I brought all of my bridesmaids to David's Bridal to pick out their dresses, we didn't have great appointment, but also not a horrible one. We had minimal customer service, but I did get the feeling the lady helping us was annoyed that I would not be trying on any wedding dresses as I had already ordered mine from Swoon (best place ever, you all need to go there!). We were told to come back a 4 months before the wedding to order the dresses. My sister in law went in to order her dress and tried on a size 8, it was a bit loose, but overall seemed to be a good size. It was also the size they suggested the first time we tried dresses on several months before. The lady then measured my her just to be sure and said that she measured as a size 10 and they really needed to order from the book, not based on trying something on. She said that the dress could have stretched out a bit from so many people trying it on. I was not sold on this as the 8 was already a bit big, but she stuck to what she thought and we ordered the 10. Guess what, the 10 was huge on her! It came as no surprise to us and honestly the sales women who were there weren't surprised either. I really think the first lady (who wasn't there the day the dress arrived) had us order big so that we would have to pay for alterations. It was frustrating to say the least. Fortunately the ladies who were there that day helped order a new dress in the size 8 and checked to make sure it would arrive on time. I surely hope it does, but I suppose time will tell. Seems that is measuring girls is a key part of your job you should have more knowledge on it as my sister in law was measured wrong and advised to purchase a dress we knew wouldn't fit. Customer service no matter what a person is looking for would also be nice. read more

I'm a fan of this place! My review is not for bridal wear, only evening event dress shopping. After searching all over town for a dress for an evening event to no avail, I came here on a Tuesday evening right after work, just a couple of days before my event. I grabbed 6 or 7 dresses and they set up a dressing room right away for me. There are no mirrors inside the actual room, you must come out and use a large mirror just outside of the dressing room. There was a clerk, I wish I remembered to get her name, waiting to zip me up right there and then. After trying on several dresses, she offered suggestions, her opinion, and she grabbed additional dresses for me and I found a dress that I loved and fit well. All of this took place in less than 20 minutes. When I went to pay, I found that the dress I had chosen happened to be on clearance and was an additional 50 % off. Phew! All the way around. I'm too busy to spend days and days searching for dresses and loved that I saved more money than I had expected to. The same thing happened last year, making me wonder why I didn't start with them first the first time. read more

I was treated so terribly at this store. It was my first time going to any bridal store. I wasn't aware that I needed an appointment. The woman talked down to me like I was a young child because she couldn't believe that I thought I could just walk in. She said they had an earlier "no-show" so I could look, "but not for too long because there was someone on the way that actually made an appointment." I'm not shaped like normal girls so she loudly said that they wouldn't have a bra that would fit me and then she yelled to another worker across the store: "she says she's a 20...grab a 22 or 24." Humiliating!! I'm so SAD that this was my first experience shopping for such an important item. I will NEVER recommend this store to anyone. I don't know how they stay in business. read more

This is my first review ever, but I feel it necessary to get the word out. There's a reason this place is only rated 2.5 stars. I tried to return a bridesmaid dress after the wedding had been called off.( within 30 days, still in the bag, takes attached) These employees had no compassion at all, saying "all sales are final, you signed the receipt" they said the best they could do was let me exchange for some accessories. Oh goodie!!! Cups, and tank tops that say BRIDE all over them! I'm now the proud owner of a bride shot glass, coffee cup, and water glass. go me. Oh and wedding shoes. So just remember when shopping at David's bridal all sales are final (small print). read more

Be aware that if you order a dress here in your size you are locked in and buying the dress sight unseen, no refund will be given. I visited the store June 10th and tried on several dresses. They understandably have limited sizes/colors in stock, so you end up trying on dresses that are not your size. I found a dress that I thought I would like, but the one I tried on was maybe 4 sizes too big and I was clipped into it. I ordered it in my size and waited for it to come in. They called on June 29th to let me know it had arrived. When I tried it on it was just not a good dress for me (the neckline was very unflattering and the bigger one I had tried on had all this extra fabric that totally changed to way the neckline draped). I took it to my seamstress to see if she could work some magic, but she pointed out that it wouldn't look right to change the neckline and also that the seam at the waist was uneven and would need to be fixed. At this point, less than two hours after picking up the dress, I decided to return it. They had mentioned a seven day return policy earlier that day, and I thought with two hours, I would have no problem. I came back to the store and I was told that the seven day return window was from the date I placed the order, not the date I received the merchandise. So, I would have had to do the return by June 17th, which was 12 days before the dress could even be seen physically. They did give me store credit, but I had no idea when I placed the order that I wouldn't be able to change my mind. It is totally unfair to force people into a purchase when they're basing their decision on a dress that is four sizes too big and clipped in to look flattering. They tell me it was listed in the fine print on the receipt, but if this is the policy I would think they would let people know verbally before placing the order. Naturally, one would assume it would be seven days from receipt, not from order date. I will say, the sales associate helping me was very helpful and pleasant. Worst experience I've ever had. I went to get some help to buy a wedding dress and pretty much got ditched. The place had a few women working with NO appointments and still couldn't get anyone to help me out for a min. The front desk girl was useless, asked if I had an appointment I said no and that's where she left it. Had 8g on me ready to buy and took my business somewhere else. This place is a joke. If it wasn't for convenience I don't think they would be in business any more. I knew that my dress would need to be altered but there was no way I would pay for a "rush" with 4 weeks left before the wedding. Not to mention their prices are ridiculously overpriced. I paid $200 for a dress I'll never wear again. When I took it to my seamstress today we discovered a hole in the bottom of the dress at the hem and the neckline of the halter was off by A QUARTER INCH! Are you flipping kidding me??! So now I'm paying to have a brand new dress fixed on top of the other alterations. I will never come back to David's Bridal and I will never refer anyone here. Your products are inferior and cheaply made. You should be ashamed of yourselves. read more

