The food is awesome! Been there several times now and haven't been disappointed. Everyone should try this place. So, I love Dawson's and their food. We are regulars. They were jammed today and I get that. I understood there was going to be a wait. No big deal. Told my waitress that several times. This was a bad experience from beginning to end. Our orders weren't right. After bring my eggs Benedict with bacon instead of Canadian bacon, I was told that was all they had. lol asked if she could check. She said that it would be out in a few minutes. It was. It was cold. And awful. My husbands order was wrong as well and they fixed it. The Sarg's Bloody Mary, which are usually bangin, were the worst bloody Mary's. Ever. I hope today was a fluke. Waitress was sweet. read more

Wow! The food is delicious for both brunch and dinner! The menu has trendy twists on old favorites (jalapeno mac and cheese - hello!). Wow! This place is GREAT! You can dine outside, or in the bar area where they gave the sports on, or escape to the backroom if you just want to talk. The menu is excellent and the food is even better. The salads were fresh and perfectly sized. We couldn't have been more pleased with the entree's, they were creative and delicious. I just had lunch at this old restaurant that has been bought by the nicest people and renovated from top to bottom! The food was outstanding. We had the French Onion soup to start with and I think it was the best that I've ever tasted! My friend and I shared a pastrami sandwich with fries and I'm glad we shared, it was very large! Great little spot! First time there and we were greeted warmly and enthusiastically when we arrived. It was fairly empty when we arrived but began filling up as we ate. Good mannered dog friendly, Beautiful atmosphere, love the inside decor (they're all ready for Halloween!), good and polite service. The food was better than expected, I had the shrimp tacos and my friend had the sliders. Both yummy! Drinks aren't too expensive and they have a nice sized bar, lots of tables and chairs, and great area in the back for big parties. Will definitely come again. read more

Dawson's has a very hometown vibe about it with great service, and seems to attract a good crowd of people. Their menu is surprising for a town that has historically catered to a crowd that primarily seeks a pitcher of lager and a greasy burger (nothing wrong with that). However, we crave something more special than that every now and then, and Dawson's meets that, right at the heart of Dixon's downtown. I love that their selection is simple, but always creative and quality. I hope the current establishment is here for a while! read more

Came to Dawson's today for lunch and had exceptional service by a young lady. My girl had the chicken sandwich and fries and I had the Philly cheese steak with fries got a side of mac and cheese it was great. Every time I come I try to have something different and they never disappoint! Had a Moscow Mule to drink I must say very tasty with the ginger and I will be definitely having it again. Awesome to see local artist Josh Allgood's painting that he did on the back wall of Dawson's! (Wings) if you haven't seen it before it's a great place to take a picture. We stopped by this place for Dinner. Our Server Amber was very pleasant and attentive. She recommended the fried asparagus and boneless beef short ribs. THEY WERE AMAZING!!! My wife had the salmon, she said it was cooked perfectly, flaky and tender. Amber checked on us frequently and made our entire dining experience Amazing. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this place! read more

Wow! Heading to the Napa Valley from the north we found this little gem as we yelped a place for lunch. The shrimp tacos were fresh, flavorful and filling. The side of mixed black beans and quinoa was herbed and so tasty... not your average rice and beans. My husband had the burger and his description, " Not your typical burger. Very tasty." Was in town for the day, I loved the vibe and energy here. Ordered food to go and enjoyed a drink while I waited for my food. They have good music and the staff seem nice. I work in Dixon and tried Dawson's today for lunch and not a fan so far, I had the chicken sandwich and besides it being so plain and bland it was also undercooked (I thought the 5 minute wait was quick), so I will take it home for dinner and cook a little more and add cheese and some spices, also had a salad and the vinaigrette was way too sweet, for a $17 lunch I just expected a little more so yah a little disappointed! read more

I don't see what the fuss is about. The food isn't even good. The Mac and cheese is gross, the pretzel isn't good. The flavoring on the fries are awful. The burger is just like any ol' burger anywhere else. This is assuming they even get the order right. There's always something wrong with an order. We got the applecrisp dessert once and the apples weren't even cooked all the way. Their options are limited too. The servers were always nice but not enough to make up for the food service. And it bothers me that the kitchen staff doesn't wear hair nets. Doesn't seem sanitary at all. read more

I am so grateful for little local businesses, who go above and beyond to help their customers. I have a bunch of food allergies, which makes eating out not so fun, but they didn't hesitate to bend over backwards and customize my crazy order to perfection. I didn't get the name of the person I spoke with on the phone but they went in the back, gave the phone to the cook, and he proceeded to create a wonderful meal for me that I could actually eat AND enjoy! I cannot tell you how grateful I am for the outstanding customer service, as well as the quality of food. What a local gem. Oh, and my kids say they have the best chicken strips and fries in town, so that doesn't hurt either. Thank you Dawson's! read more
