While this was very overwhelming for me I put my trust in her. I let her replace nearly all the work to a tune of about $9,000 out of pocket after my insurance covered their portion. After she had replaced things in my mouth my occlusion was completely ruined. I had come into the office too many times to count to try and correct this. One side of my mouth had a bite way too high, the other side of my mouth had a bite way too low. The appearance of her in office made crown was terrible and the color matched nothing in my mouth. She kept telling me I would get used to the new work which was not the case. It caused me terrible TMJ and facial pain. I finally got a second opinion from a prosthodontist to find out my bite was terribly off from all this work. Everything she done had to be taken out and redone. There are other issues that I had besides this about leaving me with infected teeth after mentioning numerous times that something was not right, only to be disregarded. I finally have a new dental team that has been phenomenal but it has taken me over a years-worth of work to recover from this. I tried contacting her for a refund for many months only to get strung along with no reasonable resolution. This has been the biggest nightmare of my life. I would recommend anyone going here to get a second opinion on her recommended services. She will try to get as much work out your mouth as she can to fill her pocket book, beware.

My family has…read morebeen very happy with Elmbrook Family Dental for 20+ years, starting when Dr. Brunner was just a kid! I recently completed a tooth implant process that took several months (remove 40-year old crown, bone graft, wait for that to heal, implant post, wait for that to heal, implant!). The whole process was about as painless as it could possibly be. One of the things I like best about Elmbrook Family Dental is that they explain things clearly -- throughout the process Dr. Plecas explained each step, what the options were, what he thought the best option would be, and why. Knowing about the bone graft was especially important to me, and seeing what the part of the implant would be and how it all went together was cool. I was initially concerned because my son's wedding was coming up, and I didn't want to have a big hole in my mouth for pictures. Dr. Plecas discussed options with me -- the full process wouldn't be complete before the wedding. If I wanted, we could have gotten a temporary fake tooth there, but he thought I should wait and see how it looked. Once the tooth was removed I found that the space wasn't very noticeable at all. I'm very glad that I didn't spend the extra money on a temporary tooth! It feels like we know everyone there - we've been there for years, and at times we had six family members going. My older kids only stopped going there when they totally left the area; while they were in college out of state they still went to Elmbrook Family Dental, scheduling appointments around their breaks. One of the other things I like about Elmbrook Family Dental is that they keep up with processes, technology, and materials.

I had been seeing Dr. Brunner for about 13 years for general dentistry. Since his TMJ training, my…read moregeneral dentistry appointments have been awful. It's a hard sell for TMJ services with every appointment. Cost for TMJ services: Assessment $650 and treatment $5400-6500 (services weren't clarified) with payment required upfront. He says he uses a third-party to maximize insurance payout and after that is received, he would refund anything that insurance covers. When I asked what patients do when they can't afford this treatment, he became defensive and explained that he couldn't provide services for free (which I wouldn't expect). I found a local (TMJ & Orofacial Pain Treatment Center) doctor who is excellent, fitted me with a night guard for under $200, and that has very clear patient costs for services after insurance, and charges much less overall.

The building is relatively small (but not cramped) and completely updated to look like a modern, inviting home. The feeling of home is echoed in the friendliness of each and every staff member. All of them are polite, professional, and friendly. Considering a dentist's office is the LAST place you want to be they definitely go the extra mile to make you feel comfortable. Both doctor and tech were open about each step without being intimidating. They are genuinely concerned for your comfort and conduct themselves effectively without being heavy handed. Booking an appointment is great. They send email confirmations with calendar entries for convenience. Rescheduling is a breeze. After leaving from a tooth extraction I was unexpectedly given a "gift from the tooth fairy" which included a custom thank you card and a gift certificate for a treat. The finishing touches were amazing on what was already a pleasant visit. Could not recommend them enough.

My final test is whether or not Dr. Blair makes referrals to other very good dentists. I need restorative work so she referred me to a periodontist. I am impressed. She sent me to a good one. If she makes good referrals my trust in her skyrockets. There is a ramp out front and the restroom is handicapped accessible. Looks to be wide enough for a wheelchair user too. I had a miserable experience with the first dentist I found when I moved to this part of town. I am so glad I now have a dentist who I can send friends and family to. No hesitation at all.
