Need to post to spread the word please read as I am advocating for future dog parents. Police…read morereport has been filed and will proceed with investigation with Dupage Animal Control. Proceed with caution and we MISS KIM AND ED! (Previous original owners who sold this daycare to this jerk who only cares about the bottom line..... money and overbooking). Your staff have disclosed a lot over the few years at pick up. I've been bringing my German Shepherd to Canine Connections for over 8 years, and I always trusted them to provide a safe, caring environment. Unfortunately, my most recent experience has completely shaken that trust. When I picked up my dog, I noticed visible bite marks--injuries that clearly occurred while in their care. What's worse, no one called me, there was no incident report, and nothing was mentioned at pickup. I had to take my dog to the vet for treatment out of my own concern. After nearly a decade of loyalty, I expected far better from Steve and the team at Canine Connections. Mistakes can happen, but failing to communicate when an animal is injured is unacceptable. This isn't just a customer service issue--it's about safety, responsibility, and basic decency toward the animals they're trusted to care for. It's heartbreaking to say this after so many years, but I strongly encourage other pet owners to rethink bringing their dog to Canine Connections. If something happens to your pet, you deserve to know about it immediately--not find out after the fact, with no explanation. A few pics but there was more Injuries- bites on arm and all around his neck. It was Clearly a dog fight that Steve is claiming "nothing happened". Mind you my dog came home crying and shaking in pain. Vet gave antibiotics for 10 days plus pain meds washed out all wounds and closely monitor has we needed staples but declined due to the need to put him to sleep.

I've been boarding at CC for several years. Steve and staff are terrific and have gone extra to…read moremake my anxious dog (and me) comfortable. Great grooming services too.

We enrolled our puppy in the Puppy Training Beginners course when he was about 10-11 weeks old,…read morehoping to start early with basic training and socialization in a structured setting. To start with positives: Marianne's intentions seemed well-meaning, and her co-trainer Katie was phenomenal-we would gladly work with Katie again. The class helped us establish foundational commands like sit, stay, recall, and down. Unfortunately, our overall experience was negative enough that we chose not to attend the final two weeks of the eight-week course. The class included a wide range of puppy ages, from 3 months to nearly a year old. While that's not inherently problematic, it led to unrealistic expectations being placed on our younger puppy. The older dogs could complete tasks our 3-month-old naturally struggled with, and we felt Marianne held our puppy to the same standards unfairly. Around weeks 4-6, Marianne's handling and feedback became concerning. During one class, our 14-week-old puppy got overstimulated and began biting at his leash. Marianne offered to handle him, and when he became mouthy, she shouted, "Damnit dog, you bit me the last time too!" in front of the group. He did not bite her-he's a teething puppy with sharp baby teeth. When I tried to explain, she dismissed it, saying, "That doesn't matter." The interaction felt unprofessional and unnecessarily harsh. Her advice following the incident-such as suggesting we crate him for timeouts-was inconsistent with the situation. Rather than recognizing overstimulation, she treated it as defiance. We later overheard her referring to our puppy as "that small white one" in a negative tone, which was disappointing. Other participants privately expressed that they also found her behavior inappropriate. After we withdrew, Marianne called to suggest we see a behavioral trainer, implying our puppy was aggressive-something completely misaligned with his temperament. She also veered into unsolicited commentary about dog vaccinations, which felt unprofessional and outside her expertise. While she offered a refund (which we declined), our main concern was the handling and judgment, not the cost. Our puppy is now six months old-friendly, playful, and well-behaved with other dogs and children. The progress he's made has been thanks to other's advice, not Marianne's approach. In short: Katie was excellent, but our experience with Marianne was inappropriate, dismissive, and not developmentally attuned to young puppies.

This is the 3rd class our puppy has taken with this group…read more Reasonably priced, well run and both trainers are willing to work with the puppy's and their handlers. I think the trainers are attentive and recognize the unique qualities of all the dogs. I highly recommend these classes.
