mac loves this place. i love this place. trainer Rhonda is an amazing dog-whisperer, and i'd be lost without her. the staff is wonderful- i have kind of a wild child and they are very good with him. the grooming prices are excellent. the monthly package on play days is the way to go. The facility is clean as a whistle, and has a good amount of staff.

picked up my dog and had these sores on his neck... likely from his pincher collar not taken off for DAYS.

We boarded our dog there for 9 days and came back a different dog. When I sent a text to the owner as to how our dog was, I received a reply saying "Ok he is just being a puppy." When I picked up our dog, he had sores around his neck, likely not having his collar taken off and a sore to his bottom. I feel HORRIBLE for sending our dog there.

I first took my dog to Gina about 7 years ago for behavior modification when he was about a year…read moreold. Gina graciously helped us through my dog's reactive behaviors and taught me how to better understand him. My dog had Parvo as a puppy and unfortunately became very reactive towards people and other dogs afterwards. Gina is extremely knowledgeable and she was very kind and patient with me and my pup. She truly has a way with dogs and can tell you everything just from their body language. I have recommended her to friends and family, and I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a high quality trainer in the area. I recently went out of town for 4 days and was so thankful to board my dog with Gina because I was confident he would be well taken care of which allowed me to enjoy my vacation. Gina is the only person I trust with my dog and we are so grateful to be working with PacwestK9!

He is a great dog however did need work on reactivity to people and pets. He was labeled as aggressive by vet because he is over protective of me. He was limited on the places I could take him because he did not like men outside my husband. Her comes Gina communication with her staff and her was excellent. They really listened to our needs and our concerns. We wanted to be able to take our dog everywhere. That's exactly what we can do now. He is phenomenal in every way. Yes you are required to follow through with training. Her training has brought me to tears we can't believe the full life our boy gets to live. She absolutely puts everything into ensuring your dog succeeds.

Also I love being able to check in on her at any time during the day with their cameras. Also very affordable for $35 a day on weekends which I often work on weekends. I live in Kent and I won't take my dogs to any other daycare because Positive approach is so good. I drive over for them!

His stays went well and some of the time we could even observe him at play on video cameras (when they were working) . He was there for 2 weeks last on his last visit. We got a great report on our dog when we picked him up and we never saw any issues when we watched him on their cameras. We put in for a reservation for this Dec for an 8 day stay. The cost of the stay is $55 per day - $440 plus we also have him groomed on pick-up day. Now I'm being told that in order for him to stay in Dec he must come in to attend "a few days" of daycare again. We live in Olympia and having to drive to Tacoma a "few" (undefined quantity) days is very inconvenient and would cost us $44 per visit! This is supposedly to "protect my dog" but it is really? Why can't we simply drop him off for a few hours if they need to "observe" him with other dogs again? Besides, the chances are the dogs he interacts with during a play date won't be the same dogs that are there when he boards in 6 weeks. Although we had good experiences in past stays, it is unreasonable to charge for multiple visits just to observe our dog who has never given them any trouble in the past.

My neighborhood dog group decided to throw a little Saint Patrick's Day party here for us, family…read moreand friends. I was told she was offered a great deal for the rental and some homemade dog treats. Parking was a bit confusing as the parking nearby the business was full and there was a spot that we think was free to use but not sure. As we entered, we were greeted by a staff member who let us in and the space is huge! There were plenty of toys, a dog pool, and little obstacles for dogs to enjoy to their hearts' content! They even have a hose to fill up the pool or just have your dogs chase around. There were little cubbies and lots of areas to hang leashes, coats, and other stuff on. They had Youtube videos playing too. The dog treats were so creative. They had cannoli, biscuits, and much more. All of our dogs seemed to have enjoy the treats greatly, no treats were left behind. All of the dogs seemed to be enjoying themselves as they just had so much to do or other dogs to play with. Definitely look forward to coming back here to throw future dog parties as our group loves to do little events for our fur babies.

It made me wonder about the ratio balance between humans vs dogs. I had dropped my dog off for a behavioral assessment, as we have trips coming up and I'm looking for boarding care. This is not where I'm personally comfortable leaving my pup, as the ratio seemed to be 1 human to 15 or 20 dogs in an indoor-only, less than 1500sq foot space. The good news is they are so kind and nice humans, if I was rating them they'd earn 5+++ stars as I'd leave my dog in their care anytime! The problem I had was the physical space (super tiny!) and the ratio of dogs, as they allowed 3 or 4 pups to greet my dog while 15 or so were in a hallway-type space patiently waiting and sooooo well-behaved, to greet and play. The space for playing is very limited, about 1/2 the size of a classroom, and while it's clean and the staff are super lovely, it's probably not the best fit for our pup who loves to play fetch and run. Parking is also super tricky in this neighborhood, as there isn't a parking lot or spaces reserved for the business.

I can't give Canyon Crest K9 high enough praise as my dogs behavior improved dramatically after even just a few lessons. I took their full course and instructions were clear, easy to understand and easy to use. I really like their combination of abundant praise and mild correction. My dogs actually seem happier as well, and visitors to my home have stated they are so much better behaved. I intend to take further courses from Canyon Creat K9. I had taken two other courses from another large dog training facility that uses food rewards, and positive reinforcement only. That training was confusing, critical of my learning and tied to food rewards being high value to the dog and often changing those rewards to get the response that was needed. My dog actually reverted to the behaviors that ended up with my broken arm. in other words, the training didn't stick with either the dog or me. My dogs with Canyon Crest K9 respond to my praise, treats are not involved and I feel like I am communicating with them on a much higher level. With the instruction Canyon Crest K9 supplies an illustrated book written by their founder, provides access to a video that directly links and repeats the exact instructions that are given during the one on one training sessions. I believe they've been in business close to 50 years and it really shows they know what they are doing. I am over 70 with two large dogs that now are a pure pleasure to be around!
