I have never been a fan of this place. I have worked in Glens Falls since 2005 so I used to go there quite a bit with coworkers and friends for lunch or after work on Fridays for happy hour. The food & service was always just okay for me. I mostly went because others wanted to. They do have a nice outdoor dining area. My husband wanted to try it the other day and experience it. We tried to go there the other night for drinks but after standing at the bar for five minutes being ignored we left. Friday we stopped for lunch. We asked to sit by the road to people watch and the hostess said they were short staffed and were trying to seat people close together which was fine. It took our waitress a long time to come take our order, and then a long time to bring our drinks. Thank God we weren't parched or something. My husband wanted to order an IPA-they didn't have any. He ordered an Oktoberfest beer and said it was gross. I got a Brisk lemonade and it was $4.25......burgers and salads were $20+ for lunch. I told my husband it wasn't very good but he wanted to try it anyway. After looking at the menu we split the nachos. They were soggy and weird. All the toppings except the cheese sauce were on the bottom under the chips. We almost went to Mikado and wished we had even though we have been going there a lot. We got to watch it from our seat across the road. The table next to us didn't finish their food and got it boxed up. The hostess gave me their food and I told her it wasn't mine and she took it back and gave it to the right person. But if I hadn't said anything that man wouldn't have gotten his leftovers...all of these little things aren't a big deal but added up together kind of show what it is like here. With everything going on in the downtown Glens Falls area, it's nice that Davidson Brothers is able to keep its rustic charm and still fit in quite nicely. The beer list isn't as extensive as other breweries in the area, but quantity isn't necessary when you have quality. The bartender was very much a people-person constantly checking on us and conversing with us. Should you opt to eat or drink inside, you'll be fascinated by the decor. I should have inquired on purchasing some of those Interstate logo beer glasses, maybe next time. There's a charm here I've experienced in breweries in much larger cities, and it's nice to have that same feeling here. read more

I am extremely disappointed in dinner here tonight. I ordered the spinach, artichoke dip, and there was no spinach in the dip. It was basically warmed up cream cheese with a few chunks of artichoke that you couldn't even see and then I ordered another app the tuna poke salad. It was not bad my friend ordered a Caesar salad with no chicken just basically lettuce and dressing and we both had one drink. She had a Mic ultra (can) and I had the drink special that was basically a cup of ice literally 2 ounces of liquid. Our bill came to $80. I was in shock. Been coming to Davidson's for many many years, usually interspaced by months, if not years. This was the areas first and initially premier brew pub. Unfortunately as the years have passed it has been plagued by poor food. The plague continues... Listen, the beer here is acceptable, if not very good (hence the 3 stars) and that has been consistent over the years but I just can't wrap my head around why the food has been consistently bad. Having the best location in Glens Falls is no longer going to serve you unless you can back it up with quality food! They've even gone so far as to lease the kitchen out to various deep fried and microwaved Sysco shoveling food pushers and as you would imagine, that hasn't helped. I recently saw that they're was someone slinging burgers out of the kitchen on a to go basis as well but no sight of that anymore... Hey here's a suggestion- partner with ACC, get some new blood in the kitchen, hire and cut an actual CHEF into the business and stop selling microwaved Mexican street corn slop. Pick one thing to do and do it better that anyone else, like brick oven pizza or egg rolls for gods sake. Do better, please. read more

Drove into Glens Falls to visit some family and decided to have lunch here at Davidson Brothers. Our server recommended the Fried Chicken Sandwich. It's a house-brined chicken breast that's battered in buttermilk, deep-fried, and then dressed with bacon aioli and served between a brioche bun with fried pickles. I opted for bacon and extra American cheese on mine. The sandwich was excellent. I thought the chicken was well-seasoned. It was flavorful and paired well with the fried pickles. So we were heading up to south glens falls to see a high school football game. We decided to grab some dinner. I rode my motorcycle up and found good parking pretty quickly. They don't have great parking unless I missed something, so plan extra time for yourself. Anyway we had reservations outside and I'll get to that in a minute but I went to the bar for a brew while I awaited the rest of our party. This is why I'd recommend this place because the bartender was honestly the man. He was schooling the waitstaff on drinks and glasses and hustling the whole time I talked his ear off. He earns his keep behind the rails and probably keeps the place moving in my opinion. So what I wanted to say about the outside seating is I'm 6'6" and 275 lbs and the furniture was inexpensive and a bit flimsy plastic outdoor furniture. I was not very comfortable and there wasn't much space. But obviously not everyone is my body style. On to the food. It was okay but not great. My daughter had the fried chicken sandwich and I think she picked the best. I had some pub breadsticks and they were good. My wife has a quesadilla and it was good but nothing was really good or great. We had two of my daughters friends with us and they had wraps that looked good too. I will say the beers were good and the drinks looked good too. A great pour on my wife's tequila as well. I would definitely go back for drinks and snacks but not dinner. 