Terrible experience! I made an appointment and when I walked in it was super busy! Ok that's fine. My stylist told me to look around and pick some I liked. I had no idea where my styles were and had a hard time. She found me again and asked me what I wanted and I told her. She brought several dresses but none were what I wanted. I kept telling her I didn't want that type of skirt but she didn't listen. I clearly didn't know what I wanted, but I knew what I didn't. I expected her to help and throw some new ideas out but she didn't. After a while she disappeared and only came back to check on me. I ended up leaving and she was nowhere in sight. Now I had gone in like 6 months before just for "fun" because it was still a bit early to be dress shopping. This woman (I forgot her name) set us up and brought me beautiful dresses! I liked pretty much all of them! She was awesome! I almost bought a dress that day and it was my first time ever looking at dresses. I wish she would have helped me the second time. read more

I have had the greatest experience today! :D As its only been a couple of months since I have been engaged I wasnt sure what it would be as an experience to look for a dress... to tell you the truth I was very nervous about it and not sure what to think. My mother in law told me that there was a sale going on at Davids Bridal so we decided to go and check it out to see if I could find the dress for me. As we got there and walked in it was a little bit busy, but they greated me right away! They asked what I came in for and I told them for the sale and also for a dress that I have viewed on their website. They took it down and even though I was a walk- in I got an appointment within minutes! Even though the sale rack wasn't really... well the best... I was able to find other sales going on through the dresses and even on the back wall. I EVEN FOUND THE DRESS I WANTED TO TRY THAT WAS ONLINE! :D I was so super stoked about it and I also got showed some other dresses that I could be interested in and would never think of trying before. Through this whole process the lady who helped me was Kimberly. She has helped me before with looking at dresses for other occasions and she is the best ever!! She took patience with me to find the under garments, getting dresses I think would be perfect and being next to me during the whole process. She even told me some wonder history stories of meanings for the vails and so many other things that I loved to hear! :) She made me feel so special and asked me every question that would help me to be happy with the dress. After trying all of them on and getting dolled up I found out that the one I saw online was my DRESS!!!! She then gave me the bell to ring to make a wish and tell the store to celebrate with me as I found my dress. I never felt so happy and got so many compliments from people :))) Kimberly was the best person for me and I couldn't find the best time for me to find my dress and get the experience I have always wanted! I am a bride-to-be and came to David's Bridal in search of *the* dress. I already have 2 back-up dresses and a rehearsal dress. I was prompted to come in via email for a $99 dress sale and decided to press my luck - come in to look JUST IN CASE I happened to find something (anything... a veil, shoes, jewelry, a garter...maybe?) But lo and behold I FOUND *THE* DRESS. The sales associate ladies were nice when they opened the door at promptly 11am (my mom and I were early and waited with a group of other people for about 5-10 minutes in the wind). We browsed for a mere 2 minutes before we dove in and asked about the advertised dress sale. We were led to the rack and just had at it - no pestering, no questions, no hovering, no hassle... if we needed help, they were gladly willing to if we asked. We scooped up three dresses and asked for a dressing room (after being asked if we had an appointment). At this point I was hesitant about how positively or nicely we would be handled after reading some nightmare reviews online about "big-chain wedding retailers." Get this: we didn't have an appointment but I was still offered assistance (getting in and out of the dress or for buttoning/zipping) AND undergarments and heels/shoes to borrow. I just needed shoes (don't forget to bring your garb if you're trying stuff on, ladies! I looked flat-chested without my proper undergarments but *the* dress still flattered and made me glow). I tried the other dresses and was checked up on after each dress - to check the fit, fix the hems, and hide the tags for proper phone snapshots). When I had put the dresses back on their hangers and bags, *the* dress was carefully brought to the front while I did one last sweep over the rack. At the front, I paid for my dress, gave my name and fiancé's name and other wedding details, then was surprised with a goodie bag FULL of stuff: coupons for my bridesmaids' dresses, a Men's Warehouse zine with coupons for him and his groomsmen, toothpaste samples, a set of false lashes, two coupons for my mom and future mother-in-law for their dresses, the latest David's catalog, two color palette cards so my groom and I can match colors for the wedding party, a magazine that helps with picking items for the gift registry and other handy things an upcoming bride