Very comfy and roomy place. Nice bar with friendly staff. We choose Outdoor seating which was great and being pet friendly is awesome. Dog water bowls outside are helpful. Various table games are available to take to your table. nice touch to keep kids occupied. Ordering food and drinks for outside tables isn't the best system as you have to go to bar to make order. They had one person back there and she was overwhelmed making drinks and taking orders. Must be an easier system to implement for making food orders. We had a party of 8 so was very difficult keeping track and going back and forth. Maybe during busy times a waitress would be best and non peak hours ordering at bar would be fine. Dog cup of meat is a nice addition on menu. Dog was happy! Beer was excellent. Good variety and fair pricing. Frosted beer glasses would be even better. Food was average bar food at best. Burger patty was thin and flavorless. Pork on sandwich was extremely dry but sauce on it helped. Poutine fries were good and gravy was great but no curds to be found just melted cheese. Should be called disco fries not poutine fries. Biggest minus we encountered was the awful stench in the parking lot and on the patio occasionally depending on the wind. I mean come on ! This has to be addressed !!! Can't eat and drink in sewer stench. People covering their noses in parking lot on the way in is not ideal :) Get a pro and fix this asap ! We visited Aug. after kayaking on Paradox Lake. We had a BBQ pork sandwich & shared wings. Both good. We had beer also. Didn't order pizza but they looked very good. Will try next time. Service was good, typical brewery inside, high tops & regular tables. Bathrooms clean & well stocked. View outside windows of mountain nice. Deck with some tables for outdoor dining. My goodness how much has changed in eleven years! That's how long it has been since we last visited Paradox Brewery on the south side of Schroon Lake. Their new location in North Hudson is huge and wonderful. Coincidentally, I just realized after reading my previous review that we were here this time on their twelfth anniversary, July 26th. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, PB! Being in Schroon Lake for a memorial visit, it seemed reasonable to travel another twelve miles north to pay PB a visit before returning home. Their parking lot was almost full at 7:30 on a Saturday night. It was amusing to notice the car license plates from so many different states (Canada is still understandingly boycotting the US). There being a 20 to 30 minute wait for a table, we managed to snag two unreserved stools at the bar. I chose to request a Paradox Helles (German style pale lager) while my wife went with a Ginger Hibiscus Cider. Both were excellent. While my wife munched on a House Made Pretzel, I thoroughly enjoyed a Pulled Pork sandwich with a side of spicy coleslaw and potato chips. I dumped the coleslaw (which I didn't find spicy at all) on top of the pulled pork and really enjoyed the combined flavors, textures, and tenderness of the pork on the toasted brioche roll. It was messy but delicious. Their pizzas looked good as I saw them pass by. Next visit may need to be on a weekday when they are less likely to be so busy. If you can get past the less than enthusiastic, snarky hostess, the beer is great. The food is good but it takes a long time, more than 30 min for a pizza, and sitting around a barrel table is not fun. The customer gets their own water, plates etc and places their own food and drink order if they sit on the deck. I wish this was a one time meh review but we've been a few times and it's the same regardless of the number of customers or time of day. I guess if we drank more beer we wouldn't care about waiting, snarkyness and serving ourselves. read more

