Visiting family in Alabama and David's was recommended for a dinner. Arrived an hour before closing and was seated quickly. Most of the dinning hall was closed off and the servers were cleaning all around us. The host explained the menu well for us out of towers. Food was decent, nothing really stood out as exceptional. Primary food item is catfish, but they offer steaks and hamburgers as well as lots of side items. The entire staff is very friendly. Delicious! We stopped in on our way to Montgomery and truly enjoyed our food. But, be warned- the sweet tea is SUPER SWEET. I'm a sweet tea enthusiast, but wow. It was good, but sweet enough to have to cut with water. The fried fish was well seasoned and a good portion size. The cheese grits were phenomenal - the best I've had in a very long time. Super creamy and great taste. The hush puppy wasn't the best I've had, but good. Unfortunately they were out of sweet potatoes. My daughter enjoyed her burger and hubby enjoyed his fried shrimp. I positively love David's. It is such a homegrown local staple in Brewton. The service here is always top notch and exemplary. My food is always ready by the time specified when I order to go. Also, the ease of using the drive thru window has made it very easy for me especially with all of these COVID measures. The staff are wearing masks as well. I usually get the grilled chicken tender salad which is always cooked and made to order. I have ordered lemon pepper popcorn shrimp before and it has been tasty as well, but sadly I didn't have a picture of that one. Overall, highly recommend. read more

We ordered by phone on July 16, 2021, like we have done many times before. When we arrived there was a very long line at the drive thru. The line wasn't moving. Finally employees started going car to car to help speed things up. The problem is they went to the back of the line, six cars behind us, rather than take the next car in line. The people at the back of the line got their food relatively quickly. We were 5 cars from the front of the line and by the time we got to the window our food was cold and soggy. $52 for two dinners.....ever eat a soggy shrimp, fish or crab claw? Not good. What a wonderful experience today! Yes, it was as good as it gets! It was my husband Gary's Happy Birthday this day. We got there around 2:30 Tuesday June 5th. We were met promptly at the front entrance and escorted to a very clean and neat booth. We received our drinks, straws, and salads within minutes. We noticed quickly that the pricing was very fair! So, Gary got the "All You Can Eat Popcorn Shrimp" and myself got the "Trio" of Shrimp, Oysters and Catfish. (Hahaha, but I had talked about nothing but Crab Claws the entire time of our 45 minute trip! ) Our order was delivered in half the time it took for us to eat half of our salads. Dang! I thought to myself. Man , the Catfish was fresh crispy, the Oysters was just right and the same for both of our Shrimps! Oh, and the Dill Pickles we found to be better than the Tastie Freeze in Milton! And that's saying a lot! The waitress was so very sweet the entire time and kept the Teas full, and his Shrimps coming fast! Even the owner & manager came to see how everything was while seeing if we needed anything else. And then it hit me My Crab Claws! So, when she returned I asked did they have them in stock. Yes, we do! So we ordered a pound of them to go, to eat the next day. We had to try one before leaving the parking lot! Hahaha! Those were the largest Crab Claws I ever seen, and so so good! We were still talking about our time at David's Catfish this morning. Bland, overpriced food. I doubt they even have any recipes as nothing had any flavor. Everything is simply breaded with flour and fried. Several in our party didn't care for the food. No butter served with baked potato, only margarine. Slow service to boot. If you want seafood, head to Pensacola. If you don't feel like driving, cook it yourself. As a party of four we visited this location of David's about three weeks ago. Now normally we are closer to the one in Milton but we found ourselves in Brewton. We will not be back! Three of us were served cold, not Luke but COLD sweet potatoes and one baked potato. I take this as an insult and the kitchen just doesn't care. You know when they plated the potatoes they could tell they were cold. Could not flag down the waitress so I finally gathered them up and headed to the kitchen. Of course she was apologizing and offered something else. YOU THINK! They never should have been sent out in the first place. And now I'm really blaming myself because as we were leaving the manager was standing behind the counter, I should have stopped and said something to him, but I didn't.
