I guess there's no medicine to clear it up. But, my score is as a spectator of the following, who may/may not return: I drove someone here for dilation. I was told to inquire about an upgraded procedure that costs $30 extra-well worth it. I asked the front-desk staff, she told me to ask the treating staff. I told her I was asking her, so we could find out the fees & pay for it. She was useless & made no attempt to find out. Registration - all pts are sent to the kiosk. I did it for the patient. We waited about 20 minutes then were called in. I stayed in the lobby for the show! In walks a patient (most were elderly); she was w/someone, who helped her at the kiosk. Had they bit their tongue, I might've offered to help - but I didn't want their smoke . This woman let them have it so well - the fact that they wouldn't bill her the copayment, she couldn't register at the kiosk w/o help, she said she's there because she can't see! I mean, the front desk was useless & the lead or mgr justified their laziness. She showed no care for the patient. Hopefully they fix their issues. You should be extra gentle with the elder community. And more helpful when it comes to using the advanced technology. The staff at the front desk should be ashamed.

This place is terrible. Why is it so hard to get someone on the phone and get an appt. I actually like one of your Dr's but refuse to go see him bc it's so hard to get anyone on the phone or get an appt. You need to try and do better.

I had an absolutely outstanding experience at Pearle Vision in Stony Brook. From the moment I…read morewalked in, the entire team was welcoming, professional, and genuinely focused on helping me. You can immediately tell when a place truly cares about their customers, and this location absolutely does. I have to give special recognition to Carol. She was simply exceptional. Her knowledge, patience, and kindness were on another level. She took the time to explain everything clearly, answered all my questions, and made sure I felt completely comfortable with every decision. You rarely come across someone who is this professional, this knowledgeable, and this genuinely caring all at the same time. To be honest, I could go on and on about how great she was. Carol is the kind of person every business hopes to have on their team. If more people in customer service were like her, the world would be a much better place. If you're looking for great service and a team that truly cares, this Pearle Vision location is the place to go

I finally got my glasses today, I can now write a review about my experience…read more Pearle Vision is owned by Luxottica, the Black Hand of eyewear and is now one of the largest franchised optical retailers in the USA. My wife and I were getting coffee and decided to stop in to browse. My wife is on a mission to get a funky pair of Burberry frames. A salesperson comes over and starts helping her with the various frames. They were able to find the pair she wanted online. Now, my wife turns her attention to me and says, look at these frames, I think they'd look nice on you. I try them on, sure enough, I look like a runway model. Sold! Now we need to upgrade our eyewear prescription. The person giving me the eye exam, I'm joking with her and we're making small talk. She's finished with the exam and I'm told my glasses should be ready in a few days. A few days pass and I get a call, my glasses are ready. I pick them up and the next day I wear them for the first time. I noticed the long distance was blurry? That night, I went back to the black hand of eyewear and I said check these glasses because my eyes are going batshit crazy. When I was there, the optometrist is working. He gives me a new eye exam and checks the prescription. He said the distance was increased? I guess that's what you get when you joke around with the eye examiner.. The problem was rectified, I just picked up my glasses with the correct lens. Now I can see like a hawk! No harm, no foul on the mistaken prescription. I do have to point out one thing, this place smells like there was a flood? Change the damn carpet, its mildewed!

I got something in my eye yesterday & couldn't get it out on my own. I've gone to OCLI's Pt Jeff…read morelocation, but the soonest appt was in E. Setauket with Valentina Blaine OD. when I arrived, I did the self check in at the kiosk and waited in the lobby. I could hear the reception area and how much fun all the staff was having, they seem to be extremely friendly, which is a far cry from the Port Jeff staff. IJS. When I was called into the office, the nursing staff that I encountered was extremely friendly and very nice. The doctor came in, put drops in & examined both my eyes. She then asked me if I had allergies and I told her yes, I take Claritin daily. She asked me if I ever take eye drops I said no need to since Claritin works. She stood up as I was still leaning forward with my chin in the cup for the exam. Valentina said "I don't see anything, OK?" I reiterated that "Something is still in my eye, and it has nothing to do with allergies". I specifically remember when the object hit my eye. Valentina reiterated the same and then left the exam room. I walked out confused. Never in my life have I ever had a doctor not have a plan or remedy. Even if they had no clue of a diagnosis for a patient. Her behavior was atypical at best. I went to the receptionist & asked if she could find out if there was any type of tx plan for me. She returned & told me to get eye drops. When I asked for some, she said OCLI doesn't have ANY samples to give me. I left in the same condition that I arrived in. I called OCLI on the phone and told them about what happened and I don't think it's fair that I didn't even get my eye flushed. I was placed on hold and office mgr Jackie spoke to me on the phone and tried to encourage me to return to the office to get further assistance. I told her no thank you, and referenced how I wouldn't even return food in a restaurant; I'd rather leave due to poor service. I told her I will go to the urgent care and get the proper treatment, which I did and everything is great! I called my insurance company and told them that I don't think OCLI should be paid for this visit. I was told that I can appeal the decision of the visit when they see the claim, which I may do. I will make sure anyone that I know is aware of the treatment that I received from Valentina Blaine OD. I would never give her the satisfaction to be called a doctor. She should be embarrassed & ashamed of the way she treated me as a patient with such dismissiveness. Valentina Blaine was a disgraceful experience that I wouldn't wish on any patient. I will never return to OCLI because of Valentina Blaine & how disgustingly she treated me as a patient. I question if she even took an ethical oath when she got her license to practice. She needs retraining or needs to return for internship to see how it's properly done. Sad that she's part of Catholic Health Services. Her morals need to be reevaluated.