Went for burger and beer on 6/17. The burger had the thinnest patty I've seen except for mcdonalds. I'm a fan of their beer but more than a little disappointed in the burger. Update: Paradox replied to my post above with an explanation for the thin patty that day (supplier issues that kitchen tried to substitute for). They offered me a comp burger on my next visit (appreciated!). I've met other Paradox reps and they are all good people and evidently care very much about their quality assurance. Great ambiance with nice views! Drove up from Albany and found this brewery on my roadtrip. Pizza is delicious- the crust is crispy and on the flat side (Ordered the Buffalo Outlook with Ranch). Just would have liked a stronger buffalo sauce taste but other than that really good! Greats drinks as well! The ciders are on the sweeter side if that's your preference. Friendly service as well. This popular spot draws people from all over. Such a convenient location and great products! It's a bit confusing since the recent rebranding of the beers, but it should t be- it's actually simpler! Now it's ALL Paradox, but then the TYPE of brew- no quirky names. So Beaver Bite is now Paradox IPA. My favorite- I was worried it was discontinued for a moment. The 2024 menu now includes Liz's House-Made Red Sangria. It's better than the usual watery San Gria which always tastes weak to me. This is sweet and flavorful, a recipe she says she discovered in Chilé. I am VERY happy to relay that there is a dessert now: chocolate layer cake with peanut butter cream. After so long with only ice cream cups at one point, this. This! I can't wait to try it. On this visit I had the cauliflower crust pizza with red sauce and pineapple and Canadian bacon. Yum! I love this crust because it's not too filling, but still satisfying. Service was excellent an my mistake: live music is tomorrow, so I'll have to return. Food was great, beer was delicious, service was atrocious. Sat down, 10 minutes and I ask the hostess whether we need to order at the bar or not (I already knew the answer), 5 minutes later a server wanders by and we put in our full order of drinks and food. Drinks got there promptly the whole night to be fair. 45 minutes after we order food, it arrives. They had come by at least 3 times before that with the wrong table's order. After delivery, food was great and we got more attention after food than before. Overall great, but the food service is SO BAD. If you're using handheld POS systems there are no excuses. read more

It's unfortunate to say but our visit to Paradox Brewery was the biggest disappointment of my vacation. Pros- the brewery is huge and can accommodate small or large groups. It's clean and the menu offers ample options. They have two small dogs on premises which I personally loved but for people with allergies could possibly a problem. Cons- the bartender whose name is unfortunately not on the bill, was not friendly and at times a little bitchy. We ordered the same pizza as our folks just a smaller version and when it came out, it looked completely different AND had tomatoes which we didn't request or want. Also, I requested water with a bowl of lemons and was only given one thin slice of lemon thrown into my water. Nasty!! read more

Ok , let's start with the Service, it was excellent. Very friendly staff, made you feel at home. The beer was good, my wife loves IPA's so their double aka overbite was awesome she said. I had a red and it was very good. Now for the Bad.... The food. We started with a pretzel and poutine. The pretzel ( 1 ) was very small and came out of a box from a store, extremely hard and horrible. You have a pretzel on the menu in a brewery it should be freshly made or don't have it at all! The Poutine wasn't poutine, it was disco fries. Poutine is a nice homemade brown gravy with cheese curds, chives and seasoning. Not white cooper or American melted with brown gravy over it. The Pizza, our younger daughter was not a fan of the cheese pizza pie. We got a pie with white sauce, sausage, tomato and something else on it. It had no flavor, very dry and the bottom crust was very soft. I'm writing this review hoping the Owner and manager's read this and improve their food. You have an amazing place there, it could be so much more with a good chef. read more

Amanda and I decided to take a kayak trip to Paradox lake. On our way home we stopped at Paradox Brewery. Amazing view of the Adirondacks from the parking lot by the old Frontier town. Greeted by our hostess, we asked for seating outside on the deck to continue the amazing views. The waiter came out about 5-7 minutes after our arrival. We ordered 2 beers and a taster, IPA and Brown and the taster was an homage to LGBTQ+ community. I thoroughly enjoyed the IPA taster and Amanda liked the Brown ale. We ordered food at the same time, 2 burgers and a pretzel with beer cheese. Tried getting the Brussel sprouts although they were out. Food service was real quick so much so the food came out before the bartender could pour the beer. IMO, the beer was the star of the show. Food was an afterthought, although, we did not order the pizza which looked delicious! Honestly, we were there for the beer and the views. After we ate, decided to stick around and have any other pint and play shuffleboard. The inside of the brewery was gorgeous, rustic, clean, plenty of table, open, airy, and plenty of light. I couldn't get server to get another beer and we finished our meal and now been sitting here for 20 plus minutes waiting for someone to come back so we can pay and get boxes for our food. We stumbled upon this spot planning to just grab a drink (I don't drink, but my friend does), and we ended up having such a fantastic experience that we stayed for food--and it worth it! Both our waitress and the bartender were incredibly kind and welcoming. They took the time to chat with us at great lengths about the surrounding area, sharing hiking spots, a charming small town nearby, local musical events, and even how breathtaking the recent eclipse was. Their enthusiasm made us want to come back and explore more! We ordered the Margherita pizza and homemade chili--both were absolutely delicious. The pizza was fresh and flavorful, and the chili had just the right amount of spice and warmth. This place has such a great atmosphere, wonderful people, and amazing food. I guess I had high expectations for this place since it's sold in a lot of grocery stores in the ADK. The decor was also on point with being close to the mountains. But the beer I tried was not very good. I tried the Hefeweizen and the clever cortex which I was told was like a blue moon. Blue moon is better! Also, they do not do flights. I like to try multiple beers when at a new place. Just stinks they do not offer this as an option. Maybe if you have food, this place could be cool to hang out at. But all of my favorite type of beers, just did not do it for me. read more