would need. Ashley, the front clerk, also offered me a storage bag for $10.95 (which I bought so my dress will be kept safe for the next 12 months). Additionally, since I won't be using the coupons now-now (my needs for wedding shopping won't truly kick in until spring/summer next year), I was told I could exchange my vouchers for the ones valid next year if I don't get to use them before the end of this year. Much gratitude all around.). Smiles, a neat selection of novelty items, *THE* dress and a bag full of goodies. All within 20 minutes. I will be back for my bridesmaids and alterations! Brought in my bridesmaid dress to be tailored and on the second appointment I was told I had to lose 2 inches on my waist and my dress could not be let out. Lost 2 inches and my dress doesn't fit and the tailoring job was absolutely terrible. Now I have to be pinned into my dress for the wedding day. I came in on last Tuesday evening to begin my wedding dress shopping journey. I wasn't fully expecting to find a dress on my first outing. I came in looking for a vintage dress and I had a couple of styles that I knew I didn't want. I met with Amber and I tried on multiple dresses including a style I thought I didn't want. I ended up falling in love with how I looked in a strapless dress, (which was one of the styles I thought I didn't want) Amber did an amazing job helping me with accessories. She really made my experience at David's Bridal 5 stars. She told me the tradition of veils and it was very heart warming as well as doing my hair in a cute little up-do. LOVE this place! I got married in Reno three days ago (Tuesday, December 10), we traveled from Sacramento, so it's a good two hours. My wedding was at 6:00 pm and we arrived in Reno at 1:00 pm- as soon as we arrived, I realized I forgot my dress at home. YIKES! We didn't want to press our luck and attempt to make the drive home and back as we'd really be pressed for time having still needed to do my hair and make up.... We searched the nearest Kohl's for something nice for me to wear as the wedding dress I was going with wasn't a 'traditional' gown anyhow, yet still elegant and white. I couldn't find anything. Thankfully my sister called me and said "there's a David's Bridal a few miles away". We rushed to get there and I practically ran in and told the saleswoman my situation and said "I just need something white that fits, GO!!" lol I forget her name because it was such a long and stressful day but she was AMAZING! I didn't even know my size in women's because I shop junior so she looked at me and said, you're probably a 2. She showed me a few dresses and took down, I believe a total of 3 in the size she estimated me to be at, in white and in our price range. She took me to the dressing room and helped me try on the first dress and I was in love. After asking my fiance' what he thought, we quickly agreed it was the one and the saleswoman hauled a** to get it steamed and put together for us. We were in and out in under an hour. We didn't overspend either, it was less than $300 for the beautiful dress. Not bad for the situation we were in. I highly recommend this place, whether it be planed or on a whim ha! After the day was done, we laughed about our situation and agreed that all in all, if the mishap of me forgetting my dress at home HAD to happen, it worked out the best way it could. Honestly, even my husband said that he was happy with the ending because I ended up with a beautiful gown and everyone was complimenting on how beautiful I looked in the dress- and they couldn't believe that I had picked out the dress in the matter of minutes lol Thank you, David's Bridal!! read more

I was very surprised to read other negative reviews; I had a great experience with this store. I originally purchased my DB dress at another store (in a different state) and took it to this one for alterations. I had had concerns that the other store had sold me the wrong size dress, and when I tried on the dress for alterations, my concerns were confirmed. After continuing with the appointment, I left very uneasy and found myself returning about half an hour later to voice my concerns. They were very helpful (I worked with Ashley and Julie mostly), and ended up helping me exchange my dress for the correct size, as well as referring me to a place to find a bustier (I have an unusual size). Although I felt like the crazy bride having a meltdown, they were very comforting and helpful, and in the end it all worked out great. read more

My only recommendation would be for them to put a little into remodeling with better lighting to make the experience more romantic and special. read more

I didn't think this store is by appointment only. I walked in today looking to purchase a wedding dress, I figured on a Thursday afternoon the store wouldn't be too busy, I was right. It was completely dead. I was greeted and asked if I had an appointment, I did not. The lady showed me some dresses and said I could feel free to look around but I couldn't try anything on without an appointment with a stylist. She was rude and looked high out of her mind. She stated that they were booked for the rest of the day. Why would I not want to try something on before purchasing?! Especially something that can tend to be very expensive.