11/11/2022. After being told about this place, from a coworker, my wife and I took the ride out. We both enjoy a good craft beer, paired with a good meal. Let me tell you, we got both here. Upon entering, we absolutely loved the decore, had a very comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive. We ordered a beer, and food. Both were served quickly. Served with tortilla chips, it definitely hit the spot! We also ordered fried pickles, steak tacos as appetizers-and I didn't need to order an entree! So full! I am hoping that I have been fair and am not letting the high expectations we entered the door with color my rating. The patio was beautiful and buzzing with customers and, much to the delight of our 4 & 8 yr old lunch guests, a dog. The patio bustle practically called to you to try the establishment. There was another choice right next door, but it had no outside diners and was quiet indoors as well. Our thought process was go with the busy restaurant, the food is probably the reason for the high number of customers. The service was initially really good and we loved that they handed each child an old school etch-a-sketch as we headed for our indoor table. The kids loved the novelty and it really was nice not to have to fork over our electronics or repeatedly refuse to engage a restaurants own electronic gaming system. The kids meals were served in Bento boxes which also thrilled our young guests. One child ordered cheeseburger sliders and the other asked for the hot dog. About 10 minutes or so after we ordered someone came to inform us that they were out of hotdogs. Unfortunately it was the 4 yr old who ordered the hot dog and she was not pleased with the situation. They were very apologetic about the oversight and tactfully retreated to give us a chance to reason with disappointed preschooler. It was not pretty. She finally chose the spaghetti and meatballs. We loved the concept of the bento box but the execution failed. One square had a small side of fries which the kids said were the best ever and one had cubes of cantelope and honeydew melon. We loved that choice but to be honest, apples and grapes or strawberries would have been the kids preference and it is cheaper, so food costs would be much less. Melon prep is not nearly as easy and quick as apples or just rinsing strawberries. The final square offered a few celery sticks and a little cup of ketchup was nestled in the middle of the box. The problem was the entrees. The cheeseburger sliders were overcooked. Well, well done. The spaghetti had no meatballs at all, not a single one. While I was digging through the noodles trying to find a meatball I happened to lick the fork and almost spit out the sauce. It tasted like someone had opened a can of tomato paste and a can of crushed tomatoes, mixed them together and then warmed the concoction in a microwave. The 4 year lucked out because we intended to force her to eat at least half of her entree...that went right out the door when I tasted the sauce. No way would we make her eat that mess. The turkey, apple, cranberry melt was delicious. However the calamari was over cooked and chewy. I haven't had that problem with reataurant calamari in years. The shrimp taco had battered and fried shrimp instead of the grilled shrimp I expected. The shrimp looked more like fried clams than anything else and were also overfried. The mango salsa was fine but pairing it with coconut milk rice just made the whole dish too sweet for an entree IMHO. A rice with a little spice woud have balanced out the sweetness of the salsa better and grilled shrimp would have tasted much fresher than the fried shrimp. They never came back to offer the kids the dessert that came with the kids meal and no one asked about the food that was left on our plates. The calamari was an appetizer and was sent back but I didn't have more than a bite of the tacos and of course the 4 year old did not touch the spagetti. Someone has a really good concept but the food we were served did not meet our expectations. I would normally give a place like this a second chance but to be brutally honest it was expensive enough that I resent having spent that kind of coin on the food and cannot see clear to risk it again. read more