Been there a few times and I feel this review encompasses all visits. Food and beer are good. Service is NOT good. We got seated but took forever for someone to wait on us. Finally got a beer but the food took way too long as others that came in after us were already served. The waitress never came back to check with us. We finally flagged someone else. Other family members on a different date waited 20 minutes, totally ignored, finally walked out. Parking is great if you like walking 5 minutes from the lot to the door while there is ample parking right out front that is restricted to handicap and EV's which I have yet to see a vehicle using. I do like the place, they just need more (experienced) help and a better parking lot. (They do have room to widen the lot out front. It would make sense to utilize it.) read more

Great place to grab some dinner after a long day hiking a 46er. We were staying around a campsite near this brewery and every time we passed keep saying we would like to try it out. We checked it out and brewery was amazing. Grabbed their Beaver Bite beer, which had a nice pine taste. For food, grabbed their burger and poutine. Foods were tasty and filling. We ordered beers and lunches, pizza, burgers, salads, wings etc. Some people got their meal in a reasonable time and few waited over an hour to get their food, the rest of had already eaten. There were a few other errors with our orders. The food was good but the service was poor and this is not the 1st time we've gotten bad service there. read more

Not 'I'm really sorry we are slammed,' or 'Can I get you a drink on the house.' Just, 'this is a terrible business model, we shouldn't serve food, just beer.' Paradox is a great brewery. Their beers are consistently good. Their Parahelles may be one of our favorite beers on earth. Their location in the heart of the Adirondacks make them a perfect apres hike stop off. The service is always friendly and they have a house dog (Olive) who is a hoot each time we visit. But the real reason to go to Paradox Brewing is for their Paradox Pie. Hands down our favorite pizza on the planet. Paradox Brewing has been a brewery I've been wanting to try for a while. But at first there was a lot of confusion for me as to where the brewery was before attempting to get a hold of their beer. There is another Paradox Brewery in Colorado too. They aren't the same company as near as I can tell but Colorado for me is a lot more reachable for me than New York but after some planning I finally did get a hold of some beer for the Paradox in New York. First up was the Pathological. This was an Italian style lager. Not bad but felt like it was a little more on the juicier side in flavor than that dryness you get when having an Italian lager. We were having pasta with the beer which wasn't a bad combination but I did miss that dryness. Next up was the Paradox Pilsner. This one I think was my favorite out of the three beers we had here. It had that good pilsner taste which is a biscuity flavor. I did indeed like that. Last up was the Last House on the Hefe. As the name implies it's a Hefeweizen. These types of beers can really vary on flavor depending which brewery makes them. Sometimes the balance is excellent. Other times the clove and banana flavors are just too dominating. In this case it was the bubblegum flavor which can also be found in Hefeweizens. The flavor of that was very dominating which I didn't particularly care for but there was no knowing how well I'd like it until I tried it. read more

We absolutely felt right at home here! Loved sitting outside overlooking the mountains! The beer could almost be secondary! We ordered a few beers and chatted away! I would've loved to have gotten a sweatshirt or baseball cap but they didn't have any! Boo hoo! So we took home some beer instead! They have an area under a tent where we head ordered but then we went to the porch area to sit! I heard they have live music (at least pre Covid) so I hope on the next visit they have it! I spoke to the manager of the place and she was very nice! She was happy that the place was busy and they were thrilled of course because summer is their busiest time!
