The only reason I don't give this restaurant 5 stars is for their customer service. They only have kids working behind the counter and their manners need some polishing. Other than that the food is great especially the brisket grilled cheese and brisket burger just with they came with fries, they definitely charge enough to include fries. read more

Finally after being in seguin for about 6 months, we tried Davila's. One the guys here has been on TV for bbq, so we figured it's got to be great. Now we did order a family pack to go with extras, which was a slight disaster, as they didn't cover the beans with some plastic wrap and they spilled, luckily not over everything. Brisket and sausage were pretty good, nice flavor and tenderness, chicken and ribs were just ok, however the sides didn't match up, they were just ok. We had enough food for about 5-6 people and the cost was just at $80, a little pricey, in my opinion. I would go to 3.5 stars, if possible, service is courteous and friendly, probably best part of this place. read more

We had the brisket grilled cheese during a Spurs game tonight and it was so delicious. The brisket and cheese seemed to be mixed so one wasn't more overpowering than the other. It came with a pickle sphere and a bag of lays. Best brisket grilled cheese I've ever tasted. Would eat again. read more

When I first went to this place about 3-4 years ago it was awesome! I went there again about 2 years ago and it was not as good as the first time! I went again two days ago and I was very very dissapointed. The cut sausage had the strings on and tasted below average. The brisket was below aveage and the ribs were just Ok. The cole slaw was very soggy and tasteless and the potato salad was below average. I may not go back unless I want to give it one more shot. I used to recommend to friends but no more! read more

We are from Austin so we tend to expect pretty good BBQ. Davila's almost hit the mark. Chicken and sausage were great. Brisket was just a little dry in spite of all the other reviews on here. Ribs were good too. For sides the green beans were outstanding! They have bacon and onions in them and something to give them a slightly smoky flavor. We almost bought some extra to bring home. Cream corn was yummy as was the slaw. Pinto beans are nothing to write home about. They have flimsy napkins that are not suitable for BBQ. But you can go in the restroom and get some paper towels. . IT WAS TERRIBLE!! I got a chopped beef sandwich and the white bread that it was on was none existent when I picked it up, it was so bad that I had to eat it with a fork and knife. So yes I was given quite a bit of fat and hard jerky lamb meat.(not good hard meat) On June 26th I was given very good tender meat. All I have to say is that you have been warned about after 4:00 PM on Friday lamb. I do hope you are lucky to get a good tender serving of lamb. All the good food words. Delicious. Yummy. Mouthwatering... from the melt in your mouth brisket to the falling off the bone ribs to the sturdy, tasty sausage. From the creamy, cheesy Mac & cheese to the flavorful potato salad, every part of our dinner was a win!! The sauce is tangy, with a little sweet. Not too much vinegar, and just full of flavor. Went with a group in a Saturday evening. Ordered the two meat plate with brisket and sausage, sides of french fries and Mac & cheese. My daughter got the sliced brisket poboy. The sausage didn't have a ton of flavor but the brisket was good. Tender and salty but my pieces were a little too fatty. The Mac & cheese was creamy but needed seasoning. In a follow up visit, I got the all you can eat catfish plate and the catfish was very tasty, as was the Mexican bread pudding on a Friday during Lent. The BBQ looked better in the glass case but some of the ladies behind the counter especially the younger one has horrible customer service skills. For that alone I will dock this review 1 star. I was going to give them a 4 because the BBQ look halfway decent today and the fish was excellent. As others have said on Facebook and elsewhere, some of the employees don't make you feel welcome unless they know you. When I went to get some more catfish I got four small pieces without an enjoy, glad to see you etc. I hear the Guadalupe grill house has all you can eat catfish on Fridays too. This fish was good but since I can't eat a lot anyway and it was $12 it's just not worth my effort to come here, therefore since I really don't like their BBQ I upped my rating from 2 to 3 and I'm pretty much done with this place. I'm a baller on a budget. This is a terrible example of Texas bbq. Looking through a "holding" glass case with dare I say it, heat lamps were fatty, globuler looking mounds of brisket. It was very unappealing. Why use cheaper cuts of meat, just for more profit? I got just a link of sausage, as I heard they definitely stuff their own and take pride in it. The sausage was dry, greasy (and not a good greasy like city market or smittys in lockhart), but a fried or day old microwaved greasy. I heard from others, they do hold meats over the next day. The sausage was loose inside and peppered well, but there was not a snap to the casing, either because it is not a natural casing or the meat was reheated somehow. The bbq sauce was bland and watery. It tasted like someone just poured out the juice from one of those Hormel canned tamales. Take my advice and drive the 17 miles further and go to Luling's City Market, or wait for the new HEB's bbq restaurant to open. read more

The sausage had just the right amount of spices and flavor that a good Texas bbq sausage is known for. We all know about the bbq but the infamous 1/2 lb Brisket Burger is made big enough for any hungry customer. It's juicy patty has jammed packed flavor accompanied by slices of brisket laid on top, with your traditional lettuce tomato and mustard add ons. Mouth watering. We also tried the loaded nachos which I love because not only is their plenty of cheesy goodness but they also loaded with brisket and beans with a nice crispy pile of tortilla chips. There's a little bit of everything here and you won't be disappointed. Now let's talk bbq sauce, my favorite is the spicy bbq sauce. I like a little kick to my sauce and this meets my expectations. We were passing through and wanted something local. We chose Davila's. We would not go back. We got 2 plates (each plate had 2 meats and 2 sides), 1 sandwich, and 3 large drinks. It was $40. Not a good value at all. The brisket ends were good but you couldn't really taste the smoke. It needed more seasoning. The pork ribs were fatty and undercooked. Again, smoke was too subtle. The sausage on the other hand was over cooked. The only reason I rated it as high as I did was because the Mac and cheese was good and the coleslaw tastes like kFC's. There were no complaints about the green beans. The pinto beans were a little al dente. Also, it was self serve drinks so we could have refills on this hot day. The cheeseburgers--can't say what it was exactly, but it was really good and the Mac n cheese got a thumps up too. It was served with a sauce that was somewhere between bbq sauce and chili that was unexpected good with the meat as well as the okra. The brisket was good but the potato salad was mediocre at best. The coleslaw was the nastiest and we had to throw it out. I think it was spoiled. We tried to call to complain but you couldn't even understand the lady and she just put us on hold and never came back. Kept trying to call but just busy signal. Pretty good barbecue in Seguin. We were visiting the area and looking for a place to get lunch on a Sunday, which was harder than we would have thought. After finding several places closed we ended up at Davila's. The brisket was fatty and tasty. Not competition level, but better than most barbecue that I can find back home. A friend purchased a holiday present for me from Goldbelly. They paid over a hundred dollars. They ordered the mesquite smoked brisket with dry rub (approx. 4.5 lbs) from Davila's Bbq. Unfortunately, it was so fatty that we could not eat it. I was very disappointed and called the store at the end of last year 2020. I happened to talk to the owners son and told him the situation. He said he could send a leaner piece of brisket. I mentioned that I would prefer not experimenting with another brisket but could he send me the mesquite smoked pork ribs & lamb ribs. He commented that the lamb may be too fatty for my taste but the ribs would be fine. So I asked if he would please send me only the pork ribs to replace the brisket. He said that he would do this and tell his father about this transaction. They never sent me a replacement or responded to my subsequent email. I never received the food package. Terrible customer service and meat was too fatty. I usually do not write reviews but I thought this was very unprofessional and shoddy. read more