Where to begin...we stopped in here on a recent trip to Glens Falls and chose to eat here based on the larger crowd size we noticed. There was another place right next door and we wish now we opted for that place. We started off ok, we were seated and provided a QR code where you had to order yourself via the website after opening a tab with your credit/debit card. I was quite surprised by the prices being so high $16 for a chicken sandwich and chips? I chose to add onion rings for another $3 and yet another $1 for cheese. When the order arrived - no chips? Not that I wanted them but adding $3 for the rings I didn't think it would eliminate the chips. My husband ordered the meatless chicken sandwich, also with onion rings. Our rings were over fried making them very crunchy, to the point of not being tasty any longer. We struggled to get any attention to at least make it known we were not pleased. The guy who appeared to be the manager was bragging out loud with a couple of the staff how they made $6k in just food for the lunch period...no wonder with the prices..not something a customer wants to hear. We also asked for two fountain drinks - we were served in approx 12oz plastic throw away cups at $3.50 each...wow - After asking for a refill by flagging down a waitress we were given back the same cups - fine for me I suppose but my husband had his straw paper in his cup yet it was filled and given back to him. He did not realize at first but once the paper surfaced he was grossed out - why no new cup? Especially during covid. Then the bill - $49 for two chickens sandwiches and two fountain drinks....smack! After tip we are in the mid $50 range for two people and a simple lunch? I could have had the Burger King Chicken sandwich with fries and a drink for not even $10 and it probably would have tasted better. This visit was primarily to have the opportunity to once again have a pint of Wm. Newman's Pale Ale. I last had it about 35 years ago when Bill was brewing it in Albany. A lot has changed in beer over those years and I didn't know if I would enjoy it as much now with so many craft breweries that have come into existence. It turned out to be very likeable. It was a nice simple English ale. It makes me wonder even more so now, how acquaintances I introduced to it at a party north of Boston, cold have ever called it weasel piss. I wonder if they are still drinking Bud. The serving of Newman's beer today was also part of a fundraiser for Parks & Trails New York and the Feeder Canal Alliance. So my $6.99 pint also contributed to a good cause. While there, I also had lunch. I ordered the Smokehouse Panini ($12.49) with optional onion rings ($2.99). The Panini had all-natural turkey breast with Oscar's smoked cheddar, bacon, sun dried tomatoes, and a honey chipotle Dijon on a really nice multi-grain bread. Just enough bite in the chipotle Dijon. The onion rings were very good also. My server Nicole was efficient and friendly. She also made sure I was aware that the menu clearly states that all prices include the servers' tip. We had the calamari, fried avocado tacos, bratwurst special, and also got a beer sampler. Everything was great! They were very kind about my unique food allergy (corn syrup) and the owner stopped to chat with us a few times. Inside, you'll find a typical bar/restaurant environment with the bar stools, seating areas, and high tables. The best part is that can watch them brew. They were all very typical with nothing special to them. For $17-$25 each it wasn't much food. Atmosphere is ok, small but clean and what you'd expect for a small brewery, prices are way too high, food is average, service was good. I love that they have a dog menu worked out perfectly since we had my brothers dog with us as well! She enjoyed the doggy burger! This was my first time visiting Glens Falls - visiting their local Hannaford's in the past doesn't fully count, methinks - and I fell in love with their beautiful downtown area, namely Davidson Brothers Brewery! Two of us were looking for a good bite after a long drive up from NYC, and we left this place more than satisfied! First off - call it the shock of living in NYC for too damn long, haha - the cocktails were cheap and amazing! I got the Strawberry Lemon Sangria while he got the vibrant yellow-green Melon Cooler. Both were amazing taste sensations at only $6.95 a pop! Totally appropriate for 3:30 p.m. on a Friday. Ha! I opted to eat the DB Fried Burger, and I still get emotional thinking about it. HA! Call me cheesy, but this was easily one of the better hamburgers I've had in quite some time. From strictly a construction standpoint, battering and deep-frying the burger kept its ingredients from sliding out of the bun, you I had consistency in just about every bite I took. The burger itself stayed at the medium-rare temperature I requested. It was incredibly flavorful! There is something to be said for making a burger with this method! In my opinion, this isn't gimmicky. This is SMART. He ordered the Brewben with curly fries, and this was also a magnificent beast of a sandwich. A few pieces of meat were a tad fatty, but overall, this was a winner, especially with its ample cheese, mustard, and sturdy marbled rye bread. We took to sitting outside along the alleyway, sitting in the sun, people watching and chatting with our lovely waitress Steph. I peered in at the brewers showing through the restaurant's large windows; too bad I can't drink beer, but their selection of homemade brews looked rather impressive!
