! Also while trying on dresses one lady kept coming by and asking what time it was as to remind my guests and I that it was getting close to being time to leave which was very rude since it was their fault my appointment was cut short in the first place! I had fell in love with one dress and had a close second and the employee helping me was rude enough to make the comment "well you already have your second dress picked out if this wedding doesn't work out." If I wouldn't have fell in love with the dress I had choose here than I would have never bought a dress from this place just for the fact of how poorly my guests and I were treated. And I already regret buying my dress from Davids Bridal because I am still having problems till this day! My dress was delivered recently and when pulling it out of the package it was missing beads and had loose strings everywhere. I was literally disgusted after seeing the amount of problems and knowing how much I paid for this dress that when I tried on was flawless. When contacting the David's Bridal in Indianapolis they said I would have to take it in to only them no other Davids Bridal and they will let me know if they can fix the problems without charging me... I had a party fundraiser to attend and ten of us all guys went in to buy a dress. I know this is not the usual client, but how easy to put ten guys in a $200-300 dress and be done. No we were treated like shit!!! Then Told they just couldn't help us. Well I'm here to tell you the bridal outlet in castleton was so helpful and friendly. They even took pictures! I had planned a big bridal dress shopping weekend in Chicago that had fallen through. I was really upset, one of my friends said we should go look locally. We walked in on a Saturday at 11am to David's without an appointment. We were greeted with enthusiasm and were quickly paired up with Katie, who was super spectacular. I am tall and plus size and in general hard to fit. She didn't hesitate trying to find dresses that worked for me. I had originally wanted a tea length dress. We are getting married in Vegas so that fits the theme. I tried on all the tea length dresses they had and found one I loved. Katie and my friend encouraged me to try on one out of my comfort zone. I tried on a drop waste ball gown and almost fell over. I felt so pretty. My mind was changed. Katie went above and beyond and found me the perfect ball gown. I feel so beautiful and like a bride. It was an amazing experience. I was able to walk out of David's with my dress, veil and headpiece in hand. I have never felt so beautiful. I know what people expect when it comes to David's. I walked in there with low expectations and was blown away. Everyone there was wonderful. Don't write this place off. Thank you Katie! read more

This place is horrible! I shopped there 6 years ago to help my sister find a wedding dress and she found one she loved but didn't buy it beause the service is awful and the staff is RUDE! It's nice to be greeted with "Do you have an appointment" (in a rude tone) instead of "Hi, how can we help you?" Someone who has been dress shopping before might know that it helps to make an appointment, but those who don't, have no clue! Now my best friend is wedding dress shopping and I warned her not to go there, especially without an appointment. She chose dresses on the online search they have and they were supposed to have them ready when she went in to try them on. It wasn't a big shock to me when they didn't! Then we were stuck with a staff member who clearly didn't care about helping and who was rarely there to help. The only reason my friend decided to go back is because they only carry the dress that she loved at David's. She called back to schedule a new appointment and then they didn't have her in the system as having scheduled that appointment. Yet another SHOCKER!!! She had them schedule another one, and they sent her the wrong time. At this point I would NEVER go back no matter how much I loved the dress. DON'T GO HERE!! If I could give this store a zero star rating, I would. When we first went to the David's Bridal on 82nd Street in Indianapolis, it was packed with customers. We were told "We can't help you now. Make an appointment and come back." So we scheduled an appointment, found a few dresses my daughter wanted to try later and had the associate record the numbers for our appointment. On our appointment day, a different associate entered my daughter's information but "sorry," she couldn't find any of the dress numbers we had left. We were told "Just go look at the racks and you'll find something." So we started from scratch. Our assigned assistant told us to pick ONLY five dresses because "all brides find their dress in the first couple anyway." She obviously didn't want to pull any more. My daughter was given a filthy strapless bra in the "sorry" wrong size to use under the gowns. After trying on several dresses, my daughter found "the one." So we went to look at bridesmaids dresses, and though we got NO help whatsoever, we found one. When I went to the counter to order and pay, the horror really began. "Sorry" but that bridesmaid dress was discontinued. "Sorry," but stores won't cross-ship. "Sorry," but none in the right size could be located. "Sorry," but if we ordered the wrong size, it wasn't returnable. We were told to "just pick something else." I said no. When I tried to order the bride's gown, I was told "Sorry," but alterations would cost an undetermined amount averaging $300, and I should also buy a dress bag (another $12). Fine. When she rang up the dress (without the advertised 10% off), I realized that the price was actually too low. "Sorry," but she had ordered and rung up THE WRONG DRESS!! If I hadn't caught the mistake, my daughter wouldn't get her gown in time for her wedding! The sales assistant who "helped" us said, "Sorry, but I made the mistake because I was busy working with another bride." Like that made it okay. I said, "I don't care that you're all sorry. This has been a horrible experience from start to finish on what should have been one of the happiest days of my daughter's life!" The manager said, "well, I gave you 25% off," (which was really only 15% because of the sale), as though that excused their complete ineptitude and ruining a once-in-a-lifetime experience. IT'S NOT ABOUT MONEY!! I am the one who is "sorry" that I ever went to this store. read more

We were on the hunt for a wedding dress for our wedding that is in 5 weeks. We didn't love anything we found previously so we thought it would be a good idea to check our local David's Bridal. We called early in the day to see if an appointment was required and they said no, walk in's are fine. We arrived around 2 and the shop was pretty empty with a bunch of employees standing around. We began to look around and found a few things we wanted to try on. An employee (Manny) found us as we were still looking through the racks and told us that if we wanted to try something on we would have to schedule an appointment and come back another day, as they were very busy and booked for the day. I looked around the shop and there were only 2 parties in the whole place, plenty of dressing rooms available, and plenty of employees standing around. We continued to look through the racks and when a beautiful and kind young woman named Alana asked if we needed a fitting room. She instantly put us in a dressing room and checked back after we were clearly interested in one of our selections. We decided to purchase the dress and due to the time constraint, we decided to purchase the one we tried on rather than ordering online. Alana took the dress back and to alterations to cut off any snags and ensure it looked beautiful. She even asked her manager to provide a small discount since the dress had been off the rack. We are so appreciative of Alana and recommend asking for her if you're considering going to this location. Overall our experience balanced out. read more

One star may even be too much. The employees weren't helpful or friendly and they knowingly withheld information. I bought two different dresses over the phone. Before I purchased I told the employee that I was buying both but only needed one so I was going to try them both on and return the one I liked the least. Her response was "oh perfect!" When I went to return it, I couldn't because they "don't accept returns." I clearly wouldn't have bought two dresses had I known one couldn't be returned. I came in here yesterday just to take a look at what they had. Off the bat, the 3 ladies at the front reception desk were pretty rude and didn't seem like they wanted to talk to us at all. I looked through their gallery of dresses and didn't find anything that stood out to me. They all seemed pretty cheaply made in comparison to what I had been looking at before. We also looked at bridesmaid dresses. Word of warning, the color chart looks NOTHING like the actual color of the dresses. What looked like a pretty, soft blue on the chart was actually a very gaudy blue when we found a dress that came in that color. Will not be returning here. read more

I went to David's Bridal for an alteration appointment. When I was going to pay, I was told the price would be even more than what I was originally told. I was so shocked and frustrated that I had to step outside to get some fresh air. After I came back in Clint, the Store Manager, spoke to me apologized for the confusion and offered to lower the price to what the original estimate was. This was extremely nice and helpful of him. I was so relieved...it made my day! read more
