    Fillet + Shrimp combination plate

This was my first visit to David's Catfish House, and it was reeeally delicious! We got coleslaw for the table after ordering, and while it was really good, I doctored mine up with salt and pepper to cut down on its sweetness. My catfish filets were fried perfectly; so crispy and the perfect size. I don't like really big catfish filets, but these were PERFECT. Probably the size of an average man's hand. The cornmeal gave the most perfect contrast to the almost-sweet flakes of the catfish meat. And those cheese grits were smooth and creamy, my goodness! Lastly, my hushpuppies. Sometimes--SOMETIMES--hushpuppies are too dense or too dry, and this was NOT the case here. They might have been the best dang hushpuppies I've ever had, with kernels of whole sweet corn dancing throughout. Y'ALL. You have GOT to come here and try the fried catfish. I'm ready to come back and have some more. Also, I ordered the 3 filet plate at $14.99, but IF you finish that and are still hungry, you can go ahead and request more catfish and bump the price to "all you can eat" for $17.99 instead. If I had taken it easy on the coleslaw, I so would've eaten more catfish.

Good food ! We eat here quite often. We are big fans of the coleslaw. This particular order was a to-go for Mom. She really enjoy the stuffed crab.

David's Catfish has been a favorite restaurant for many years. I follow them on Facebook and saw their post about having curbside pick up as well as selling frozen entrees to prepare later at home. I called ahead for my order of the family feast catfish filet dinner which consisted of catfish, hush puppies and 2 sides which I ordered double cole slaw as theirs is the best!! In addition, I purchased a pound of Monroe thick sliced bacon and a 4 lb. box of frozen catfish filets to prepare at home later. The restaurant was very appreciative of the order and my husband and I enjoyed our delicious meal picnic style in our vehicle. Let's all get out and support our local restaurants during this time of uncertainty with Covid19. #YelpBigNightIn @yelpmobile

We drive by David's Catfish House every day and finally got around to trying it. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to our anticipation. There isn't anything "bad" about this restaurant, but nothing stands out. The catfish is perfectly cooked, not too crunchy, not greasy - but the seasoning was nothing special. My son's popcorn shrimp were good, but we've had better since we moved here. The slaw was sweet, VERY sweet, too sweet for us. It's a little expensive as well, $12.99 to $15.99 a plate - yikes. I wouldn't really complain about anything at David's Catfish House, it's just that the bar is set pretty high for fish in this area.

Best fried catfish in Alabama. Have been to all three locations and they are all friendly and safe distanced. Their Cole slaw is soooo good.

My waitress was a very extroverted personality, easy going and socialable. Her name is Lauren (hope I spelled that correctly) But I asked for some recommendations on various things. She gave me her honest opinion about it. Which I appreciates. Most people would try to gaslight/upsell she didn't. I end up getting the pick 3. Grilled crabcake, grilled crab claws and blackened suwait fish. As I waited I observed the decor, it was your standard marina style. Nothing crazy. I got my food in a decent time frame. But wow the food tasted amazing! Everything was so flavorful, I devoured the entire plate. Nothing left but garnishment! However the gumbo was good, not great. Before I left, it was halftime and the Seahawks was dominating the game! Overall, I would comeback, thanks again Lauren for excellent customer service!

Upon arriving we noticed the big parking lot, good location, and when we walked in we were greeted immediately. Inside was nicely decorated, dimly lit, and clean. We promptly got sat on a Sunday afternoon, and quickly got served water, got our drink orders, and food orders put in. The brunch menu is from 12-3, with mimosas and bloody Maria's. The bloody was really nice - could tell it had tequila! Old fashion was nice not overly Smokey. Onto the food, the tamales were some of the best I've had. They were HUGE. They came with birria, great consume, flavorful poblano rice, delicious poblano and corn cream (something of that nature) was so creamy and was GREAT. I couldn't believe how hot and fresh everything was. It was some of the best Mexican I've had. My husband enjoyed his chicken as well - it was tender and juicy, good char on the pineapple too. The portions were huge and we didn't eat it all. Good thing we didn't, the chef gave us complimentary dessert (ice cream because we're gluten free)! It was our first time and we'd love to go back. Everything looked and sounded great. Good margarita options, the flight was ordered by the table next to us! The overall cost for us two, although not the worst, but definitely not a cheap brunch was $110 with tip. Hot sauce was $2.50 on the side. A nice treat with friendly staff and good food, but not if you're looking to save some money.

The ambiance absolutely lived up to the hype. It's beautiful, upscale, and has a very romantic atmosphere that makes it feel special from the moment you walk in. We ordered the Maui tacos and the carnitas tacos. Both were delicious, generously portioned, and filling enough that I ended up bringing one taco home. The food was fresh and flavorful, although my taste buds lean more toward the bold Sonoran-style flavors I grew up enjoying. The salsa was sweeter than I expected, and the chips were made from tostada shells rather than traditional tortilla chips, which felt a little unusual and wasn't my favorite. At around $22 per taco plate, it felt a bit pricey for an early afternoon meal, but the portions were generous and we certainly didn't leave hungry. The highlight of the evening was the birthday surprise. Our waitress coordinated a birthday ice cream dessert complete with a sparkler and singing. She completely caught my husband off guard and helped make his birthday celebration extra memorable. For the atmosphere and special experience alone, Tulum is worth a visit.
